Trattoria- Pizzeria "Il Siciliano" in Bad Mergentheim

Great pizza and espresso! So, anyone who says the pizza here isn't good has no idea about Italian pizza. The pizza is crispy all the way through. The crust is light and airy. The base has the typical leopard print from the baking. Not too much cheese or sauce. Also, I went to five different cafes during my time in Bad Mergentheim. The espresso here is the best. The noise level depends on who's sitting next to you and how much Campari Spritz your neighbors have had... But it's all within normal limits. I'll definitely eat and drink coffee here again when I'm back.

We visited "Il Siciliano" on a recommendation. We thoroughly enjoyed everything. The food was very good and authentic, the prices were reasonable, and the service staff were well-coordinated, confident, pleasant, and friendly, prompt, and attentive. The cozy, attractive interior featured subtle Italian background music. The restrooms were very clean and modern—yes, that's part of a good restaurant! We'd love to come back again. Nice Italian restaurant not far from the North Sea. The food was delicious and the lunch menu prices were very fair. The only downside was the wait for the bill: 10+ minutes, and that during the lunch break when many people have to go to work. August 2025

Very tasty food, friendly staff, but unfortunately, they didn't ask if we wanted anything else to drink or if everything was okay. Always busy, so please make a reservation. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays. We'd be happy to go back.

Highly recommended. The pizza base is very crispy and the toppings are perfectly balanced. Recommended: Pizza Parma, Pizza Speciale, and Italian Salad Friendly service, pleasant noise level. The food arrived quickly, too.

Very well located, centrally next to the church. Theresa, the manager, and the entire team are very friendly and try to accommodate their guests. If you ask, you can even get dishes that aren't listed on the menu. I've been there about 12 times in four weeks and the food has always been excellent. If the weather is nice, you should make a reservation. I'd be happy to come back.

We had a reservation for 5 people. The food was truly exceptionally fresh, authentic, and prepared with love. The staff was also incredibly friendly and attentive, making the entire experience very pleasant. However, what struck me as very negative was that the manager was the only one doing the billing, and from my own experience from many years in the restaurant industry, I could already tell that the tips probably wouldn't reach the service staff. I find this extremely unfair, especially because the service staff provided the entire service: taking orders, bringing everything to the table, and caring for the guests. A restaurant with really good food, but the way the staff were treated is, in my opinion, morally unacceptable and significantly tarnishes the overall image.

The waitress's first sentence: "Long wait, with only five guests in the room!" Never again, I've seen it; just standing around doesn't make things go any faster!

Unfriendly service, long, very long waiting time, never again

Reserved by phone 2 days in advance for 5 people. On July 4th: Unfortunately, nothing had been reserved for us. If someone hadn't left after waiting 10 minutes (until the server had time), we wouldn't have gotten a table... That's absolutely unacceptable! The server was overwhelmed in a full restaurant with an outdoor area, as she was alone. Waited too long to order drinks. Waited too long to order food. Starters came quickly. Main course waited too long. A meal arrives, a man brings it, asks who ordered number...? He gave the wrong number for the correct dish and was corrected by the guest.... Two meals arrive, the remaining two meals took 20 minutes. Eating together is different! Starter plates not cleared. A man with a cigarette at the next table. Of course, he held it so the smoke reached us and not his companion.... Then this man cleared our plates! Does he belong to the restaurant???? Then it's outrageous!!!!!! I reordered more wine, which arrived when everyone else had already finished. Paid with an EC card. The bill only included food and two bottles of wine. The remaining drinks were added by hand! ????? And adding two numbers together is pretty difficult! I had to help the waitress with it. Conclusion: A real shame! We won't be visiting this restaurant again. Prices were OK. Outside area very noisy.

The pizza Parma was good, but the spaghetti with shrimp and tomatoes was a bit bland. The service was quite disorganized; no one knew what anyone else was doing. Well... mediocre.

The food here is cooked with love! The pizzas are perfectly crispy, and the homemade stuffed pasta was also a dream. The sauces are a taste sensation! And the creme brulee is amazing... The hostess takes service personally and has a quick solution for every challenge. The prices are very fair.

Were there for dinner today on Friday March 28th and the staff was nice and friendly, our different food came hot and at the same time for all 6 people. The prices are ok and it would be good to make a reservation because the restaurant is always busy. We were all full and were very satisfied. Thanks

Thank you for your attention. This restaurant is not an "Italian" restaurant. It has nothing to do with Italian food. A complete disappointment. The pizzas were warm, which I think was all there was to the positive review. An increased or incorrect bill at the end of the evening further confirmed our suspicions, or rather, a finding. Personally, I will steer clear of this place.

We had a delicious meal here. Everything was great. The seating area, two tables (in the hallway to the toilets) weren't quite as nice. Very narrow and the waitresses were always running past it (it was also very busy) and then so were the people going to the toilet. But staff very friendly.

Unfortunately, hair in the pizza for the second time in 5 months. The first time we sat in the restaurant and spoke to the boss and she said it couldn't be from our employees, it could be from someone else. Today on December 26th, a pizza with the wrong toppings and again HAIR IN THE PIZZA DOUGH! Absolutely bottomless impudence. Were regular customers but they won't see us anymore.

Unfortunately it didn't convince us. The food was ok...nothing more, nothing less. That's better. We didn't like the atmosphere at all. Not cozy at all, very bright, you look into the kitchen and there's a lot of kitchen noise coming into the guest room. Prices were okay and service was nice. All in all, I wouldn't eat there again.

