Thaers Wirtshaus in Celle

Ich bin dort im zuge des Schützenfestes in Celle eingekehrt. Das Essen habe ich auf ein Stern reduziert, weil ich dort nichts gegessen habe. Das Personal ist sehr nett und die Bestellungen kommen schnell. Ich kann das Wirtshaus nur empfehlen

Pilzsauße war lecker, aber Fleisch trocken gebraten, Bratkartoffeln schwammen in Öl und null knusprig, Salat wurde vergessen und erst auf Nachfrage gebracht. Lange Wartezeiten. Portionen waren auch nicht so groß für den gehobenen Preis. Insgesamt waren auch die anderen Gäste unserer Gruppe nicht überzeugt, einzig die rohe Roulade wusste zu überzeugen. Allerdings auch dort war der Salat ein Fertigprodukt. Die Kartoffelpizza hatte eine Größe für eine Vorspeise. Wartezeit war sehr lange. Insgesamt passt hier Preis-Leistung garnicht.

Die Vorspeise, eine gemischte Fleisch- und Käseplatte, entsprach nicht der Beschreibung und den Fotos. Das Brot war sehr trocken. Auf meine Beschwerde wurde nichts unternommen. Das Hauptgericht war in Ordnung, nichts Besonderes. Wir waren dort, weil wir ein Trinkgeld bekommen hatten, sind aber sehr enttäuscht. Außerdem ist es für das Gebotene überteuert.

Ich schreibe diese Rezension ausschließlich, weil ich den Umgang mit den Mitarbeitenden an diesem Abend wirklich bedenklich fand. Wir haben erlebt, wie ein Mann, offenbar in leitender Funktion, sehr respektlos mit seinem jungen Team gesprochen und die Mitarbeitenden regelrecht herumkommandiert hat. Der Ton war absolut herablassend und für alle unangenehm mit anzusehen. Gerade in stressigen Situationen zeigt sich, wie Führung tatsächlich gelebt wird.

Ein schönes Lokal, drinnen wie auch draußen. Speisen und Getränke haben eine gute Auswahl und lecker. Speise sind allerdings sehr gehoben.

Gehen seit vielen Jahren hier essen und wurden noch nicht ein einziges Mal enttäuscht. Wir können dieses Restaurant nur wärmstens empfehlen. Gleichbleibend gute Qualität und ein sehr leckeres Bier.

Sehr nette Bedienung und tolles Essen. Die Bratkartoffeln sind perfekt.

Wir waren dort essen und sind einfach nur enttäuscht. Das Schnitzel war voller Fussel bzw. Haare – absolut ekelhaft. Das Essen ging sofort zurück, aber statt einer vernünftigen Lösung wurde uns nur angeboten, das Schnitzel von der Rechnung zu nehmen und einen Kaffee aufs Haus zu geben. Eine Alternative zum Essen wurde uns nicht einmal angeboten. Beim Bezahlen dann der nächste Schock: Es wurde trotzdem alles berechnet, sogar der Kaffee, der angeblich aufs Haus gehen sollte. So ein unhygienischer und unprofessioneller Umgang geht gar nicht. Wir waren eigentlich Stammkunden, aber nach dieser Erfahrung definitiv nie wieder. Können wir absolut nicht weiterempfehlen.

Wir waren an einem Samstag in Celle und haben im Wirtshaus gefragt ob ein Tisch frei ist. Darauf hin wurde uns nett gesagt drinnen leider nicht aber gern draußen. Als wir meinten es sind nur links und rechts die längeren Bänke frei auf denen überall reserviert steht, wurde uns gesagt das wir uns dort gerne hinsetzen können. Das haben wir auch getan. Nach 15 Minuten ignorieren des Personals hat eine Mitarbeiteren über 5 Tische zu uns rübergekeift (ich übertreibe nicht). Das wir da nicht sitzen dürfen und was das denn soll (…). Wir haben dann nett die Situation erklärt. Daraufhin keifte sie weiter und meinte welche Kollegin das denn gewesen sein soll die uns angeblich gesagt hat wir könnten uns dahinsetzen… Wir sind dann gegangen. Eine super unangenehme Situation. Sie hätte ja einfach zu uns kommen können und freundlich sagen können das heute diese Tische nicht bedient werden können. Wir wären die letzten die das nicht verstanden hätten. Es war uns super peinlich auch den anderen Gästen gegenüber wie wir behandelt wurden. Als wir 1 Std. später dort wieder langgegangen sind waren dann mehrere Tische von den längeren Bänken besetzt. Nicht von Gruppen sondern jeweils von 2-4 Personen. Da waren wir dann richtig sprachlos. Wir kamen uns lange nicht mehr so veräppelt vor wie an diesem Abend.

