Taverne Troja Griechische Spezialitäten mit Abhol Service in Schifferstadt

As guests in Schifferstadt, we wanted Greek food. This Greek restaurant was the right choice. The food was very, very good. I had the Helena plate, and the meat was superb. Juicy, tender, and hearty. It exceeded my expectations, and I haven't had such good Greek food in a long time. The service was very good, friendly, and unobtrusive.

I can't understand all the good reviews and wonder if the reviewers haven't been to a good Greek restaurant before visiting here. We did order online, but we know from our own experience that it shouldn't automatically be colder/worse, etc. We ordered at 6 p.m. for 8 p.m., and it was delivered almost half an hour later. My partner and I ordered the "lamb crown," a stuffed bifteki, and the feta cheese as an appetizer. The feta cheese was overstuffed with olives and tasted like olives. The portion was simply dismal for just under €13. The bifteki was okay, the dressing on the side salads tasted like nothing at all, and the "lamb crown," for almost €30, was a complete disgrace, see photo. On top of that, there was a lot of fat on the lamb. It's possible that the food would have been more appetizingly presented in the store and definitely hot instead of lukewarm to cold, but that was a waste of €65. You know that feeling when fries are so soggy that they get stuck in your throat and it hurts even when you gulp them down? Unfortunately, that's exactly what I had here. All in all, we would never order from here again. - Addendum from September 23, 2025 I've already noticed that this place makes excuses for all its customers, but now to make such a claim just because they can't handle the criticism is even more outrageous than the rest. Attached, of course, is the order confirmation that a crown of lamb was ordered. This place should definitely be avoided.

I'd like to give it 0 stars. Very small portions, my order arrived an hour late, the food was already cold, and no one answered the phone. Very annoying 😡

We were here for the first time today. The food was very good. I was pleasantly surprised to find vegetarian dishes in a Greek restaurant. The ambiance is pleasant, and the service was attentive and courteous.

Yesterday, I stopped by your restaurant as a traveler pressed for time and actually just wanted to use the restroom. Since I only had 15 minutes to catch my train, I was unfortunately unable to dine there and enjoy your wonderful ambiance. However, you were very accommodating and extremely friendly to me, which I truly appreciate. In less than 5 minutes, you conjured up an indescribably delicious and lovingly prepared gyro plate - to go. I have to say, it was by far the best gyro I've ever eaten! Thank you again for your friendly and welcoming manner. I can recommend this to anyone who enjoys Greek food! 🙏🏼 Best regards from an unknown guest who would love to stop by again soon. ✌🏼

Delicious food Reasonably priced Friendly service

Today, we were a guest thanks to the mobile Schlemmerblock (a German restaurant). From the welcome to the farewell, including a free ouzo or espresso, everything was fantastic. The waiter/barman did a fantastic job. The appetizer, main course, and drinks were all excellent. The meat was juicy and tender. Everything was piping hot, and the drinks were cold. In summary: We'll be back and were delighted to receive consistently good service despite the name Schlemmerblock. That's not always the case!

This review refers to a delivery via a major online service. Overall, we were disappointed: The food arrived 30 minutes late and was lukewarm at best. One of the two dishes came with the wrong side (fries instead of rice). We had two Paris plates for €22 each, and in our opinion, they weren't worth it. The tender pork steak was quite tough, the souvlaki came with three really tiny pieces, and the salad consisted mostly of leaf lettuce. The gyro, which was also available, was okay. We won't order from here again.

The dishes weren't big enough, but they were still very tasty.

My partner and I went there for the first time today. The atmosphere is inviting and the staff very friendly. The portions are large and the prices are reasonable. Everything tasted very good, and we will definitely come back. The music was a little too loud for our taste, but not disturbing.

We enjoyed visiting Troy often, but now for the last time. I ordered a portion of gyros with salad, see pictures. The salad was absolutely fine for a starter, there's nothing to complain about. However, I was very disappointed with the meat this time! The meat wasn't completely seared, and it tasted kind of moist and not crispy like you're used to with gyros. It felt like a whole net of onions was prepared on top so that it looked like more, but the amount of tzatziki was only a tablespoon full. The rice tastes like nothing at all, I tried a maximum of 4-5% of it and complained about it to the waitress. She immediately took my plate and disappeared with it. When I asked another waitress after half an hour what was going on with my rice, he said he didn't know anything about it and he didn't work in the kitchen either. When I asked him if I should go into the kitchen for him, he said something to me in Greek and walked away and mumbled something in Greek again. Service is different for me, I don't go here anymore.

