The crazy little Greek in Berlin

Great discovery on the way back to our hotel at 10 p.m. where we were looking for dinner. Homemade and very fresh dishes. So obviously the later we dine, the fewer dishes there are available. But there is always a solution and that is great. Thanks for the bonus tzaziki and the shot of Uzo to finish the meal.

This was the best thing I've eaten in a long time! The atmosphere is invitingly charming, just like the boss and the staff. The food was extremely delicious. We will definitely be back and can only recommend The Crazy Little Greek. Thank you for the lovely evening. (:

We each ordered a main course for €18, which tasted very good. However, I was a little disappointed by the size of the portions, which I find far too small for the price, otherwise I think the vegan and gluten-free concept is great. We were very impressed by the person (we think it was the owner) who greeted us in an extremely friendly manner, as if we had been regular guests for many years. The English-speaking waiter was also nice, but he asked us twice if we wanted to order something else and when we declined and finished our drink, he came again without being asked and said that he would now bring us the bill. At that point we hadn't even been in the restaurant for an hour and a half and there were still a lot of seats available, so we found this "kicking out" a bit inappropriate.

For me the food was okay (the wine leaves were really nice but the rest was not very special) and sadly not a lot. We had the starters and they were 8,50 each so I expected larger portions for this price. We ended up getting 6 potato wedges (for 8,50 euro it’s crazy to me) and the beans in tomatoes were only very few beans - and all of those ingredients are not very expensive so the portions don’t match the price at all. We saw the main dishes which are at 18 euros and they were so small so we decided to not order more. Overall I found it sadly very disappointing. I personally wouldn’t go again. The service was very friendly though so a star for that ☺️

Pretty small restaurant with a vegan menu. We sat downstairs and all the tables were a bit squashed, so you had to constantly move your chair whenever someone wanted to walk past. What really needs to be praised is the service. The waiter was very nice and you could see that a lot of effort was being put into it. We ultimately decided on 2 dips and all 4 appetizers because we wanted to try a bit of everything and share. Unfortunately we were a bit disappointed when we saw them, as the dips were super small for the price of €5 each and so were the starters...5 slices of potato with some tzatziki for €8.50?? There was no bread with it and to be honest the only vegan thing was the dairy products used for the sauces. Otherwise everything was veggie and I think it's pretty bold to charge such prices for that. There are other vegan restaurants in Berlin with better menus and fair prices!

The five of us felt very comfortable today in this small, beautiful and cozy restaurant! The food was great. The waitress and the owner were constantly on the move to make the guests as comfortable as possible! We didn't miss anything and we'd love to come back! We are very enthusiastic about the beautiful atmosphere! Keep it up!

Food is okay, but the taste is nothing special.

With all the 5 star reviews I can't understand, I feel like I've been to a different restaurant. But unfortunately that is not the case. It was overall a disappointment. You sit really tight at a really small table. My companion and I have average body proportions and had to really huddle together. But if you're unlucky enough to have a slightly stronger person sitting at the table next to you (as was the case with me), it just gets too tight. For me it has nothing to do with “cozy” or “cozy” anymore, it’s just uncomfortable. The service was extremely uninterested, a bottle of house wine that we had ordered with the appetizer platter was clumsily placed on the table, not even opened, and there was no mention of pouring it. In between, the colleague simply watched some videos on his cell phone. Very professional... not. By the way, the house wine was from France, one might assume that in a Greek shop it would also be from Greece, but that's just by the way. The food was okay, but no flavor fireworks either. Of the 7 starters, 3 were tasty, a few were okay, but for example the vegan feta is literally just coconut oil pressed into blocks with a few spices. After two or three cubes of this you can't stand the greasy food anymore, it's better. Also a big weakness - the "bread". These are hard, rather tasteless pieces of biscuit-like crispbread. This is unfortunate because most of the dishes in this appetizer plate are relatively thin spreads, with a consistency somewhere between a classic hummus and mayo. Wouldn't a soft bread for dipping be so much better than this hard cookie?! And there is delicious, soft gluten-free bread... When we asked if we could have other bread, we were told that there was only this dry bread available. Well, whatever. Otherwise, Indian/Arabian hip hop played as background music throughout the evening, at a volume that was clearly too high for my taste. Absolutely nothing against these languages, but I would have found Greek hip hop (or whatever style) in a GREEK restaurant more appropriate. TLDR: - very (!) little space - Bored/unfriendly service - mediocre food - not typical ambience There are much better vegan shops in Berlin. And much better Greek shops. Only the "little" in the name applies, but not in a good way. Very unfortunate.

