Unfortunately, that was a complete disappointment. We waited over an hour for our food. It was incredibly noisy, like a train station. A normal conversation or ordering was impossible. The quality of the food, except for the tarte flambée (which was more like a cookie cake), was okay, but that's to be expected for the price. We wouldn't recommend Tomasa Potsdam to our friends. A real shame.

The food was truly some of the best I've had in a long time. The portion size was also perfect! The service was generally okay, though I would have appreciated being asked more often if I'd like anything else to drink. The ambiance was great, however, the windows and their corner could perhaps use a little extra cleaning 🤓. Otherwise, I was very satisfied and would definitely come back. 😇

We were very happy with our meal at Tomasa. The ambiance is truly wonderful, and it was very pleasant to have a conversation. The service and the wait time for the food were also excellent. We felt very comfortable. There is also a good selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes. All in all, everything was perfect, and we will gladly come back again :)

A very nice Christmas atmosphere with very friendly service.

The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere, however, was too large, too loud, and too crowded for my taste.

The food here is always good and the atmosphere is lovely. The daily menu is posted outside, but it usually doesn't match what you get in the restaurant.

Update December 2025: Once again, my colleague and I enjoyed our now traditional Christmas brunch at Tomasa. And once again, it was incredibly delicious and cozy! This time, the experience was made even better by Basti, who served us. Such friendliness, attentiveness, empathy, and warmth are truly rare these days. We felt completely at ease – and that was truly wonderful! So I simply had to give my daughter and her boyfriend a gift certificate for breakfast at Tomasa. Perhaps they'll be lucky enough to run into Basti there too 😉 December 2024: For a small Christmas brunch with my colleague, we chose Tomasa on Kurfürstenstraße. Since we arrived right at 9 a.m., it was, of course, and thankfully, almost empty. Thanks to the lovely atmosphere, the delightful service, and the delicious food, we had a wonderful and relaxed morning brunch :)

It's worth a visit. Plenty of space in both summer and winter. Hardworking waiters and waitresses, and of course, hardworking chefs.

A very nice location with appealing food.

The food was unfortunately only average. The small piece of salmon was overpriced at almost €30. Furthermore, it was overcooked and therefore too dry. The vegetables and the purée were very tasty. The service was very attentive and friendly. The ambiance was also very cozy and inviting.

The menu is very diverse, there's definitely something for almost everyone. I had beef carpaccio as a starter, simply presented, but it was missing lemon, vinegar, and oil. These were then ordered separately. For the main course, I was supposed to have Wiener Schnitzel, not Schnitzel "Wiener Art," but unfortunately, it was indeed "Wiener Art." The restaurant became increasingly crowded, and the air grew more and more stale. Due to the beautiful Christmas decorations, no windows could be opened. The service was very attentive and friendly.

Unassuming from the outside, but wonderful inside. We reserved a table for breakfast today, the first Sunday of Advent. And that was a good thing, as it filled up quickly around 10 am. Despite the large number of guests, the service remained friendly and attentive. The breakfast we ordered arrived within 15 minutes and was delicious 😋. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Unfortunately, this time was a complete disappointment. (3 stars only because of the one waiter and the quality of the food; otherwise, it would be more like 2 stars.) So, I have to say, eating in the garden in the summer is very good, but in the winter, having breakfast inside was a real disappointment. The quality was good as always, but it wasn't even remotely suitable for breakfast. To explain, I actually wanted to have brunch with my family (over 10 people). I was promised a great breakfast, similar to brunch but from the menu. Then there was practically no cold cuts or cheese. I was expecting a breakfast with all the usual cheeses, cold cuts, and then sweets like jam, honey, Nutella, eggs, cake, cornflakes, and all the other extras on top. It was very disappointing. It said "cake" on the menu, but what arrived was a terrible pancake. So, for me, it was a very bad experience, and I'm annoyed that I went there with everyone when there was so much to choose from. One waiter was very good, but the others were all too slow. When we ordered, the waiter only came 10-15 minutes after everyone had finished their drinks and we were ready to leave. The restaurant was too crowded, making conversation difficult. Therefore, I'll never have breakfast there again, but I might eat on the terrace in the summer.

Great atmosphere, fantastic breakfast with a delicious and wide selection on the plate. The only downside was the restrooms; the decor was nice, but the toilets weren't clean. Unfortunately...

Food was tasty , it is not too expensive. I ordered Ribsteak with crisp onion 31euro which were most expensive food, steak was made good (rare) . To be 5 Star it needs something very special but it is good not super

Breakfast was tasty, but I expected a bit more value for the price. I was disappointed by the pink latte, which was served rather uninspiringly in a small glass. Street parking is available, but it costs 50 cents per 10 minutes.

The service was very friendly. The atmosphere was pleasant. My wife's tarte flambée was good. My venison goulash was disappointing. The cranberry pear was just an orange slice with marmalade from a jar. The red cabbage was unseasoned and very mushy. The goulash was okay. But everything was served lukewarm. The staff's response: "Cranberry pear is a typo. Nobody knows what the owner meant by that. The food was lukewarm because the food warmer was greasy and wouldn't turn on." Bizarre! My criticism was received openly and apparently passed on to the owner. Perhaps it will make a difference. There's definitely room for improvement! My impression: They are trying hard and are friendly, but they need to work on their competence. I wish them all the best.

