Tomasa Potsdam in Potsdam

To be honest, the restaurant is just mediocre. There is no clear culinary concept, there is something of everyone. I had the avocado mushroom bruscetta appetizer (weird combo) and the curry. It was ok, but tasteless. The prices are too high for that. The restaurant is nicely decorated, but very noisy, it was about 3/4 full. The service was friendly, but at some point they probably forgot about us. We weren't asked for more than an hour after eating if we wanted to drink or pay for something else. Too bad. I would have expected something more.

Food, service and location are just really good. Everything harmonized perfectly, I've rarely had such a good experience in a restaurant.

Yes, even highly recommended...

What was supposed to be a relaxed dinner unfortunately turned out to be a disaster over the course of the evening. First of all, the positive: The furnishings are tasteful and modern. The lighting could be a little more subtle, but that's a matter of taste. The latter is the keyword for what followed: The starter was a plate of nachos from the bag, which were gratinated with grated cheese from the bag. Unfortunately it wasn't long enough for there to be unbaked cheese crumbs between the nachos. We continued with the two main courses: the vegetarian tarte flambée was completely unseasoned. Luckily there was a salt and pepper shaker on the table. What the food lacked in salt was made up for by a piece of packaging waste in the middle of the tarte flambée. However, this dish was topped by the spaetzle with strips of rump steak. These were so inedibly spicy that we had to quickly look at the menu to see whether we had perhaps missed a spiciness notice, such as a symbol with 3 fire-breathing dragons. This was not the case. Halfway through the meal (as we all know, hunger drives you in) the surrender took place. The waiter we flagged down was informed of the grievances and offered dessert to make up for it. I like to be adventurous and brave sometimes, but eating another dish after three failures seemed like a kind of suicide mission, even to me. When we received the bill, we found out that the chef had apparently confused cayenne pepper with paprika and that the waiter, after he ate some of it himself, also found the food to be quite spicy. At this point we asked ourselves why the chef had not tasted the food beforehand and the waiter had to do it instead. It probably isn't all that surprising that we had to pay the bill in full. Of course, everyone can have a bad day, but then you should at least try to offer appropriate compensation. There will be no reunion with Tomasa for us.

Very nice breakfast offerings, sometimes from a buffet, but still very tasty. Fast and friendly service. The ambience is very nice with extremely high ceilings. Great outdoor area.

I had reserved a table. And when we arrived, we were told to take one of the tables that were still available. I had imagined it differently. The food was good, the portion was just big enough. And I'm not used to large portions. The room is well furnished. But the light in the evening was unusually bright. Almost bright, I found it uncomfortable. My wish to dim it was not fulfilled because “the boss wants it that way”. I thought the guests should feel comfortable. It's a shame actually.

Great ambience in the old lodge house and a large selection of breakfast menus. Overall, very tasty, beautifully presented, and attentive service. I especially thought the rolls were really good. But not everything is executed perfectly; sometimes the milk in the cappuccino was too hot or the sweet potato fries were a little too greasy. We were there twice. Definitely recommended!

In fact, we haven't experienced anything like this for a long time. There were four of us, the waiter was super nice, always present and honest with his recommendations. The food was delicious, warm and served quickly, so everything was as it should be. However, one of us made a mistake in our selection; his food was perfectly fine, but not his taste. The waiter recognized it pretty quickly and offered a new one. Since there was nothing fundamentally wrong with the food, we wanted to refuse at first, but he literally insisted on bringing exactly what our fourth husband would have liked and that's what happened. Great, for the first time in years that you were a guest again and the waiter really put his heart and soul into his role as host. Really great, I would have liked to write your name here to make the next salary increase clear, but unfortunately I don't know it 🥺. Of course, the later the evening, the louder it was, but the restaurant can't help it, so a full five stars in all categories and a sixth for the service. We had breakfast there for the first time and were very disappointed. It started with putting on the plate and the not freshly prepared Camembert, the minimalist salmon, Scrambled eggs had no taste, and the chicken wasn't exactly appetizing either. I thought the plate was totally overpriced. Conclusion, breakfast at Tomasa Potsdam never again.

The ambience is really nice, but it is also very loud inside, especially when the restaurant is busy. We had a table inside and could hardly understand each other. This may also be due to the rather bare walls. The service was great and extremely committed, there was nothing to complain about. I was a bit disappointed with the food, nothing really impressed me, unfortunately the guacamole was missing from the tapas plate, unfortunately we noticed this too late. Children's burgers were rather bland, ketchup, meat, a little sweet and sour sauce I would say. My steak was ok, but nothing more. What, in my opinion, deserves an additional star was the condition of the women's toilet, my daughter said it was very dirty and my wife later confirmed this. In my opinion a no go. In the summer you can certainly sit outside etc. For us it was in the restaurant, unfortunately no "I'll come back again" that day.

