We just wanted to have a quick bite to eat on Saturday evening around 5:45 p.m. with 2 adults and 4 children. We would have been out again in 45 minutes at the latest. Football was playing on the screens and the store was completely empty. We were turned away because everything was supposedly reserved (there were only “reserved” signs on a few tables). The gentleman at the counter obviously didn't want to have 4 children. Even my 9-year-old son expressed this impression. What a shame, because otherwise the shop looked really nice and we would have liked to stay!

The restaurant is a really cool and modern version of a pub. The menu is very diverse and the vibe is very relaxed. We had the burger and the potato pizza, both great! We would particularly like to praise the service staff, a blonde lady (with bangs) served us and really put her heart into her job as a waiter, something that is not often seen anymore. Thank you!

My premiere here. I wasn't disappointed. The service was nice and attentive. The food, we had baked potatoes and I had white sausage with a pretzel. Delicious! Normal and sweet sausage was served with the white sausage. The pretzel was hot and the two sausages were also very tasty. In short: good recommendation!

We were invited here by a good friend who, as a native, comes here often. We had a great evening and were able to have a great chat (without the football broadcast). I ate the food (raw roulade) for the first time and thought it was great. The service staff also “sold” themselves well and so there was nothing to complain about but...keep it up!

Das Ambiente ist hübsch, viele kleine Tische und ein separater Raum. Auf der Karte stehen neben den bewährten Wirtshausklassikern auch Flammkuchen und Steaks. Die Kartoffelsuppe und das Steak waren sehr lecker! Einen Extrapunkt gibt’s für die sehr aufmerksamen Gastgeber! Das heimische Bier ist sehr süffig! Fazit: Absolut zu empfehlen!

The visit was great, the food was very tasty, the service was very friendly, but we rarely found it in a full restaurant. It helped that we sat at the bar, where we were treated very well. We can recommend it and would be happy to come back.

We stopped here at Thaers for the second time during our visit to Celle. The first thing we noticed was the competent and very friendly service (Sandra). More of it in Germany. The food was always great. We can only recommend this restaurant. See you next time

I was there for lunch. The food is tasty and of good quality, the price is still okay, but the drinks are far too expensive in my opinion. Large cola 6 euros...

Addendum 11-2024 Try something different, I'd love to! Apple pork currywurst - interesting. Unfortunately not for me, as the sausage is very soft, more like steamed than fried, and lacks any roasted aromas. So I don't recommend it. The other meals were very good, the fried avocado 🥑 was also something different. We'll be back. Convince yourself in simple things in order to succeed in special things, here's how. Delicious food at moderate prices with nice staff, still available, recommendation!

Mehr Gasthaus als Restaurant mit Thekenbetrieb. Der Service war schnell, schneller war nur das " Zapfen " des Pils, das nur eingeschüttet wurde und entsprechend schmeckte - von Bierkultur keine Spur! Dafür viel zu hoher CO2 - Druck in der Zapfanlage und keine Ahnung vom Bierzapfen. Schnell muss es gehen! Wir wählten aus der umfangreichen Speisekarte Entenbrust und ein Cordon bleu. Das hätten wir besser sein gelassen! Die Entenbrust zäh, die Beilage ein undefinier-barer Brei - und so schmeckte er auch! Das Cordon bleu war ein Seniorentellerchen, ein Bisschen Fleisch, ein wenig Schinken- und Käseeinlage, dafür gab es ganze Möhren, zerkocht! Der " Fürstenhof " - ein Hotel der für Kulinarik bekannten Althoff-Gruppe, hatte uns diese Jammeradresse eingebrockt. Wir bedankten uns anschließend bei der Rezeption für diesen vergessenen Abend.

You are always welcome here as a guest, even with a dog. We have never left disappointed or touched. We always feel comfortable and enjoy going to the restaurant.

Barauhaus-style gastronomy. The house's own beer and German cuisine make a nice combination for the establishment. You will receive very friendly service at high tables and benches or seating areas. The prices for food and drink are just as friendly! In summer there is also the option to sit on the terrace.

A nice restaurant with brewery charm. The staff was very nice and I got a table by the window that was reserved for later. The selection of dishes is extensive and I chose the duck breast with rosehip hummus. That was interesting and delicious :)

Even though we were there with a large group (around 70 people), everything went great. The food was delicious and the service staff were top notch and in a good mood. I thought it was great.

