Tex-Mex in Berlin

A very cozy little restaurant with extremely nice service and really good food. We had spare ribs, quesadillas and burrito and it was all delicious.

Right next to Friedrichstraße train station. We stumbled upon it quite by chance. The food was delicious, the prices were perfectly reasonable, and we even had a pleasant, relaxed conversation with the owner. Our conclusion after our visit is that we'd gladly eat at this Tex-Mex restaurant again.

The store looked like any other shabby beer bar in an alley in front of a station. The kitchen owner is just a friendly German guy and it's a local pub. Up until this point, I had no expectations. First, I asked the owner to give me two glasses of Dunkel beer, so I sat down and ordered medium-rare steak, fried button mushrooms, and chicken wings, and he brought me jussum jussum sauce. There are two types of Tabasco: green and red. It came to me when I was halfway through my beer, thinking, “Oh, this place is so basic.” Fried button mushrooms. The mushrooms in this house are going crazy. I ate it hungrily, mumbling about why it was so delicious about 10 times. It looks like it's fried in schnitzel powder...it's nothing special, but it's so delicious. Order fried button mushrooms, everyone.

We came here by chance and after Google reviews and were completely satisfied and thrilled! The owner and the waitresses are all very friendly, accommodating and personable! Good conversations are inevitable 😁 If you want to feel good, you should definitely come here, even just for a drink 🥰 We sat close to the bar and were able to watch the food being prepared, a lot of care and love goes into every dish 😊 and the grill was in immaculate, very clean condition! The preparation went very quickly, the two of us ordered three main courses (enchilada beef, quesadilla beef and bacon burger with fries), two drinks and two cocktails and paid a total of less than €75, which is really very cheap in my opinion. If you want to come with children, I would recommend sharing your own dish because the portions are really big :D so everyone will definitely be full! I also had a mojito and can warmly recommend it! It's not the last time we've been here 😊

Don't let the name fool you. Very stable Mexican home cooking at fair prices. The atmosphere is very cozy and the employees at TexMex are all super nice.

Incredibly delicious food, super good cocktail prices l, there were 4 of us and we ordered a pitcher which was easily enough. The atmosphere directly at Friedrichstrasse train station also has its own vibe. And the waitresses were incredibly nice too. Just great

Been there by chance. A small restaurant with very nice service. You were in direct conversation with the owner. Easen great, inexpensive and we were served very nicely and courteously. The food was also very good and everything was perfect. Highly recommended.

Rather inconspicuous from the outside, there is a really pleasant gem hidden inside. Few places, but it is all the more pleasant. I happened to be passing by and spontaneously decided to eat there and while away some time. I didn't expect much, but I got even more: starting with really nice and courteous staff, plus a surprisingly large selection of food and drinks. High quality, freshly cooked and served quickly. The portions are relatively generous and definitely worth the price. Contrary to reviews online, you can also pay by card. I also experienced a mixed audience, everything relaxed and informal. A bit of an insider tip for me, as it really didn't give the same impression from the outside that I got from the inside - I will definitely come back and recommend it to others without hesitation.

Absolutely a big mistake. This is no Mexican food. Almost 17 euros for 3 tacos with no taste and no sauce…never again.

Massive portions, super nice staff, and the atmosphere on Xmas day eve was lovely, the place was full and cozy at 830pm. Maybe cocktails a little pricey, but if you don't like that then have a beer. Very recommended.

Good food and atmosphere, but really bad service. I asked if they can recommend something, he said he don’t know. I asked if I can order half portion of the fried mushrooms with half price, he said yes, but later charge me with the full price. Feel sad a good restaurant got ruined by the bad quality of service and this bad German attitude.

Small family run place with almost-texmex dishes, certainly worth a visit for the atmosphere and the home made food. OK, yes, it could be better, "hot" is only hot for Germans, and there's a heavy germanised influence on the mainly meat-based menu, but the margaritas are strong, the staff are nice, the prices are OK, and it's not some franchise from a corporation.

There are vegetarian dishes, I really liked my dish.

It's not Mex, Tex or Tex Mex. Shame and false advertising! When you see Tex Mex and people only talk about their burgers, you know something is incredibly wrong. The rice in the enchiladas was plain white, the meat had some German "Mexican" seasoning from Penny probably. It came with some kind of German mayo and lettuce salad... Not salsa and lettuce, not guac and lettuce, just plain old German salad. The nachos are not nachos, they are tortilla chips. Someone needs to explain to Germans that just a little melted cheese on top doesn't make it nachos. There was no salsa or spice anywhere to be seen, no life, no point. Tex Mex should mean a punch in the mouth with flavor, huge portions, and frozen margaritas... This was sad.

Best Mexican in town. We have eaten there several times and have always been impressed. Great value for money, although the portions cost a little more, you are more than full. Some dishes are also suitable for vegetarians. We'd love to come back

Not the most authentic tacos I have had. Also I asked the waitress if I can take one taco as take away, and when they served, I saw one Taco has the sauce, one has the meat, and one has the salad. So it was not possible to eat half of the dish :)

Tex-Mex offers a cozy yet lively atmosphere with a menu full of flavorful favorites like sizzling fajitas and hearty burritos. I had the Mexican steak which was excellent. Generous portions and excellent drink selection is a stand out. Service is friendly, though occasionally slow during peak hours. Perfect for casual dining and festive gatherings.

Absolutely loved it. Stopped in spontaneously and were anything but disappointed. Not only were the steaks very inexpensive due to their happy hour, they also tasted great and the Margherita pitcher was also first class. There's nothing to complain about the service, they were super friendly and chilled and everything we ordered was at the table in no time. If I lived in Berlin, this would be my new local bar. Great!

