Today was our first time here for a "regular" breakfast. Even the sight upon arrival was a treat. The homemade bread, braided sweet bread, cinnamon rolls, and croissants were simply delicious. The selection of fruit, salad, cheese, cold cuts, homemade jams, and honey was fantastic 😋. It's a shame we couldn't eat everything. And to top it all off, the fresh orange juice and homemade yogurt... you can really taste the difference. In short: we'll definitely be back. Excellent value for money. Today, December 10, 2025, at 8:00 PM, I read a review that was a summary generated by AI. It reported that the service was inattentive and overwhelmed when the restaurant was full. Except for one time when a new employee was being trained, I cannot confirm or share this experience. The "beginner" was upfront from the start and very helpful. Hey guys, were you 100% perfect on the first day of your apprenticeship? Why were you apprentices then? If an experience like this leads to comments about overwhelmed service, then shame on you. Be glad that people are getting a chance at work. This is also proof that AI can't be trusted unconditionally (but that's just my personal opinion). I still maintain that EVERYTHING was truly good and fair.

A small and cozy restaurant with a beautiful view of the airfield. You can enjoy your food and/or drinks while watching the small planes take off and land. In the summer, you can also enjoy the view from the lovely terrace. We've been there several times now and are always delighted. They also regularly host events (BBQs, Christmas dinners, Advent breakfasts, etc.). Last time we went, we were there for breakfast. You have to pre-order breakfast during the week. For that price, you get a lavishly set table with all sorts of delicious things (cold cuts, cheese, salmon), fresh bread and rolls (baked on-site), homemade yogurt, and muesli. Egg dishes (scrambled or fried) are also freshly prepared and served at your table upon request. The breakfast is rounded off with freshly squeezed orange juice. The price of €26.50 per person is more than reasonable. But you should allow yourself plenty of time; it's not a place for a quick breakfast. The only extra cost is for hot or cold drinks with breakfast. We'll definitely do this again. We're already looking forward to Christmas dinner on Boxing Day.

The dish was visually appealing, with the colorful vegetables and sauce making a particularly good first impression. However, the venison goulash wasn't entirely convincing in terms of taste: the meat seemed a bit dry in places, and the flavors could have been more robust and harmonious overall. The side dishes were solid, but overall the dish fell short of expectations. The service was pleasant, and the terrace is, of course, a wonderful place to sit. But overall, the price-performance ratio doesn't match the actual meal.

We were in the cockpit today, quite spontaneously and, of course, during prime time – midday – and were still delighted to have a free table on the popular balcony with a direct view of the apron and runway! The entire service was absolutely polite and attentive. A huge thank you to the young woman who served our table so warmly! The meal (I had the veal schnitzel with potato, cucumber, and radish salad) was beautifully presented and definitely worthy of fine dining. The cake for dessert was also fresh and very enjoyable. The only thing that's definitely up for debate is the beer on offer: I prefer a regional pilsner to Bavarian brewery ale from Weihenstephan. ;-) All in all, we'd be happy to come back.

We were here for a special birthday. The coffee and cake were excellent, with a varied selection of cakes and very good quality. In the evening, there was a buffet with classic salads, green salads, and grilled food, which was equally varied and of the highest quality. And the service was equally great: attentive, friendly, and fast. You could hardly have a better dining experience. Thank you for the lovely afternoon and evening!

In this gastronomically dull region, the cockpit stands out as a welcome relief. A top-notch breakfast with fresh ingredients, homemade jam, and crisp vegetables. Main meals are colorful, excellently prepared, and well worth the moderate price. The service is informal and welcoming, and the owners are simply fantastic. Great events are held throughout the year. And if you don't feel like going home, there are several rooms available. The airfield ambiance and the natural surroundings are simply divine!

An insider tip for all (racing) cyclists who want to take a quick coffee break (or more). The cake is super delicious and homemade. From the terrace, you have a great view of the runway.

Only God gets 5 stars... Otherwise, I'd be inclined to give the service 4.5 stars and the food 4.3 stars, based on my visit on the early evening of September 4, 2025. The restaurant's design is good and functional, and the terrace is very pleasant. I enjoyed two snacks with a glass of Pinot Gris – the excellent crispy tart with rosemary figs and the autumn leaf salad with seeds, herbs, and homemade bread. As usual, my special request regarding the salad was easily fulfilled. Reservations are recommended during the season and on weekends for lunch and dinner. This also speaks volumes about the hospitality and quality.