First of all: it is REALLY small and narrow. Very. At first it scared me a bit 😱 But after a short time getting used to it, it actually felt rather comfortable ☺️ The only negative thing for me was the wine prices, €9 is quite a number... But otherwise: FANTASTIC! The whole atmosphere there, the food, the ouzo 😜, an absolute 10 out of 10! We come from Wuppertal and had a short trip to Berlin, luckily we found this treasure online in time and reserved it, that alone would have been almost worth the trip. Thanks for a great evening!

Absolutely great discovery - a MUST in Berlin!!

At last Greek vegan food. Those traditional dishes are very tasty. Please mind it is very tight inside. It feels a bit like a storage room 😶 At our last visit we were greeted by some South-Asian deep base music but later it turned Greek (once the owner appeared:)

We all really enjoyed the plate with the dips! Unfortunately, all four main courses were cold when we received them. Since we were sitting downstairs, no one came to ask if everything was OK with the food. There were also some communication problems with the service staff, even though we all spoke English. This somewhat detracted from the overall experience. But I would come back again for dips and wine!

Great restaurant. Not very big, but everything else is just right. The dishes are not boring and are finally an alternative to the run-of-the-mill vegan food that is otherwise available in Berlin. For people who still have to watch out for gluten, this restaurant is a must. The boss and the employees are always looking after you and spreading a good mood. The food is fresh and tastes great. The prices are a little higher than at the normal restaurant next door, but it's not frozen goods and it's really tasty. Ambiance, cleanliness, friendliness, all 5 stars. We'll definitely come by more often :)

Dear team, we were your guests today. We really enjoyed it, we were warmly welcomed, our food was delicious, short and sweet, we felt very comfortable. Unfortunately we have a 45 minute drive to you, but that doesn't stop us from coming to you again. We came across you online and wanted to "try out" your little restaurant. The boss doesn’t pay the employees if they make mistakes, he cuts 4 or 7 hours from the salary or more which is illegal. He’s very mean to the employees and blames them for everything and insulting the staff in general. Also too expensive for what it offers.

Crazily tasty and TOTALLY gluten-free and vegan restaurant (except some of the booze). It is small, it is tasty, it is full, it is pretty, it is friendly - we had a great glutenfree time as celiacs. Highly recommended! Do reserve. Bring time. Enjoy!

It's really nice that this vegan and gluten-free restaurant exists! We were there on a Wednesday, early evening. You definitely need a reservation from 6 p.m. as it filled up quickly. We ordered two starters and then both the same main course (cabbage rolls). The food was tasty, but not a highlight. The side dishes for the main course, potatoes, were lukewarm. What irritated us: the waiter and the cook keep running out of the restaurant to get food, apparently the kitchen is outside the restaurant?! The waiter only spoke English. Not a problem for us, perhaps more so for others. It was very friendly the whole time. You sit at very small tables and small benches. After a while I found it to be a bit cramped and uncomfortable. On the one hand it was cool and special (vegan and gluten-free) and on the other hand there was still room for improvement.

I myself am gluten-free and vegetarian and discovered this restaurant by chance. We had a nice evening and the service was super friendly. Unfortunately I wasn't that impressed with the food, I always think it's a shame when you taste it... that it's vegan and Gf. Definitely try it out but unfortunately I wasn't 100% convinced.

About a month ago the two of us visited this restaurant. We had reserved in advance, which is also recommended because the restaurant is small and the seating options are limited (on warm days there may be more space thanks to benches in front of the restaurant). At first we were both given seats on a bench, but we found this to be too narrow as we would have had to sit shoulder to shoulder with other guests. After consultation, we were kindly assigned a table at the end of the stairs. Unfortunately it was quite restless there as guests and staff often passed by. But private conversations were possible. The menu is clear, which we found positive. There is a mixed selection of vegan dishes. We chose tzatziki, moussaka and stuffed cabbage. The food came at a normal pace. In terms of taste, it didn't quite meet our expectations, but that's certainly individual - others may like it better. We found the prices to be too high for what was offered. At the beginning we were served very friendly in German. Halfway through our stay the staff changed and the waitress only spoke English. Luckily, my companion was more linguistically savvy, so we were still able to express our wishes. The new service was also friendly. However, we ended up having to pay the bill ourselves at the cash register as it would have taken a while to get it to the table.

