The Sexton's House in Hann.Münden

We have rarely eaten as badly as we did in the Sexton's House. We also cannot explain how such an influx occurs in summer (tables and benches outside). After we had the drinks, there was no demand, small or large, we were able to order our food. The food was on the table after five minutes. The only thing that was fresh was the french fries from the deep fryer because we could hear them going in there. The schnitzel was a ready-made schnitzel and was probably put in the deep fryer right away. It was still very greasy on the outside. My meal, herring with boiled potatoes and parsley, consisted of two parts of herring with a thick quark on top with a few pieces of apple and gherkin and onion. So the matjes wasn't in a cream sauce. The boiled potatoes were most likely heated in the microwave; a fine, firm skin had already formed. And the parsley was dried from a jar. Actually, I'm not a food complainer, but the whole thing for €38.40 isn't worth the money. This meal was bad. We always thought the Sexton House in Hann. Münden is something very special. But no. It has the feel of a snack bar. We won't come back, once and never again.

If anyone wants to have warmed up fast food, then this is the place for them. It's unbelievable that you can go so wrong with potatoes and paprika schnitzel! Schnitzel from the freezer and potatoes reheated from yesterday. The baguette was stale. However, after further inquiry it was replaced. The salad was ok so far. However, the service was very nice and helpful. Positive: The location of the restaurant is very good. Food: overpriced and not good

Monday 09/02/24. A nice outdoor space by the church... nothing more... Schnitzel with mushroom cream sauce and fries for 14.50 NEVER AGAIN, A DISASTER FOR EVERY PALATE. Every snack makes it better. The waitress was extremely surprised that we DIDN'T like it... Around the corner, at the castle, is an Italian. Pasta with FRESH FOREST MUSHROOMS! Simply delicious for €10.90, there are galaxies in between

So...we were there today. Spare ribs with potato chips. Were okay so far. But the spare ribs were missing spice, pepper and salt would have helped a lot. There was also a small pack of Berbecue sauce from "Heinz" (I didn't find it tasty). The service was extremely listless and sometimes unfriendly. The nice gentleman who brought the food couldn't have done any better The service took extremely long...the service was extremely listless the whole time and apparently our table wasn't of interest. But the poor service was confirmed when a group of 6 people left before ordering because they were simply too bad, too slow, too listless. There's definitely better food and service everywhere but here.

Good service, delicious cake, coffee was tasty. It helps if you treat wasps well.

We were in Hann today. Münden and wanted to eat something. We should have left it alone. What is slapped on your table for €14.90 could be better eaten in a motorway restaurant. This has nothing to do with a schnitzel anymore. If I sell something like that, I also have to state that it is a compressed, bad frozen schnitzel! The sauce was clearly a ready mix. And in my opinion that has nothing to do with a “traditional restaurant”! People don't do this to you. In Kassel there are a thousand better schnitzels for a narrow course! The only thing that tasted good was the beer!

Large portions but unfortunately the fries 🍟 have no taste. They seemed old and overbaked. The rest was 👌.

From the outside, the Sexton's House initially makes a good impression, but this is nipped in the bud when the waitress arrives! The order was taken rudely and absolutely demotivated with a face that looked like it had been raining for three days. There are definitely no words for what was served! A carelessly carved piece of frozen fish, surrounded by potatoes that may have waved at the salt as they passed, garnished with a sachet of mayonnaise... Every snack bar does it better! The attempt to give the whole thing another chance in terms of taste also failed miserably. When the guests at the neighboring table fled the restaurant at the pitiful sight of the dish, the waitress commented on the whole thing with "the next ones are leaving, I don't feel like it anymore!" Obviously, serious work should be done on the “corporate philosophy” here!

Nice shady corner for small meals.

We were served pasta with ready-made sauce. We got the “Parmesan” in a small bag... We could hardly get it down and they also upset our stomachs. When we cleared it, the plates were still almost full. When I said that it wasn't tasty, the waitress said it was probably not our taste, otherwise no further comment was made. The waitress served all the tables outside alone, so we had to wait a long time until we could order or pay. The toilets are on the second floor and can only be reached via stairs, there was no soap.

The food was carelessly shoveled onto the plate, everything frozen and a mini bag of tartar sauce (far too little) for too much money. The fish was no longer good and I felt sick afterwards. I got worried when several flies started bothering me after a few minutes... I didn't eat the fish and the flies then attacked it... By the way, flies like carrion. I don't have to go to a restaurant to get frozen food. I can also prepare this at home. There are fresher potato pancakes at every potato pancake stall at the Christmas market.

Deep fryer kitchen, unfortunately no longer 🙁

Eating frozen schnitzel simply, fries were in the deep fryer for too long. We got our food quickly because it was empty. It took a while to pay. The waiter passed it on to his colleague. After 15 minutes we asked politely again and were then told in a very rude manner that she would come straight away. Our first and last visit there was completely unfriendly.