The food is very tasty, the staff is very nice and the portions are large. We often order take-away and also like to come to the restaurant to eat. Always my pleasure.

Friendly staff and very good service

Super delicious food. We had a plate for two and a sirloin plate. The meat was cooked to perfection, not dry but not overdone either. I've rarely had such a delicious meal. Salad and grilled pepperoni were also super tasty. Kudos to the kitchen. The service was friendly and quick. We will definitely be happy to come back

Der Inhaber ist ganz nett, nach 4 Jahren mal wieder hier gewesen, gegrillte Peperoni vorne weg, da Brot dazu war das beste vom Abend. Einmal Kalamari Ringe und Zander. Da zu gab es einen Salat der ein sehr merkwürdiges Dressing hatte,der Geschmack von einem mir unbekannten Kraut überdeckte alles. Dieses Kraut war in meinem Reis auch drin, genauso unpassend. (Ich habe schon mal an einer Prüfung zum Küchenmeister in Heidelberg Teilgenommen) ich denke ein Bischen ahnung zu haben.

Food was ok. Some things were brought to the table incorrectly. A 13-year-old was given an ouzo for dessert like the adults.

Christmas party from the shop, had chicken in Metaxa sauce, was very tasty, would be happy again.

We ate here because of the gourmet block and I have to say very good food, really nice service and a pleasant atmosphere. From now on it is our go-to place if we want to go out for a delicious Greek meal.

Wird sind über das Gutscheinbuch Schlemmerblock auf das Familien geführte Restaurant Taverne Troja gestoßen und wir waren gerade in der Nähe von Schifferstadt, was uns zur Taverne Troja brachte. Ich kann nur voller Lob sein. Das Essen war von sehr guter Qualität, sehr zart und auf den Punkt gegart. Innen Rosa und kein Blut auf dem Teller und das bei allen Fleischstücken. Ich hatte den Troja Teller (24,50 Euro) und meine Frau den Lenden Spieß mit Schafskäse überbacken (17,80 Euro). Der Troja Teller ist mit 24,50 Euro nicht wirklich günstig, dafür waren jedoch die Filet Stücke, wie schon gesagt, von sehr guter Qualität und optimal angebraten. Das rechtfertigt etwas den hohen Preis. Auch der Lenden Spieß mit Schafskäse war sehr lecker und Top zubereitet. Die Getränkepreise sind gerade noch in Ordnung, wobei die Flasche Mineralwasser 0,75L für 4,80 Euro wieder wirklich in Ordnung ist. Der Service war genauso Top wie das Essen. Sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und herzlich. Danke dafür 😃 Für alles bis aufs Ambiente kann ich extrem gute 5 Sterne vergeben. Der Gastraum ist nicht schlecht, jedoch nicht so extrem gut, wie der Service und das Essen. Hier würde ich gute 3,5 bis 4 Sterne geben. Wir werden, wenn wir wieder in der Nähe von Schifferstadt sind, das Restaurant Taverne Troja wieder aufsuchen.

Ich habe hier einen Mix Teller bestellt. Es gab Rindfleisch, Leber,Lamm Kotelett und Gyros. Das Fleisch war frisch und perfekt zart gebraten. Dazu gab es Reis der raffiniert mit Gemüse zubereitet wurde und frischen Salat der dekoriert serviert wurde. Dieser Grieche kann selbst in Hamburg mithalten. Respekt.

Tolles Essen die Fischplatte sehr lecker, leider kam der sehr freundliche Service nur einmal und fragte ob alles ok sei, was auch so war, als die Getränke leer waren kam niemand und zum Zahlen dauerte es auch ewig. Aber wir kommen wieder!

Der Biergarten ist nicht schön und auch nicht gemütlich. Das Essen ist nicht der Hit . Die Preise passen so gar nicht tu den Gerichten , aber der Service war nett .

Ein Genuss der Extraklasse! Der Lendenspieß mit Schafskäse hat meine Erwartungen übertroffen. Perfekt gegrillt, zarte Fleischqualität und der Schafskäse verleiht dem Gericht eine geschmackliche Krönung. Absolutes Spitzenessen!

Ein schöner Abend bei leckeren Essen hatten wir. Sitzplätze draussen vorhanden. Service war nicht aufdringlich, aber präsent. Parkplätze gibt es keine direkt, allerdings an der Strasse. Ouzo gab es nach dem Essen aus Haus.