We were visiting Zossen and were looking for a nice destination in the area for an outing with our toddler. The little one was absolutely thrilled by the many planes taking off and landing, and we enjoyed the great food and the exceptionally friendly service. The service is truly exceptional: super friendly, professional, and always with a smile. The food was an absolute highlight. Every plate was perfectly seasoned, beautifully presented, and of truly high quality – you can immediately tell the passion that goes into the cooking here. We also particularly liked the atmosphere: modern, cozy, and with a fantastic view of the airfield and the forests, which makes the visit even more special. The service and the view of the flight operations are absolutely first-class, the food is good, but in my opinion, doesn't quite live up to the prices. The cheeseburger was good, no question, but for over €20, I wasn't expecting a traditional pre-made patty. And the portion of fries was unfortunately a bit small considering the extra charge. But the view while eating is really beautiful, and the service is absolutely attentive.

A lovely destination that we've known and frequented for a long time. Super friendly and professional service, as well as creative and delicious food. Deducting one star because I found the portion of the main course (I had the schnitzel) to be too small. For €25.00, I expect more. The same goes for the homemade iced tea...nothing special, far too little for €6.60, and incredibly sweet and tasteless. There's still room for improvement!

You keep finding gems like this. A truly fantastic restaurant right next to Schönhagen Airport. Five of us (including two children) were there, and everyone loved it – delicious, freshly prepared food, a great view of the runway (two planes took off despite the strong wind), and very friendly staff. More expensive than average, but definitely worth every euro. A definite recommendation, even or especially for a family outing.

It was a delight to eat here: asparagus, veal schnitzel, cake, house lemonade, espresso. All the staff were very nice; it was a pleasure for me. When the weather is nice, the terrace with a view of the micro airfield is very pretty, but unfortunately, I wasn't that lucky. Please don't confuse "affordable" with "cheap."

I became aware of the place through a restaurant tester I follow on Instagram, so I looked at the website and immediately fell in love with the ambience, the food, the surroundings and the many positive reviews. Since we wanted to have a nice day today, we had a really good time. In addition to the delicious, high-quality food, the flight operations were also a highlight. It was a wonderful time and it won't be the last time we visit these friendly people.

Yesterday the time had come, we sat on the terrace, were able to watch the flight operations and were first warmly welcomed and then treated to culinary delights. Sooo delicious and sooo a cool atmosphere. We love coming here and enjoying the view when the weather is nice! The food is incredibly tasty and beautifully/modernly prepared. Sure, it's a little more expensive, but it's still worth it if you're looking for a special dining experience. The currywurst is awesome because the homemade curry sauce is really fruity. The drink variations are also very cool and refreshing! The boss and his employees are very nice and friendly.

Very nice destination, super nice staff, delicious cakes and dishes. You sit elevated and simply watch/follow the planes arriving and departing with coffee or wine. Whether you are a motorcyclist, car driver, cyclist or pedestrian... everyone is warmly welcomed here.

I understand that the combination of the view and the lack of gastronomic alternatives drives up the prices - but with prices of around 30 euros for a main course, the quality should be right. Our burgers and fries (vegetarian and with meat) were clearly made with old frying fat. The other dishes at the next table also looked questionable.

Unfortunately very bad, food was neither good nor was the service great, won't come again.

Two comments first: A basic requirement for visiting this restaurant is the willingness to pay a reasonable price for food❗ In addition, on the first page of the menu it is stated that in this restaurant the "you" is used. If you don't want that, you should stay away. Otherwise everything was excellent❗ No matter what it was about, whether cake, ice cream, drinks or dishes, everything was served in an extremely attractive manner. So successful that there were even short conversations with strangers at the neighboring tables and people laughed together. And this puts the statement I made in the first comment into perspective: Yes, if you want cheap, you have to go to a fast food chain! Here, high-quality goods are served in an attractive manner by attentive (but NOT intrusive) staff❗ When the weather is good, the terrace is a special feature: The name of the restaurant is based on the fact that it is located in the tower of Schönhagen airfield. With a bit of luck, which we had, you can even see historic aircraft taking off or landing. For calculation, if your interest has been aroused: We had a cheeseburger (should be called a tower burger, as high as it was), a veggie burger (made of sheep's cheese and grilled watermelon loaded with lots of greens), a portion of French fries (I couldn't finish them, luckily my companion helped and still some remained 😅), 0.5l beer and 0.33l draft soda (Rixdorfer / glass bottle, the only one I buy privately). The bill was €45.90 and in our opinion, considering the quality, portion size, environment and service, it was worth every cent! A fair price that only seems high at first glance❗ We were extremely satisfied, it couldn't have been better... Next time I'll order a meat dish, the ribs from the next table looked inviting (even though I was stuffed 😉) A question to the operators: There were no ashtrays, not even outside. Is smoking permitted? Since we only stopped for one stop, it wasn't important; I simply didn't smoke for a few minutes! However, it would be definitely relevant for future visits! And, because it wasn't asked for below: a drinking bowl was brought along with the menu without being asked for a dog at the next table.

