An English pub, but it reminds me of a great vacation in Ireland in 2003. Music suits my taste (I'm 49). Also a great place for an after-work beer. Great snacks. If you're really hungry, there are delicious burgers. It's worth a look. Lots of live events.

A quintessentially British pub in the heart of tranquil Iserlohn. If you're looking for ambiance and a great selection of British and international drinks, this is the place to be. Changing events with live music, pub quizzes, bingo, record fairs, and more provide plenty of entertainment. The only drawback: the menu needs to be expanded to include some healthy alternatives.

We stopped by late in the evening on July 12th and were warmly welcomed. The service was incredibly friendly, and they chatted a bit more than just taking our orders. They advised us on our beer and food choices. The chili cheese fries were delicious, but the typical British dishes we ordered were even more delicious. The ambiance and charm of this pub are indescribable. You just have to experience it. All in all, we can recommend the pub without reservation.

I can't rate the food, as we just wanted a drink with colleagues. But the fries with the drinks were amazing! The atmosphere was great, the draft beer was fantastic, and the staff were super friendly. We felt right at home. Thanks for the great evening. We'll be back 🙂🫶

A cozy Irish pub/restaurant, right in the heart of Iserlohn, where culture and hospitality are still highly valued. In addition to a well-tapped Guinness, "THE NEW CROWN" offers a wide variety of beers, so there's no end to the enjoyment. Culinary delights are also plentiful; from English breakfasts to fish and chips, there are many delicious treats on the menu! The owner, Björn, is a wonderful person, very friendly, helpful, and always in a good mood. The same goes for the entire team. In conclusion, if I lived in Iserlohn, "THE NEW CROWN" would definitely be my first choice, because the poetic phrase "You come as a guest and leave as a friend" is apt here. As an artist, I was very impressed by this warmth and would be delighted to be a guest at "THE NEW CROWN" again. Best regards, Werner

Such a lovely, cozy place with delicious drinks, delicious food, a very friendly owner, and equally friendly staff! The idea of ​​dismantling a pub in England and rebuilding it in Germany is brilliant, and that's why this place feels so authentic and endearing! There's also a regular cultural program, and anyone who wants to can try out playing instruments themselves. We felt very comfortable here and would love to come back!

I drove from Dortmund to Iserlohn for one reason (and it wasn't the Ice Hockey) The New Crown. With my family visiting from the UK, I had to take them to this pub. It's the first time I have been back since it re-opened and it has not changed. The food (fish and chips x3 and a burger) was delicious. So much so, I was really tempted to order another meal for myself. The service was really good and pleasant and you have to credit the staff for making a lasting experience On a separate note, I have attended the quiz night on Wednesdays but recently with work I haven't been able to. That is a night to NOT MISS! It's a great atmosphere and a joy able experience. This pub is one of the must see places around Iserlohn/Dortmund. The history of the pub as well (how it came over from York, England) is also fascinating. Food delicious. Drinks decilous. Oh, okay, excuse me, I am on my way back right now!

I can't say much about the food, but the ambiance is great, and especially the beer selection and service. I always enjoy going there when visiting Iserlohn.

There were frozen burger patties on one burger, and the meatball served as a patty on the other. The new owner and landlord seemed very disorganized. His dirty fingernails also don't indicate a high standard of hygiene. The hair on the plate made this clear... The toilets were poorly cleaned, and the pub floor could use a proper sweep, as it was very sticky and dirty. All in all, nothing here was right! The pub is really nice otherwise. However, that's down to the landlord, Paul, who, according to the information, dismantled this beautiful pub in England and rebuilt it there! REPLY TO THE OWNER'S REPLY: I think you can see from the owner's responses that it's apparently always okay to say something positive, but that he can't handle criticism and wants to talk his way out of everything. Please note: I NEVER had an employment contract there and am speaking from my own experience during my private visit!

I went there with friends. The service was rude, the food tasted bad. You can't go wrong with beer. It was tasty. But you can get delicious beers at other nice places without this unfriendly, pushy service.

The beer was warm at times and tasted stale. The owner seemed unfriendly and overwhelmed. We didn't like the food either! The band playing there was more noisy than pleasant.