The best thing was the location, view of the church, centrally located. The food was just warmed up ready-made food, there was no service (just an unfriendly person bringing the food). Too expensive for that.

Very tasty food, we had lunch there on Tuesday on a bike tour, once pasta with cream sauce and once with bolo, the next day it was good on the way back and we were there again; This time baked potatoes and always the house lemonade, highly recommended! On the way back we were a little later so we immediately added a coffee, apple strudel and cherry cake with an espresso, everything was very tasty, the quality and the price were absolutely right. The staff was very friendly and nice, always smiling. The toilets were also clean both times. There was really nothing to complain about. It is located in the beautiful old town, right next to the church with a large square.

We went there a few times during our vacation to have a drink. The location is really beautifully located. The staff is quick, drinks were served in a short time. However, both cellars are completely listless and without commitment. It's just processed. No eye contact when serving or a pained smile. I think the big advantage of the location is that there is little surface available in the area. Prices are rather expensive compared to restaurants.

The pork knuckle was very tasty, but no salad or sauce with it, dry fries. What was worse was the staff, all 4 people would rather we weren't there. Can't recommend the place. If it were possible I would have given the place minus stars. The answer from everyone was, my colleagues are coming 🫣🥴

Frozen schnitzel, frozen fish and croquettes briefly warmed up (deep fryer or plate) and ready. Nothing for older people as toilets on the 2nd floor via narrow stairs. Only the location is good. At least drinks are cold.

The restaurant is located in the old town of Hanoversch-Münden. Food nothing special.

Very central location in the city center, there is always something to see. However, I refrain from eating here after looking at the food at the tables next to me, carelessly prepared run-of-the-mill canteen food for the undemanding guest, a tourist trap in this Albanian-run restaurant in Hann.Münden, which is rated as the worst, and a shame for this beautiful location, simply check out other reviews on this... Luckily I couldn't go too wrong with an alternative bottled beer.

Food is the simplest frozen food, some cold. If necessary, it goes in. Beer also 08/15 selection. Ambience very nice. It's a shame, more would be possible here, but you don't want to or can't. The space should be given to more willing tenants. The rather cheap price for the schnitzels, for example, just matches the quality. Unfortunately the shop is also tattered from the inside...

The food is a disaster, every street snack bar could do it better and cheaper. Not to mention the quality, as only frozen products are used there and are more or less prepared in the deep fryer. You don't even need a chef (if there is one at all). The only positive thing was the nice service. If you want to eat something reasonable you should go to other places. The men's toilet was unusable (dirty and light broken) So all in all not visitable.

I cannot recommend the restaurant at all. It's nice to sit outside, but that's the only positive thing. For a "schnitzel", which doesn't even come close to worthy of the name, you pay over 14 euros. A very cozy restaurant in a small space. I enjoyed the view from the first floor window. We were served very quickly and friendly and we didn't have to wait long at all for the food. Personally, I found the schnitzel very tasty, my companion prefers freshly processed schnitzel. It's a bit cramped on the first floor, but since there weren't very many guests there, I found it very comfortable. The chairs were also very comfortable. The toilet is on the top floor, which could be a problem for people with physical limitations. I would definitely eat at the Sexton House again.

Good value for money with friendly staff

A pleasant cafe in the center of the old town. Old building, colorful interior. From the minuses - not all dishes from the menu are available. The meat in the traditional salad with chicken was burnt and therefore bitter.

The Bernais sauce offered was an imposition. Either the chef still needs to practice, but the supplier is probably very cheap, so you should change as quickly as possible.

The schnitzels looked and tasted like packaged discounter schnitzels, the fries had been in the deep fryer for too long and were already brownish in many places and unfortunately they also tasted musty. I have also eaten much better, freshly prepared schnitzel in busy places in the region for the same price (with a side salad!).

Unfortunately not recommended at all. Probably upset your stomach there. Definitely an address I cannot recommend.

Draußen mit Getränken gesessen. Service sehr gut. Getränke waren durchwachsen, Bier vom Fass ok, Schorle schmeckte abgestanden und aus einer Flasche, die schon Tage offen stand.

