Thalkirchdorfer Dorfhaus in Oberstaufen

Sehr schönes Ambiente, netter Kellner und leckeres Essen zu einem angemessenen Preis. Alle in unserer Runde waren mit Ihrem Essen sehr zufrieden, alles wirkte wirklich selbstgemacht (also keine Convenience Produkte). Änderungen an Beilagen waren in beliebigem Umfang problemlos möglich. Die Raumaufteilung ist auch so gestaltet, dass es nicht zu laut wird. Eine Reservierung ist dringend zu empfehlen - selbst an einem normalen Dienstag haben wir nur mit Glück noch einen Tisch für fünf bekommen. Ich kann das Restaurant uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Wir gehen jedes Jahr zum Essen hin. Die Käsesuppe ist die beste der Region und das Käsefondue ist sehr empfehlenswert. Auch die anderen Gerichte sind sehr lecker.

Wir waren 2x zu fünft hier essen - und alle waren hochzufrieden. Egal ob Fleischgerichte oder vegetarische Speisen, es war alles auf dem Punkt und super lecker. Die Portionen sind groß, der sehr gute Beilagensalat wird anderswo als Salatschüssel verkauft... Der Service war fix und freundlich. Gemütliche Räume.

Achtung, Falschauskunft bezüglich Allergen! Wer eine Lebensmittelallergie hat, sollte unbedingt einen großen Bogen um dieses Lokal machen! Anlässlich einer Familienfeier fragte ich telefonisch nach, ob es auch etwas glutenfreies für mein Kind, das Zöliakie hat, gibt. Erste Auskunft: ich solle ins Internet schauen, da stehe die Karte. Im Internet stand aber zu Allergenen, man solle sich ans Personal wenden. Ich rief wieder an. Ich erhielt nun die Auskunft, ich solle mir was von der Karte aussuchen und dann werde man mir sagen, ob es glutenfrei sei. Das tat ich. Nun erhielt ich die Auskunft, dass es diese Speise nicht mehr gebe, die sei von der Winterkarte. Wo ich dann die aktuell gültige finde? Gar nicht, die ist noch nicht online. Und jetzt? Ich erhielt die Auskunft, es gebe Falafel auf der Sommerkarte. Die seien glutenfrei. Ich fragte, ob man da ganz sicher sei, denn oft ist vorgefertigten Falafeln Weizen zugesetzt. Ich bekam die Auskunft, die seien ganz sicher glutenfrei. Vor Ort fragte ich dann sicherheitshalber nochmal und bekam dieselbe Auskunft. Ganz sicher glutenfrei. Die Falafel kamen - mit Couscous, der offensichtlich aus Weizen war. Ich wies mein Kind an, den Couscous nicht anzurühren und konfrontierte die Bedienung damit. Die erklärte, sie kläre das ab, kam nach wenigen Minuten wieder und teilte mit, nicht nur der Couscous, sondern auch die Falafel enthielten Weizen. Mein Kind hatte bis dahin schon 4 Stück gegessen. Am nächsten Vormittag bekam ich von der Schule einen Anruf, dass ich es abholen soll, da es so schlimme Bauchschmerzen hatte. In den 12 Jahren seit der Diagnose meines Kindes habe ich keinen solchen Hammer in irgendeinem Restaurant erlebt, ich bin immer noch fassungslos.

Wir haben schon öfter in diesem Lokal gegessen und es war bis dato alles okay! Dieses mal waren wir mit Gästen dort, das Essen hat niemanden von uns geschmeckt! Reklamationen wurden von dem Ober und der Chefin mit einer Überheblichkeit abgetan! Wir können das Restaurant nicht mehr weiter empfehlen!

Super Essen und einen schönen Gasthof, Service hervorragend

Ankommen und wohlfühlen. Alles hat gepasst. Das Zimmer und Bett war super gemütlich. Mehrmals gegessen und alles hat super geschmeckt. Der Service war klasse und das Sortiment im Hofladen auch. Und das alles bei einem guten Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Sehr viel Wissen und lecker Käse aus der Käseschule von Georg mitgenommen.

Unserer festen Tischzusage konnte man nicht nachkommen! Sollten uns in dem Eingangsbereich an einem sogenannten Katzentisch setzen! Haben wir abgelehnt und das Lokal verlassen! Haben dann in Oberstaufen eine sehr gute Alternative gefunden! Diese Überheblichkeit und unbegründete Äußerung von der Betreiberin haben wir uns nicht gefallen gelassen! Aus diesem Grund raten wir unbedingt davon ab, dieses Restaurant zu besuchen! Herauskommende Gäste äusserten sich, dass die Küche miserabel sei! Zum Glück ist uns das alles erspart geblieben!

Hier gibt's noch Kässpatzen wie ich es von daheim gewohnt war. Da zieht der Käse noch lange Fäden. Das haben die anderen Wirtschaften alle verlernt, da die meisten Fabrikware nehmen.