It‘s hard to find good restaurants with vegan and gluten-free options (especially when you are not looking for asian food). This restaurant is entirely vegan and gluten-free and above all delicious. The service is very good and I highly encourage you to check out some Greek food that is not meaty and fatty but fresh and delicious with several layers of aroma.

The room where we were allowed to sit was very cold and even after asking, it was not warmed up. The mezze was mediocre in quality and was accompanied by burnt flatbread (very little). We were met with misunderstanding when providing our feedback. The compensation offered did not meet our expectations. We were offered a shot instead of a discount on the total amount.

Very cute shop with nice employees, the menu itself is also very appealing. The food at the neighboring table also looked good, but we had a common conclusion, which I think is a real shame: a restaurant doesn't have to prepare the food for the eyes, but then the taste should blow your mind. Unfortunately, our cabbage rolls literally tasted like nothing, everything was missing and it was actually far too expensive for that.. still a great concept to think of Greek cuisine as vegan and gluten-free :)

A vegan Greek gem in Berlin-Mitte! My sister and I discovered this wonderful Greek vegan and gluten-free restaurant in Berlin yesterday - we were thrilled! Everything is homemade and traditionally Greek, which gives the food a special authenticity. As soon as we entered, we were warmly welcomed by Niko, the super nice host. We chose moussaka and the starter of giant beans in tomato sauce - both dishes were simply delicious! The food was also very digestible and the portions are generous, so you really feel full. I was also impressed by the Greek Rosé Brut sparkling wine! MEGA Greek champagne! I'll definitely be back!! An absolute recommendation for everyone who loves good food – whether vegan or not!

We had an amazing time with my friend. The owner greeted us warmly and took great care of us. The food was authentic and entirely vegan, which had been a dream of mine for a long time—to try traditional vegan Mediterranean cuisine. I absolutely loved it!

Vegan and gluten-free Greek seems like a contradiction in terms. But no, instead it's really delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed gigantes beans in tomatoes sauce as well as moussaka as a main dish. Very flavorful and a good quantity. Next time I'll skip the starter to leave room for desert. What a great find this restaurant, cozy with a very welcoming host/owner. Highly recommend

Incredibly tasty, beautiful restaurant, very nice service. We had various starters with dips, my favorite was zatziki and beetroot. Moussaka and salad also incredibly delicious, for dessert millet pudding with cinnamon and plums. Fantastic. The wine was also highly praised, I didn't try it myself. There's even gluten-free beer!

Excellent discovery in Berlin. Very warm welcome, very fresh and very healthy dishes. The dishes and desserts are all vegan and gluten-free. The dessert (Ravani) is also excellent and not too sweet. Absolutely recommended, we will return.

Not a great experience eating here. The starters were okay, but the main courses were unimaginative, lots of rice, very creamy, heavy and had nothing to do with creative, modern Greek cuisine. I expected more. The staff was insensitive and overwhelmed. The seating is too narrow and squashed.

The service was very friendly, but didn't speak a word of German! We also weren't convinced by the food. We had ordered a dip plate for 35 euros, which unfortunately only consisted of dips and parts that were on the menu were even missing. The price was way too high! Unfortunately, the taste wasn't convincing either; unfortunately it lacked spice. Unfortunately we cannot recommend it. Addendum regarding other critical recessions. You should be able to accept criticism. If you react stubbornly like this, it quickly comes across as very unprofessional. Better to learn from it.

Fantastic food, very nice owner and service, super cozy. We stayed here with a few friends and our 2.5 year old son, it was also quite child friendly.

Our last evening meal after a few days in Berlin failed to disappoint. Not a complaint in sight.

A great experience when, theoretically, you can eat anything on the menu without restrictions, and Greek too. It tasted great. We had the feeling of sitting in a small bistro in Greece for an evening. A successful evening for us.

