Locale nel centro di Karlsruhe che propone piatti buoni - ma non eccezionali - della cucina spagnola rivista in chiave italiana. Da alcuni dettagli - ad esempio il modo in cui viene servito l’jamon o la proposta in carta delle melanzane sott’aceto - si capisce che c’è un’influenza da cucina da sud Italia, più che genuinamente spagnola. Ambiente caldo e che richiama le atmosfere ispaniche, conto troppo salato. Non tornerei.

Fine tapas, good wine and the landlord also takes the time to talk to you. I particularly liked the pickled aubergines, so I tried the recipe the next day; they have now been in the vinegar for 14 days. Simply good.

Ein kleines und feines Lokal. Wenn das Wetter besser gewesen wäre, man könnte denken man ist in Spanien. Freundliches Personal, hilfsbereit und nichts ist zu viel. Findet man heute selten. Mario ist jederzeit gut gelaunt und überträgt es auf sein Personal und auf die Gäste. Der Wein ist immer gut, die Auberginen eine Granate. Wir waren vor drei Jahren während der Messe zu Besuch und dieses Jahr auch. Privat waren wir auch schon bei Mario zu Gast. Danke an das Team und an Mario. Weiter SO

Leider hat das Restaurant keine Außenbestuhlung und der Abzug lässt zu wünschen übrig ABER …. Tolles Essen, Qualitativ hochwertig und top zubereitet. Der Inhaber sowie das Team super freundlich, alle sind bemüht den Gästen einen tollen Abend zu bescheren. Immer wieder ein Genuss dort zu essen.

It was my first time in a tapas bar. There were six of us. The service was super friendly, asked questions again and again and was attentive. The food was varied and delicious. The portions sometimes seemed small to me. The restaurant is getting old, which on the one hand seems cozy, but on the other hand an update to the toilets wouldn't be bad.

Nice little restaurant with a large selection of tapas. The food was delicious, unfortunately everything was very garlicky. The disadvantage is that when you come out, your clothes, your hair and everything smells like the kitchen. Otherwise we had a nice evening with good service.

Nice tapas bar in Karlsruhe. The tapas taste good, but the price is very ambitious. Fried shrimps for 20 euros are definitely too expensive.

Top shop, very small in itself, which creates a certain noise when you are there and the shop is full. But it also gives the store its charm. The food is outstanding, greetings go out to the chef and the staff!

Essen war lecker und Service war sehr gut!

Auch wenn es gut besucht ist und den Eindruck einer angesagten Location macht, ist das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis schon lange nicht mehr okay.

Endlich mal wieder eine authentische Tapasbar. Die Tapas waren super lecker und alles frisch zubereitet. Wir sind auf gut Glück hingegangen und haben noch einen Platz bekommen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und ebenso authentisch wie das Ambiente. Die Preise sind an der oberen Grenze. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Best Tapas in town. So tasty. The place is always packed, so reservation is obligatory. The only thing I would ask for is better drinks. The wine is okay, beer is nice, but the sangria - of all the drinks you could fail - is just meh.

Waren zu viert dort. Jeder hat etwas anderes bestellt. So hatten wir eine sehr gute Auswahl um möglichst viele unterschiedliche Tapas zu probieren. Jede einzelne war der Hammer. Der Service war total nett und kam immer mal wieder um sich zu erkundigen ob alles ok sei. Der Chef ist sehr sympathisch und kümmert sich ebenfalls sehr lieb um seine Gäste. Lekkere tapas en goede sfeer met veel Spaanstalige medewerkers

Ich war da vor Jahren schon einmal und zwar sehr begeistert. Jetzt fand ich die Tapas leider nur ganz o.k. aber für meinen Geschmack viel zu teuer. 60 Euro für vier verschiedene Tapas und zwei Getränke. Das brauche ich nicht mehr.

Nette, kleine Tapas-Bar mit super liebem Personal. Das Essen ist lecker und steht auch recht zügig (trotz extrem vollem Laden) auf dem Tisch. Lediglich das Ambiente, die Lage und die Preise trüben den Besuch etwas, was mich leider zu Abzügen zwingt. Im Großen und Ganzen aber empfehlenswert. Wir kommen wieder.

The moment you arrive to the place you can smell the Spanish flavour. The place is fully decorated as a traditional Spanish tavern. The staff working there are super welcoming and friendly. Given the fact that is a tapas bar, the prices are quite high for such a dish, but most of the tapas are tasty. My top 1 has to be Boquerones en vinagre (not to be confused with the fried boquerones!). I do not recommend the Serrano ham though, you end up paying a fortune for cheap quality ham. Their wine selection seems nice. I would not turn this place as one of my regulars as I do believe it is overpriced, but definitely a good choice when u feel homesick.

