Trattoria Lili in Hamburg

Disastrous Organization Yesterday, we had a reservation at Trattoria Lili for 11 people (confirmed by email). However, when we arrived, there was already a long line outside. We went in anyway, since we had a reservation. The restaurant was completely overcrowded and chaotic. When we asked a staff member about our reservation, we were told: "Yeah, yeah, that'll be fine, we'll manage, we'll just kick some people out so there's space." There was no apology whatsoever from the staff. Wow, what a way to treat guests! I don't want to be a guest who gets "kicked out" right after eating so that seats become available. Furthermore, several other groups with reservations were waiting outside (groups of 6, 4, 13, and our group of 11), and they all received the same or similar responses from the staff. That would have meant 34 guests being "kicked out"—practically impossible, and frankly, no guest wants to experience something like that. Wow, what a way to treat guests! We did not get to enjoy the meal and never will again, because we will NEVER make a reservation there again and, given the "respect" shown to the guests, we will never eat there.

A very bad experience on my milestone birthday: despite booking months in advance, there was no table available for us. To our surprise, this was also the case for several other reservations; about 30 people were standing outside in the cold in front of the restaurant, and we kept being put off. We ended up finding another restaurant. Extremely poor service, as the staff didn't even apologize.

We had reserved a table for 11 people well in advance for last night. When we arrived on time, the restaurant was already incredibly crowded. Although we had a reservation confirmation, dozens of other people with reservations were also standing outside Trattoria Lili. The organization at this place is abysmal. It was complete chaos. In the end, we had to find another restaurant on a Saturday night, which we thankfully managed to do. I would never make a reservation here again. Trattoria Lili apparently doesn't need its customers. What a shame!

First off: This review is solely about the organization! We unfortunately didn't even get to eat… The organization here seems to be a complete joke. This was definitely our first and last visit. Despite having made a reservation well in advance, we were left standing outside for 20 minutes. After asking several times, we were simply told, "We'll sort it out." As if that wasn't annoying enough, we were then given false hope with the statement, "I'm about to throw someone out"—which was quite unpleasant for the guests who were already eating. By then, a group of 13, a group of 6, and a group of 4 were already waiting outside, and they too were given the runaround. An apology? Not a chance. Instead, everything seemed chaotic and completely disorganized. When reservations aren't taken seriously and guests are treated like this, it's absolutely unacceptable.

The food is good, fairly average. On the day of our visit, the restaurant was fully booked. As a result, as soon as the last person finished eating, the bill was immediately presented, and the next guests were already seated next to the table, forcing us to get up. This is absolutely unacceptable.

We were delighted with the service and the friendly staff. The food was absolutely delicious.

A lovely Italian atmosphere with red and white checkered tablecloths and friendly waiters. Delicious fresh bread with aioli to start, and the pizza was very good! Unfortunately, there was no complimentary sambuca with the bill; I think that's a nice touch. 🤗

We stopped here after the Tarzan show (at the Neue Flora). I had quickly made a reservation online during the intermission. It was quite busy. We received a friendly welcome. The waiters were friendly and efficient. The food was delicious. We would definitely come back.

Very attentive host! Excellent, authentic food. The menu is concise, which I personally appreciate. Great wines and homemade desserts. The tiramisu was superb. Only one minor drawback: For my taste, the music was a touch too loud the evening we were there. But that's really nitpicking. I can definitely recommend Trattoria Lilli.

Unfortunately, I can only give one star across the board. Although we had a reservation, we were seated in a side room. Our food only arrived after guests who had arrived after us had been served. In addition, the pizza we ordered was incorrect. A very poor overall impression.

A fantastic experience; everything was just perfect. A birthday party before a show at the Neue Flora. Jimmy and his team took excellent care of us, were quick to serve, and even sang a birthday song for the special occasion – absolutely brilliant! The food (including lamb fillet with porcini mushrooms) was delicious. The highlight was a cassata dessert at the end – simply divine. Thank you to Jimmy and his team for a wonderful evening.

Yesterday was my first time there, and I was totally surprised that this restaurant had been overlooked until now! Great service, very funny waiters. Delicious bread with dip on the house. Even the simple Caprese salad was surprisingly well presented. The birthday person received tiramisu with a candle and a big fanfare from the staff. Thank you so much for the lovely evening.