I had the pleasure of visiting Thaers Wirtshaus and was absolutely thrilled! The service is incredibly friendly and you immediately feel welcome. The atmosphere is pleasant and the surroundings invite you to linger. I was particularly impressed by the house beer – it tastes simply excellent! The price-performance ratio is also absolutely right. A great place to spend a nice time. I'd love to come back!

Sehr schlechter Service und Umgang mit Gästen! Auf Nachfrage ob man den Außenbereich nutzen kann, nach kurzem Sommerregen ( 5. Tropfen ) und trotz voller Beschirmung, wurde es patzig verneint und man hatte uns in einem völlig überheblichen Ton gefragt, ob wir noch nie was von Arbeitsschutz gehört hätten, empfanden wir als absolut unangebracht, da es definitiv NICHT das Problem eines Gastes sein sollte. Als Fazit liebe Leser, im Sommer ist die Terrasse nicht zu Betreten für das Personal, ergo…kein Service.

Very poor service and treatment of guests! When we asked whether it was possible to use the outdoor area, after a short summer rain (5th drop) and despite full umbrellas, it was politely denied and we were asked in a completely arrogant tone whether we had never heard of occupational safety, we felt absolutely inappropriate as it should definitely NOT be a guest's problem. In conclusion, dear readers, in summer the staff are not allowed to enter the terrace, so...no service.

Das war wirklich sehr lecker! Interessante Speisekarte mit originellen ungewöhnlichen Speisen aber auch den klassischen Standards ! Perfekt abgeschmeckt. Sehr ansprechend auf dem Teller. Anständiges Preis/ Leistungsverhältnis. Erfahrenes umsichtiges und freundliches Servicepersonal ( heute eine Seltenheit) Trotz lebhaftem Betrieb kamen alle acht Gerichte gleichzeitig! Leckeres Bier! Virkelig lækker mad. Vi var 4 personer, alle bestilte noget forskelligt og alt var godt. Venlig betjening og en hyggelig atmosfære. Det lader til også at være en sportsbar. Kunne se at der var flere projektorer. Ikke noget vi mærker noget til, men måske noget man skal være opmærksom på ved store sportsbegivenheder.

After we took our first short walk in the old town during our short vacation in Celle, we wanted to fortify ourselves in Thaers. Since our hotel was just around the corner and it was too late to make an online reservation, we simply tried our luck there. The garden and the dining room were almost full because there were many shooters there. Even though the service staff had their hands full, we were welcomed immediately and they found a place for us and immediately took our drink order and brought us the menu. And now to the essentials: the Thaers beer is drinkable and delicious. The food fits the concept and was so delicious that we booked another table for the next day. So you can summarize: clear recommendation!

We ate there twice during our weekend vacation. We really enjoyed it there and were thrilled by the tasty food.

Wenn die Gattin des Wirts, Frau Leipholz, bedient, geschehen unvorstellbare Dinge. Kein freundliches, sondern eher ein genervtes Gesicht. Fast keine Nachfrage, ob noch ein Getränkewunsch besteht. Auf meine Nachfrage draußen, ob wir einen Aschenbecher bekommen könnten, wurde ich auf die Kommode im Eingangsbereich hingewiesen. „In der untersten sind welche. Können Sie sich rausnehmen.“ Wir saßen nach einem Regenschauer draußen und mein Kollege wurde ganz zackig darauf hingewiesen, dass draußen keine Bedienung stattfinde. Das sind alles Erlebnisse, wie in einem schlechten Film. Offensichtlich besteht kein großes Interesse an Umsatz, bzw. Gewinn. Warum auch. Die Stadt Celle haftet für alle Verluste. Es ist alles so unglaublich und traurig.

It was a good lunch for 5 yesterday. Top online reservation, all conditions for guests with wheelchairs were in place - that couldn't be better! Ambience good - food good - service good, what more could you want!

I visited the inn on June 19, 2024 with the Polster and Pohl travel agency and the bus day trip, with over 45 guests. Everything was well organized, short waiting times, quick and very nice staff. The food was delicious, tasty, served decoratively, just good. Thanks to the team for the good hospitality, I wish you many more satisfied guests and wish the team all the best.

Very quaint restaurant with a large beer garden in front of the door. The potato pizza is an exciting idea, but tasted a bit boring. The potato base needs more spices. The price is rather high. Especially recommended when the weather is nice. 👍

Food was satisfying. Celler Rolade was good. The currywurst was very bland and nothing special while the potato chips were very good. Therefore satisfactory. I find the place quaint and cozy. A bit loud due to the large room.