Heute mit Schlemmerblock dort gegessen. Hat sehr gut geschmeckt, auch das Personal sehr aufmerksam und überaus Freundin. Waren nicht das letzte Mal dort. Fleisch wunderbar zart, Pommes mega lecker und auch große Portionen.

Nicht der einzige Grieche im Ort, dafür aus unserer Sicht der Beste.

Lange Wartezeit bis zur ersten Bestellung. Bei Nachbestellung von Tzatziki für eine gemischte Platte muss man den Vorspeisenpreis zusätzlich zahlen, Ouzo zur Rechnung offensichtlich nur für Stammgäste. Schade, man könnte mehr draus machen

Haben heute ungeplant in diesem typisch griechischen Restaurant zu Abend gegessen und ich bin, als Gastro-erfahrener, eher kritischer Gast, schier BEGEISTERT!!! So eine herzliche, gastfreundliche Atmosphäre, mit griechischer Hintergrundmusik, die einen sofort in einen kleinen Kurzurlaub entführt. Die Speisen sind qualitativ erstklassig, mein Lendenspieß zart und noch leicht rosa gegrillt, richtig heiß, wie man es sich wünscht, die Pommes innen weich und außen kross, die Kräuterbutter selbst gemacht und fein abgeschmeckt, ebenso Tsaziki und Beilagensalat. Der Helena-Teller meines Mannes war ebenso hervorragend. Nachdem wir erfuhren, dass die typisch griechischen Desserts hausgemacht sind, haben wir auch davon noch probiert. Einfach KLASSE! Zudem eine sehr aufmerksame, nette Bedienung von den Söhnen des Hauses. Preis-Leistung TOP! Wir kommen sicher wieder!

Das Essen, welches kam war super lecker. Leider war der Service so unterirdisch, dass Bestellungen falsch oder gar nicht in der Küche ankamen. Auch Besteck "musste" weitergenutzt werden, nachdem es auf den Boden gefallen war. Nie wieder! Ich hoffe, dass entweder das Personal draußen ausgetauscht wird, oder der Koch sich einen anderen Laden sucht, in den man dann wieder gehen kann.

Und wieder mal zeigt sich, es lohnt sich für ein Mittagessen von der Autobahn abzufahren. Auf der Durchreise von Kroatien in die Eifel zufällig hier gelandet. 5 Sterne für für alles. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt.

Typisches griechisches Restaurant, mit einer umfangreichen Karte an typischen Speisen und Getränken. Das Essen war OK, aber nicht umwerfend! Wir hatten 2x Gyros überbacken mit Metaxxa- Soße! Das war irgendwie nur eine sahnige Soße, mit nicht sonderlich viel Gyrosfleisch! Unsere Bedienung war ungelernt und hatte wenig Erfahrung, war aber super freundlich, engagiert und hilfsbereit.

Wir waren sehr zufrieden. Personal sehr freundlich. Essen war sehr gut und für uns auch wichtig das es heiss war. Preis Leistungsverhältnis war top.

Mit dem Service und die Qualität der Speisen waren wir zufrieden. Es hat uns nur geärgert, dass ein vorhandener Gutschein der Firma Bonago 2 Gerichte essen, nur eines zahlen als "unbekannt" und "davon weiß ich nichts" einfach so abgetan wurde. Wenn man als Inhaber bzw. Geschäftsführer etwas abschließt, sollte man auch dazu stehen.

Gutes Essen und nette Bedienung aber das Ambiente ist ein wenig veraltet mit den dunklen Fenstern und die Beleuchtung könnte auch mal ein neuen Style vertragen. Für Menschen die nicht mehr so gut sehen ist es schwer die Karte zu lesen denke ich.

Wir haben schon häufiger hier bestellt und abgeholt. Waren aber auch schon vor Ort. Der Gastraum ist etwas aus der Zeit gefallen, aber großzügige Nischen im etwas altbacken anmutenden, typisch griechischen Ambiente. Das Personal ist super freundlich und freut sich immer unsere Kinder zu sehen. Es ist bisher immer super gewesen. Das Fleisch ist von guter Qualität: Geflügel und Lamm zart, Steak saftig, tolles gegrilltes Gemüse, leckerer Calamari. Im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen griechisch angehauchten Restaurants auch nicht zu salzig. Das Salatdressing überzeugt mich nicht so richtig, nicht schlecht, aber irgendwie nichts besonderes. Für uns ist es momentan das beste griechische Restaurant in Schifferstadt. Nichts herausragendes, aber solide Küche!