Super leckere frisch zubereitete Tapas. Nette Bedienung und tolles Ambiente. Wir kommen wieder. Wir waren mit 2 Freunden da. Ist auch zu empfehlen, dann kann von allem probiert werden.

Wir gehen immer mal wieder in die Toro Tapasbar. Einfach weil wir wirkliche Spanien-Fans sind, gerne Tapas essen und es in Karlsruhe sonst keine Alternativen gibt. Das Lokal ist auch sehr authentisch mit kleinen Holztischen und -stühlchen, einer großen Bar und großen, offenen Fenster mit Tresen zur Straße hin. ABER: die Preise fühlen sich so gar nicht nach Spanien an und sind unserer Meinung nach auch einfach nicht gerechtfertigt. Es handelt sich ja meist um keine besonders hochwertigen oder teuren Zutaten und die Portionen sind sehr überschaubar. Datteln im Speckmantel zum Beispiel: 5 Stück für den stolzen Preis von 7,90 €. Somit ca. 1,60 € für eine Dattel. Oder die Albóndigas für 9,80 € das 4er-Schälchen. Wir haben noch nirgends 2,45 € für ein kleines Hackfleischbällchen bezahlt. Das alles trübt den sonst positiven Eindruck einfach sehr und führt auch dazu, dass man deutlich seltener zum Toro geht als man es vermutlich bei halbwegs normalen Preisen machen würde...

Eine authentische Tapas Bar. Besser geht es nicht. Es gibt die typischen Tapas aus Norspanien. Seit Corona kann man auch draußen sitzen.

Sehr gute Tapas. Leider keine Tapasrunden für zwischendurch. Patatas bravas mit 3 Soßen zur Auswahl (wie beim Inder in 3 Schälchen), keine davon wirklich pikant.

Das Essen war gut, aber da hat mir an der ein und anderen Stelle die Würze gefehlt. Die Garnelen haben kaum nach Knoblauch geschmeckt, die Albondigas hatten recht wenig Würze dran. Wir hatten eine Vorspeise bestellt, das sollten grüne + schwarze Oliven, mit Gurke und Zwiebeln sein, bekommen haben wir eine Schale mit grünen Oliven, kommentarlos. Auf Rückfrage hieß es, es gäbe nur grüne Oliven. Bei den Kartoffeln bekommt man 3 Dips dazu, davon hat mir persönlich nur einer geschmeckt. Ich empfand es auch als recht teuer. Was mich auch etwas erschreckt hat, war die Damentoilette. In der einen Kabine war die Klobrille komplett kaputt, in der anderen Kabine wurde wohl schon länger nicht mehr gereinigt, ich möchte da jetzt gar nicht zu sehr ins Detail gehen. Ich persönlich würde da jetzt nicht nochmal hingehen, weil das Komplettpaket für mich nicht stimmig ist. Die Mitarbeiter waren freundlich.

Ein Besuch fühlt sich an wie ein Spanien-Urlaub. Schon der Geruch weckt Erinnerungen. Tolle leckere Tapas, sommerlicher Wein und super freundlicher und aufmerksamer Service. Der Chef ist sehr gastfreundlich. Man fühlte sich gleich wie unter Freunden; sehr nette Gespräche. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Wir waren gestern abend hier. Aufgrund der gemischten Bewertungen waren wir hin und hergerissen im Vorfeld, wollten es dann aber doch selbst auch probieren. Leider insgesamt für uns eher enttäuschend. Tapas waren für uns nichts besonderes, haben wir auch in Deutschland schon viel besser/geschmacklich interessanter gehabt. Preislich dafür zumindest teilweise deutlich überzeugen. Bsp: Eine Pulpo Takel für 18 € mit ganz kleiner Gemüsebeilage ist ein sehr stolzer Preis. Geschmacklich/Konsistenz ok, hatten wir aber auch schon deutlich zarter. Positiv: Service sehr freundlich, urige spanische Atmosphäre. In Summe Preis-/Leistung aber nicht angemessen.

Sehr netter Service, sowohl bei Reservierung, als auch bei Bedienung. Location macht einen etwas angetaubten und unaufgeräumten und dennoch recht authentischen Eindruck. Wäre in Spanien Mittelklasse. Die Karte bietet bodenständigste standard Tapas. Die Qualität ist für Deutsche Verhältnisse gut, für Spanische Verhältnisse bestenfalls Mittelklasse. Kleine unspektakuläre Weinauswahl. Kein Bier vom Fass. Nur San Miguel und Estrella Damm (beide gibt es mittlerweile auch bei Rewe). Preislich ist das ok gewesen. Atmosphäre sehr gut. Nettes Publikum. Und nochmals: wirklich netter Service.

