10/10 Greek, great food, fast and good service. I highly recommend it.

I regret to say that the Odysseus Tavern, which has been around for over 60 years, has declined considerably. The food is mediocre, the baguette tastes nothing (Greek white bread is usually great), the lighting above the tables is glaring, the acoustics are extremely loud, and the service was OK. Therefore, the price/performance ratio isn't right. My old friend Odysseus would be sad...😞

The Odysseus platter was streaky... the veal liver was perfect, but the gyro, and especially the skewer, were very dry... unfortunately, even the good tzatziki couldn't save it. The service, however, was friendly, quick, and courteous. The prices are reasonable.

Not centrally located, the main restaurant downstairs is very noisy, but the first floor is more pleasant! But the food is very tasty and the service is very friendly and attentive. Good value for money! Busy, reservation recommended. I'd be happy to go again. 👍👍👍

I'd like to give more stars than possible :) We were here for the first time recently, and everything was perfect. The restaurant was packed to the rafters, yet there was hardly any wait time for the food. The staff were super friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious! I'm a big eater, but I was still completely full, so the portions were great! Today we were here for the second time with four people. What can I say? A warm welcome, very attentive service, almost no wait time, and the food was perfect! Why didn't we discover this restaurant sooner? It's amazing! ❤️ We'll be back. Thank you for this.

We found this restaurant by chance. The people here are incredibly friendly, and the food is absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, the high ceilings make it quite noisy and reminiscent of a train station atmosphere, but that makes up for everything else. We'll definitely be back.

A recommendation from Google maps while looking for a Greek restaurant in the city of Kassel, which was definitely worth it. Although we went without a reservation, the staff tried and served us with a table for 2.5 hours at our disposal. The service from the staff was impeccable. The appetizers were quite delicious (halloumi salad, goat cheese with honey and homemade dolma). The main dishes were barley with vegetables, moussaka and an Olympia platte (burger souvlaki, gyro, potatoes, tzatziki) simply a joy for our palate. And of course dessert, milkshake with chocolate syrup and a scoop of ice cream, as well as a chocolate soufflé with two scoops of ice cream, simply unique. I can highly recommend the restaurant. We were very satisfied. We received a friendly welcome, and the reserved table was cleaned and re-set after the previous guests. The young waitresses were prompt, hard-working, and friendly! Even though it was busy, everyone was in a good mood... I really appreciated that!! 😁 The food was delicious and the portions were very generous. The menu has something for everyone, whether you're a little hungry or very hungry 😊! The prices are reasonable! When the service and the food are good, everything is perfect... We had a great time and we'll definitely be back!

Today was our first visit to the Odysseus Tavern, but also our first visit to Kassel. The food was delicious, and the portions were very generous for the price. The service was also excellent. We arrived without a reservation but managed to get a table despite it being a holiday. We highly recommend this restaurant. If we're ever in Kassel again, we'll definitely eat here again.

I've known the phrase "let's go to the Greek restaurant" since my earliest childhood in Kassel Kirchditmold, and it was always clear where I was going: Odysseus. A lovely, cozy, authentic atmosphere with a very nice beer garden, good food, and great, friendly service – that's what this restaurant stood for for many years, before things unfortunately took a turn for the worse. The new owner and his team were "tested" by us, found them okay, and that was it... Now, after three more visits within a short period of time, I would like to write the following: The food is great, the value for money is right – you've learned and improved a lot in two years, and the service couldn't be better! I'm very happy that we can say "let's go to the Greek restaurant" again. You're guaranteed to go home satisfied, full, and in a good mood – thanks to a great team! Especially to the two young ladies in the waiting room: friendly, natural, unobtrusive, courteous, and attentive – thumbs up!

We were very pleased with the friendly service. We didn't have a reservation, the restaurant was pretty full, but they were able to provide us with a nice table with flexible table juggling. The food was good, not outstanding, but absolutely fair considering the prices were not overpriced. Thanks to the interior design, the restaurant is not too noisy even when full, meaning romantic evenings are possible. We'd love to come back!

Got a table for Silverster at short notice, nice menu selection, very tasty food, especially the lamb and salmon for the main course but also Saganaki beforehand and cheesecake with pomegranate seeds for dessert. But the classic gyros and souvlaki are also very good, as is the tzatziki. Really delicious. Friendly and attentive service, nice atmosphere in a rustic property, all in all cozy and we'll be back.

We have known this place for over 40 years. Our son, now 57, still remembers having a delicious meal here with grandma and grandpa! Even though there have been several changes of ownership, Greek tradition is at home here! Extremely delicious! This tavern is always worth a visit! Family L.

That was disappointing. Small portions without a side salad, unimaginatively prepared and at comparatively high prices. Gyros were gristly, fries were unsalted, meat kebabs were small, fatty and unseasoned. The food was not served at the same time and the waiting time was unreasonably long. The quality has deteriorated a lot. We won't eat there anymore.

Great service. We called outside of opening hours and were called back. We reserved a table straight away for the evening and were completely thrilled.

