Toscana Restaurant Pizzeria - Waghaeusel in Waghäusel

We would have liked to eat here, even though the exterior didn't look all that inviting. We specifically checked the opening hours beforehand and arrived at 1:45 pm (closing time is 2:30 pm). When we arrived, we were rather rudely informed that they were closing at 2 pm, while we were already finishing our lunch. We certainly would have finished by 2:30 pm, as we were about to leave. It's a real shame; we would have liked to give the restaurant a chance, even though the Google reviews and the exterior appearance weren't exactly appealing.

Portions a bit small for the price. Taste very good.

I ate pizza last night and didn't think that in 2025, food could still be so bad. Terrible pizza, still a bit hard to digest.

We ate here on October 30th when we dropped off our campervan at Stäbler's. The tomato sauce was the most delicious... I had fresh mussels with tomato sauce... We're picking up the campervan again tomorrow and I hope I can have those delicious mussels and especially that sauce for lunch too... so fresh 😋😋😋

Delicious food is still possible. The Pizzeria Toskana in Kirrlach proves it. Wonderful!

Delicious food & a relaxed atmosphere – always a good choice Toskana in Kirrlach is a lovely place to sit and relax – both indoors and outdoors. It's ideal for a leisurely meal, but also great for takeout or delivery, which we regularly use during our workday. The service is friendly, and the selection of pizzas, pasta dishes, and salads is delicious and consistently good. Conveniently, Toskana is also listed in the Schlemmerblock (a discount booklet for German restaurants) – so we visit at least once a year… and it usually doesn't stop there 😉

The entrance area does not look very inviting; the front door urgently needs to be cleaned of cobwebs and dust.

The food is good and the service is okay. However, the ambiance could definitely be improved. It looks a bit dated.

Unfortunately, Toscana isn't what it used to be. On our last visit, we had to wait an hour for our food. Then, for the seventh time, the salmon in one of our dishes was still raw inside. This surprised me greatly, especially since the owner himself has been preparing the food in the kitchen since January. The dish was sent back and then recooked in the microwave. As regular customers for many years (at least every two weeks), we would have at least expected an apology from the owner, but unfortunately, he couldn't bring himself to do so. Also, presumably because of our complaint, we didn't receive the obligatory grappa this time. After this experience, we won't be visiting Toscana again, despite the 23 km drive.

I had ordered gratinated pasta with minced meat sauce and I had pasta with tomato sauce in a water broth. I had wished for some fresh garlic to be sprinkled on top but it was just garlic powder from the jar. I'm definitely not coming back

Everything was fine, except the room was unheated. The heating was only turned on after we asked... We didn't take off our jackets...

The service was friendly, and the (mixed) salad was delicious. The pizza was okay, but nothing more. Some kebab shops have better pizzas. Plus, they all look exactly the same except for the toppings. They're either baked in a baking tray or store-bought and just topped with "fresh" toppings. Neither is particularly exciting, and the pizza bears no resemblance to the picture on the menu.

We came with a gourmet block, which is perhaps why it took so long to get our salmon and rump steak. We only got cutlery after asking. My rump steak was good, but the portions were very small. We had to eat it quickly because it was only lukewarm to almost cold. The place was deserted. We were the only ones left. I have to say, we were there at Christmas, five of us, and it was even worse. Zero service, and we were also the only ones in the place. I definitely won't be going back.

Very good quality and first-class service. Prices are mid-range. Highly recommended.

Not so good, tried the Jägerschnitzel on a trial basis, wasn't satisfied, which is a real shame.

We received a very friendly welcome and our children received their pizza very quickly as they couldn't wait. Super tasty stone oven pizza and the pizza bread with my salad was super tasty and crispy. We'd love to come back. Top service

Went there spontaneously for lunch today and have rarely been so positively surprised! The salad plate as a shared starter was simply incredibly tasty, with some tuna and the right amount of trimmings and simply phenomenal dressing. Plus pizza that came out of the oven just right, nice and crispy but still juicy. And with friendly service and fair prices. Absolute tip!

Pizza was super good, lots of fresh ingredients baked to perfection, the salad was also super fresh and wonderful dressing, the service was friendly and very good, one star deducted from the ambience because the phone for orders is annoyingly loud. The dark stairs without sufficient lighting to the entrance inside the pizzeria are highly dangerous

Ordered pizza and was only lukewarm when I picked it up. The “giant pizza” has a d=33 cm, the “normal” one has a d=25 cm. It's a relatively doughy pizza that doesn't have any worse or better toppings than others. But what I don't think works is lots of oregano (they did that in the 80s). One point deducted each due to the size and the spice. The price of the “normal” one is probably justified by the size.

I was really looking forward to the saltimbocca because I really like eating sage. Unfortunately, not a single sage leaf was to be found in the food. When I asked, it was explained to me that the sauce was refined with sage powder (cannot be tasted), as fresh sage would wilt too quickly. That's an absolute no-go for me! Also, the side salad was drowned in sauce, which I don't particularly appreciate either.

