Thai Mama Bistro - Asian Kitchen & Sushi Sendlinger Tor in München

Was in this restaurant for the first time today and ordered "crispy duck" for lunch and it was a hit. Wonderful, well seasoned sauce and everything else tasted wonderful. The mango nectar was also a poem and the glass poured very well. Very friendly service. A very clear recommendation

The staff is always friendly and accommodating, but a bit reserved. Depending on volume, an order may take longer. The food itself is average. The quality is acceptable, but the portion is good (just a little more rice would be desirable). Please note that the food is prepared with flavor enhancers (see menu). You can see it and taste it. However, you have to keep in mind that the price/performance is fair. Of course, given the prices, only a limited amount can be expected. However, the very good rating seems slightly exaggerated to me. The restaurant itself is simple, but is not intended for a long stay.

We were there at lunchtime because of the very good reviews. Unfortunately the quality was rather mixed. The wontons were very crispy and tasty. Both main courses were solid, but tasted rather bland. The broth of the Pho was very watery. The meat was tough. The vegetables in the curry and pho were fresh and tasty.

It is a small restaurant where a lot of people order to take away or wait on site for the order to be ready. Menus are available until 3 p.m., when the shop was full, after which you can sit a little more relaxed. Extensive map, nothing to find, not possible. Drinks menu equally well stocked for such a small restaurant. Reservation worked great and we had delicious meals twice, once the duck was a bit dry. But that can also be done in upscale places r restaurant pass. Dishes beautifully prepared...so worth a visit. Not suitable for staying longer. It was 2 hours and wonderful.

I always love the family run businesses, not sure if this one but it definitely gives you the feeling. The quality of the food and presentation are top notch 👌 we enjoyed the food a lot and it was really delicious for such a small business. Would definitely come back here always whenever I'm in town. Dropped in when I saw they had fried rice with duck (also available with noodles) on the menu outside. Glad I did. It was pretty good! Service was quite nice.

Guys you must visit this this place , the food was such a good quality and quantity with affordable price in city centre. Everything is good - service, people and food but I feel the lights could be more warm giving it more cozy and dine look ( haha). Overall a nice place.

The food is really good and lives up to the reviews. However, I have one major point of criticism: both my clothes and those of my companion smelled like a deep fryer after the stay. I'm not talking about a light scent, it was like we were both working in the kitchen. Even hanging it outside for two days didn't help at all, even the jackets had to be put in the washing machine and even after washing they still smelled slightly greasy. I've sometimes experienced this from duck fat in Asian restaurants, but never to this extent and intensity. So unfortunately we won't be coming back, even if the food is good.

I had a spontaneous meal there today with a friend. And I was pleasantly surprised! A rather inconspicuous restaurant from the outside but very nicely decorated inside, the staff were also very friendly! The food was very authentic, definitely fresh and delicious. Service was excellent, empty dishes were cleared away immediately and food came quickly. We will definitely come back more often 🙌🏻

For me the food is not tasty because the price is a bit expensive, but for the sushi the taste is okay. But this is not a real Thai restaurant, the atmosphere is nice, the place is small and warm.

We just walked by on our trip to Munich. A small place but very quiet and cosy. We had the Crunchy Chicken and Shrimp Sushi and a Pad Thai. The Pad Thai is the best! Really recommend it.

The shop is inconspicuous from the outside. We went based on the Google review and got fantastic food. The sushi is generously filled and rolled beautifully. The Tom Kha Gai was velvety and fresh at the same time. The Nowl with noodles, salad, herbs and spring rolls and the dishes with rice, pepper sauce or oyster sauce and duck were super delicious. The portions are really sufficient. Drr mint tea was with FRESH mint and honey - I celebrate this so much that it is no longer a given. Everything was delivered very quickly and the service was excellent. The price-performance ratio is right here. It really is an insider tip! Thank you for the lovely evening with you.

Definitely worth a visit! This Thai restaurant is a hidden gem! The ambiance is cozy and inviting, and the food is not only delicious but also incredibly affordable, with generous portions. We started with some rolls, which were crispy and flavorful, and for the main course, we had noodles with vegetables and Thai curry with rice—both dishes were packed with authentic flavor and tasted amazing. You'll be given a Chinese snack at the end with a message.

The restaurant is a bit inconspicuous from the outside, but it's well worth a visit! The sushi is freshly prepared and there is no skimping on the fish. It's super delicious! The service was also very friendly and always asked if everything was OK.

This little place offered a variety of Japanese, Thai, and Vietnamese dishes. Overall, it was a good experience and the staff was very friendly. Though, the satay chicken to be a bit too salty for my liking. The pho soup isn’t as rich and flavourful but the portion was generous .

The only tiny drawback were the old yellowed sockets/light switches directly on the table, which were improperly covered with tape (the sockets/switches+frames should be replaced) Still 5 stars and highly recommended

Nice little Thai restaurant in a good location. The food tastes good, the staff is friendly and the price/performance ratio is still very fair for Munich compared to other Asian restaurants (e.g. chicken curry 10.90 and a drink like Spezi 2.90). The only small drawbacks may be that there aren't many seats and that (EC) card payments are only possible from 15 euros (credit card payments don't seem to be possible at all). Still, overall a good choice and I would come again.

Very very polite staff. Creates a nice atmosphere which is more important than being an impressive facility. You can switch off here. Drink peppermint tea after your meal, it will be beautifully served. The beer is also delicious and available for under €4.00. The food was very tasty.

Nice little restaurant! The food was very good and the service too. There were two of us and our table was near the reception, the music was a little too loud for my taste and the tables were a little too close to each other. It's all ok. The food (red Thai curry with chicken) comes hot and with enough vegetables - only two three types, but well mixed. Interior seems clean and had a lounge feel because of the pleasant background music.

Sushi is pretty descent, prices are affordable and the staff is very kind! One of those small neighborhood restaurants you shouldn't miss! I will definitely be coming back

We ordered Padthai... we got it without scrambled eggs, nuts, lime, authentic spices... it was also too sweet and saucey. We couldn't finish eating because it was so bad. A pity…

When I'm in the area, I always go to Thai Mama. The food is fresh and always delicious. The Pad Thai is my favorite food, but everything else tastes fantastic too. Today we had very good sushi - every bite made me happy. This is how food should always be 😊

I ordered pad thai, this one is very wet, no egg no peanuts, the good thing is it taste good but not your regular pad thai.

Sehr freundlich! Als ich ne Pho Suppe mit Huhn und Gemüse bestellt habe hat er ( der grinser) gesagt wir haben kein Gemüse, wir haben keine Karotten. Da hab ich gesagt gestern hatte ihr noch Karotten und ein Blick nach rechts in die Küche hat es mir bestätigt, er hat Karotten. Mit Karotten schmeckt es nicht meint er. Ein hin und her, völlig Sinnlos. Am Ende gabs ne Suppe ( fad) aber scharf bestellt mit Karotten und Rind oder Schein anstatt Huhn. Ich frag ihn warum wir überhaupt geredet haben, er nur: ich weiss nicht. Er grinst 🙈🙈🙈 Was ist los in Deutschland??