Sehr aufmerksamer Service, Speisen waren sehr lecker

Essen hat uns leider nicht beeindruckt. Das Cordon Blue wurde lange warm gehalten, daher schon eine sehr krustige, teilweise schon angebrannte schwarze Panade. Der Burger ziemlich ungewürzt. Wir mussten gestern Abend 1:20h auf unser Essen, trotz durchschnittlicher Auslastung, auf unser Essen warten. Die Lage ist ungünstig direkt an der Straße. Das Ambiente im Innenbereich mehr Sportsbar als Wirtshaus. Der Service war unfassbar freundlich und nett. 🫶🏻 Darum gerade noch 3 Sterne Schade.

Leckeres Schnitzel zu einem guten Preis und gutes Bier.

Wenn auch etwas längere Wartezeiten und nicht unbedingt ein sehr aufmerksamer Service,- aber das Essen,- in unserem Fall: Zwiebelsuppe, Wiener Schnitzel, Kabeljaufilet, Crème brûlée- war einfach großartig! Ein großes Lob an den Koch / die Küche! Sehr gerne wieder…!

Sehr viel vorgestelt aber war am Ende ein reinfall

Gestern zum Abschluss unseres Celle Urlaubs gingen wir spontan allerdings mit vorheriger Anmeldung ins Thaers . Eigentlich war der Plan das wir an unserem letzten Abend in die Bierakademie gehen wollten. Gottseidank haben wir da keinen Tisch mehr bekommen und mussten deswegen ausweichen. Es war ein super gemütlicher Abend , ich hatte die Celler Spezialität rohe Roulade mit Bratkartoffeln Mega lecker besser als jedes Carpacchio meine Frau hatte die Schweinelendchen in Pilzsoße, Grilltomate und ebenfalls Bratkartoffeln. Super lecker die Portion genau richtig und Preisleistungsverhältnis absolut gerechtfertigt. Auch die Desserts der Hammer sehr lecker die Creme Bruleé genial. Die Küche und der Service wissen was gute Gastronomie ist und können es perfekt umsetzen. Vielen Dank für den über aus gelungenen Abend. Können wir nur jedem weiter empfehlen.

Hier kann man die traditionelle Celle-Roulade probieren, die mir sehr gut geschmeckt hat. Allerdings ist sie nicht für jeden geeignet, da sie aus rohem Fleisch besteht. Ein schönes Lokal in der Nähe der Burg und des Stadtzentrums. Parkplätze sind ausreichend vorhanden. Ideal für offizielle Geschäftstreffen und Familienfeiern. Reservierungen für größere Gruppen sind problemlos möglich, aber auch für 2-3 Personen ohne Reservierung. Nicht ganz billig, aber immerhin mitten in der Stadt!

Wir waren mit 7 Personen zum Geburtstag eingeladen. Das Essen war sehr gut, es wurde auf Wünsche eingegangen, das Ambiente top, alles hat gepasst. Die Mitarbeiter super nett. Kommen gerne wieder.

Das Abendessen war gut und der Service freundlich. Das Ambiente ist modern und definitiv nicht heimelig. Man rechnet damit, dass jederzeit ein Fussballspiel angepfiffen wird.