The service was very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately the food wasn't tasty. Part of my order was missing and the rest was dry and carelessly prepared. I also had a piece of cartilage the size of a thumbnail on a chicken skewer with 4 pieces of chicken breast (approx. 2x2cm in size). The cleanliness of the sanitary facilities left a lot to be desired. It smelled like cat urine, the toilet was dirty with feces and the mirrors were so smeared that you couldn't look at yourself. We won't be coming back. Potsdam definitely has more to offer. Thanks to the waitress for the friendly service.

A great shop in the middle of Potsdam. Food very tasty and for every taste. Large selection of food and drinks. Normally priced. Friendly service and employees. Parking spaces are available nearby.

It's worth a visit. Lots of space in summer and winter. Hard-working waiters and waitresses and of course hard-working cooks.

We have rarely had breakfast so good and in such a pleasant atmosphere. Very tasty food, friendly service and a super nice table decoration with attention to detail. We'll be back!

Super delicious food, by far the best breakfast restaurant in Potsdam, nice ambience. Nice garden to sit in in the summer. I know several stores in the Tomasa chain - the one in Potsdam is by far the best.

We've wanted to get a personal impression for a long time, yesterday we found time to have a late lunch. The creamy, less fruity consistency of the pumpkin soup was very convenient for us, as we found this to be very suitable for the slowly cooling temperatures. Accompanied by a bruschetta as a greeting from the kitchen, we were very pleased. Our main courses were also good and the scoop of chocolate ice cream was a nice finish. The ladies and gentlemen were very attentive and friendly in the process of ordering and serving. It would have been even nicer for us if our waiter had been happy to ask once in a while whether we liked the food. This could then also be combined with a request for more drinks. I would also like to encourage you to establish a more personal contact right from the start. Feel free to ask what you like and recommend dishes that go with it... that will surprise you and leave you with an even more positive memory. but only as a personal recommendation on the way to service excellence. It was a lovely afternoon and we would love to come back.

We were a group of 20 people, reservation for Saturday was no problem, the good menu offers something for every taste 👍 and the food was really good. The greatest praise goes to the service😍 our large, very thirsty group was saved from dying of thirst by very friendly waiters. Serving so many different dishes at the same time in a short time - be careful - not every restaurant can do that. Once again a big compliment and a thank you for a successful evening.

Very long waiting time, cold and fluffy fries, dessert, the plins was cold because it had been standing in the kitchen for so long. You didn't get full from the main course either. Too expensive for the amount. We made a reservation but no table was ready. They were only pushed together when we were there have come. Staff very friendly drinks with lots of water but very nice surroundings

A good restaurant with a very nice garden and friendly, helpful and considerate staff. It is difficult for people who come by car to find a parking space, but it is still worth a visit.

Nicely located restaurant with a nice atmosphere in the evening. Unfortunately it's still a bit noisy in the afternoon due to the noisy children in the adjacent Helmholtz Gymnasium, but as I said, as soon as school is out it gets nicer and nicer in Tomasa. The food itself actually tastes pretty good, the quality is really undeniable, but the prices are quite impressive. For a "Tomasa lemonade" 4 euros 50 is a bit too much when you end up with sparkling water with syrup. Unfortunately that is not in proportion. Even though it may taste good, the portion sizes are unfortunately out of proportion. 19 euros for 5 small pieces of chicken, a curry sauce with peppers and a small mountain of rice is simply not enough. And the menu may look like a lot but the food itself is simply nothing special. By the way: If the store is full, there can easily be a wait of over an hour. But the waitress apologized and offered us a bottle of water on the house.

Unfortunately we were dissatisfied with the food. The burger and fries were tasteless even though we waited so long. Crepê wasn't freshly made, but like it came from the supermarket. Hard and tasted like rubber.

We came for breakfast on the weekend and had reserved a table. After a relatively long wait, our order was taken. To our surprise, nothing happened for a long time. Now, of course, you have to add that Tomasa is obviously a popular place on weekends. Which in turn doesn't explain why we had to wait an entire hour for the food to arrive and so far we haven't been served a single drink. The service seemed attentive, but visibly overwhelmed. The food and the ambience make up for some of the disappointment, but given the prices I expect a lot more despite the high crowds. The many wasps were also very annoying, but you can't blame the restaurant for that.

Great food there, lots of choice and very tasty. Unfortunately, it is also correspondingly expensive. Just be careful with the Kaiserschmarn... the portion is very small.

This is also a Tomasa in a great location. We sat on the terrace, which is lovingly designed and has a Mediterranean flair. The food was great too, we had tarte flambée with goat cheese and beetroot and the halloumi burger with fries. The staff is also very friendly. All in all a great restaurant.

Unfortunately I can't award all the points for the food today. Ordered the same meal twice, once it came without the delicious sauce. When we complained to the unfriendly and really cheeky waiter, he said: That's how it is. I could still order more sauce. At first I thought he was joking, asked and he was serious! But the same meals were on the table twice. 1x with sauce and once dry. He would have eaten this meal 15,000 times and it would always be so dry. I answer: I've ordered it several times because the sauce is so delicious. Do you have to be so cheeky? I like to go there often and I hope that the blonde, short-haired waiter there won't be washing the customers' mouths for much longer!

