We ate here on our city trip to Celle and sat outside. Very friendly service! We had Obazden (traditional pork sausage) with bread for starters, followed by the raw roulades and herring with fried potatoes. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to have dessert because the portions were large. We highly recommend Thaers Wirttshaus!

We made a reservation and were only able to get a table at the counter. The service was very good and quick. The food was very tasty and the portions were generous. Everything was reasonably priced. The ambiance is very nice, and the beer garden is also large and well-attended.

This was literally one of the worst meals I have ever had. It is called “Sauerfleisch”, which is apparently cold meat in jello. I asked what it was when I ordered and this was not how it was described, or I would have ran fast. Service and atmosphere were fine, but even though my meal went back untouched I was asked to pay the full price. Just please describe on your menu what you can expect, it’s not that hard. For what it’s worth: several employees said they absolutely hate the dish too.

The staff was a bit unfriendly. Due to understaffing. I wanted to take the rest of the food with me... We're reluctant to comment... But they packed up the rest of the raw roulade for me... We'll go back to the restaurant anyway...

A highly recommended restaurant with delicious food. A popular destination, so reservations are recommended. Very friendly service, they really looked after us (two people), and were easily seated again because the reserved table was in the sun. Terrace seating is available. Totally acceptable value for money.

The food tasted really good – the roulade in particular was excellently prepared. But unfortunately, good taste alone isn't enough to leave a positive overall experience. The menu clearly lists the "Lion's Meal" as including caraway bread. I ordered fried potatoes as an extra. However, only the roulade was served with fried potatoes – the caraway bread was missing. When I asked about this, I received the irritating reply that the bread wasn't part of the fried potatoes. However, this isn't stated on the menu – there, the bread is clearly listed as an integral part of the meal. I find it disappointing when, as a guest, you have to point out such obvious errors. That's the responsibility of the restaurant – not the paying guest. Unfortunately, no compensation was offered, even though the service was objectively incomplete. Conclusion: Despite the good food, I can only give this restaurant two stars. Anyone who serves less than they sell – and then reacts rudely – has a lot of catching up to do in terms of customer service. This is not how you should treat guests in the restaurant industry.

We stopped at this restaurant during our city tour. The food was good. The service was a bit slow; there was only one server to take care of the entire restaurant that day, but was very nice and professional. They made an effort to communicate with us in English, and brought us menus in English and partially in German, which is very appreciated.

We took a short break in Celle. We went there for drinks on the first evening. It was a fantastic evening. The staff were very friendly and entertaining. We enjoyed it so much that we reserved a table for the next evening. The food there was very good. We had a great time that evening as well. We would like to thank the team very much for everything. I'm sure the Thears Inn is a great place to stay. Unfortunately, we happened to be there on the exact day that everything that could go wrong went wrong...so everyone has to make their own judgment.

It's very nice there! We were there with a larger group and had made a reservation; they have a separate room for this. The restaurant area looks nice too. Super attentive and friendly service, and a varied and exciting menu. I'll have to come back at least three more times :-)

We were just about to have dinner together. We asked a very friendly young man if we could sit outside on the benches. Of course, we were allowed to. We got our menus and had already chosen our food. Suddenly, an older employee came over and arrogantly told us that no one was allowed to sit there. When we pointed out that his colleague had allowed us to do so, he retorted, annoyed, that he must have been mistaken and walked away, gesticulating... We then got up and left; such antisocial behavior is simply primitive. Goodbye forever!

You should pay attention to the name of the place, as it's a good description. I didn't feel like I was sitting in a cozy restaurant, but rather in a pub. The decor is nothing special, but okay. The service staff was very nice, but unfortunately, orders were forgotten at the end. Hence only 4 stars. The food on the menu was varied and included dishes you wouldn't necessarily find in other restaurants. However, the quality was only mediocre for me. Not bad, but there was no wow factor either.

We like to be here every now and then. Everything is the finest, and the taste is also a delight. Unfortunately, some portions are quite "clear"... I would like more vegetables with the Riesling chicken. Taste wise 7 stars 😉💚

Thaers Wirtshaus is a modern restaurant with particularly friendly staff. From reserving the table to saying goodbye, everything was very friendly and helpful. Dogs are also welcome and a bowl of water was brought without asking.

Nice service. Unfortunately the Wiener Schnitzel was out. Too bad. The gin/tonic is significantly more at €12.50. Gin unknown and only TH Tonic, no Fever Tree. But food was okay (pork loin).

Visited this place four times during my stay in Celle. My husband and I love the Thayer beer. My husband had a dessert & an entree. Both were delicious. Staff was very pleasant & helpful Great atmosphere. Convenient to old town. Can’t wait to come back in my next visit

We were there for dinner with a group of 28 people. The food was pre-ordered. Within a very short time everyone was provided with drinks. And a short time later, various dishes arrived in one go, which everyone enjoyed very much. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Really recommended!