Wir besuchten die Trattoria Il Siciliano mit vier Personen nach Reservierung - sehr empfehlenswert, da das Lokal bis auf den letzten Platz ausgebucht war. Das Essen war hervorragend, insbesondere die Antipasti di Verdure und das Carpaccio di Manza mit sehr leckerem Pizzabrot. Auch die Nudelgerichte mit selbstgemachten Teigwaren sind sehr zu empfehlen. Netter und aufmerksamer Service trotz des vollen Restaurants bei angemessenen Preisen. Schade, dass die Trattoria so weit von unserem Wohnort entfernt ist, sonst würde das unser neues Lieblingslokal werden.

Please note that gluten-free dishes must be ordered in advance - even if they are regularly on the menu and there is no indication of this on the menu. I wasn't informed about this in a friendly manner when I ordered in the restaurant and was given the feeling that I was more of a burden than a guest. It would have been great if the staff had asked when making the reservation whether there was a guest who was gluten-free if this caused difficulties/inconveniences. The food was good.

The dishes were quite good. However, we were not served at the same time. I had finished eating when the dish of the person who accompanied me arrived....

After a bike ride, I wanted to have a drink and maybe a bite to eat here at 1:30 p.m. I would receive with; There is nothing left to eat and the kitchen is closed. When we asked for a drink, the waitress said she would be there soon. Unfortunately she forgot about me after 10 minutes I went to the counter and asked if I could order a drink. She apologized and brought the drink a few minutes later. When paying she apologized again, Maybe I'll have better luck next time

Were here for the first time. We were looking for a restaurant that offered gluten-free. Reviews were very good and we weren't disappointed. 100% attention was paid to GF. Super. Our daughter enjoyed pizza and panna cotta. Our normal food was also very good. The waitresses were very nice despite the high demand. Dear Siciliano team, keep it up, you're great. Can only be recommended.

A dream location for dinner in the evening in the city. There is a super nice and friendly Romanian lady who can serve you. Very good service. Very tasty food. Food is good but if you arrived at 1pm on Saturday they make sure to tell you the kitchen will close soon (2pm) and you need to hurry up... When we finished main dish, we were not aks for either coffee or dessert mpst likely kitchne was closing. Service to improve.

The food was really very tasty. Unfortunately we were not satisfied with the service. Both drinks and food were simply slammed in the middle of the table. Our empty glasses were ignored for an hour and in order for us to order dessert we had to ask twice. We were also only allowed to pay after the 3rd request. Yes, it was full at the beginning, but later on people preferred to clear away empty tables instead of stopping by our table again

We were there because of the gluten-free offer. The pizza was nice and tasty. The gluten-free dough was homemade and the base was really good and had a good consistency. The organization in the kitchen seems reliably designed to minimize the risk of contamination. Absolute recommendation for the gluten-free tiramisu!! The service was warm and the wine was good. The pizza from the non-gluten-free menu was also great and the Vitello Tonato was to die for.

Hi, if you want to enjoy good Italian cuisine and wine, then this is the right place. Chef prepares food with soul. Wines are produced by small Italian wineries. The only negative point is a lack of space because, due to construction in the city, the area outside was reduced in size. Great little place

At first glance the charm of a take away, but then... Antipasto Italiano in the house style, finger-licking. Various salami, ham, grilled vegetables and cheese. And the olive oil.....😋 Putanesca was good, the homemade pasta Fahottini Sa-Sa with ricotta and salmon were great. A real discovery!

Very good cuisine. The pizza and the "ham" had that typical original taste. I didn't think the food would be so good here. From the outside it looks high quality; but not exactly inviting. It gives the impression that “you only eat here when you’re well dressed.” However, once you sit inside it works :). The rooms are very narrow and long. Just made the best of it. Service was good. However, I can't have it if there's an unhealthy arrogance attached to it. Still just in time.

I really recommend this restaurant. The presentation of the dishes is really nice, fair prices, excellent food. The entrecote melted in your mouth, even the house sauce on the salad was good. We will definitely come again!

Best restaurant in the Main Tauber district!

We got a table for two in the middle of a narrow alleyway... the whole time guests were walking past us or waitresses were running past. Unfortunately, the service was really bad... the wrong starter was brought and we were then told it was our mistake, then we had to wait a long time for our food and in the end my food came well before my partner's. The food was ok so far. The pizza and pizza bread were delicious, but the Bolognese was nothing special. It was definitely our first and also our last visit!

Five of us ate pizza there. Very tasty, highly recommended. We immediately reserved a table again.

We were very satisfied. I was allowed to put together my favorite pizza and I was absolutely more than satisfied. My wife had vegan lasagna and couldn't fault it. The atmosphere was kind of cool. Mixture of takeaway and restaurant. We found it somehow authentic. Friendly ladies in service.

Die Pizza Speciale war gut. Boden dünn und der Rand schön fluffig. Das gewisse Etwas fehlt aber für 5 Sterne. Service war zuvorkommend. Preise absolut in Ordnung.

Sehr nettes Restaurant, liebevoll gestaltet und mit Herzblut geführt. Beste Hausgemachte Pizza und andere Gerichte. Die Chefin hat auch noch Herz, sehr nett. Man fühlt sich wie im Wohnzimmer. Immer wieder gerne.