Freshness is a foreign concept here; the "chefs" simply unpack bags and plate the food. Everything is convenience and industrially produced, and at exorbitant prices. Don't be fooled by the beautiful interior and the building itself.

We had a lovely family evening. If there's one complaint, it's the noise level, which is a result of the architecture combined with a full restaurant. In summer, the garden terrace is a real hit.

A good friend took me to Tomasa. And I was glad I agreed, because I've never eaten such well-battered fish (from the menu) and chips. A small note... don't spread the arugula on the food, but rather on the side, and maybe offer a little dressing. But I got it immediately upon request 🫶 and it tasted incredibly delicious 😉 So, that's just complaining at a high level 😉 The waiters are absolutely fantastic, very attentive, very friendly, and always have a kind word for the guests. Prices are reasonable, and there's something for everyone. I'm looking forward to tomorrow, because I'm having visitors, and we've made reservations again 🤗 I'm looking forward to the great fish ❣️ So, we'll be back with lots of appetite and joy, looking forward to a lovely meal 😉🫶

We haven't experienced anything like this in a long time. There were four of us, and the waiter was super nice, always present, and honest with his recommendations. The food was delicious, warm, and served quickly – everything as it should be. However, one of us made a mistake in our selection; his meal was perfectly fine, but just not to his taste. The waiter recognized it pretty quickly and offered us a new one. Since there was nothing fundamentally wrong with the food, we wanted to decline at first, but he insisted on bringing exactly what our fourth man would have liked, and so it happened. Fantastic, for the first time in years that we were guests again, and the waiter truly fulfilled his role as a host with heart and soul. Truly great! I would have loved to write your name here to show you the next pay rise, but unfortunately I don't know it 🥺. Of course, the later the evening, the louder it was, but that's not the restaurant's fault, so it's a full five stars in all categories and a sixth for the service. It was a wonderful evening, and everyone was full and happy at the end. Thanks

I've been here twice for breakfast/brunch, and the second time I came solely for the lovely ambiance. Unfortunately, the breakfast (depending on your choice) consists of the cheapest cheeses, an unreasonably small amount of jam, and a lot of convenience foods, all at a hefty price. Compared to other breakfast spots in Potsdam, the quality here is unfortunately not good, even though they try to compensate for this with attractive plate presentation. The service and ambiance are great, though, and that's worth it.

We were invited to the school's induction dinner at Tomasa. The welcome from the staff was very warm. We had a lovely table in the spacious garden. The drinks and food came quickly, even though the garden was very busy. The food was delicious and beautifully presented.

We really enjoyed the service and ambiance, sitting outside on the spacious terrace/garden in the summer. The appetizer platter for two was absolutely amazing! Our main courses, however, didn't live up to expectations, which is a shame. Nevertheless, we would come back again, as the menu offers a truly interesting selection.

There are many beautiful restaurants in the center of Potsdam, and this is definitely one of those you absolutely must visit! The mix of modern and vintage style makes the ambiance very inviting, which is also reflected in the very diverse menu. Our brunch was excellent and the staff attentive! The leafy outdoor area is especially worth a visit in summer.

First of all: The service is absolutely top-notch. Super friendly and attentive! Huge compliments! The food was also fantastic. The burger with vegetables and goat cheese. A dream! We had brunch with family and friends at Tomasa Potsdam after our civil wedding – and it was simply fantastic! The team was very friendly even during the planning stages, and the service on site was also excellent. Despite a small misunderstanding regarding the brunch package vs. à la carte, which was immediately resolved professionally and cordially, we were always treated with friendliness and helpfulness. A special thank you goes to our head waiter, David, who served us attentively and very courteously throughout the morning. We felt completely at home and truly enjoyed our time there. The food was delicious, the ambiance pleasant – for us, it was the perfect place to celebrate this special day. Many thanks to the entire team – we would love to come back!

A truly beautiful restaurant, both inside and out, and the service was very friendly and prompt. Unfortunately, my meal wasn't that great; the Bolognese was pretty bland. The chef could have been more bold with the seasoning.

The service was friendly, but a bit disorganized. That could improve, though. The atmosphere on the terrace was pleasant. My veal schnitzel was delicious. The others enjoyed it, too. I would eat there again.

The food is delicious and the location very attractive, but unfortunately, the staff is not very competent. I was served the wrong side dish with my main course. Instead of correcting it, they simply offered to bring me the correct side dish. In the end, however, I was presented with the incorrect bill, which I had to pay additionally, despite the waiter's clear error and his unfriendly response. In my opinion, this is unacceptable.

Four of us, plus a small baby, were there for an early dinner. We were given hot water for the baby food. Thanks to the highchair, we were able to feed our baby in a relaxed manner before our meal was served. The food is super delicious and beautifully presented. We wanted to try every dish on the menu, but unfortunately, we had to choose :) The garden is great for sitting. You can sit in the shade under the trees or on the terrace, even in high temperatures. We'd love to come back.

