I order atleast once a week from Tokyo Gohan, best onigiri I‘ve had in Berlin and the Schweine-Miso Suppe is also really good

Absolutely amazing! My onigiri of choice are Umeboshi and Lachs. They go so well with miso soup!

- Taste & Texture : A -the Karaage was made fresh but could have been a bit crispier, otherwise the Karaage ben would have been S tier, the rest of the bento was very very tasty and fresh. Also, the yukari onigiri was S tier can highly recommend for vegans. - Authenticity of the food: S - I'm no onigiri expert but the chef used authentic fillings (afaik)and I can say with confidence that I've had worse onigiri in Japan. - Service : S - Super friendly wait staff that speaks both English and German, very good ! -Value for money : A - It's not the cheapest meal you will ever eat, but it's certainly one of the tastier meals you will eat, the amount of food in the big bento was also certainly enough to leave me satisfied. Also you can't put a price on being transported to Japan, if only for a few bites ;). [If the owner ever ends up reading this review: could we please please get karashi mentaiko onigiri on the menu ? If only for a few weeks as a special item or something ?]

I lived in Tokyo for some time 15 years ago and have been looking for authentic onigiri in Berlin ever since. A few years ago there were some at the Schönleinstraße subway station that came close, but not really. Here at Tokyo Gohan it finally tastes like it does in Japan! Perfectly prepared rice in a seaweed sheet with fresh, original fillings. Splendid! Hope you stay with us for a long time

We had the pork belly kimchi onigiri and salmon onigiri as well as karaage. I highly recommend the pork belly kimchi onigiri. The onigiris are very generously filled and freshly prepared. I personally like the amount of salt in the rice. It's just a little difficult to bite through the nori because all the warm rice makes it soft and chewy. The karaage were not good - were way too greasy and were swimming in oil. I also find it a bit too expensive.

Best onigiri in Berlin!! It is rare to find real authentic onigiri place in Berlin these days, but I could finally find flavors of my homeland, Japan! I’ve been here already for five times and they never disappoint me for their great foods and warm service. Lachs-Onigiri and Karaage (Japanese fried chicken) are my absolute favorite!

If you eat onigiris in Berlin then only here! The onigiris are super tasty and also nice to touch. There is also a whole range of varieties to choose from here. I would have loved to try everything. It's hard to compare onigiris with ready-made onigiris in the supermarket or Asian shops. The rice was perfect too, not mushy or dry. I just have to figure out how to eat the onigiris properly without them falling apart. It's self-service here, which is totally okay and the salesperson was also very friendly. Unfortunately, I can't say much about the ambience because it wasn't particularly furnished, but that's totally irrelevant to the store. 🍙❤️

Decent onigiri in Berlin, especially at the very cheap price point. Main reason it's 4 stars instead of 5 is that the salmon onigiri was dry and under seasoned. The mushroom onigiri and the ramen pork onigiri are worth ordering.

Unfortunately not the best experience! Unfortunately the chicken was neither seasoned nor crispy. Some onigiris were great (kimchi, tuna), others were rather bad. The salmon barely tasted good and another onigiri still had bones in it. There was a really delicious yuzu lemonade!

I love onigiri so I had to check this place in Berlin. Their onigiris were good and stuffed but for me they were a bit pricey compared to other sushi places in Berlin (€4,50-€6,00 each). I was a bit disappointed too that they didn’t have onigiri with raw fish in their menu, they were all with cooked fish and meat but overall we enjoyed our onigiris. We went for a take out and the service was pretty fast, the lady that served us was really nice to translate everything in english in their menu.

I highly recommend Pickeled Plum (Umebushi) Onigiri.

Karage was clearly not fried, asked for it to be more cooked, and was just put in a microwave and reserved. Was hoping to have fried chicken instead of feeling ill. Absent service and sauce would have been nice (i know it's not sushi)...

pretty chill place in a couple minutes it was served to us still hot and very fresh. My friend got one with avocado and me myself with pork and kimchi. Everything was on point highly recommended top 10 places for a quick grab

Perfect onigiri! must-try in Berlin

The onigiri here are pretty tasty. I was there twice and both times I waited 25-30 minutes for two onigiri. I found it a bit long since there wasn't really anything going on. But the taste is 10/10

Absolutly Must Go, onigiris are very delicious! I tried the onigiri Ramen pork, Kaarage chicken and salmon and liked all of them very much.