Ich komme immer wieder gerne hierher und fühle mich sehr wohl. Das Essen ist hervorragend. Kinder sind auch sehr willkommen.

Leider war die Bedienung sehr unfreundlich und überhaupt nicht kooperativ, was Wünsche und Fragen angeht. Das vegane Curry war ganz lecker, aber leider herrschte keine schöne Atmosphäre.. Schade!

Urig gemütliches Restaurant mit einer wunderbaren Speisekarte. Der Service war aufmerksam und schnell. Ich wurde ausführlich zu glutenfreien Alternativen beraten. Glutenhaltige Menüteile wurden durch glutenfreie ersetzt und so war es wirklich ein Genuss dort zu speisen. Jederzeit wieder!!

Tisch 17.30 bestellt . Essen ok. 19.45 vom Kellner gebeten worden zu bezahlen und zu gehen da genau dieser Tisch für Gäste reserviert sei. Wir bezahlen verdutzt und sehen das die Gastwirtschaft maximal halb voll ist. Ober um Aufklärung gebeten… er hätte sich vielleicht in der Wortwahl vertan….jedoch keine Entschuldigung oder Begründung. Hatten Ferienwohnung im Ort und deshalb dort Essen. Außer Montag immer geöffnet und ein Dorfladen gleich nebeneinander. Sehr freundliches Personal, gute Speisekarte, hat immer geschmeckt. Waren für uns 2 immer Plätze frei, ohne Bestellung.

Sehr schönes urisches Restaurant mit tollen Essen. Das Käsefondue war wirklich sehr gut und wurde mit einen Obstteller abgerundet. Personal war nett und zuvorkommend.

Super lecker gegessen und sehr freundliches Personal

Wir waren schon oft im Dorfhaus essen und man isst vieles sehr gutes! Aber die Kasspatzn sind leider eine Katastrophe - haben in einer leicht wässrigen Flüssigkeit gelegen (siehe Bild), kaum Käsegeschmack und leider wirklich die schlechtesten die wir je gegessen haben (und das leider im Allgäu & bei einer Käserei). Das Käsefondue, der Denneberger Salat etc alles tolle Gerichte und noch nie enttäuscht worden und auch der Service immer nett, sowie das Ambiente in der Stube :) nur leider ist stark von den Kasspatzn abzuraten!

We waited over 1.5 hours for our food, and it took half an hour before someone came to refill our drinks. The mushroom cream sauce wasn't a sauce, it was a soup! The cheese spaetzle was much too soft, either overcooked or left in the bain-marie for too long. The potato salad tasted like a bucket. The food was generally very bland. Not recommended.

Beautiful location, a modern restaurant with a rustic, old-fashioned feel. The food was delicious. Unfortunately, the service leaves a lot to be desired; you're not asked for a drink for 30 minutes, and you sit with an empty glass. Another major negative: even though the restaurant wasn't full, the table was cleared after quite some time and only after being asked to do so. There's room to improve here.

We spontaneously went there for dinner on October 7, 2025, with six people. We got a nice table in the modern dining room. The service was very friendly and attentive. The food arrived at the same time, and everyone was very satisfied with their meal. We'd love to come back again sometime!

We were there for a business lunch. I got a table for seven people at short notice, unfortunately it was a rush, but at least we had room. The service was pleasant, attentive, but not annoying. The food took a while to arrive, but it was very tasty and of impeccable quality. The seating is a bit rustic, but super comfortable. We would come back.

Arrogance instead of hospitality The food is truly excellent and the beer garden is beautiful – so far, the staff has always been friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, two encounters with the same waiter ruined the overall positive impression: arrogance instead of apology for a botched reservation, and disrespectful behavior on the next visit as well. That's not how you treat guests. We're left with a bitter aftertaste – a shame about such a lovely place.

The village house combines the charm of a rustic mountain hut with the coziness of an old Allgäu farmhouse. The interior, with its wood-rich decor, warm lighting, and an open fireplace with a large copper kettle for cheese-making, immediately creates a cozy atmosphere. In summer, the idyllic courtyard with its fountain invites you to linger outdoors. The excellent, attentive service and authentic, delicious cuisine perfectly complement the ambiance. We were there for dinner on August 22, 2025, with six people. We had a wonderful time in the beautiful, cozy dining room. The service was very friendly and attentive. The food arrived at the same time, and everyone was very satisfied with their meal. We will definitely be back.

A very lovely country inn where you immediately feel at home – either rustic and cozy inside or modernly furnished, outside with a small beer garden shaded by a bubbling fountain. We visited three times during our vacation and were thoroughly impressed each time: delicious dishes, friendly service, and even our reservation requests via email were answered promptly and easily. Highly recommended!

We ate at the restaurant and were absolutely thrilled. The menu is excellent, regional, varied, and, above all, a great selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes. It's also a great menu for kids. The price/performance ratio is absolutely spot on, and you never get the impression that anything isn't right. We'll definitely be back.

