The ASH Köln Hahnenstraße in Köln

We went to the restaurant on a Saturday evening and ordered burgers and drinks. Unfortunately the air inside is very bad, we had to wait 45 minutes for the drinks and 1 hour for the food. The burgers and side dishes arrived lukewarm and the price-performance ratio wasn't really right. The portions are pretty small for the price, the vegan burger isn't anything special and the sweet potato fries were mostly small crumbs. The service, however, was very friendly and attentive. When we were asked if we enjoyed the food, we answered honestly. Our feedback was then communicated to the boss and he spoke to us and said that the drinks were on the house. That was very friendly and we didn't expect it, but we were still happy when we didn't have to wait any longer and were able to leave the restaurant. Overall, the processes didn't really seem smooth and as if the staff weren't well trained.

Unfortunately, our visit to “The ASH” in Cologne was an absolute failure. First of all, I have to emphasize that the waitress who served us was really friendly and helpful. However, that was the only positive thing about the evening. The real shock came when a blonde woman who identified herself to us as the “operations manager” came into the picture. She was rude and disrespectful - no customer service at all. Our problem: I ordered a tomahawk steak medium rare and it was served well done. After my complaint, the steak was eventually taken back and I opted for a rib-eye steak instead. But the nightmare didn't stop. This steak was burnt on the outside and so raw on the inside that it was cold! An absolute no-go for a restaurant that specializes in steaks. And then came the biggest joke of the evening: Because I didn't completely hate the "first bite" of the tomahawk and said it tasted "not bad," the "manager" brazenly demanded that I still pay full price for the steak should! After a long and unpleasant discussion in which she behaved unprofessionally and stubbornly, the tomahawk fee was waived, but the rudeness continued. At the end there were suddenly extras on the bill that we definitely hadn't ordered. We paid a lot more overall than what we actually ate - and what we ate was a complete disappointment. Bad customer service, bad food and incorrect billing all ruined our evening at The ASH. I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. Stay away if you don't want to waste your money and ruin your evening! In addition to what you see in the photo, the tomahawk is supposed to be 1000 g. But as you can easily see, that's not even 700 g plus bones So really an absolute disaster

The food was delicious and the atmosphere was cozy. It was a shame that there was canelloni on the menu but they weren't available at all. We cannot recommend the blue alcohol drink because it is far too sweet.

Excellent food and service. We were seated and served super quick. My friend got the 3d printed vegan meat and I honestly couldnt tell it wasn't meat. It was really delicious. Also I asked for my steak Blue and often times I receive rare instead but these guys cooked it perfect. Highly recommend

Over an hour for a cheeseburger. This is not acceptable. The atmosphere is nice, but no one told us that the food was still delayed. I understand that it might be busy, but every small burger joint does it much faster and cheaper.

First the positive: The service was great. Unfortunately not the food. My chicken wings as an appetizer were almost black. I ordered the fillet steak rare, but it came medium/well. The mashed potatoes were way too bland. A piece of butter wouldn't have hurt. The spinach was pretty flabby. A bit of onion, salt, pepper and nutmeg could have given it a bit of a kick. Overall, it's not so bad that you have to give it back, but it's not really enjoyable either. Given the prices, I would have expected better quality food.

Great steaks. Sides were delicious. Ourtside seating was spectacular.

Clearly poorly run store. Staff overwhelmed, resulting in very long waiting times for normal orders. Single-layer toilet paper, broken lamps, etc. the big picture is not right here. Price performance doesn't match.

Wir hatten einen tollen Abend und mein Freund hat sich sehr gefreut, dass wir seinen Geburtstag dort gefeiert haben. Abgesehen von den zwei Fehlbestellungen für die Getränke, war alles top top top. Das Service Personal war super freundlich und hat uns den Tisch sehr schön hergerichtet. Wir kommen wieder.

We recently visited your restaurant and, to be honest, our visit was a bitter disappointment. The meat was an absolute disaster - charred on the outside and with a texture that was neither fibrous nor melt-in-your-mouth like you would expect from a steak at a restaurant in this price range. When we were asked about the food and gave our polite criticism, they didn't even apologize. Instead, our comment was taken as if we didn't want to pay for the steak, which was by no means our intention. This assumption completely spoiled the mood. When we gave a correspondingly smaller tip, it was rejected in an insulted manner. My recommendation: It's better to look for a good mid-range establishment - there you'll not only get better steak, but also wait staff who have more hair on their heads and deal with criticism more professionally.

Since we brought an American with us, we needed to go to an American Style Restaurant. It did not disappoint. The food was good, staff was friendly en the atmosphere was pleasant. The only complaint I would have that it was very hot in the restaurant. But that is not enough to get one star off. Highly recommend.

