Wir hatten eine tolle Allgäuer Käse Brotzeit, die sehr liebevoll zubereitet war und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Ambiente ist wirklich sehr angenehm, man sitzt sehr gemütlich und das Personal ist sehr freundlich & aufmerksam - vielen lieben Dank, wir kommen gerne wieder :)

Die Küche ist kreativ und bodenständig- selten so gut gegessen- die Zutaten regional, frisch und harmonisch aufeinander abgestimmt. Dazu der freundliche und herzliche Service und das tolle urige Ambiente. Besser geht’s nicht.

Sehr leckeres Essen und freundliches Personal dazu leckeres Bier Was kann man sich mehr wünschen. Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist auch gut.

Wir haben 69 € für zwei Personen bezahlt. Auf die Frage des Kellners, ob alles schmeckt, antwortete ich, dass der Fisch zu salzig sei. Seine Reaktion: „Warum sagen Sie das nicht früher?“ Als Kunde sollte ich mich nicht rechtfertigen müssen, wann ich Kritik äußere. Zudem war die Forelle für den Preis viel zu klein. Hier zahlt man viel, bekommt aber wenig Leistung. Sehr schade!

Ausgezeichnetes Essen in authentischer Atmosphäre. Sehr freundliche und aufmerksame Bedienung. Für uns hat alles gepasst - jederzeit wieder.

Ein Traum von Zwiebelrostbraten.

Topadresse, Sehr feines Essen und netter Service! Einzig; es wird zeitlich getaktet, 18-20 h und 20- 22- h. April 2026 wieder dort. Die gute Qualität wurde beibehalten, wie auch das nette Personal. Sehr schmackhaft.

Wir wählten das Gasthaus nach Angaben in G.-Maps, inkl. der veröffentlichten Speisekarte. Die Forelle war dann aber 2,70€ teurer. Natürlich gilt die gedruckte Speisekarte, aber ich sehe es als unlauter an, mit veralteten Preisen in Google zu werben. Die Portion war so knapp bemessen, dass wir mit Hunger das Lokal verlassen haben. Das ist bei dem überdurchschnittlichen Preis von 28,60 nicht akzeptabel. Die Zubereitung war gut und allein bewertet 4 Sterne wert. Etwas mehr Raffinesse mit Kräutern e.t.c. wäre für eine höhere Bewertung noch möglich. Statt des bestellten stillen Mineralwassers haben wir für stolze 6€ per Filter aufbereitetes Leitungswasser bekommen. Reines Staufener Leitungswasser ist geschmachlich besser. 6€ waren dafür ein unangemessener Preis. Auch das Ambiente bewerte ich nicht mit 5 Sternen, da das Licht so schwach ist, dass man kaum die Speisekarte erkennen kann.

Das Tartar war ein Genuss. Auch meine Kollegen fanden ihre Gerichte top. In diesem Restaurant lohnt es sich vorher zu reservieren. Wir waren eine Gruppe von 10 Leuten. Noch bevor alle saßen wurde gefragt, ob wie Wasser wollen und im Handumdrehen standen drei Flaschen Mineralwasser auf dem Tisch. Es machte den Eindruck, dass das ein kostenloses Angebot des Hauses ist, vor allem weil auf jedem Platz bereits ein Becher stand, was ja eher ungewöhnlich ist. Naja, was soll ich sagen...wir mussten die Flaschen zahlen. Solche Methoden kenne ich eigentlich nur aus dem Ausland. Aber abgesehen davon und dass die Preise überdurchschnittlich sind, kann ich nichts schlechtes Berichten. Das Ambiente ist urig und erfüllt die Erwartungen des Wortes "Einkehr". Tiefe Decken, diffuses Licht und alte Deko bei Holzverkleidung und einfachverglasten Fenstern. Die Bedienung war auf Zack und nett. Wir bekamen zeitnah und zeitgleich unsere Essen. Wie bereits erwähnt waren alle mit der Qualität zufrieden. Die Fleischkomponenten haben alle überzeugt. Wer gute Qualität mag, gern satt wird und bereit ist etwas mehr auszugeben, der ist hier richtig.