Wir waren nach einer Radtour von Hannover mit 6 Männern im Wirtshaus zum Fußball gucken eingekehrt. Nettes Ambiente, super nette Kellnerin und tendenziell auch lecker, Aber das Preis Leistungsverhältnis passt leider überhaupt nicht. 7 Stangen Spargel und ein Portmonee großes Schnitzel für über 30€, der doppelte Espresso für 4,80€, weiß nicht ob das so richtig ist.

Wir haben innerhalb einer Gruppenreise das Thaers besucht. Zunächst sei positiv hervorgehoben, dass man uns für die 11er Gruppe einen schönen separaten Raum gegeben hat. Der Service war sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und schnell. Das Essen war sehr gut. Ich habe die Kartoffelpizza getestet. Andere Teilnehmer die leckeren Flammkuchen, die Wildschweinbratwurst und die Brotzeit.

Very good food and nice service

For our last day in Celle, my boyfriend and I decided to eat at this restaurant and we had the most amazing night! The service was fantastic and the food was really tasty (I really loved the potato salad!). Aside from the food I have to give a lot of credit to the servers. They treated us with a lot of kindness and even gave us a tip to try the hamburger next time we are there. Sadly it was our last night there but when we come back I will definitely try the burger!

Wir haben das Restaurant beim vorbei gehen und es hat uns auf Anhieb gefallen. Daher haben wir uns auf die Terrasse gesetzt. Der Flammkuchen griechische Art war riesig und sehr lecker. Die Celler Bratwurst mit Kraut und Kartoffelstampf war sehr lecker . Preislich auch sehr empfehlenswert. Der Service war sehr freundlich und schnell.

We were excited to go to the inn for dinner yesterday early in the evening and were not disappointed! Warm and attentive service, great ambience and, last but not least, delicious food (Wiener schnitzel, potato salad and mixed salad with delicious dressing - small deduction for the veal schnitzel, it could have been crispy). This should be expected given the ambitious pricing. Still a clear recommendation!

We happened to be in Celle, came across this beautiful inn while strolling through the city and spontaneously stopped in. The service was very friendly and attentive, and the dog was also taken care of straight away. The menu is varied, there is also a lunch option, which is a bit cheaper, which we liked. The food was very tasty, the Berlin liver was tender, the baked potato was well filled, only the pointed cabbage with the catfish had unfortunately already cooled down, but we still enjoyed it.

It's a nice, upscale inn with good food and service

It was my first time eating here and the building is impressive from the outside. Inside there is a mix of modern and rustic, which I also really liked. Then I ordered the veal liver and the classic “Berliner style”. After a short wait I received a modern plate and the liver was tender as butter with fried onions, apple wedges and mashed potatoes with a good demi/jus (sauce). It was very tasty and I plan to visit this restaurant again while I'm still in Celle. Also very nice and attentive waitresses and waiters.

On the way to Hamburg we stopped briefly in Celle and ended up at Thaers Wirtshaus for lunch. Down-to-earth cuisine, good value for money.

I was there recently, spontaneously, with a friend. We were warmly welcomed or greeted. All the service staff were always friendly, smiling, looked happy and the one responsible for us was also attentive, but I have experienced slightly better service in other, roughly equivalent restaurants/taverns, hence only 4*. The food was top and fresh for my taste. The currywurst - especially the sauce, which many people praise highly, was not my taste, but everyone's taste is different and it wasn't bad. The wild boar bratwurst, on the other hand, was very tasty and very intense, and the obviously homemade beet mash was also excellent. As a starter, the beetroot with delicious goat cheese was good/okay, I was hoping for a little more from the beetroot, but I wasn't disappointed. Price-performance ratio is okay, I would come back and recommend the house to others. My "biggest problem" was the "ambience", although the seating/table setting wasn't to my taste, as everything (in the front area) was rather narrow. But it could also be due to the tavern style.

You can comfortably spend the evening here.

Starter 5 stars. Main course 3 stars unfortunately was very dry (steak). After eating there is no question as to whether you were satisfied. The restaurant was busy, perhaps correspondingly stressful. Since I feel very comfortable there, I'll still come back and eat something different.

Although we want to go to Celle, today was our first visit to Thaers. Service, quick and friendly. The food didn't take long and everything was according to our expectations. The prices alone are borderline, but still tolerable for what you get. You have to like the atmosphere, it has a bit of an indoor feel, it's drafty in some places and if you come on the weekend and don't like football, you might feel uncomfortable. But overall recommended.