I have been a loyal guest at The Ash and always very satisfied. But after my last visit I am deeply disappointed. The meal started promisingly, the starters were tasty, and the side dishes for the main course were also fine. But the steak I got was an absolute disaster - sandy in consistency, burnt and completely off flavor. The waiter's reaction was even worse when I politely pointed this out: instead of understanding, I was met with accusations that we didn't want to pay the bill. An apology? None. Instead, the small tip was aggressively thrown back. After this experience I will definitely never visit The Ash again.

Wir waren aus Anlass eines Geburtstages unseres Sohnes dort. Besonders schön fanden wir , neben dem leckeren Essen und der sehr freundlichen Bedienung, dass das Restaurant eine kleine Überraschung für unseren Sohn hatte. Das hatten wir nicht erwartet und hat ihn besonders erfreut. Danke dafür!

The steaks we got were cooked to the right point but the outside was burnt. The only thing you tasted was the charred one, as if you were biting into charcoal. But the height was when the waiter tried to tell us that this was normal. This has never happened to us there before.

We went to check out the DJ session and have some food. Unfortunately there was a miscommunication/ misunderstanding in our order but the waiter handled it very well and we left still satisfied. The menu should be more clearly written and not misleading „ summer special“ Smash Burger two patties or the option with a single Pattie….(not well done whoever created the menu!!!! Hence minus one star ⭐️ as it messed up the experience and understanding of the special! Yet waiter handled the situation well, and have to say that this was a positive surprise to encounter in a restaurant in Germany. Wife would have liked more Ice in the limoncello but that’s just here preference, for me it was fine.

Gestern das erste mal bei The Ash Hahnenstr gewesen. Ehrlicherweise bin der ich lieber an der Messe in Deutz. Das Ambiente ist viel schöner und gemütlicher. Essen und Service waren gut.

Sehr freundliches und aufmerksames Personal. Das Essen war auf den Punkt gegart. Sonderwünsche sind kein Problem. Wir sind „Wiederholungstäter“ und werden auch noch öfter das Restaurant besuchen.

Wir haben an dem Geburtstag meines Mannes da gegessen und waren insgesamt sehr zufrieden. Die Vorspeise 6er Gambas fanden wir nicht soo gut. Hauptgang flank Steak war super der Wein auch. Sides waren i.O. Nette Geste zum Geburtstag gab es auch. Kellner sehr nett und zuvorkommend Würden wieder kommen.

But I can't imagine that your guests; and if it's only around 15%, it's not a good one Appreciate cognac, whiskey, rum, anise, fruit spirits or pomace brandies etc. and are prepared to pay accordingly. It's also a shame that your decorative gin bottles were all empty. Siegfried tonic would have been very good as an appetite stimulant, but there was nothing there.

The entrance is a bit confusing if, like me, you are a little inattentive 😊 because two restaurants share one entrance. The food was very tasty, the service was attentive and friendly and the atmosphere was special. Top! Again any time.

Very stylish steakhouse with many special meat dishes. My mayor piece was simply a dream. The only thing that might be annoying is the smell of the grill, but that's actually part of it. Overall a bit expensive, but worth a visit.

Location ist gut, Ambiente ist gut und der Service war super freundlich und bemüht! (Offene) Küche war nur mit 3-4 Personen dramatisch unterbesetzt und damit dauerte das Abendessen mit Vorspeise über 2,5 Stunden. Das geht nicht! Der Laden war super voll und unter Hand sagte man uns, dass diese äußerst knappe Besetzung der Küche leider normal wäre... Vorspeisen waren noch sehr lecker, aber bei den Hauptgerichten merkte man den Stress. Spargel wie Süßkartoffelpommes leicht verbrannt, Burger fehlerhaft belegt. Das geht besser! The Ash in München? Jederzeit wieder! The Ash in Köln? Uih... Das wird schwer...

Der Service war super freundlich und schnell. Auf unser Essen mussten wir trotz wenig anderer Gäste deutlich zu lange warten (50min für 2 Steaks + Beilagen) Die Steaks waren in Ordnung aber mehr auch nicht. Die Garnelen beim „Surf and Turf“ waren leider versalzen (wurden aber dann nach reklamieren gets) und mehr Mini Garnelen, denn „King Prawns“…für 125€ inkl. Getränke kein günstiges Vergnügen. In Summe bleibt vor allem bei den Speisen Luft nach oben.

Burger mit Sensational vegan patty, vor allem der neue scharfe, sehr zu empfehlen!!! Immer eine Freude hier zu essen. Unser Lieblingsort für Burger!

Die Rippchen, Steak und Tuna Steak waren so lecker und ausgezeichnet. Wir haben hier einen hervorragenden Abend verbracht. Das Bier ist hier deutlich teurer, aber man zählt auch für die Atmosphäre. Gestern nochmals besucht. Die Bedienung war extrem langsam, da der Laden voll war. Beim Bezahlen war auch Chaos und meine Getränke haben gefehlt und ich musste etwas anderes bezahlen. Viele hatten Magenprobleme nach den Lionsrips.