Formerly regular guests - today only sadly impressed by the new concept: chaos with charm. Our reservation? Apparently forgotten. After 15 minutes of being ignored, thanks to Paul – the committed and friendly owner – we were at least allowed to sit down at a free table that had already been reserved. Cards? None. Luckily the table next door helped out. Service? More of a kind of passive resistance. Drinks arrived at some point, but some were wrong - 0.5L ordered, 0.3L delivered. The explanation: no matching glasses available. Our original order? “You can no longer understand it at the counter.” The food? Two out of four dishes arrived after an hour, the rest - with delays and errors or not at all. When asked, the answer was succinct: the chef wasn't there, "there's nothing we can do." What we missed, however: insight, apology or some form of customer-oriented behavior. Instead, our displeasure was met with shrugs. Even offering a Coke on the house after another long wait didn't help. During the pub quiz, the drinks service also went down - many guests were left stranded for ages. Complete chaos when paying: incorrect bookings, no overview - incorrect invoice amount. Conclusion: We left the restaurant hungry, thirsty and pretty stunned. Anyone who values ​​organization, friendliness or at least a bit of guest orientation should think carefully about whether they want to give themselves this “experience”. ###Reply to Paul's comment: Dear Paul, Thank you very much for your feedback and for admitting that the evening didn't go well - and at the same time confirming that, as a former employee and experienced restaurateur, I definitely know what I'm talking about. The direct conversation with Björn that you mentioned actually took place - as described in the review. We questioned why the entire menu was offered despite the chef's absence instead of realistically adapting the offering. Why wasn't the massive staff shortage communicated transparently to guests instead of making them wait over an hour for fries and onion rings without comment? Unfortunately, the conversation was sobering - Björn only responded to our constructive questions and suggestions with a cynical: "I don't know if that would make that much sense." We even offered to spontaneously provide support in the kitchen or service - not out of criticism, but because we care about the store. The assessment is in no way intended to be “damaging to business”. Online reviews are a means of making feedback public, highlighting opportunities for improvement and also preparing other guests. Especially because we come from the catering industry, we know: mistakes happen. However, where our understanding ends is with a lack of insight, a lack of empathy and an attitude that sees suggestions for improvement as an attack. Under the previous management of Charles and Desirée, guests felt welcome. Under Björn's leadership, there is currently a feeling that his presence is an imposition. Despite everything, we wish you all the best - the store has potential. We hope that in the long term you will be able to bring this to fruition again.

Super friendly staff. It helps to find a beer that you don't have on your radar. It's also really nice in the pub. Specially mined in England and shipped to Iserlohn. So if you love authenticity, this is absolutely the right place for you. I always like to come back…!!

I went to a concert there and was positively impressed. It's nice that the pub concept is becoming more widespread in Germany.

Service was simply inept, after an hour 4 meals arrived (1x burger, 1x meatball, 1x fries, 1x onion rings) The burger and the meatball. After the service was asked where the rest would be, the overwhelmed employee came with cold onion rings with the wrong dip and no fries. After 30 minutes the drinks were empty and no one came even though you spoke to the service that you wanted to order again. When asked, the new tenants only gave an answer that was unsurpassed in terms of arrogance and snobbyness. “The cook didn’t show up today and we have to live with that now” No excuses, nothing. You can only get a Coke on the house. Before the tenant change, we took part in the pub quiz every 14 days, but what? No thanks This is not how you keep or win customers. I would actually give the evening minus stars but unfortunately that's not possible.

The interior design of the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. Too simple for my taste and therefore not necessarily suitable for eating in a relaxed manner. Where we are eating. That convinced me, even though I was quite skeptical at first. It was tasty and also sufficient. Acceptable in terms of price. A very large selection of beers according to the menu. However, not everyone was there. But it can be understood if necessary, as not every type of beer can be stored in large quantities. Unfortunately, what struck me negatively were the toilets. The men's toilet was still working, it probably depends on the previous users. Things were different in the women's room, at least that evening. Apparently the door was missing and so it was easy to see how two males were drinking beer (or other drinks) there again.

I went to this great English pub for the first time with my boyfriend, Pulp Fiction themed evening. Food was great and there were lots of great types of beer. I was particularly impressed by the friendly service🥰. I'm already looking forward to this Sunday when we come to the public viewing.

We were at the New Crown on a Saturday evening with several people. Food was great, the beer was nice and cold - we'd love to come back!