We were there for the first time yesterday and I have to say — we'll be back & recommend it! The choice fell on the mezze platter for 2 people. Super tasty and more than enough for two people (we even took some with us because we couldn't make it), and second helpings of the buckwheat bread were available upon request. The dips were all very different in taste, from mild and creamy to very spicy, so they definitely lived up to the motto “something for everyone”. Spanakoriso and Gigantes were both excellent. There was also Aperol Spritz (large and well-filled glasses = good Aperol price-performance ratio) and then an ouzo. Everything was very successful from a culinary point of view :) The ambience is very cozy (even if some of the stools don't have backrests, but that's manageable for a dinner time here) — small, spread over two floors and relatively narrow, which gives the whole thing a very personal charm ("Sorry, “If I could reach over her table, my jacket is hanging over it” moments included). Yes, there are crates of drinks lying around, but who cares? The only shame is the lack of accessibility, but this is due to the rooms. There are two/three tables outside and blankets for the colder season, and food can also be taken away. The prices are completely okay (middle of the road, and you know in advance), but you can be sure that it tastes great and you leave feeling full. We paid €25 per person for food and drinks. In general, a reservation is recommended (especially for groups), but I guess that you can get a spot spontaneously with little waiting time, like we did. The staff is also very friendly. German and English are spoken mixed (Berlin). We also had a good chat with the owner and will also test his pizzeria (Simela) :) Thanks and see you next time! ♥️

We came to the restaurant moderately hungry and got three starters for the two of us, along with a house wine. For us that was the perfect amount, the food was VERY tasty. The service is extremely friendly and accommodating. Small, friendly shop. We would come again :)

Crazy little lovely awesome and super tasting, amazing service 🫶

I don’t get the raving reviews, the food here was so…mediocre. Nothing was outright bad, but everything tasted bland and uninspired. We had the mezzedes plate, with 7 different spreads and gigantes. The spreads tasted like nothing, and most Greeks would be highly offended that it was served with crunchy dark bread, almost Knäckebrot. The gigantes were obviously not baked in the sauce in the oven, they tasted like pot cooked and then thrown in a tomato sauce. One of the spreads was obviously made with Violife feta, which also came with the tiny Greek salad. If you have a vegan Greek restaurant, wouldn’t you want to serve actually good tasting feta, instead of this coconut oil abomination? Then the moussaka: the béchamel was runny, there were only some vegetables, I couldn’t make out the aubergine (most important component), and again, it tasted so, so bland. First rule of good vegan food is spices and intense flavors. This was such a disappointment. Especially in Berlin, where the bar for good vegan food is just that high. Big skip in my opinion.

Wonderful food. Six of us had the appetizer platter and were always given fresh bread when we asked, so that each of us could try everything thoroughly. For the main course we ate moussaka (divine) and lachanodolmades (very tasty). And all in all, as a gluten-intolerant vegan, it was a nice experience to sit in a restaurant and not have to worry about the ingredients. I recommend it to everyone, regardless of their diet.

We visited the restaurant for the first time last week and felt very well looked after. The seat by the window offered a wonderful view of the busy hustle and bustle in the small, rustic restaurant. The landlord was very welcoming, explained and recommended the dishes, which we all enjoyed very well, even though we are vegan. Please keep it up.

We were there for the first time today. Our daughter was able to eat everything without restrictions (great experience). We can only recommend this small, cozy restaurant. Great atmosphere. Everything was explained to us very nicely. The food was delicious, great service. We left full and satisfied and will definitely be back.

Absolute recommendation 🤌 best vegan Greek food in Berlin!

Good for vegan and gluten free, but far from comparable to other Greek places. Overall just an average experience. The food was okay, tasty, but quite expensive for the small portions. The service was good at first, but after the main and the first drink, we weren't served anymore really. The seating was very uncomfortable, atmosphere was okayish. During our 2hrs there, there was half of the time background music and the other half none, which made the atmosphere really weird.

It's been a while now (August), but I haven't forgotten that evening! Thank you for good food, good conversations and most of all for so much love. Keep going :) you bring a lot of good into our world!!!