Das MiniMammut 😉 kam mit der 'Seinen' zum 🍷... und wurde enttäuscht... nicht so sehr der Wein - der ist ja bekanntlich an den Geschmack gebunden.... aber Ambiente und die WC Kultur sind tatsächlich ein Kriterium das wichtig ist.... Hier bedarf es erheblicher Investition... Es muss nicht immer der moderne Style sein - aber sauber und gepflegt - sind einfach wichtig.... Ein defektes PP kann / darf Mal sein - aber sauber gemacht gehört es... Schade - ein altes Haus muss nicht verfallen wirken... Alle wissen Gastronomie ist keine Goldgrube... aber etwas in Sauberkeit zu investieren - stände dem Hause 'Küsterhaus' .... mehr als gut.... nur auf Verschleiß 'fahren' bringt am Ende - schlechte Kritik..... Schade sehr schade.... 😕😔🥺

Wir saßen draußen, Bedienung war freundlich, Bestellung wurde schnell an den Tisch gebracht. Der bestellte Flammkuchen war sehr knusprig und gut belegt, sehr lecker. Die Treppe zu den Toiletten und dem oberen Gastraum, braucht unbedingt mal neue Teppichstufen. Ansonsten haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt, die Preise durchaus normal.

Ausgezeichnetes traditionelles Restaurant, wunderschön gelegen in der Mündener Altstadt. Das Essen ist ein Traum. Geheimtipps, die hausgemachte Limonade und Kindergerichte gleich mit dem Getränk bestellen und es kommt super schnell!

Leuk strandje met beachclub. Mooie plek om te zitten. Wel zelfbediening.

Droge schnitzel gegeten. Kraanwater werd niet geserveerd bij de wijn, voor een glas mineraalwater werd 4,50 op de rekening gezet. Ook de kleine zakjes mayo waren aan de prijs. Kortom, te duur voor het gebodene. Wel een mooi terras en lekkere frieten.

Erstmal zu dem guten: Das Personal war nett ! Die selbst gemachte Limo ist lecker aber dann war es das auch schon leider... Was gar nicht geht erstmal die Speisekarten verklebt vergilbt dreckig. Wir waren mit 4 Personen dort haben alle verschiedene Schnitzel bestellt was sich als Fehler heraus stellte! Essen Sie dort kein Schnitzel mein Schnitzel war unterirdisch zu lange frittiert an den Rändern schon schwarz schön Soße drüber damit man es nicht mehr sieht frech! Die Pommes komplett durchgebacken in Fritöse. Meine Frau hatte das Putenschnitzel das war OK die Soßen waren alle nicht besonders wirklich traurig ☹️

KFC er godt et par ganger i året. Denne plassen skilte seg ikke ut verken positivt eller negativt. Du får hva du forventer. Pluss for veldig fine sanitærforhold.

Das Essen war gut, Personal war in Ordnung obwohl es sehr voll war, sehr schönes Ambiente Die Preise waren vermeintlich günstig- passten dann zum Essen ( mit Salatbeilage und frischer selbstgemachter Limo - dann normalpreisig bis teuer)

Haben nur etwas getrunken . Bier war warm , Wein war allerdings sehr lecker . Teppich auf der Treppe nach oben zur 1 OG und zum WC ist nur noch Müll . Auf dem Herren WC 2 Urinal nicht zu benutzen . Der Rest sieht auch recht alt aus . Wenn die Küche genauso aussieht wie das WC dann prost Mahlzeit.

Im Küsterhaus gibt es die leckersten und knusprigsten Pommes in der Umgebung.

Zunächst saßen wir mit Hund bei gutem Wetter draußen und haben ein Bier bestellt. Dann fing es an zu regnen und zu stürmen- rein mit Hund ist nicht erlaubt. Trotzdem sind wir dort geblieben. Als wir bestellen konnten, haben wir auf Nachfrage ein Salat dazu bestellt. Der Salat war sehr lecker, die Pommes waren gut und das Fleisch war leider trocken. Wir haben für insgesamt 4 große Bier und zwei Fleischteller 88€ bezahlt. Am Vorabend haben wir in einem anderen Lokal weniger für besseres Essen bezahlt. Die Bedienungen waren bemüht. Die Preise online stimmen nicht mehr. Auf der Karte steht 19,90€ mittlerweile sind es 26.90€. Die Toiletten, die geöffnet waren, waren leider sehr dreckig. (Damen WC)

Sehr große Speisekarte. Preis Leistung passen aber gar nicht, die Qualität ist bescheiden und der Geschmack auf Niveau von Ikea nach dem Lockdown. Schade, es ist ein toller Standort und sonst ja sichtbar keine Konkurrenz mit dem Angebot: Touristen kommen vermutlich trotzdem genug. Schade!

Service is not existent. Absolutely mediocre food and meat. Terrible, tasteless, cheapest condiments which cost more than a bottle of good ketchup. The most important question of any visit to a cafe/restaurant is - will you come again? And the answer is no. Not recommended.

Essen schmeckt, aber zt. aus der Fertigküche. EIS Sehr lecker angerichtet. Bei schönem Wetter ist es draußen am besten.

Schöner Aussenbereich zum sitzen Essen ist in Ordnung und der Preis auch. Personal ist absolut freundlich kann man empfehlen.

Mein Schnitzel bestand hauptsächlich nur aus Panade und war kaum gewürzt.