Super nice service. Even though it was full, everything happened very quickly. I just waited a little longer for the card because I was there alone and everyone thought I was waiting for someone. But then everything happened very quickly and a thousand apologies were made. Food excellent, service excellent. A very clear recommendation. Next time I'll bring reinforcements :-)

We were there spontaneously with 7 people in the evening when the weather was good and we also got a table in the beautiful outdoor area. The service was very friendly and attentive, drinks and food came quickly and at the same time for everyone. Unfortunately, the food (starters, meat dishes and salads) was mostly disappointing. Everything was presented rather carelessly and unfortunately mostly not particularly well prepared. Almost no one finished their plate and it wasn't because of the portions. Of all things, the classics tzatziki, gyros and biftekit didn't taste good. The meat was way too fatty and not well cooked. Based on the price-performance ratio, no recommendation.

Meine Freundin und ich wollten unseren Jahrestag feiern. Aber nicht mit so schlechtem Essen. Hähnchensteak war nicht gegrillt, sondern aus der Pfanne, schwamm in Brühe, obendrauf Senf. Der Reis schwamm in Brühe und lieblos auf dem Teller. Gyros trocken, Pommes ungesalzen und Tsatsiki geschmacklos. Kein Salat, nicht mal Deko. Uns ist unerklärlich, wo die positiven Bewertungen herkommen und warum es so voll war. Die Toiletten lassen auch zu wünschen übrig. Hier werden wir definitv kein Geld mehr ausgeben.

The parking situation is difficult. The restaurant is beautifully and modernly furnished which makes you feel comfortable. The food tasted good and was of high quality, but in my opinion the portions were too small. The service was very attentive.

An einem sonnigen Freitagabend im Juni saßen wir im sehr gut besuchten Garten des Lokals. Es herrschte gute Stimmung, zu der die fleißigen Ober beitrugen, die zuvorkommend und schnell bedienten. Das Essen (gemischte Vorspeise, Gyros und Kalbsleber) war ausgezeichnet und ließ keine Wuensche offen. Eigentlich 7* für das Lokal!!!

A recommendation from Instagram that was definitely worth it. Super nice service and reaction to our reservation postponement. Our wish to be able to sit in the garden, if possible in the sun, was promptly realized. The starters were simply delicious and we have rarely eaten such good Greek food. Everything runs like clockwork. Food very tasty. I found the price to be very high, but value for money was okay. The fact that there is an ouzo on the house could have been mentioned when we ordered one separately... and were later unable to drink it for free. I had to order coleslaw separately (it's always included elsewhere)

I went to the tavern with my friends and it was really fantastic. Well suited to larger groups, or even for two. The ambience is really cozy and inviting with more modern and rustic elements. The menu includes both classic and more unusual dishes, so there is something for everyone. Everything I was able to try was super tasty, so we had to share it all with each other. 😂 The prices are completely reasonable for the service provided, so I couldn't resist ordering dessert even though I was completely full after the main course. ✌🏻 I was really impressed by the staff, they were very accommodating and handled the huge rush really well. All in all we will definitely come back!

Unfortunately the food was very fatty and the meat was not convincing. It feels like far too much oil is being used. Service was very attentive and friendly. Chairs were very uncomfortable and overall the atmosphere was rather unpleasant.

The food was ok. I took the vegetarian dish number 54 mousaka thought it would come with fries or something else, but in vain I ordered fries after my food was there. In total we had 5 meals. 1x starter which was good 1x mousaka was ok 1x gyro plate was good. 1x Gyros metaxa could have been a little better. 1x farmer's salad was also ok So unfortunately I can't call it a favorite, I'm sorry. But staff was very very polite

Went to this restaurant recently because of good reviews, but at first we were extremely annoyed by the extreme reverberation and volume. Drink prices are reasonable. Food was pretty sparse and without salad you have to buy it additionally. A menu that costs over 20 euros could include a small salad or coleslaw, but there wasn't even anything colorful like a tomato or a slice of cucumber. My Olympia platter was far too sparsely topped, the fries were also lukewarm, didn't taste particularly good and were far too few. When my wife, who usually only orders children's plates elsewhere, ordered the normal portion and she didn't find it particularly generous. I think we won't eat here again. A pity...

Very nice, committed and young team. Definitely worth a visit. There's still a bit of room for improvement in everything...but it's pretty good. Had the Bifteki with gyros and fries. Unfortunately, the gyros were a bit small and covered by the many onions. Bifteki and fries were plentiful and flavorful. We'd love to come back.

Vorab hatten wir für heute einen Tisch reserviert. Am Eingang wurde man sofort herzlich von dem Team empfangen. Diese herzliche und sympathische Art zog sich durch die gesamte Bewirtung. Hervorragender Service und hervorragendes Essen. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Immer wieder gerne. Nettes Ambiente, manchmal sehr voll, dann ist es natürlich so gemütlich, sehr nettes Personal und sehr aufmerksam. Im Sommer draußen ganz nett.

Ambiente wirkt weniger gemütlich, aber das Essen ist ganz hervorragend und der Service auch ganz ok.

Ich habe eine Gemüsepfanne mit Schafskäse gegessen, in der hauptsächlich Kartoffeln in reichlich Öl waren. Der Schafskäse lag als ungewürztes kaltes Stück einfach lieblos nebendran, sehr enttäuschend. Wir waren eine größere Gruppe und die Essen kamen so zeitgleich wie möglich.