Sadly almost everything lacked flavor, although I have to say that tzatziki wasn’t all that bad for being vegan. The fact that there’s no proper pita bread but just some “burnt” chips, was also not great. 4 stars only because I am happy to see all-vegan places

Bit of a hard review for us to give here as the waiter was quite friendly and warm but the system at this restaurant is highly disorganised so we probably wouldn't go again. Let's start with positives: - All vegan menu, so vegans get the rarity of experiencing choice - Especially hard to find vegan Greek food in Berlin, so that's a bonus - As mentioned, the waiter was always smiling and friendly despite being overworked which wasn't his fault The more critical things to state: - We had no reservation and were explicitly told we'd only need to wait a few minutes. A table became free in not too long but it was perhaps 30 minutes before we were guided to it and given the greenlight to be seated. Even longer till we got menus and the table was cleaned. These long waits were a trait of the night as every interaction and encounter took a significant wait time and even while we were being served, the waiter would get very easily pulled away or distracted, often for things which could have waited (eg a phone call). - The whole system needs attention, it's very disorganised in terms of how things operate here, and mistakes could have been easily avoided if refined. The whole experience was pretty uncomfortable because we felt ignored and relegated in terms of our priority in the restaurant - The food - this is varied in terms of how good it is. A lot on the menu isn't that great in all honesty, and to be very frank, it's very very overpriced for what you get. I've seen the restaurant saying it's a high-priced place to eat and unashamedly so, which is totally fine if the food is worth the high prices, which we can't say it is. - Heavily understaffed - this is probably the main culprit for a lot of issues and for this we blame management not really the waiters. There seemed to only be 2 waiters for the entire restaurant which is a ridiculous business decision, especially with the premium price tag which should come with a high bar for service. I would strongly encourage management to hire more staff and also to prepare food better in advance as this led to even more wait times for everything. The place has potential to be a lot better and the highlight was the positivity of our waiter despite the pressure he was under. The real issues here are poor organisation and lack of correct priorities when it comes to things that will always come up in the hectic environment of a restaurant. If the restaurant wants to charge 50-75% more for it's offerings in the competitive market of Berlin, it needs to brush up a lot. A friendly shout-out to our waiter in any case!

Unfortunately, very poorly prepared food for too much money. Either it wasn't seasoned or a whole jar of spices fell into it. The casserole and pakrika were overcooked. For the cola there was a half-filled 0.2 glass. Had expected more from 4.5 stars.

Unfortunately not recommended. The store seems to be too small and there are crates and cartons of drinks everywhere. Even in the toilet. The food is only small portions and absolutely overpriced. 15€ for 2 thin slices of peppers with rice, although the rice was more of a porridge. Even more than a rice pudding. The taste was somehow ok but nothing special. The drinks are also very expensive at €6.50 for a 0.5 beer. The service doesn't speak German but makes an effort. Seems like the store has new owners. But if you don't go, you won't miss anything.

Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is not right at all. A selection of dips for two people costs €35, one of which was already slightly tilted. The moussaka as a main course for €18 was unfortunately disappointing. Unfortunately, the atmosphere inside was not comfortable. Unfortunately no recommendation.

We waited 1.5 hours for our food and it was totally tasteless. It’s literally just hyped from Instagram but not good. The waiter was friendly but overworked. I do not recommend :(

We made a reservation for 10 people and got 8 seats, which is fine because we all got a seat. After ordering we had to wait for over an hour for our food. We all ordered different dishes and all of them were flavourless (I did not lose taste due to COVID). Overall, especially for the price, it's bad value for money. Independent from how fresh your ingredients are.

Had a good time and really nice tasty food. It's tiny, so be prepared for a cosy setting. It is also warm inside in summer, but the food makes up for everything.

The owner is a super friendly person who runs from top to bottom like a madman to ensure his customers are satisfied. The food was super tasty and I like the manageable menu, everything was vegan and gluten-free :) we were given a very warm welcome, it was our first time there and will definitely eat there again. With the really small kitchen, the cooking is still great :) thank you for the lovely evening and the friendly hospitality! 💃

Price-performance is not right for me. The main course in the picture costs €18. The casserole appeared to have been warmed up and tasted strongly of coconut. I wasn't full. The side dishes were nice but tiny portions. Since it wasn't particularly prepared or had any unusual ingredients, cooking it yourself is simply more worthwhile. The service staff spoke no German and only a little English.