Here we cook like your Italian mother would, authentically and with good, genuine ingredients. Due to the personal, very friendly service and extremely accommodating hospitality, we feel absolutely comfortable every time. Our favorite Italian, which has no equal even south of the Alps!

Since my last review 🤔"IN A MIRACLE WAY"🤔 disappeared, here it is again (only this time without pictures) The pizza was delicious, unfortunately everything else was okay. Patty reaction from the owner when we complained that the salmon was a bit too cold :( Unfortunately he didn't show up at the table after that, not even when our glasses were empty and we were thirsty. This was topped by a completely moldy toilet room! Even if you recently had water damage (THAT TIME), THAT WON'T WORK AT ALL - ⚠️Mold in all colors⚠️ - but the toilet room felt heated to 40 degrees (probably to save yourself an expensive drying device) Acute health risk!!! To expect something like that from your guests is simply unacceptable. As long as there are wet walls and mold in a restaurant, it must remain closed until the damage has been repaired, period. Unacceptable for me and therefore reason enough to post this again. As a guest you should be allowed to be informed about such things without such reviews being removed!! We enjoyed eating here often and with pleasure. After this experience, however, for the last time.

Definitely recommended. The pizza is the best I've eaten in a long time. The waiter was also very nice. This was certainly not our last visit.

Another visit to the Toscana restaurant, with “our” Antimo. A short vacation, with fresh, Mediterranean dishes and a very courteous owner...that's what awaits the guest...5 stars and more... grace

Schönes Lokal, wie man es sich unter einem italienischen Restaurant vorstellt. Nicht dieses kalte moderne Ambiente! Das Essen war gut, der Salat jedoch nicht so schön angerichtet. Ich persönlich hätte mir ein bisschen Hintergrundmusik gewünscht.

Habe hier am Montag, 08.05.2023 gegen 20:15 etwas zu essen (Salat + Spaghetti) bestellt, da dies im Umkreis eine der wenigen Pizzerien war, die offen hatte. Das Essen war recht schnell fertig (15-20 Minuten). Zu den Räumlichkeiten selbst kann ich nichts sagen. Ich war hier mit Freunden vor vielen Jahren schon ein, zwei mal und hatte es deshalb positiv im Sinn. Das war allerdings samstags / sonntags. Ob seitdem der Besitzer gewechselt hat, kann ich nicht sagen. Geschmacklich war es OK, aber auch nicht überdurchschnittlich. Die Portionen waren auch ausreichend groß. Was mich allerdings etwas irritiert hat, war dass außer dem Chef und mir niemand sonst anwesend war; keine Gäste, keine Bedienung. Ob in der Küche noch jemand war oder allgemein montags nichts / wenig los ist, kann ich nicht sagen. Irritiert und geärgert hat mich allerdings, dass es laut Beleg 21,- € kostete, an sich ein normaler Preis. Allerdings wurde der Beleg erst auf Nachfrage erstellt. Vorher wurde mir 19,- € gesagt, bezahlt habe ich dann 20,- € bar. Das Beleg anfordern wurde mit Erstaunen kommentiert. Seltsam außerdem, dass man den offenbar versuchten Steuerschwindel mit einem saloppen Spruch auch noch als "Da haben Sie ja was gespart" verkaufen wollte. Schade, hier wäre ich ggf. Kunde gewesen, so aber nicht.

Normalerweise würde ich weniger Sterne geben bzgl. meines letzten Besuchs. Da ich aber vor 1 Jahr schon einmal da war & hier alles gut war, 2 Sterne. Warum für das letzte Mal nur 1 Stern? Essen war lecker, aber zu wenig. Große Cola einfach nur das kleine Glas randvoll. Eine Frechheit war aber, dass so von den vielen Heizungen nur ein kleiner Teil ging. Bei deutlich unter 10 Grad Celsius draußen ein NoGo. Darauf angesprochen meinte der Kellner, es hätte 19 Grad. Klar. Ich sitze mit T-Shirt, Hemd & Sweatshirt frierend da, wenn es 19 Grad hat. Später behauptete er gar, es hätte 25 Grad. Keine Anstalten, etwas an der Kälte zu ändern - obwohl auch andere Gäste in Winterjacke da saßen. (Bei 25 Grad würde ich mit kurzer Hose dasitzen...) Leider daher keine Empfehlung

Selten so gut gegessen. Service hervorragend, Preise noch moderat. Der Grappa ging sogar aufs Haus, obwohl wir mit dem Schlemmerblock da waren. Parkplatz direkt gegenüber. Wir werden wieder kommen müssen.

Ambiente etwas altbacken, und es war etwas zu kalt um Raum. Service war gut und höflich und das Wichtigste, die Pizza war lecker

War heute abend mit meiner Tochter dort essen. War sehr lecker und sehr nette Bedienung. Auch preislich absolut i.O.