Unfortunately there aren't many Mexicans in Berlin (besides the chains). So I'm always happy to catch one. And it’s super tasty here too! The prices are of course based on Friedrichstrasse prices. But the plate is full. And as I said, really tasty. I'd love to come back

Food quality is very very bad. The service is fast and people are nice but I couldn't finish what I was eating. I ordered an enchilada with Rindfleisch and the meat was poor quality, just mixed with rice, no sauce. The flavor was strange. Also we sit next to the street and on top there are train tracks and it's very noisy.

The steak 400gr was great. Unfortunately, the dip already had some skin on it, but that wasn't really important. Nevertheless, unreservedly recommended. Addition after many years, still as good as before. Nothing to complain about.

During our last vacation, we were looking for a place to have dinner when we stumbled upon a Mexican restaurant. We were a little surprised that no one spoke Spanish; It's like entering a cider house and they don't know how to say "puxa". But, since they were very kind, we decided to stay. The first detail that we liked was that they brought us a letter in Spanish. Point for them! Mexican food, however, was a bit peculiar. The tacos and enchiladas had rice, something we had never tried, as if someone had decided to make a fusion between Mexico and the menu of an Asturian chigre. But we have to admit that the food was delicious. We ordered some chicken wings. We didn't know they were typical in Mexico, but hey, we were in for a good surprise; They were delicious. The margaritas, yes, had less alcohol than a nun's party, but they were very tasty anyway. In short, it is a good option if you are in the area and don't mind that the "Mexican" is more of a free version. Of course, they could improve the atmosphere with some Mexican music or something like that, because the place was duller than a cloudy day in the Asturian mountains with no view of the horizon.

Was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the food! Nachos and quesadilla were great. Ribs weren’t meaty enough but what was on it tasted good. Outdoor area was quite noisy with trains etc

Very solid steak and fine enchiladas with delicious guacamole, frozen margarita was great and Duckstein on tap anyway. Service was great, attentive, quick and always with a smile. Have passed by here many times and will definitely go in more often now.

Absolutely recommended, the price-quantity ratio is correct, the dishes are good and served quickly, super nice and helpful staff, they offered us a copy of the menu in Italian, helping us with the choice. We were also served free Mexican hot sauces and wet hand wipes. I ordered a chicken enchilada, served a huge plate with a side of salad and guacamole, spending around €16, if I had to make just one small note, with typical Mexican dishes, and therefore spicy, a 0.25ml water €3 made me enjoy the meal less... but otherwise very good!

The fried mushrooms here are a must. However, the portion size has decreased significantly compared to before. Steak is also highly recommended!! If you ask for spicy sauce, they will give it to you haha.

I can't rate the food, but what I saw on the other guests' plates looked very good. And the prices are absolutely OK. The atmosphere is rustic but very appropriate and cool. The service is super nice - there's no other way to say that. Go in and take a look.

The food and drink was decent and tasty. The service was quick and attentive. An unpleasant smell occasionally came from the nearby bridge outside. For only cash payment and no invoice the price was quite high.

My colleague and I had dinner here today. The young man with a cap was very friendly, funny and attentive, he even noticed the flies in my beer and changed it. The food was inexpensive for Friedrichstrasse and very tasty. My recommendation are the nachos with shrimp. We ate outside with blankets. Very pleasant. Maybe next time more choice of 🍸 would be the cherry on the cake. Come again. Thank you very much 👍

Between the appointment at the train station and over to the Berliner Ensemble, it's the perfect hangout. Chilled audience. And you can meet other people from Hanover, haha. No special view, just great to wait for someone in a relaxed manner. Really good chili with diced meat and not just minced meat. Delicious beer. A host who, after decades of gastronomy, still wants to chat with the guests.🥰 Thank you👍 That something like this still exists. Definitely coming back. Everyone else in service was also very accommodating.

So we had two burgers and they were the two worst we've eaten so far. The buns are not typical for burgers but okay. The “meat” felt like rubber in the mouth and lacked any proper seasoning or good taste, not even the sauce could save it. We thought burgers weren't bad. We were definitely taught better, and all of this at a relatively high price of €14.50.

Found the place when looking for restaurants this is a 5 star I would walk past this place but after stopping the food and service is more than 100% very big portions food was lovely cash only when we were hear give it a go

Very cool spot we just happened to find. The whole street was poppin that night, found Tex-Mex and had a great meal. I got the chicken quesadilla (for being so far from Mexico, they came pretty close) and my brother got a steak and baked potato. Sat outside on the terrace and was a pleasant environment for eating and people watching in Berlin.

I was lured into the store by chance. My nephew and I were very impressed by the quality and service. The steak 🥩 we ordered was very satisfactory. Maredo from Charlottenstraße can't hold a candle to you. My nephew would like to come back and unfortunately I live too far away. It's difficult to find good shoes that fit our size. It was an honor for me.

30 years ago I was stationed in Texas. As a result, my expectations were high. Since my memory of the names of the dishes was rusty, I asked the friendly waitress to help me. I chose chicken enchiladas 🍗 and was not disappointed. They were just as spicy🌶️ without overpowering the taste of the other ingredients or the melted cheese🧀. If that's not spicy enough for you, you can spice up your meal with 3 different pepper sauces. By chance 3 guests came who were probably Mexican. The waitress actually spoke a little Spanish to them. So my impression was even better. 2nd visit, order the mini steak 🥩 from the daily menu for 14.50. Medium ordered and received. Nice meat juice also came out. Rounded off with fries and a mini salad it would have been worth a good €5 more