Locale situato a ridosso del centro fieristico di Colonia . In occasione delle fiere è sempre affollato , quindi conviene prenotare . La carne è ottima e i prezzi sono buoni considerando la media di Colonia . Le Specialità sono la carne e gli hamburger..

The restaurant looks pretty good, but that's about it. We waited a good 2 hours for our food and it was pretty average. Not acceptable for the price quoted there. The citizen consists of rock-hard patties that have a really strange consistency and otherwise a lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato and a slice of cheese. This for >20 euros... The 350g rump steak costs over 40 euros and is also of rather mediocre quality. But the highlight was the waiter, who only managed to bring us two Kölsch in 2 hours, but was really unfriendly. When we asked how long the meal would take, the answer was: "A few minutes, maybe 20"... So a few minutes is almost half an hour. All in all, way too expensive for what you get.

Unfortunately very bad service. We waited almost 90 minutes for our food and it wasn't even really full. We also waited a long time for the drinks. If you want to order something else you have to draw your attention or get up from the table. We were not actively approached. With a meal costing 70€€ pp you can simply expect more service! A pity.. The meat was well fried and tasted good.

I visited The Ash on Monday June 10th at lunchtime. Really one of the best steakhouses in Cologne Ribe eye steak really great, great waiters, everything was great! Food was super tasty. However, I will deduct the service because our waiter was very slow. It took a while until he finally accepted our drink requests and later food requests. It also took a relatively long time for the drinks to arrive.

Ein schönes Restaurant mit sehr gutem Essen. Der Service ist ausnahmslos freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Essen ist nicht gerade günstig, jedoch ist es seinen Preis auf jeden Fall wert. Etwas überzogen empfanden wir den Preis für ein 0,2 Kölsch. Stolze 4€ und leider nicht kalt genug. Ansonsten ist das Restaurant sehr zu empfehlen.

Fleisch war ok, jedoch war das Filet mit Sehnen durchzogen. Ebenfalls wurde die Garstufe nicht richtig errechnet.

Essen und Service waren Top. Allerdings waren die Eiswürfel in den Getränken so groß das sie nach kurzer Zeit schon wässrig geschmeckt haben.

Das Filet war gut, der Burger gewöhnlich . Auch die Vorspeisen waren ok. Ich kann nicht sagen dass es schlecht war aber es war auch nichts besonderes. Viel Fertigprodukte. Der Service war freundlich aber auch nicht sehr professionell. Vor allem war sie mit 5 Euro Trinkgeld sichtlich unzufrieden. Zusammengefasst war es ok für uns aber wir würden jetzt nicht nochmal wieder kommen .

After we left the ASH in Deutz last Friday after 15 minutes without being served, our evening at Rudolfplatz was saved primarily by the great service but of course also the food. Thank you for that.

Die Kellner waren unfreundlich bis auf einer. Wir wollten Sprudelwasser und bekamen stilles ohne Glas. Außerdem wollten wir mit Karte zahlen, was aber draußen anscheinend nicht möglich ist. Dann wurde von uns verlangt das wir alle Bargeld dabei haben, obwohl wir ja mit Karte zahlen wollten. Danach wollten wir auf die Toilette. Dort war das Wasser im Hahn zu heiß bzw schon fast am Kochen. Die Klos waren in Ordnung, aber es roch nach Club kotze und Urin. Von außen sieht es nett aus, aber spätestens wenn sie das Personal kennenlernen oder dumme Sprüche gedrückt bekommen, will man einfach nur noch gehen. Alles in allem sehr unzufrieden und viel zu teuer. Lava cake ist nicht zu empfehlen, da zu teuer. LG

Auf meine Frage, ob das Filet wirklich 200g wiegt kam die Antwort, dass es wohl Flüssigkeit beim Kochen verliert. Wenn auf der Speisekarte 200g angeboten werden, sollten auch 200g, und zwar im gekochtem Zustand, serviert werden. Der Preis ist dafür überteuert. Man müsste mal sich hier das Fleisch vor sich wiegen lassen! Mal schauen was dann die Waage sagt. Wir kommen nicht wieder.

Zuvorkommender und absolut aufmerksamer Service IMMER die perfekte Garstufe, Hervorragendes Schmackhaftes Fleisch und leckere Saucen und Beilagen. Sehr zu empfehlen!