Bedienung vom Chef nicht besonders professionell. Pizza Pescatore war gut, viel Belag und Boden cross und nicht zu dünn. Pizza Diavolu gut scharf und etwas saftiger, gut gelungen. Momentan etwas kühlere Räumlichkeiten, Jäckchen ist angesagt. Ambiente angenehm, wir kommen gerne wieder.

Wir sind durch den Schlemmerblock zu diesem Restaurant gekommen. Kleines, gemütliches Lokal, gut besucht. Die Servicekraft war freundlich, aber da er alleine war mussten wir sehr lange warten, bis wir unsere Karten bekommen haben und dann auch nochmals bis unsere Bestellung aufgenommen wurde. Bis die Getränke kamen ist ebenfalls etwa eine halbe Stunde vergangen, so auch bis zum Essen. Wir haben einen Salat bestellt, der vergessen wurde aber die Pizzen waren frisch und sehr lecker. Bis jemand zum kassieren kam mussten wir auch lange warten. Für einen Besuch sollte man viel Zeit einplanen.

Sehr freundlicher Service, super leckere Pizza und absolut leckeres Tiramisu, wir sind begeistert und kommen gerne wieder!

Für mich persönlich die beste Pizza die ich je gegessen habe. Gehe seit Jahren in das Restaurant und kann es nur weiterempfehlen. Sehr freundlicher Service faire Preise. Fahre inzwischen ab und zu die 250km nur um diesen Gaumenschmaus essen zu können.

Schöne Ambiente, sehr nette, freundliche Bedienung. Gute Auswahl an Pizza, die frisch von Offen serviert werden und andere Gerichte einfach lecker. Sehr zu empfehlen. Nur der Biergarten konnte etwas mehr Flair haben.

Mehr als 2 Sterne sind nicht drin und das auch nur wegen der ansprechenden Atmosphäre. Unser Essen war diplomatisch ausgedrückt " Genießbar", mehr auch nicht.

Wir besuchten den Biergarten des Ristorante Pizzeria Toscana nach einer radtour. Wir brachten Hunger und großen Durst mit. nach einer Minute war schon der Service am Tisch, an dem gerade vorher Gäste aufgestanden waren. Das waren dann die freien Plätze im Schatten. Alle anderen Plätze waren in der prallen Sonne. Bei ca. 30 Grad nicht angenehm. Der Tisch wurde dann erstmal feucht abgewischt. getränke standen dann nach 5 Minuten auf dem Tisch. Vorsicht!! Wer süßen Radler gewohnt ist (Bier mit Zitronenlimonade) muss das hier dazu sagen. Ansonsten bekommt man ein saures Radler. Bei meinm Durst war mir das aber auch egal! Wir orderten als Vorspeise einen Nizza-Salat, welcher sehr gut schmeckte. Schön frisch, tolles Dressing (nur ganz helle Salatblätter, keine dunkelgrünen), aromatische Tomaten, leckere Oliven. Danach gab es einmal Tortellini ala Panna und eine Pizza Toskana. Die Tortellini waren echt super gelungen, tolle Sahne-Sauce, mit Parmesan darüber.. wirklich sehr gut. Die Pizza war außen schon recht dunkel, innen hätte sie noch eine Kleinigkeit brauchen können. Aber sehr gut belegt mit frischen Zutaten. Auch sehr lecker! Also da waren wir nicht das letzte Mal...

Hier wird man absolut freundlich bedient. Das Restaurant hat eine sehr angenehme Atmosphäre, es gibt auch Stühle für Kleinkinder. Die Pizza ist super lecker.

Eher nicht zu empfehlen. Ich wurde erst lange ignoriert, obwohl ich um 20 Uhr zur normalen Zeit da war. Habe dann gerufen und konnte meine Bestellung aufgeben. Das Essen kam sehr schnell, die Nudeln waren jedoch kalt. Der Wirt war freundlich, jedoch ist hier sehr viel Luft nach oben.

Die Pizza war ok, aber für den Preis etwas klein. Die Nudeln dagegen waren leider sehr geschmacksneutral. Die Soße war wässrig und bestand zum Großteil aus Käse.

Ich bin jahrelange Kundin der Toskana. Egal ob früher in ubstadt oder jetzt Kirrlach ich komme immer sehr gerne. Die Pizza und Pasta Gerichte sind sehr lecker. Das tiramisu ein Traum. Der Chef ist sehr freundlich. 5 verdiente Sterne

Vorweg; Die Pizzen und der Salat waren geschmacklich sehr gut. Aber leider war die Pizza für den Preis von 9.- Euro echt viel zu klein und der ital. Salat für 8.- Euro einfach zu teuer. Schade, dass hier das Preis / Leistungsverhältnis überhaupt nicht stimmt.

Wir hatten die Lasagne genommen. Diese war sehr lecker. Wir würden wieder kommen.

Sehr leckere Pasta, auch die Pizza ein Gedicht. Nur leider stimmt oft das ausgewählte Salatdressing nicht.