The food is delicious, but not for everyone. A bit more expensive.

We were a group of 11 people. I was a bit disappointed with the chicken terian bowl. It was too much rice, and the "grilled vegetables" weren't really grilled, but drenched in oil. There's a large back area for groups. However, it's very sparsely decorated and poorly divided, so the noise level is almost unbearable for multiple groups. In nice weather, it's better to sit outside as a group. We were a bit unlucky that day. Otherwise, nothing to complain about. The other dishes all looked quite tasty. I'd describe the prices as slightly high, but the portion sizes were okay overall.

Delicious food, great seating in the garden. Despite the large number of guests, we didn't have to wait half an hour for our food. Parking is very difficult to find. It's best to arrive by bike or public transport.

The food was tasty but not exceptionally good. The staff was friendly, but they were busy that day, so they didn't pay much attention to individual tables. We'll visit Tomasa again when the weather is nice and try to sit in the courtyard.

I've had dinner twice at Tomasa, once outdoors and once indoors. It's a large restaurant which can accommodate a large group of people or just couples. The menu has a wide variety of dishes, and the service is very good.

Absolutely top recommendation! There were 16 of us there, and they immediately found a solution so we could all sit at the same table. Even our numerous special requests for food were accommodated, and the service was attentive and incredibly communicative. It was a fantastic evening, especially because of the excellent food, which you could hardly wish for better. The excellent food was almost secondary.

Unfortunately, a huge disappointment... in a city like Potsdam, there are many places with a great atmosphere, so the rest has to be just right - and with the ambitious prices, you expect the whole package. The wide selection on the menu already gave me a hint of where it would end... The food was completely unseasoned (the tofu skewers with vegetables & the chanterelle tagliatelle without tagliatelle but with a mix of found pasta...) and a total lackluster disappointment. The two different types of pasta on one plate also left me puzzled...?! The veal in the pasta was unfortunately still quite hard, the chanterelles were full of water, and the sauce was as thin as the sauce itself - unfortunate when they also don't provide spoons for the pasta. The service was very friendly. However, being asked every few minutes by different employees whether you've ordered this or that while you're looking for the right table definitely leaves you feeling uneasy... It's also a shame that the first review about it has already been deleted by the company. So, two stars became one more...

Very crowded, very loud. The food was good but expensive. A juice costing €0.40-€9 is outrageous.

I've always been very pleased with Tomasa. Today, however, I was very disappointed and sad. My asparagus dish contained an incredible four asparagus spears. At €21, that's almost €5 per spear. Very sad. Then I had the Kaiserschmarren, which was usually very good. Today it was soaked with oil and fat and was therefore unfortunately inedible. The Kaiserschmarren was served after eight minutes. Faster than the coffee. There was no restaurant manager to announce this.

Great, varied food, cooked to perfection. Very friendly and prompt staff. Reservations required. Breakfast in the summer is absolutely wonderful in the small garden. A little oasis in the middle of the city.

Great restaurant with a lovely courtyard and a small playground for children. Extensive menu, and the food has always been very good on our previous visits. It's not cheap, but the price is reasonable for the quality and the pleasant atmosphere.

It was an absolutely successful visit. The ambience was impressive, well-kept and romantic in the backyard. Our waiter was also very attentive and really nice service. The menu reads great and the food was delicious.

The house and ambience are really nice. You can sit outside in the garden and the location offers a lot of space, which makes it inviting to linger. Unfortunately, two waitresses were absent on our day and the remaining staff were obviously overwhelmed. It seemed as if there was no clear division and waiting times for orders and drinks/food were 30-45 minutes - unfortunately a no go. Many tables already had empty drinks (and couldn't order new ones) or generally had to be cleared away and yet every employee went back to the kitchen empty-handed. The food was okay, but overall there could have been a little more love.

The ambience is beautiful, a very nice garden to linger in, unfortunately you have to linger because you have to wait an hour for the menu, drinks and food. Some guests left because they weren't served at all, plates weren't cleared away, and you had to beg for an hour for the bill. Sorry, but I know something different from Tomasa Zehlendorf. The waitress apparently doesn't care about the guests. Shame about the tip. But the ambience is really very nice.

What a pleasant, friendly and nice atmosphere. The dishes are lovingly prepared and very tasty, the service is attentive and very committed. Just great! 👍👍👍

The menu is not large, but you can be sure that every meal is as fresh, crispy, juicy and delicious as you could wish for. The vegan dishes are also very convincing. My tip: ask for freshly squeezed orange juice! Reservations are recommended, or feel free to come outside of peak times, for example around 2-3 p.m. It's a very large room inside, so it gets quite loud when the restaurant is full.

We weren't happy with the food at all. Most of it was fried in the deep fryer. The sweet potato fries were too greasy and not seasoned at all. Too bad. Because the ambience is really very nice. Service was great. Of course everyone has to know this for themselves. It would just be good if the kitchen were reoriented.
