Tölzer Bräustüberl in Bad Tölz

The moment we stepped into the Tölz Bräustüberl, we felt like we were in the right place in town: The blend of Bavarian coziness, warm wood, traditional pub atmosphere, and a pleasantly festive ambiance immediately made us feel at home. Everything was well-maintained, tidy, and designed with attention to detail – exactly what you imagine an authentic Bräustüberl to be. We arrived relatively early and were very lucky: It wasn't very busy yet, so we enjoyed a peaceful start to our evening. We began with a wonderfully creamy Obazda (Bavarian cheese spread), which was perfectly seasoned – hearty, slightly spicy, and refined with fresh onions. The pretzels, which were still nice and warm, were the perfect accompaniment. For our main course, or rather, our sweet interlude, we treated ourselves to Dampfnudeln (steamed dumplings), which were lightly caramelized on the outside, wonderfully fluffy on the inside, and simply heavenly. ... Of course, a good Bavarian beer was a must – and with one or two freshly tapped Spaten beers, we were perfectly satisfied. Perfectly chilled, crisp, and just the thing to complement our meal. A big thank you to Christian, our waiter. He was attentive, humorous, warm, and pleasantly professional. His friendly manner made us feel completely welcome. Another point that absolutely must be mentioned: the restrooms. They were exceptionally clean, modern, and well-maintained – a detail that is often underestimated but contributes enormously to the overall experience. All in all, we had a fantastic visit. Great food, great beer, a cozy atmosphere, and excellent service. We will definitely be back – and we highly recommend the Tölzer Bräustüberl to everyone.

Yesterday afternoon, the two of us spontaneously decided to dine at the almost fully booked Tölzer Bräustüberl. The half duck with red cabbage and potato dumplings, as well as the grilled sausages with sauerkraut and fried potatoes, were absolutely delicious. The service was exceptionally friendly and attentive. The cozy and festive atmosphere with Christmas decorations was exactly to our taste. We will definitely be back.

Super! We went for dinner on Sunday. I called ahead to reserve a table (it was around 1:30 pm). The phone call was incredibly friendly, and we had our dog with us, which wasn't a problem at all. The food was fantastic. We had schnitzel, roast pork, and pumpkin soup. It was really, really good. Great atmosphere, great food, and great service. I can highly recommend it. 😊

Throughout the summer, we had the pleasure of frequently visiting the Tölzer Bräustüberl, which is conveniently located on our route to Gauting. The warm and welcoming greeting immediately made us feel at home. The prompt and attentive seating was just one aspect of the thoroughly satisfying service we received during our visits. We sampled a large portion of the menu and were never disappointed. Even the lasagna, usually associated with Italian cuisine, was absolutely delicious and perfectly seasoned. All the other Bavarian dishes were equally tasty, and we are already looking forward to our next visit. The well-maintained and typical Bräustüberl atmosphere is clearly appreciated by the locals, as evidenced by the large number of patrons during our visits. All in all, a harmonious dining experience with a top-notch selection of diverse and delicious dishes in a wonderfully cozy atmosphere with a superbly attentive service team. Stayed in Bad Tölz for 4 nights, ate here for 3 of them. The Bavarian food was always excellent, the best schnitzel I had during my time in Bavaria, and everything else was delicious. Service was very friendly and accommodating - on two occasions we enjoyed a beer before ordering food and the staff were happy for us to go at our own pace, never rushing us to order, which made all the difference. The lovely outside tables were comfortable and the atmosphere was just perfect.

Quaint restaurant, unfortunately no home-brewed beer, but the Spaten was still delicious ;-) I completely misjudged the snack menu and should have only ordered one dish. Swiss sausage salad would have been perfectly adequate. Friendly service.

It's (almost) about the price, not the quality. A Hefeweizen for €5.10 is too much in my opinion and will likely cause me to avoid this place in the future. Especially since it didn't taste like draft beer (although the Franziskaner brand could also be to blame for that) because the flavor wasn't as fruity and "lively" as usual, like on tap. The price would be even more unjustified. I hope you prove me wrong if the beer is on tap. The ambiance and service, of course, leave nothing to be desired. But how about a local wheat beer, like Reutberger on tap? My recommendation.

Awful Cashier System We had reserved a table for seven people starting at 12:00 PM on Father's Day. The reservation was accepted without any restrictions. We were well looked after with good drinks and food. Suddenly, and without any prior notice, the waitress literally announced to us at 3:30 PM, "The last round at four is reserved..." That was like a vicious eviction. At our request, the friendly waitress graciously showed us a cramped table by the decorative column, which we gratefully accepted. It was clearly evident that the alleged reservation was only intended to free up the table in order to generate new sales. Our freed-up table remained unoccupied for about another hour. Second attempt on June 30, 2025. At 6:00 PM, seven people occupied a free, unreserved table outside. At 7:30 p.m., the friendly waitress, on the landlord's instructions, had to explain to us that a reservation was suddenly made at 8:00 p.m. So, frustrated, we paid and vacated the table. The next guests, as expected, hadn't made reservations... There's a method to this whole thing, and hopefully it will come back to haunt us once the tourists have left and they'd rather rely on local regulars. As a group of men, we will definitely steer clear of this bar that charges customers and spread our displeasure. The term "Bräustüberl" has become a mockery here. Maximum profit over hospitality!!! Food, service, drinks OK...

We had a truly lovely stay: The beer garden is a relaxing place to linger, the food was consistently excellent, and the service was friendly and attentive – thank you very much! The only drawback: They only serve Spaten beers. So I opted for a non-alcoholic wheat beer. A comparable Augustiner in town didn't impress us as much, which is why we were all the happier to be able to spend a pleasant and enjoyable time here. Summary: A great place for a relaxing time – sitting comfortably, enjoying delicious food, and being pampered all around. A definite recommendation, we'd love to go back!

We spent a few days in Bad Tölz and on our first evening at the Bräustüberl. A really rustic inn with a lovely beer garden. Delicious Bavarian dishes like crispy roast pork with coleslaw, and a generous portion. Definitely try the Kaiserschmarrn. It's so delicious and fluffy 😋 The staff is very friendly and attentive. Next time we're in Bad Tölz, we'll eat at the Bräustüberl again.

A typically rustic Bavarian inn with good food and a typical Bavarian atmosphere. The food is hearty but also well prepared. Don't expect haute French cuisine, even though some of the dishes on the menu suggest it. It's down-to-earth, good food with a touch of haute cuisine.

Wir waren am verlängertes Wochenende sogar zweimal dort und es war zweimal fantastisch! Bei unserem ersten Besuch gab es die Brotzeitplatte und was soll ich sagen: riesige Auswahl, sehr gute Qualität, einfach top! Beim Besuch zwei Tage später gab es ein schönes Abendessen. Das Fleisch, sei es die Rinderlende oder das Schweinefilet, war perfekt gegahrt, die Beilagen war reichhaltig und lecker und in dem Soßen hätte man am liebsten gebadet. Das Personal war allzeit hilfsbereit und super nett. Einfach ein perfekter Aufenthalt. Wir kommen wieder!