I ate there as a single person and even got a comfortable seat. The atmosphere is really inviting. The bar is very well equipped. I really liked the food and the price was absolutely amazing. I had a very nice waiter who even made a recommendation for dessert and as a guest (I also work in the restaurant) I think that's great. Young, very nice team. Would go back at any time

We just wanted to have a quick bite to eat on Saturday evening around 5:45 p.m. with 2 adults and 4 children. We would have been out again in 45 minutes at the latest. Football was playing on the screens and the store was completely empty. We were turned away because everything was supposedly reserved (there were only “reserved” signs on a few tables). The gentleman at the counter obviously didn't want to have 4 children. Even my 9-year-old son expressed this impression. What a shame, because otherwise the shop looked really nice and we would have liked to stay!

The restaurant is a really cool and modern version of a pub. The menu is very diverse and the vibe is very relaxed. We had the burger and the potato pizza, both great! We would particularly like to praise the service staff, a blonde lady (with bangs) served us and really put her heart into her job as a waiter, something that is not often seen anymore. Thank you!

My premiere here. I wasn't disappointed. The service was nice and attentive. The food, we had baked potatoes and I had white sausage with a pretzel. Delicious! Normal and sweet sausage was served with the white sausage. The pretzel was hot and the two sausages were also very tasty. In short: good recommendation!

We were invited here by a good friend who, as a native, comes here often. We had a great evening and were able to have a great chat (without the football broadcast). I ate the food (raw roulade) for the first time and thought it was great. The service staff also “sold” themselves well and so there was nothing to complain about but...keep it up!

Das Ambiente ist hübsch, viele kleine Tische und ein separater Raum. Auf der Karte stehen neben den bewährten Wirtshausklassikern auch Flammkuchen und Steaks. Die Kartoffelsuppe und das Steak waren sehr lecker! Einen Extrapunkt gibt’s für die sehr aufmerksamen Gastgeber! Das heimische Bier ist sehr süffig! Fazit: Absolut zu empfehlen!

The visit was great, the food was very tasty, the service was very friendly, but we rarely found it in a full restaurant. It helped that we sat at the bar, where we were treated very well. We can recommend it and would be happy to come back.

We stopped here at Thaers for the second time during our visit to Celle. The first thing we noticed was the competent and very friendly service (Sandra). More of it in Germany. The food was always great. We can only recommend this restaurant. See you next time

I was there for lunch. The food is tasty and of good quality, the price is still okay, but the drinks are far too expensive in my opinion. Large cola 6 euros...

Addendum 11-2024 Try something different, I'd love to! Apple pork currywurst - interesting. Unfortunately not for me, as the sausage is very soft, more like steamed than fried, and lacks any roasted aromas. So I don't recommend it. The other meals were very good, the fried avocado 🥑 was also something different. We'll be back. Convince yourself in simple things in order to succeed in special things, here's how. Delicious food at moderate prices with nice staff, still available, recommendation!

Mehr Gasthaus als Restaurant mit Thekenbetrieb. Der Service war schnell, schneller war nur das " Zapfen " des Pils, das nur eingeschüttet wurde und entsprechend schmeckte - von Bierkultur keine Spur! Dafür viel zu hoher CO2 - Druck in der Zapfanlage und keine Ahnung vom Bierzapfen. Schnell muss es gehen! Wir wählten aus der umfangreichen Speisekarte Entenbrust und ein Cordon bleu. Das hätten wir besser sein gelassen! Die Entenbrust zäh, die Beilage ein undefinier-barer Brei - und so schmeckte er auch! Das Cordon bleu war ein Seniorentellerchen, ein Bisschen Fleisch, ein wenig Schinken- und Käseeinlage, dafür gab es ganze Möhren, zerkocht! Der " Fürstenhof " - ein Hotel der für Kulinarik bekannten Althoff-Gruppe, hatte uns diese Jammeradresse eingebrockt. Wir bedankten uns anschließend bei der Rezeption für diesen vergessenen Abend.

You are always welcome here as a guest, even with a dog. We have never left disappointed or touched. We always feel comfortable and enjoy going to the restaurant.

Barauhaus-style gastronomy. The house's own beer and German cuisine make a nice combination for the establishment. You will receive very friendly service at high tables and benches or seating areas. The prices for food and drink are just as friendly! In summer there is also the option to sit on the terrace.

Even though we were there with a large group (around 70 people), everything went great. The food was delicious and the service staff were top notch and in a good mood. I thought it was great.

A nice restaurant with brewery charm. The staff was very nice and I got a table by the window that was reserved for later. The selection of dishes is extensive and I chose the duck breast with rosehip hummus. That was interesting and delicious :)

I had the pleasure of visiting Thaers Wirtshaus and was absolutely thrilled! The service is incredibly friendly and you immediately feel welcome. The atmosphere is pleasant and the surroundings invite you to linger. I was particularly impressed by the house beer – it tastes simply excellent! The price-performance ratio is also absolutely right. A great place to spend a nice time. I'd love to come back!