The food and the restaurant itself were good, but unfortunately the service wasn't very friendly from the start. Especially when we didn't order extra water, he even seemed annoyed. Since I work in the restaurant industry myself, I always leave a 10% tip, and after that, our server suddenly became much nicer.

We were there for our department's Christmas party. Another company was also there. Each group was a maximum of 12 people. The pizza arrived for everyone almost simultaneously, but it wasn't really tasty. It was enough to satisfy our hunger. Chili and garlic oil only arrived once for the entire table, even after we asked. The ordering process was a complete disaster, considering that dining out is supposed to be a treat. The waiter asked, in an annoyed tone, if we already knew what we wanted to drink or eat. Everything felt rushed. Ordering additional items was nearly impossible because a waiter was rarely seen. When you did see one, he would take orders from a maximum of three people and then walk away again. It was as if we were getting everything for free. When we paid, he expected a tip, which I couldn't possibly give for such poor service.

The food was mediocre, and while the service was quite friendly, the kitchen seemed to have forgotten about half the meal. The low point, however, was that the owner blatantly ripped us off, charging us €86 for a demonstrably cheap bottle of red wine. Despite his obvious attempt to take advantage of us, he insisted on the bill, constantly inventing excuses and lies. All in all, this visit deserves the label "catastrophic"—and it certainly raises questions about how this restaurant manages to get such good reviews. Compared to many Italian restaurants in the area, this was simply a joke. Never again.

I went there with my partner for our anniversary. We drove an hour specifically because the restaurant looked very nice. We looked at the menus, and the server came by several times within the first two or three minutes to take our order. When I said I needed a little more time to choose a dish, she turned away, looking annoyed, as if it were a terrible thing that I didn't know what I was eating after two minutes. After ordering, we wanted to play a few cards while our food arrived. We were then rudely asked to leave our table and be relegated to the back corner of the restaurant because, for some reason, we weren't allowed to play cards at the window table. Despite the disrespect, we were understanding and carried our jackets and drinks across the entire restaurant to the far corner. As we walked to our new table, we received angry looks from the server, who told us in a very loud voice that we should please go way, way back to the very last corner! Other guests were already looking up. If playing cards bothers you so much, you could have addressed it respectfully and offered the guests another seat. That wouldn't have been a problem. We felt humiliated, which is why I started to cry. Several servers saw this, and yet we weren't spoken to once, though they were whispering amongst themselves. We were respectful the entire time, showed understanding, and not once did the server say "please," "thank you," or anything else. When the food arrived, it was simply placed on the table without even looking at us. The lasagna was 80% oil, but the pasta with turkey was tasty. We weren't asked if we enjoyed the meal or if we had anything else to say. If such a question had been asked, I wouldn't be relying on Google reviews, but if a restaurant doesn't care what its guests have to say, then so be it. When we paid, the server turned around and left without a word. Not even a goodbye. The lasagna was 80% oil, but the pasta with turkey was tasty. We weren't asked if we enjoyed the meal or if we had anything else to say. It's such a shame that we traveled an hour specifically to choose this restaurant for our anniversary, only for it to end like this because we wanted to play cards. I can't think of any other reason why we were treated so disrespectfully. I never usually write reviews like this, but it's very upsetting to be treated this way.

We ate there last night. The spaghetti aglio e olio was good. However, the rest of the dishes were awful. The lasagna was tasteless, the porcini ravioli with truffle sauce were hard, and to top it all off, the beef fillet, which was cut into 1 cm thick slices, was riddled with tendons and had a layer of fat. Absolutely not recommended! We hope it was just yesterday, otherwise we can't explain the positive reviews.

Lovely Istrian restaurant. We received a very warm welcome. As a complimentary amuse-bouche, we were served delicious bread with a wonderful garlic sauce. The food was served quickly and was tasty. The prices are perfectly reasonable. If we stay at Cabo again, we'll definitely come back.

Unfortunately, the service was very hectic, it was loud, and very chaotic. The food arrived very quickly and was okay. We weren't shown the current menu, which was on a wooden board; some other guests received it. Unfortunately, the crème brûlée wasn't fully set, more soft than firm. And unfortunately, the sugar on top wasn't caramelized as it should be. A shame.