Absolut empfehlenswert. Allgäuer Spezialitäten in authentisch-urigem Ambiente. Großartiges Essen. Service super zuvorkommend, einfach allen Mitarbeitenden spürt man die Freude an der Arbeit an. Würden wir in Oberstaufen wohnen, hätten wir hier unser Stammrestaurant gefunden.

Wir waren heute nur für ein Vesper am frühen Abend dort und haben auch ohne Reservierung einen Platz bekommen. Gegen 19 Uhr war jeder Tisch besetzt. Eine Reservierung würde ich daher empfehlen. Gemütlich zünftige Einrichtung, freundlicher Service. Portionen mehr als ausreichend. Gute Auswahl an Speisen und wechselnde Wochenkarte. Wir kommen wieder.

Wir waren schon ein paar Mal in der Altstaufner Einkehr, heute das erste Mal nach sechs Jahren. Es war sehr lecker, super Service! Trotz hohem Andrang nimmt sich das Personal für jeden Gast die nötige Zeit.

Tolles Restaurant mit toller Karte und sehr freundlichen Mitarbeitern. Wir war zum fünft als Familie zum Abendessen und alle waren sehr glücklich.

Sehr gutes Lokal zentral in Oberstaufen. Das Essen und der Sevice waren spitze. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis passt sehr gut.

Ein Restaurant, das sich sehr lohnt, wenn man sehr guten Service, wunderschönes Ambiente und hervorragende Küche sucht. Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Abend im Altstaufen verbracht. Schade, dass es unser letzter Abend war, sonst würden wir morgen wieder kommen. Eine wirklich erste Wahl.

Mag sein, das es nicht viel besseres hier gibt aber ich fand es nur mittel - außerdem wurde jemand mit Hund abgelehnt obwohl das Lokal halb leer war - fand ich nicht gut - Herzlichkeit muss sein !

Passt alles sehr gut, tolles Personal. Immer wieder gerne.

Meines Erachtens die beste Gaststätte die Oberstaufen zu bieten hat. Das Essen ist sehr gut und der Service sehr professionell.Es passt wirklich alles. Wir hatten wieder einmal Glück und einen Tisch auch ohne Reservierung erhalten. Jederzeit wieder.

Selten so gut gegessen! Und einfach ein einmaliges Ambiente

Das Essen war einfach ein Traum und ist jedem nur ans Herz zu legen. Die Ente war Butter zart und man muss wirklich sagen auch die anderen Gerichte waren hervorragend. So gutes Essen habe ich schon lange nicht mehr gegessen in der Form und muss jedem nur empfehlen sich auch mal selbst auf diese kulinarische Reise zu begeben. Wenn ich hoffentlich bald mal wieder in Oberstaufen zu Gast bin werde ich auf jeden Fall wiederkehren.

Hier stimmte alles ! Spitzen essen. Hier findet man auf der Karte gleich mehrere Gerichte die man essen will. Wir waren eine große Gruppe und hier war für jeden was dabei. Unsere Kinder haben ihr Essen zu erst bekommen, hier weiß man wie Service funktioniert. Der Service war ebenso absolut top! Also rundherum ein tolles Restaurant !

Das Essen ist in Ordnung, die Soßen sind allerdings nix Besonderes und schmecken eher nach Tüte. Das Fleisch war gut, der Service fertigt einen halt schnell ab. Auf die Frage welche Biere es vom Fass gäbe, wurde mit "ja" geantwortet und einfach irgend eines gebracht. Der Vorspeisensalat wird nicht vorher, sondern zum Hauptgang dazu gebracht - aber vllt hatte ich bei über 45min Wartezeit auch einfach eine andere Erwartungshaltung. Es ist voll und relativ laut und man fühlt sich angetrieben, da man in der Reservierung max 2h eingeplant wird. Das Gasthaus ist urig mit niedrigen Decken und Kachelöfen und eng Bestuhlung. Größere Hunde sind nicht willkommen.

The best restaurant in the region, with extremely attentive staff. The service was fast and to the point. The cart and everything we ordered was perfect. If we'd known it was so popular, we would have made reservations for every day of our vacation. But you should reserve a week in advance. We'll be back.