A really good restaurant with a great view. We've been there twice for brunch (vital breakfast and normal breakfast) and a few times at coffee time. Both very tasty with fresh toppings, fruit, antipasti and homemade dips and bread. The cake is also very tasty and obviously homemade. The staff is also very friendly - apart from stressful situations. You feel completely comfortable. The prices are not cheap, but appropriate for the location and the quality of the food. We'd love to come back.

A great restaurant with outdoor terraces directly at Schönhagen Airport. You can watch the small aircraft take off and land. The service is great, the food is delicious and affordable. You can have breakfast with family, friends or colleagues from 10:30 a.m. or have a delicious coffee and cake or ice cream in the afternoon. Definitely worth a visit. I can only recommend it.

Very good view and very tasty food but a bit expensive

This is the very best restaurant I know! The service is extremely friendly and you are always warmly welcomed, even when it gets busier, the ladies always keep an overview. And the food is prepared with so much love, it's worth every penny to me.

I only went for ice cream with my two daughters and I have to say that the service was very nice and friendly. The ambience was really nice right at the airport with a beautiful view from the terrace. The spring mint ice cream with salt, lemon pesto and meringue is not something you'll ever hear, but it's damn tasty and the nice thing about it is that everything is made in-house, everything is freshly prepared, whether it's cake, ice cream, chocolate or the actual food. Simply insane. I can only recommend everyone to spend a wonderful evening there. We will definitely come back and not only order ice cream but also eat properly. I'm already looking forward to it... A cute little café for a surprisingly stimulating tour break. Already on the way there you are amazed at the unexpected size of the facility, look over the fence along the runway, watch aircraft taking off and landing, everything within reach. Then we walk past the hangars; the exhibits on display invite you to linger and take photo memories. In the tower then up on foot or in the elevator, into the indoor restaurant if necessary or, if the weather is good, out onto the terrace, which faces directly onto the airfield. From the seats there you can watch small and large aircraft as they practice, approach, take off, take off and quickly refuel after landing... fascinating. Loving and quick service, the “you” is obligatory in aviation circles, delicious sweets, savory dishes, what more could you want? Be sure to ask your waitress what you want to know about the airport, super interesting, but please don't forget to tip properly, after all, a place like this depends on the people who work there and if they leave for financial reasons, as can unfortunately be seen so much elsewhere, That would be a bitter loss for this interesting location. I didn't really expect such a small, interesting airport so hidden south of Berlin. Take a tour there, whether by bike, motorbike or car, there are enough parking spaces... and it's worth it.

The cockpit is a lovely place to relax and linger, watch gliders take off and land and eat and drink really well. I had an elderberry fizz, a delicious salad as a starter, a vegi burger and mint ice cream with chocolate pieces and a brownie. Everything was super tasty and freshly prepared. The service was TOP, super nice and attentive. I'll definitely come back again, although my heart beats a little more for the sibling restaurant Harveys. 😊

We can fully confirm the many other positive reviews. A truly magical little restaurant with excellent cuisine with a Swiss twist (the chef is Swiss) and excellent service. Plus an exciting location with a view of the runway and a beautiful terrace. All of this at very reasonable prices. There are many good and expensive restaurants in Berlin and Potsdam. But out here, the Cockpit is the best place around.

Discovered by chance on the return journey, delicious food, cool staff and if you're lucky, you can experience the flight transfer of professionals like the Eisbären or the FC Bayern players. Great experience.