Ich glaube es trifft auf den Punkt wenn man schreibt: Wenn du eine der besten Tapasbars in Barcelona aufsuchen möchtest geh ins El Toro Karlsruhe :-) Im Sommer super Atmo, da man auch auf der Strasse verweilen kann. Einfach wie im Urlaub. Mario - Cheffe - ist ein Original und einfach einer der coolsten Baizer Karlsruhes.

Wir hatten eine Auswahl an Tapas. Unter anderem: Oliven, frittierte Sardellen, scharf angebraten, Artischocken, köstliche Kartoffeln, Garnelen in Knoblauch, und vieles mehr. Ein sehr schöner Abend. Kann nicht nachvollziehen, wie das unter den Top5 in KA sein soll. Das Essen ist ok soweit, nothing special und dafür ist es mindestens 30% zu teuer. Oliven bestellt, kommt das Schälchen an den Tisch, darin ein paar Oliven aber noch viel mehr Silberzwiebeln und saure Gurken. Hab ich zurück gehen lassen, dabei wäre es so einfach gewesen, uns einfach nur Oliven zu bringen. Dann eine Portion Garnelchen in Chili-Knoblauch-Öl. Lecker soweit. Allerdings dafür viel zu teuer: 14.90€ Gleiches für Pulpo: auf einem Teller lauwarme Kartoffeln von gestern, darauf ein Tentakel > 18.90€. Service ebenfalls naja… nachdem wir 15 Minuten saßen und der Kellner mehrmals um uns rum gelaufen war, Leute die nach uns da waren bereits ihr Getränk hatte, haben wir dann mal um Karten gebeten… and so on. Fazit: man stinkt danach wie eine Imbissbude, wird freundlich aber nachlässig bedient und zum satt werden sollte man den dicken Geldbeutel einstecken. Sorry no. Wir gehen sehr viel essen, auch in KA, und da gehört das Toro nicht mal unter die Top 20.

Hatten uns auf die guten Bewertungen verlassen und wurden bitter enttäuscht. Der Meeresfrüchtesalat (12,90, Meeresfrüchte?) ertrank in einer Brühe, die Hackfleischbällchen (9,80) wurden schnell aufgewärmt, die Champions (8,90) waren vor sehr langer Zeit vielleicht mal frisch. Der Pulpo (18,90 mit Kartoffeln) bestand aus einem daumendicken, ca 10 cm langen Arm. Er war zart und schmeckte mir, war aber auch völlig überteuert. Man sitzt sehr eng an kleinen Tischchen, von den Teelichtern auf jedem Tisch war trotz Dunkelheit kein einziges angezündet. Noch dazu rochen wir sehr unangenehm nach Frittierfett. Wir werden kein zweites Mal kommen.

Food was really good, service fine, but it is a shame that foreign bank cards and credit cards are not accepted. They should offer better payment possibilities, especially in a international City like Karlsruhe. Like I said good food, good wine ( little overpriced), good service.

We came without reservation on a saturday evening, but the very nice waiter found a place for us two. We enjoyed some really good tapas and great spanish red wine! It's not cheap, but definitely worth it! The bar is really small but cozy.

Very nice lively ambiance and very tasty food. However tables are very close to eeach other ( a good opportunity to chat with you neighbours). In addition ventilation is poor and smells coming from the kitchen are annoying and remain on the clothes. Definitely overpriced.

The place is cosy, typically very crowded - reservation is recommended -, they serve delicious tapas and good sangria, in winter time it is somewhat fresh when seated close to the window. Guests of all ages, good place to get in touch with others.

Went here with my wife BD her cousin while traveling in Germany. The food was delicious and my only complaint was that I ate too much. This is the kind of restaurant where you order a plate and everyone at the table eats some of it, you stop and have a drink, then order another plate. The owner (Mario) is extremely friendly and was walking around the restaurant speaking with his guests and offering input. His English is not the strongest but he speaks fluent German and Spanish and any of the waiters are able to help you if you need anything translated to English. Definitely a "must try" if you find yourself in Karlsruhe, would rate it 6 stars if I could and will definitely be going back.

I've been there one week ago with some collegaues and it was great! I think we tried all the tapas on the menu, but the best one IMHO was the one with artichokes and tomatoes. Definetly worth a visit if you are in Karlsruhe!

I invited a relative (who has lived in Karlsruhe about 40 years) to eat here. He had no idea what tapas were but was willing to try. Now he keeps talking about bringing his wife here ;-) The atmosphere in the restaurant is very nice (although it can get loud if a large group is sitting right next to you) and service is extremely attentive and helpful. The food is very yummy with effort put into achieving that typical Spanish taste explosion (it doesn't beat actually eating in Spain, but full marks for trying). When it came to paying the bill, I was pleasantly surprised. Very good food & drink for a very decent price. I can't wait to be back in Karlsruhe to come here again ;-)