Ultra tasty, good portions and super sweet

Unfortunately, both of my onigiris were super salty and the karage wasn't crispy. Carelessly arranged on the plate. Price performance wasn't right. It's a shame, I was really looking forward to it for a long time. Except dining area was messy and didn't seem very inviting. I rarely write reviews, but here I was very annoyed and couldn't help it.

I recently visited the restaurant and ordered a bento box which included two onigiris and two pieces of karaage. Unfortunately, my experience was anything but satisfactory. The presentation of the bento box was very bland and unappealing. The karaage were cold, extremely greasy and completely uncrispy. This was very disappointing as I was hoping for juicy and crispy chicken pieces. The onigiris didn't convince me either. The price of 5 euros per piece is absolutely not justified. The ratio of rice to content was not balanced and definitely could have been better. I found the additional charge of 40 cents for a small fish-shaped soy sauce package particularly annoying. I found this to be completely exaggerated and incorrect. Overall, the food was disappointing and not at all appropriate for the price. I hope the restaurant rethinks its quality and pricing policy to provide better experiences for its guests in the future.

We ate two different bowls with two people and they were without exception a bitter disappointment and that for the price of €16 each! €32 for absolutely mini portions - we really felt cheated. Never again. There are so many very good restaurants on Dieffenbachstrasse - this is definitely not one of them. It's a mystery to me how people sometimes come to a different rating here!

Not really impresse by this place, unfortunately. The rice was a bit tasteless and mostly white, the fried chicken also had a strange favourite and texture. The space is very empty and undecorated.

I came all the way from Stuttgart. I was more impressed than I expected! Japanese rice balls 🍙 also available at specialty stores As delicious as it is! You are studying well. The founder is also from Chofu. It was friendly and fun!

It´s okay at best. As long as you don´t come here with high expectations you should be fine. We tried 3 different Onigiri and the Karage (fried chicken). Neither was more than okay. Considering the price you´d expect more. No dipping sauces, not even Sojasauce is included in your order. Fillings are basic, under seasoned and on the dry end.

We really enjoyed the freshly prepared onigiri and karaage. The ratio between rice and filling of the onigiri was just right. Unfortunately, the atmosphere is a bit rustic and unloving, which is why it only gets 4 stars.

Waiting time is forever long, should get more employees. The food can be as good as it wants, but that is not sustainable! One person in the kitchen & one person in service, how is it supposed to cope with this rush?

Great onigiri! They are freshly prepared and very tasty. They are really very well filled and slightly warm. The fillings are very varied, everyone will find something here. The service was very nice and it was something different. The shop is somehow special because it only impresses with its food. Inside everything is a bit makeshift as far as the dining room is concerned. Would go again and again!

We visited the restaurant at 12.40 and ordered two Bento Boxes with Karaage. The Karaage were honestly the best i ate until now and the onigiri were big and generously filled. I would def come again!

I've been a fan since the Dresden days! I was sad when I moved to Berlin, but I was finally able to visit the new store! It's even more powerful than before, the menu has expanded, and you can now eat and drink inside! We also have pork soup 😋 Fried chicken is also great! An unprecedented onigiri boom is coming to Berlin! This is a recommended shop 😋

Highly Recommended. You really shouldn't be put off by the temporary setup. It has a certain charm and the food is fantastic. My recommendation was the onigiri “Ramen Pork” but also the rest of the onigiri that I ordered were very tasty and I was only able to try a small fraction of the entire selection. The visit was an absolute highlight. The next time I visit Berlin, it will definitely be at the top of my list.

Leckerste Onigiri, unbedingt hingehen! Kleiner Laden, man sitzt im "Keller", gemütlich geht anders, aber die Onigiri sind es wert! Total freundliche Mitarbeiter, die auch Sachen empfehlen.

3 x probiert.. reicht. Reis ist schön fluffig. Service etwas langsam. Ambiente etwas arm. Meinen Geschmack trifft es irgendwie nicht. An die Experten die sich das Liefern lassen.. Natürlich sieht das nicht mehr top aus wenns geliefert wird! Wie auch..mit Rucksack und Treppen hoch etc Tip an euch: wie wäre es mit Aufkleber statt Kugelschreiber
