Thai Aroma in Berlin

★★★☆☆ We went to Thai Aroma without doing any research beforehand, expecting more Thai cuisine. In fact, the food has a strong Vietnamese flavor. The noodle soup is more reminiscent of pho than guay tiew, and the chicken is the same as the satay skewers, including the marinade. It's not bad food, but it's not what you'd expect from authentic Thai cuisine.

Relaxed atmosphere, delicious food, and child-friendly. Highly recommended!

Thai Aroma is a lovely little spot with a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The interior is tastefully decorated, creating a relaxing vibe that makes you feel relaxed. The food was delicious – full of authentic Thai flavors – and everything was served very quickly. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall pleasant experience. A great place to enjoy a peaceful meal with great service and tasty Thai cuisine.

I've lived in this neighborhood for 25 years, and until now, there was always one place I avoided for some strange reason – absolutely honest Thai cuisine for a small price. Friendly service, food arrived in less than 10 minutes (I worked in the restaurant industry for years myself and was really confused) – it was a lovely evening with my mom, we were both full and happy. If you fancy an ice cream, head to Cafe Ludo afterward, right next door and also open until 10 p.m. It's also summer vacation right now, and Duncker Street is really nice and quiet; somehow, there was a pleasant conversation going on at all the tables; our neighbor just asked, "Are you eating yet? Is it okay if we smoke?" The person at the third table said, "Guys, please don't smoke." So my table and the other one moved to the other side of the street and immediately met new people. Nice overall impression, reasonable price, honest food, people who think the same way as me as other guests – we'd gladly go back.

Small but perfectly formed. The ambiance has become a bit dated, but that doesn't detract from the taste of the food. The service is very friendly and strives to fulfill all requests.

This is my first time here. The atmosphere of the restaurant looks comfortable and the food tastes delicious.

I'm Thai and can't recommend the food. As soon as I saw the Vietnamese staff, I thought it might not taste authentic, but I thought I'd give it a try. My fears were unfortunately confirmed for everything we ate (Pad Thai, green curry, red curry, som tam). It tasted nothing like the respective dish and had little to do with Thai. Considering that there are many very good, truly authentic Thai restaurants in Berlin, I definitely won't be visiting this one again. Also, payment is cash only.

A restaurant with an incredible menu and atmosphere. I really appreciated that the menu wasn’t a cliche for a Thai restaurant; basically all the options looked amazing and we had a hard time deciding what to order. In the end, we chose chicken with peanut sauce and beef with lemon grass, both of which I would 100% recommend. The flavors were balanced, it was well seasoned, and absolutely scrumptious. Very nice interior and even the outdoor seating was very comfortable. The staff was very nice and helpful. I will definitely come back if I visit Berlin again.

Amazing food and great value for money.

The food wasn't tasty; the duck was tough, and the side dish was canteen-style raw food. The portions were very small, despite the high prices. But the worst thing was the hostility towards children and parents (just what "the" thing is for Prenzlauer Berg).

Indoor and outdoor seating. Large selection, including vegetarian and vegan options. Very friendly service. They also offer a few creative refreshments in addition to the usual fare. My vegetarian meal with mango and coconut sauce was excellent! My companions were also thrilled.

The restaurant is nice and cozy. Despite being full, the background noise was pleasant. The service was consistently friendly and attentive. A friend of ours is a regular guest here and invited us. Our main courses were aromatic and very tasty. The summer roll with tofu that we had as a starter was unfortunately a bit tasteless. I would have liked a spicier sauce. Overall, a 100% recommendation! You can immerse yourself here, enjoy it and then leave satisfied.

We made a reservation for a Friday evening and had to wait a full 45 minutes for some of our friends due to delays in our group. Despite this delay, we were allowed to keep our table the entire time - truly exceptional service! The service was incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome and comfortable from the first moment. The order was taken quickly and the food was served quickly. The starters were great and the main course even exceeded our expectations. Everything was at the highest level in terms of taste and quality! The price-performance ratio is also special - compared to many other restaurants in Berlin, the food here is significantly cheaper, without lacking in quality or taste. Everyone in our group was absolutely satisfied and we can't wait to come back soon. A big thank you and lots of love to the team for this great experience!

I really don't know where the good comments and so many stars come from. The restaurant is well decorated, but has little or nothing to do with Thai cuisine. It looks more like a typical, Germanized Vietnamese restaurant. Anyone looking for authenticity will be disappointed here - there are many places where you can get much better and more authentic food. The location in Prenzlauer Berg should not be a reason to eat here. The service was also disappointing. I was spoken to by a member of staff in an inappropriately stern tone where a polite tone would have been appropriate. I also had the impression that the employees were more accommodating to white customers than to Asian guests - which is particularly irritating since the employees themselves are of Asian origin. Another point that needs to be mentioned critically: only cash payment is possible in the restaurant. One should be careful, as this can unfortunately often be a reason for tax evasion.

I once ordered Pad Thai. Unfortunately that had little to do with Pad Thai. The taste is bland to inedible. It was also too spicy and so I couldn't serve my son the second dish. I threw it away. Pad Thai is never spicy! This is what the chefs should already know about their national dish.

One of my gastro professional friends recommended me this place and I was surprised how good it was! The nicest service, exciting menu and a really good yellow tofu curry with lot of winter vegetables. The atmosphere is also wonderful with every small detail.

This is the best Thai food I have ever eaten in Germany😭😭 The stir-fried beef with water spinach is especially recommended. It is slightly spicy and full of garlic flavor and is very satisfying! We found the restaurant by chance on Google and were absolutely thrilled! Very tasty starters such as summer rolls and spring rolls... with great sauces! Main dishes with meat or tofu, there really is something for everyone. Nice offer also for vegans or gluten-free. We had rice with tofu in coconut milk sauce and rice noodles with tofu in lime chili sauce and duck with two different sauces: coconut and peanut. The portions were very good and everything together was super tasty! Price-performance ratio really good, we ate cheaper than on Usedom or elsewhere on the Baltic Sea coast., the staff was very friendly.. we sat outside, very nice atmosphere, we just really liked it!

It is a very busy restaurant. In summer you can sit outside nicely. There aren't many dishes but the variations offered are absolutely delicious. This is our “regular Thai” here. The homemade teas and lemonades are also delicious. But I recommend making a reservation in advance.