We ate at the Altstaufner Einkehr yesterday – it was simply unbelievably delicious! The atmosphere is cozy, the service super friendly, and the food absolutely fantastic. It was completely full, but the staff were so kind and offered us a table even if we were leaving in an hour – it worked out perfectly. A real insider tip in Oberstaufen! Be sure to make a reservation in advance, it's worth it!

Highly recommended rustic restaurant with very (!) good cuisine. We went there last night for dinner with two large groups. Of course, we made reservations well in advance. The place always seems to be fully booked. Kudos to the owner and the staff. Despite a full house and restless customers, they were always friendly. Very fast, good service and, above all, the delicious food. An extensive menu with cold and hot dishes. Everyone in our group raved about it. From grilled tuna sashimi on salad with goat's cheese and avocado, to roast beef with onions and venison goulash, to fresh trout: everything was fantastic! And, of course, a fine selection of desserts! A good wine selection, and, of course, tasty beer.

Do you know that feeling when you're halfway through a meal and are already sad that it's almost over? Absolutely outstanding meat quality, paired with generous portions. Frank Rosin definitely doesn't need to go here, except maybe for the food :-)

First of all: highly recommended, a must-visit. Atmosphere: dark interior with lots of wood – local flavor! Service and seating a bit unusual, but nothing to complain about. The food recommendation was worth its weight in gold. The food was delicious (gourmet-level). The menu features predominantly local dishes.

Delicious Wiener Schnitzel! A truly rustic and lovely atmosphere. Unfortunately, (larger) dogs are not welcome :-(

Wow the ambience was beautiful, the service was very friendly, they were able to give advice and often checked to see if everything was okay, and the food was world class, we had the onion roast beef and the pasta and both were just perfect, definitely recommended and just wow!!!

The three of us were here and had roast beef with onions, steak tartare, and spaghetti with shrimp. All three dishes were excellent, the roast beef with onions was a revelation. We'll be back.

A very enthusiastic waitress serves the finest regional dishes in a rustic, handcrafted wooden interior. Always happy to return when visiting Oberstaufen.

Super delicious food. Roast beef, pork medallions, veal schnitzel, Maultaschen (swabian ravioli)... all at an upscale level. A great restaurant with a small but very cozy beer garden area. It's worth a little detour.

Absolutely fantastic! In this quaint and charming establishment, the service impressed us from the first minute to the end with friendliness and a seemingly constant presence and attention. Not just until the main course, as we unfortunately found in 90% of our experiences at other restaurants. Here, it was pure enthusiasm. Then the food… if you can even call it that casually. The perfectly prepared dishes spoiled our palates with perfectly balanced flavors. The regional meat couldn't have been juicier or more tender. With almost twenty years of experience in the culinary arts, I can definitely say I know what I'm talking about. In my opinion, what is offered here is gastronomy of the highest caliber, with great attention to detail and the product. You don't always need a Michelin star to cook honestly and with perfect craftsmanship, regional cuisine. Often, the love for what you do is more valuable. Thank you for allowing us to share in this wonderful culinary experience. We are already looking forward to our next visits.

The food was absolutely outstanding! The unique tartar and the children's dishes are definitely worth highlighting! Even grown-ups will be satisfied with these, and they're prepared just as wonderfully and freshly as everything else! We really appreciate that, even though the quality is impressive there! Sehr gut. Wirklich SUPER Ambiente, alles sehr traditionell und gemütlich eingerichtet. Die Preise sind normal, die Portionen auch. Dafür wird das Essen sehr frisch und selbstgemacht zubereitet. Es ist sehr lecker. Es werden verschiedene Biere vom Fass als auch nicht vom Fass angeboten. Außerdem gibt es Zahlreiche Spirituosen. Es gibt aber auch eine gute Auswahl an Alkoholfreien Getränken. Die Auswahl an Gerichten ist nicht besonders groß, aber bei weitem OK. Ansonsten ist es sehr sauber und am Anfang der Oberstaufener Innenstadt gelegen, gut erreichbar.