Thaers in Celle – immer wieder ein Volltreffer! 🍗🥔 Mal wieder im Thaers in Celle gewesen und wie immer top! 😊 Die Bedienung war nett, schnell und total auf Zack – da wartet man nicht lange. Das Essen hat uns richtig überzeugt: Der Coq au Vin vom Huhn war erstklassig – saftig, würzig, mit der perfekten Sauce, einfach ein Traum. Auch die Ofenkartoffel war lecker, aber ein kleiner Salat als Option dazu wäre noch der Hammer (vielleicht mal anregen 😉). Kurz gesagt: Gutes, ehrliches Essen in entspannter Atmosphäre – genau das, was man sich wünscht. Schön, angenehm, modern, und das Essen ist wirklich gut. Ein perfekter Ort, um Sport zu schauen oder sich mit Freunden zu treffen. Jeder findet hier ein ruhiges Plätzchen. Man kann einen leckeren Hamburger oder etwas Ausgefalleneres bestellen. Die Preise sind angemessen. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Super Essen und super freundliche Bedienung Muss man hingegen, wenn man in Celle ist.

Restaurant sehr schön. Essen deutlich über teuert. Wiener Schnitzel für fast 28€ war den Preis nicht Wert,Pommes schmeckte nach alten Fett ob es wirklich Kalbsfleisch war kann man nicht sagen. Flammkuchen für 15€ auch überteuert. Restaurant nicht zu empfehlen.

Celler Rohe Rouladen stehen auch auf der Speisekarte.

Wir waren mit 10 Leuten essen und haben den Weihnachtsmarkt in Celle besucht. Es war angenehm leer und leise. Das Essen kam schnell aber war für den Preis etwas zu kleine Portionen. Das Wiener Schnitzel zum Beispiel kostet 26€. Das ist zu teuer. Lustig sind die Haken für die Jacken. Das sind nämlich Zapfhähne.

Thaers is a traditional inn with a diverse menu of German dishes. Everything is freshly prepared, and smaller portions are also available—just ask. The service is very attentive, and you'll be treated with care. Since the restaurant is popular, reservations are recommended.

The food and service are excellent.

We got a table at short notice without a reservation, and the food was very delicious.

We always enjoy coming back. The round table with the rotating bench is especially nice for groups.

Delicious burger, friendly service. On a subsequent visit, I had a tasty cordon bleu from the Duke of Berkshire. Always worth a visit!

Absolutely delicious food! The coc au vin was culinary poetry! The staff was incredibly friendly. The restrooms were a bit of a walk, but clean. The ambiance was very appealing. The atmosphere was fantastic. The price-performance ratio was perfectly fine.

We tried their Celle roulade and some pork specialty from the house. The house beer was really good. We booked a table in advance and glad we did because at lunch time it was full. We waited half an hour for our food but because the place was packed. Really great service. It just was a bit loud for us and it doesn’t have a cozy atmosphere.

Eating a raw roulade for the first time. It was fantastic. My wife had fried zander with a fantastic sauce. Both dishes were served with fried potatoes that you'd want to swim in—so delicious! Update: We were there again, and it was delicious again. The food was delicious, the service staff was very friendly, and you can sit comfortably both inside and outside.

A very good restaurant in Celle. We ate there as a couple during the week and were very impressed by the food and the friendly service. Highly recommended!

You have to wait a long time for the food but it is indicated beforehand but nice atmosphere

The food is honest, but nothing special. The reduced portion sizes compared to February are shocking, and unfortunately, they're a bit overpriced. The atmosphere is nice, though. It's worth a try.

The food is a culinary delight, the service is superb and attentive, the location is fantastic, and so is the ambiance. The chefs who are currently working there and who are generally there should always be praised. The price/performance ratio is high, but completely justified. Greetings from Celle.

We ate here on our city trip to Celle and sat outside. Very friendly service! We had Obazden (traditional pork sausage) with bread for starters, followed by the raw roulades and herring with fried potatoes. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to have dessert because the portions were large. We highly recommend Thaers Wirttshaus!