A very nice location with a well-kept lawn and large terrace! Food was as always 😋 and the service was friendly! The disadvantage is that there is no parking space! I'll be back and not just to Potsdam!

Absolutely wonderful place. The food is fresh and tasty, the service is attentive and friendly - the highlight is the ambience. In the former historic lodge house in Potsdam, centrally located directly on the Dutch Quarter, you can sit and relax in the spacious garden.

'Wow what a shop' - that was exactly my thought as I walked through the inconspicuous entrance. Both inside and outside everything is coordinated with so much love and skill in terms of interior, colors, floristry and art, wow! The garden is a paradise, like a little vacation trip. Everything is so colorful and loving, from the dishes to the flowers on the table and the placemats. The service was present, super friendly without being intrusive. Finally the food: one last time Wow. I ordered the sweet potato gnocci with grilled beetroot and a piece of salmon. The combination of the individual flavors absolutely suited my taste. A really wonderful evening on my first visit to Tomasa. Thanks to the whole team. One thing is for sure, I'll be back ☀️

Today we had dinner in the beautiful Tomasa in Potsdam. The ambience of this restaurant is fantastic. It is the most beautiful Tomasa of all. Both the interior ambience and the outdoor area invite you to take a cozy break. The food was great, like in every other Tomasa. What we found great today was the service. A blonde young woman served us. She had a great charisma, was extremely attentive and served us with a smile and friendliness that we have rarely experienced. Thanks for that. It was a great experience and we would love to come back with such employees♥️

It was a really great evening. Not just the ambience, but also the food. Although the location is in the middle of Potsdam, you won't notice anything outside. Wonderfully blooming olianders frame the entire area. Our waiter Johann listened to our every wish, was super attentive and contributed a lot to our feeling of well-being. We will be back definitely!

Great dishes - there's something for everyone here. Some vegan dishes are also offered. There are also delicious drinks. The ambience is very pleasant, especially in the backyard on the terrace. Inside it often smells like smoke from the neighboring pub - a shame!

Surprisingly nice ambience for a restaurant in the city center. It's really pleasant to sit in the garden. The service is courteous and quite nice. The menu offers something for everyone. The food was delicious. Only the price-performance ratio is not quite right. The portions are not very generous. A little more and the price is right. This also applies to the drinks. The Aperol came in a wine glass and you could “see through it”. But all in all a recommendation.

We had a wonderful Sunday brunch at 11. The service staff was very friendly and accommodating. Special features and extras were also discussed. The atmosphere in the backyard was very summery and relaxed.

Great restaurant! We went to Tomasa for brunch on Sunday and although it was busy, we had excellent service (in our case a young student). The service and quality of the food are unparalleled in Potsdam. Cheers Tomasa!

After a wonderful theater performance, we wanted to have a family meal together and celebrate the first performance with our granddaughter. A table was reserved but then there was one disappointment after another. First the wrong water, three people got their dish when all the other guests had already finished. One dish, housewife-style herring fillet, was served without rosemary potatoes and some bread was simply brought without asking again. The crowning glory was the bill. The dish was charged in full and €1.50 was charged for a mini bowl of grated cheese. A herring fillet only with salad? Never heard of it or been offered it and then paying the full dish is not possible at all!! Unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant where the service was completely overwhelmed!!!

Very tasty fries, perfectly crispy, the best in Potsdam! Burger very good - relatively basic, but good. Salad with goat cheese in honey really good and lush. Service friendly and quick. The ambience in the garden was very pleasant on a mild evening. Much nicer than in the shops in the Holländerviertel, where you sit on the street.

We have enjoyed being guests at Tomasa Potsdam so far. Unfortunately we were disappointed today. Service: The waitress was extremely bad-tempered and cut us off when we asked for a special request due to an allergy. There is probably a large group there and they are going first. So we were secondary as guests. Food: In general we were satisfied but we ordered the fig ravioli with goat cheese for €17.50. See appendix for what quality you get for that much money. I can immediately think of 15 restaurants in Potsdam where you get more for your money for €17.50 with the same quality!

Food is good, as in other restaurants in this restaurant chain. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Location is also nice. Unfortunately, Tomasa Potsdam has decided to start a "small war" against the karaoke bar (Gutenberg100), which has been established here for a long time. A pity! :-(

Excellent dinner with friends! Very nice and flexible service, which organized a nice place for everyone even in the jam-packed restaurant. The menu features a variety of delicious dishes at reasonable prices. Very happy again!

Food and service generally ok. But the waitress added a tip to the card payment without asking or informing me. Without knowing it, I left a second tip in cash. I do not like this behavior. Hence one star less. Second star less for the menu only in German. It would be a good idea to translate the names of the dishes at least into English.