After being in the restaurant a few times, I realized today that it would be the last time for us. Bad service. They just can't do it, this is best described with the proverbial "The fish....."

They publicly display a huge menu of beers, spirits etc but nothing we would have liked was available. One of the dishes we ordered also wasn't what was advertised... .the accompanying dip had been substituted for some unappetising gloop and was actually pretty grim.

Sehr gemütliche Kneipe mit der Einrichtung eines original englischen Pubs. Viel dunkles Holz im Thekenbereich und in den Gaststuben, welches durch passende Verglasung oberhalb der Theke sowie Spiegel und Bilder N den Wänden stilvoll aufgelockert wird. Die Detailverliebtheit zeigt sich unter anderem auch auf dem nur per Treppe ins Untergeschoss erreichbaren Toiletten, wo die Tür am Ende des Ganges ganzflächig als englische Telefonzelle dekoriert ist. Der Getränkeservice klappte sehr gut, selbstredend gab es natürlich auch schmackhaftes englisches Bier, zum Beispiel in Form von kühlem Guinness. Auch "urdeutsche" Getränke wie zum Beispiel Weizenbier wurden ebenso gut gezapft serviert. Bei den verzehrten Gerichten reichte die Bandbreite von lecker bis zu etwas zu "knusprigen" Chicken Wings. Für Menschen mit erheblichen Beeinträchtigungen ist der Zugang aufgrund mehrerer Treppenstufen vor der Eingangstür, einem einstufigen Podest in der grösseren Gaststube sowie der nur per Treppe im Untergeschoss erreichbaren Toiletten leider nur bedingt empfehlenswert. Positiv war die dezente Hintergrundmusik mit bekannten Melodien aus dem englischsprachigen Raum. Darüber hinaus finden gemäß Aufsteller vor dem Eingang auch regelmäßig Auftritte verschiedener Bands im Pub statt. Fazit: Sehr empfehlenswert für entspannte Abende in uriger Atmosphäre und ohne störende Dauerveredelung, wie sie leider im R-Cafe üblich ist.

Toller authentischer britischer Pub. Das Essen ist halt, wie in GB auch, kein Restaurant-Level, aber gutes, solides Pub-Essen. Die Bedienung war toll. Freundlich, lustig, aufmerksam. 👍

Das erstemal hier drin, der Drink schmeckte leicht nach Salz was aber kein Problem für mich darstellte. Anschließend kam der Barkeeper & machte mir einen neuen Drink obwohl ich darauf noch nichtmal bestand. ☺️ war übrigens ein guter Cocktail mein Freund. Gerne wieder

Ich war beim Alpaca-Treffen, die Tiere wurden gut betreut, es gab keinen Stress und alles lief harmonisch ab. Ansonsten ist das Essen super, der Service tadellos und nette Gäste, ich komme gerne wieder.

Sehr gemütliche Atmosphäre, leckeres Guiness, Desiree und ihr Team sind super nett und locker und das Pub-Quiz ist jedes Mal ein Riesenspaß. Absolut zu empfehlen!

Dieser PUB ist hip bei der jüngeren Bevölkerung und bekannt für seine weitestgehend original britische Einrichtung und dem breiten Fassbierangebot. Bei den Speisen hat man sich versucht britischem Niveau zu nähern, aber selbst das nicht erreicht. Hervorstechend bei den Salaten war die schlechte Salatqualität und das Dressing (zu sparsam, sehr geschmacklos). Die Pommes waren extrem ölig und waren in übel riechendem Altöl frittiert worden. Der schlecht "gebaute" Hamburger auf matschigen Treberbrot - eine Zumutung. Dieser "Koch" hat offensichtlich eine Ausbildung verdient. Da hilft letztendlich auch nicht der freundliche Service. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis stimmt nicht.

Super Atmosphäre, Bedienung und Getränke, sowie Essen waren klasse!!! Kann einen Besuch nur empfehlen!

Wir empfinden das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis für problematisch. Der Burger ist für knappe 19.-€ doch zu teuer und das Schnitzel mit Bacon usw. für 17.-€ ebenfalls. Das Gleiche trifft für das große englische Bier für 7.-€ zu. Das Bier war lecker und auch das Essen war gut. Aber insgesamt doch im Verhältnis zu teuer.