As visitors to Hamburg, we were just passing by the place and immediately got hungry – it looked fantastic, so we quickly checked if they were open at 3:30 pm. The pizza was excellent, the staff incredibly friendly (even towards our toddler) – if I lived in Hamburg, this would be my regular restaurant.

Very crowded and tightly packed on a Friday. Loud atmosphere. Attentive service with a tendency towards "eat faster so the table can be used again"... Food was quite good...and reasonably priced. Conclusion: It's an option.

Friendly, fast service, delicious food

It was a lovely and convivial evening. The menu is creatively diverse. There's also a daily special. The food was superb 😋 and delicious. My favorite was the wine list. The staff were always on top of us and were able to anticipate our every need 👀. The only thing that bothered us was that the music was too loud. Otherwise, we would have stayed longer and tried one or two more wines.

We stumbled upon it by chance and were warmly welcomed, even though we didn't know each other. We were very pleased with the food and the service, and were very impressed by the friendly staff. No wonder it was so busy. Highly recommended.

We tried several pizzas, but unfortunately, they were only mediocre. The restaurant's strengths probably lie in other dishes. The service and ambiance were perfect!

Spent a convivial evening there today, and it was very nice overall. The restaurant is quite large, there's room for everyone, the tables are elegantly set, and the atmosphere is cozy. I had the fried sea bream with potatoes and salad. The fish was cooked to perfection, but a bit too salty, and the portion was quite small. On the plus side, there were plenty of tomatoes and cucumbers on the plate – but everything was incredibly fresh and attractively presented. There was bread and garlic sauce for dipping beforehand, also very tasty. Panacotta for dessert, although I've had much better. The service was good, approachable, and also beautifully Italian, but he rarely showed up... and the older gentleman didn't want to or couldn't explain or describe the panacotta dessert. While it was a no-go in terms of service, the guys were still charming. Conclusion: All in all, the food was delicious, the price/performance ratio was reasonable, and we even got a schnapps at the end. So, I can wholeheartedly recommend "Giovanni" for a relaxing evening! 😋👍🏻😎

The restaurant is very large, so it can get a bit noisy and take a while to serve. But the food is delicious and the service is friendly, so it's worth a try.

I was there on a Friday evening in September. It was very crowded and rather noisy due to the deep, nooky space. The waiter was very busy and apparently forgot my request for the starter and main course to arrive at the same time. Apart from that, the restaurant was nicely decorated. The food (bruschetta and pasta) arrived surprisingly quickly and was delicious. The staff seemed busy but (apart from my forgotten special request) had everything under control. The price was definitely acceptable at €28 for a drink, starter, and main course. I highly recommend it.

Food was wonderful. We had starters of bruschetta, broccoli and spinach. Portion sizes were good. The bistecca nerone turned out better than expected. We asked for medium rare and received just that. The blend of the vegetables and sauce was perfect with the steak. Would order again. Panna cotta was good. Tiramisu was excellent.

It couldn't be better!!! We celebrated my mother's 60th birthday here, and I'm still thrilled! The waiters were super warm, really friendly, and went to great lengths. We were even allowed to bring our own cake, and they helped us serve it and really empathized with us, even singing along. The staff and the manager were so nice to us that we felt warmly welcomed from the very beginning. It was as if we were in a friend's garden. I've rarely felt so comfortable in a restaurant. Introduction was nice. Ordering went quick. Then the first issues began. We ordered 2 pre-courses. One arrived - the second one we never saw. Then the main dishes came and were quite delicious. After that the staff just ignored us more or less. No asking for new drinks, no removal of finished plates. Just us, a candle with a fly in it and the last sips of our drinks. Then not our waiter but someone else came and removed plates we finished 20m before. That person did not even bother to ask us if we liked the meal. Nonetheless I mentioned we want to have a dessert. Got ignored. Person turned around and walked away without talking with us. In the end I needed to wave at another waiter who then got us our waiter we last saw when we made our initial order. He looked disinterested, we paid our bill - which did luckily include only one pre-course - and left the restaurant. Chef was really good, but the waiters were horrible.

The service wasn't good..waiting pretending not to hear my call. Not sure if it is language barrier or just purposeful attitude. The seemed dancing without paying attention to the customers.
