Restaurant Neuhaus in Iserlohn

We held a funeral reception with approximately 40 guests at Neuhaus. Many aspects were positive, such as the service and the ambiance. However, the value for money was quite questionable in several respects: Neuhaus charged us €198 (!) for 33 bottles (0.75 l) of tap water (some sparkling), which is €6 per bottle (of tap water!). Neuhaus was unwilling to agree to a reduced price.

We were here today for our 65th wedding anniversary and were absolutely delighted! The food was excellent, the service attentive and warm. A perfect celebration in a beautiful setting – we can highly recommend it to everyone!

I was only an invited guest, but I enjoyed everything.

It was confirmed to us a la Carter and we were given the lunch menu. When we asked, we received a short part/excerpt from the actual menu, which seemed to have been removed from the main menu and was presented to us cuddly and sometimes no longer in optimal shape. The soup was missing the advertised praline, which we received as an intermediate course upon request. Isn't something like that noticeable when it's published? Accompanying wines were not presented by name or label, we asked, but the unanswered questions about winemaker and vintage remained until the end. Get meat instead of fish. There had to be a first discussion. Requested a vegetable alternative and ordered without asparagus, but got vegetables with asparagus. Green asparagus should have been shortened more at the bottom as it was quite hard and bitter. Why doesn't the service employee put the order together again? After the many misunderstandings that have happened, a boss in particular should not be surprised by an extremely direct answer about the quality of the meat, which from the guest's point of view describes the lack of understanding about the service quality of the entire lunch. The food was good, but there were too many little things that didn't fit in with the rest.

A few years ago, I was there for a party. After hearing the price per person and then looking at the "buffet," I was looking forward to the midnight meal/snack, well, that too... As a smoker, you go out more often. It was warm, and when I saw how the food was served to the restaurant guests, I really considered ordering a meal à la carte. It looked so great... Well, since I was invited, I accepted it and didn't say anything to the hosts on this special day. That was the second time in my life that I went home hungry. Well, I'll give everyone a second chance. I got a voucher for a four-course meal for two people for a great friend. I hope I and she won't be disappointed, because the food the restaurant guests ordered that day looked really great, and I only saw satisfied guests. Oh, the appetizers that were handed out earlier at the party were truly delicious.

In terms of interior details, what I've seen is in need of an update. It seems to be showing its age.

Nice location, friendly staff, good food

The food was a bit dark, as if it had been burned, and the vegetables and sauce were too salty. It can happen, but I wouldn't have expected such an excuse from the hotel. It was registered and nothing more. The service was snippy and not that competent. We didn't feel comfortable and the food wasn't so good that we would come back.

Das Essen war köstlich. Kreative Speise-Zusammenstellung. Das Fleisch war auf den Punkt gegart. Bioqualität vom Duroc-Schwein, Fröndenberger-Hähnchen etc..

Wunderbare, wohltuende Gastfreundschaft mit ambitionierter Küche! Besuch lohnt sich!