It's not for nothing that Ash is one of the hottest addresses in Cologne when it comes to authentic steakhouse cuisine and supreme service that goes far beyond the expected level. Particularly noteworthy are the two excellent characters Ling and Luana, who embody what I otherwise only know from the USA. My new regular shop 👍👍💪💪

We had reserved a table for dinner for 12 people. We were able to get in half an hour early. Dixon, like Nixon, the president, only friendlier, accompanied us through the evening. With a lot of humor and always a saying on his lips, he created a suitable atmosphere. Whether it was drinks, food or dessert, there was something for everyone. It's self-explanatory that you sometimes have to wait a moment for your food in a group like this. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Cologne

Best ash chain in Cologne, amazing waiters, totally attentive and the food is always delicious

1 star is still too much. We were left waiting for hours first our drinks arrived late (20m+), but only after requesting for them a second (and third) time. Afterwards, we asked for our food several times, but hours later and while tavbes around us arriving later than us were dining and even leaving, we still did not get our order. We could see part of our order being set under a heater, left to shrivel for almost two hours. We finally decided we'd had enough and asked to pay for the drinks we consumed and leave. They claimed the food was ready (yet still took half an hour to get to the table in the end) and we were prohibited of leaving. When they did not heed our request of paying for the drinks we tried to leave, that's when they physically threatened us. Most of us left, but two people stayed behind and were forced to pay for food that was supposedly ready at that point yet still came half an hour after this incident. Not all food was even delivered, though all of it was charged and even the request to get the remainder in doggybags was denied. This behavious is plain and simple criminal; extortion and theft. We did not expext practices like these in a developped country.

We had reservation with 17 ppl, 2 tables of 6, 1 of 5 ppl. we had to wait 30min to order. then we waited 2hr to get served, tables around us who arrived later already ate and left by then, so we said to the staff we wanted to pay for the drinks and leave, because they clearly just waited to give us food so we would've bought more drinks. eventually they called the police because we wanted to leave. a friend of us paid 670+ euros for the whole bill, the food we didn't get included (because they claimed the food was ready to serve). because 11 ppl already left, we asked to get the food for the 6 ppl staying behind, and a doggybag for the rest of us. we waited for another 30 minutes and they refused to give us the rest of the food because the kitchen was closed (which is weird because they told the police it was ready to serve). this place is clearly a tourist trap with agressive personnel. would never recommend to anyone.

For the first time in so many restaurants I have visited, I have experienced such poor and humiliating behavior from a waitress! She screamed at her colleagues like hysterics in front of customers, she made a mistake when ordering and one person in the company was fasting and the worst part was when she got angry and angrily took the credit machine out of our hands when we went to pay Left because we didn't leave her a tip. . Gentlemen, such behavior is NOT ALLOWED! The incident occurred on the afternoon of May 4, 2024. We reported the incident to another girl who told us she was responsible. We went there yesterday (group of 8). The food was good (even though the Yucatán wasn’t as spicy as I would have expected). The beers were cold and all BUT, the service was horrendous! The young lady was really rude, erratic, unprofessional (mistake with the order, one of us ended up not eating), unhelpful (she didn’t offer a replacement dish to the person whose order hadn’t come through), and tried to trick us into leaving tips exploiting our non-knowledge of the language. She messed up big time. An otherwise lovely experience totally ruined our expectations and her kitchen colleagues’ hard work. Shame for the business. Definitely NOT going back…

The style is great, you can feel comfortable there. The music was also great. The food is stunning, delicious and cooked to perfection. Not exactly cheap, but together with the really good wines, it's worth it.

Starting with Bruchetta, 10 euros for two pieces of white bread, absolutely crazy, rip off. We left 80 euros in the store, a mere disappointment. I know what a good citizen is, this place is far from delivering one, if you don't know anything about good food, go ahead. The owner would never eat in this shop in his life. The service was sweet, shoutouts Susanne. Ambience clean and yes, chic. Not outstanding.

Simply top, the food was incredibly tasty, the staff was super friendly and competent, fast service, you can trust the recommendations from the staff. The ambience is very cozy and invites you to linger. I can only recommend it.

Der Service war super, sehr aufmerksam. Das Essen war auch sehr gut, nur war der Nachtisch enttäuschend. Der Lava Cake war sehr klein und trocken. Die 9€ waren nicht gerechtfertigt. Was ein wenig stören war, war das ab gewissen Uhrzeiten die Musik lauter wird. Wenn man sich beim Essen unterhalten möchte, kann es schonmal anstrengend werden. Aber alles in allem waren wir zufrieden und kommen wieder

Hallo zusammen, wir haben den 40 Geburtstag meiner Frau ,gefeiert, hatte ich auch in der Reservierung eine Woche vorher auch dazugeschrieben. Leider wurden wir in die letzte Ecke gesetzt wo es dunkel war! Leider kein Licht möglich! Wir kommen Gene und einmal im Monat sind wir immer da und immer gute Plätze in der Woche.das war wahrscheinlich nur Pech! Bedienung und essen wie immer ein Erlebnis.