We made a reservation and were only able to get a table at the counter. The service was very good and quick. The food was very tasty and the portions were generous. Everything was reasonably priced. The ambiance is very nice, and the beer garden is also large and well-attended.

Went for dinner with a former colleague. The drinks and food were very good, as was the service.

This was literally one of the worst meals I have ever had. It is called “Sauerfleisch”, which is apparently cold meat in jello. I asked what it was when I ordered and this was not how it was described, or I would have ran fast. Service and atmosphere were fine, but even though my meal went back untouched I was asked to pay the full price. Just please describe on your menu what you can expect, it’s not that hard. For what it’s worth: several employees said they absolutely hate the dish too.

A highly recommended restaurant with delicious food. A popular destination, so reservations are recommended. Very friendly service, they really looked after us (two people), and were easily seated again because the reserved table was in the sun. Terrace seating is available. Totally acceptable value for money.

The staff was a bit unfriendly. Due to understaffing. I wanted to take the rest of the food with me... We're reluctant to comment... But they packed up the rest of the raw roulade for me... We'll go back to the restaurant anyway...

The food tasted really good – the roulade in particular was excellently prepared. But unfortunately, good taste alone isn't enough to leave a positive overall experience. The menu clearly lists the "Lion's Meal" as including caraway bread. I ordered fried potatoes as an extra. However, only the roulade was served with fried potatoes – the caraway bread was missing. When I asked about this, I received the irritating reply that the bread wasn't part of the fried potatoes. However, this isn't stated on the menu – there, the bread is clearly listed as an integral part of the meal. I find it disappointing when, as a guest, you have to point out such obvious errors. That's the responsibility of the restaurant – not the paying guest. Unfortunately, no compensation was offered, even though the service was objectively incomplete. Conclusion: Despite the good food, I can only give this restaurant two stars. Anyone who serves less than they sell – and then reacts rudely – has a lot of catching up to do in terms of customer service. This is not how you should treat guests in the restaurant industry.

We stopped at this restaurant during our city tour. The food was good. The service was a bit slow; there was only one server to take care of the entire restaurant that day, but was very nice and professional. They made an effort to communicate with us in English, and brought us menus in English and partially in German, which is very appreciated.

Mycket trevligt ställe med öl och mat. Vi drack öl och ville ha pommes till vilket gick alldeles utmärkt. En rejäl skål med majonnäs och en med ketchup serverades till. Två små öl och en stor portion pommes för 10:60€

We took a short break in Celle. We went there for drinks on the first evening. It was a fantastic evening. The staff were very friendly and entertaining. We enjoyed it so much that we reserved a table for the next evening. The food there was very good. We had a great time that evening as well. We would like to thank the team very much for everything. I'm sure the Thears Inn is a great place to stay. Unfortunately, we happened to be there on the exact day that everything that could go wrong went wrong...so everyone has to make their own judgment.

It's very nice there! We were there with a larger group and had made a reservation; they have a separate room for this. The restaurant area looks nice too. Super attentive and friendly service, and a varied and exciting menu. I'll have to come back at least three more times :-)

We were just about to have dinner together. We asked a very friendly young man if we could sit outside on the benches. Of course, we were allowed to. We got our menus and had already chosen our food. Suddenly, an older employee came over and arrogantly told us that no one was allowed to sit there. When we pointed out that his colleague had allowed us to do so, he retorted, annoyed, that he must have been mistaken and walked away, gesticulating... We then got up and left; such antisocial behavior is simply primitive. Goodbye forever!

You should pay attention to the name of the place, as it's a good description. I didn't feel like I was sitting in a cozy restaurant, but rather in a pub. The decor is nothing special, but okay. The service staff was very nice, but unfortunately, orders were forgotten at the end. Hence only 4 stars. The food on the menu was varied and included dishes you wouldn't necessarily find in other restaurants. However, the quality was only mediocre for me. Not bad, but there was no wow factor either.

We like to be here every now and then. Everything is the finest, and the taste is also a delight. Unfortunately, some portions are quite "clear"... I would like more vegetables with the Riesling chicken. Taste wise 7 stars 😉💚