Truly 5 stars exceptional. Thank you mostly to the gracious hosts, we were welcomed with such kindness and fun humour even though they were sooo busy. They made room for us without a reservation and then we went on to have the most delicious meal. You can taste the quality of the ingredients. Well done to such a fantastic family run restaurant. ❤️

The Altstaufner Einkehr is a real eye-catcher even from the outside – the beautiful building really makes you want to go inside. Inside, a large, cozy courtyard and rustic rooms, reminiscent of alpine huts, await you – absolutely homey. The menu leaves little to be desired; the portions are quite large and look very appetizing. Value for money? - Top! The friendly and fast service is also particularly noteworthy. A successful visit – highly recommended. Reservations required!

The homemade boiled beef in aspic simply made me happy 😋, but the fried potatoes could have been better. The service was very, very friendly, but a bit stressed and overwhelmed; it was simply full. That's why we had to wait a little longer for our drinks. The atmosphere is cozy, and the noise level is good for having a conversation. My comment about the food, as above, was noted and actually passed on to the kitchen with interest. I would eat the aspic again anytime. It was one of the best dishes I've ever eaten. When I go out to eat, I actually want to find something on every menu that isn't available in other restaurants. This wish was granted. I would gladly go back anytime.

The food was excellent. We had four different dishes, and each one was top-notch.

We went late for dinner after a long beautiful hiking trip. We were still in our hiking clothes but no one looked at us weird. After all Bavaria is a great hiking area. In a cozy atmosphere the guests are dressed up and quite talkative and the waiters are kept sometimes for too long in the conversation... However, the guests do apologise when it is the case... We wanted some good food and we enjoyed some traditional bavarian soup and Wiener Schnitzel. The restaurant is nice and pretty much alive. We will definitely visit it again and recommend it further.

When looking for a cozy restaurant, we clearly went in the right direction. On January 1st, 2025... This is how the year can begin! We didn't have a reservation and were given a seat at the entrance. Zero annoying because very interesting! We noticed the friendly waitresses who warmly greeted the guests and wished them a happy new year. The Maultaschen were really good and the salad was fresh and colorful from the vegetable garden, just like at home. The ambience speaks for itself. Quaint and cozy! I'll definitely come back!

We had an outstanding evening at the Altstaufner Einkehr! The food was simply fantastic. The salad was super fresh and tasted great - the dressing was simple but incredibly tasty. The onion roast from Allgäuer PrimaRind was perfect - the meat was as tender as butter and the meat juice rounded the whole thing off. My wife had the venison goulash with homemade spaetzle, red cabbage and cranberries – an absolute delight! The children's schnitzel for our son was also really good. What particularly impressed us was the friendliness of the team. You always had the feeling that someone was thinking about it, and in such a pleasant and unobtrusive way. A really relaxed and successful evening - many thanks to the Altstaufner Einkehr team!

To be honest, we were pleasantly surprised because we are often skeptical about more traditional restaurants than vegetarians. The selection isn't huge in this case, but it's really good. Super nice service, very tasty food and nice atmosphere.

Great ambience! You feel comfortable and warmly welcomed right from the start! The food is a dream, every course is a pleasure! Kudos to the kitchen!! Quality is very important here, we are thrilled! The pumpkin and flatbread soup started wonderfully and was surpassed by the rump steak and venison! But the dessert was also an absolute dream! The apple fritters and the Bavarian cream complemented the meal perfectly. And further praise goes to the charming service staff. A smile for everyone, no long waiting times, very attentive and super friendly! Thank you for the lovely evening with you! We'd love to come back!

Hier hat einfach alles gepasst. Sehr freundliches Personal. Auch ohne Reservierung hat man alles versucht, um für uns noch einen Platz zu finden. Das Ambiente ist gemütlich und einladend. Sonderbestellungen waren kein Problem. Die Qualität des Essens war erstklassig und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt absolut. Wir sind am nächsten Tag gleich nochmal gegangen.

Very nice, friendly waitresses who still enjoy their job. The food was a mega dream. My meal, the homemade pasta with grilled vegetables, was more than harmonious. All the vegetables were perfect and everything retained its own (very good) taste. The kitchen staff also love their job. It was still nice and warm in the winter garden in mid-October and blankets were even handed out. Very very highly recommended!!!