We're from the Allgäu region and eat at the Dorfhaus about three times a year. :-) We usually go to the restaurant, which is beautifully decorated. We really like the parlors; the seating is very quaint. We probably wouldn't try it in the evening without a reservation, or at least call ahead. This time, however, we were out on a whim in the afternoon and were craving something light. We managed to get a table in the beer garden – really nice, under the tree in the shade, with a babbling fountain in the middle... very relaxing. ♥ The service was super friendly, as always (we've never had unfriendly service here), and we both ordered "Sauren Käs" (sour cheese) first... and then treated ourselves to coffee and cake. The quality is always top-notch – there's nothing to be desired. ☺ Our recommendations are the cheese fondue, the Denneberger salad, and the Dorfhaus cheese pralines. We felt very comfortable every time and enjoyed the food and ambiance. See you again soon – best regards to the kitchen and service – keep up the good work!

Despite having a reservation, we didn't get a table. The waiter was very unfriendly, so we left.

We left by chance because we were hungry. Initially, we wanted to stop at the other inn in town. Luckily, they only served hot meals until 2:30 p.m., so on the recommendation of this inn (which also left a positive impression), we stopped at the Thalkirchdorfer Dorfhaus. What can I say...it was love and well-being at first sight. We simply felt welcome. The food was terrific, the service super friendly. The little shop right next door is addictive to shopping :-) You can also stay overnight here, and we will definitely do that sometime. We'll be back!

After a beautiful day at Lake Constance, on the way back from Bregenz to Sonthofen, we came across this fantastic restaurant. Ample parking, beautiful shady terrace with a beautiful fountain and incredibly delicious food. Price quality ratio is very good. Recommended!

Dreamy chalets, a great breakfast, a cozy restaurant with excellent food, a lovely beer garden, and the village shop is simply adorable. Thankfully, nothing has changed here in years. It's simply the most charming place you can imagine.

A quaint but also very beautiful and modern house. A successful combination of tradition and modernity. We always enjoy eating there on vacation. In summer, there's a lovely garden with a fountain for sitting. The Dorstube is also very quaint and highly recommended. The menu isn't overly extensive, but it's all the more delicious. You get the feeling that time has stood still in this village house. The rooms and chalets are very high-quality. A visit or a stay is definitely worth it.

We just went to the hotel restaurant to eat a local cheese fondue served with pieces of bread and fruit. It was delicious. The staff is very friendly and the setting is beautiful.

It's always incredibly delicious, and the prices are perfectly reasonable. Very friendly staff, and the kids even get art supplies.

Including spontaneous food decorations, which she was very happy about ;-) We always enjoy coming back because the service and quality are simply top-notch. We've also hosted family meals, weddings, and school enrollment dinners here. The nearby playground is also ideal for the kids to let off steam after dinner. We always enjoy coming back!

We were here for the first time. The spinach dumplings with salad were very tasty and the staff was friendly. After your meal you can stroll through the in-house village shop (there you can find small gifts, postcards, tea, soaps and much more) and delicious cheese. Clear recommendation.

Super great village house! We spent 4 days here and it was incredible. When we arrived we were personally taken to the room by the owner. The breakfast was more than sufficient and made with a lot of love. The sauna was turned on every time we wanted to visit it. This took about 30 minutes; which is perfectly fine. We found enough towels and bathrobes in the room. There was a refrigerator and a television and there was always the opportunity to make tea in the room. The bathroom was very clean, as was the rest of the room. The bed was super comfortable and big. A wardrobe and a safe, as well as light-tight curtains made the room perfect. In the evenings we enjoyed eating in the house restaurant. Price-performance ratio was always right. My favorite was the village house - Brotzeit. There is a bus stop 5 minutes away and there is a lot to explore around. Thanks to the Oberstaufen Plus card, which we received free of charge when booking, the bus was free. We got free tickets for many cable cars and toboggan runs. We were also able to rent an e-bike for one day and didn't have to pay anything. We would love to come back and can only recommend this! We are thrilled ☺️

Very nice village house in which we felt very comfortable. Wonderfully furnished rooms, delicious food and a relaxing sauna. Everything clean and well maintained. The staff at the hotel is very helpful and very friendly. You can quickly get to Oberstaufen by bus, where everything is on offer. In conjunction with the Oberstaufen Plus card, many things are free or discounted. A small hotel-owned shop offers everyday items. All in all a very relaxing and lovely stay. Great again and definitely a recommendation to friends and acquaintances.

We really enjoy coming here to eat when we go on a trip to the Allgäu. The cheese spaetzle is highly recommended, as is the Denneberger salad. There are lots of beautiful things to discover in the in-house village shop (small gifts, postcards, tea, soaps and much more) and delicious cheese. Shopping for food and souvenirs is really fun here.

After a walk in the village and along the railway we stopped for a drink in this place: very nice with friendly service. They have a shop where you can buy local products.
