Great Greek restaurant. You get the feeling that the people who work there put their hearts into it. Quite small so it is advisable to reserve. Very large selection and great food. Since we were recently in Greece, my wife really wanted to know whether the moussaka tasted just as good here. She was thrilled and said it was even better than what we ate in Greece. The ambience is perhaps for everyone as the furnishings are sometimes a bit playful. But we like it and it all just fits together. We found the detailed Christmas decorations very nice. We'll definitely come back.

Restaurant is located on the Weed and in the old town of Bad Homburg. The food is typically Greek and incredibly delicious. You can watch the chef grill and sit comfortably in the restaurant to eat. The boss and all employees are very friendly. Very tasty food and nice atmosphere.

Unfortunately, from our point of view, a big disappointment. We were seated at a camping table in a 1.5 square meter alcove. Not for people who suffer from claustrophobia. When ordering food, we were put under pressure with references to larger parties that could preempt us when ordering. The atmosphere in the restaurant is more like a train station lobby than a Greek tavern. With a lot of benevolence the food can be rated as average. The Kavala plate offers a large mountain of meat - but of medium quality at best. Definitely not worth a second visit for us.

Authentic restaurant with very nice service, nice atmosphere and of course delicious food. You should just allow some time to look for a parking space. Be sure to reserve a table.

We went to the Kavala tavern for the first time today due to the many positive reviews. Unfortunately, we cannot understand the many positive reviews. The restaurant has been around for many years, which is clearly visible in the restaurant. It is very old. The starter, a mixed starter platter, was really okay - I would give 4 stars for that. However, the main course, 2 x the mixed grill plate, disappointed us. For 23.50 euros you get a huge portion of meat, which suggests that this cannot be high-quality meat. This was also reflected in the taste. My husband only ate half, I didn't even eat a third - for me it was inedible!!! The side dishes consisted of raw fries, Greek pasta and salad. We won't be coming back and can't recommend the restaurant to anyone who wants to eat with pleasure. The service was initially good, but then declined significantly over the course of the evening.

It has now been almost three weeks since I visited this restaurant with my colleagues. Apart from the excellent company, the restaurant provided us with a perfect evening. The table we were assigned was ideal for the number of people attending. The atmosphere in the restaurant was calm and pleasant, and the service we received was professional and very precise. From the starters to the aperitif at the end of the meal, everything was exquisite. If you want to spend a perfect evening and enjoy excellent food, visit this restaurant.

After several recommendations, I reserved a table for dinner at the Kavala tavern in Bad Homburg yesterday. What can I say, all the dishes were very good and there was no rush from the service. The restaurant was well attended, even something as simple as a gyro tasted really good there. I also had several starters, everything to my liking, it wasn't the last time I was there and I can highly recommend the place.

Food was great, service was nice and attentive. Only on the skewer I had the meat was a bit too tough, but maybe that's how it should be. But Gyros was really cool ❤️. And there was ouzo on the house 😉

Simply a disaster I wanted to have a Greek meal with my girlfriend and we were really looking forward to it. But when we went into the tavern and asked for a table for two, an older, gray-haired waiter treated us disparagingly and slammed the menu card on the table. Very unfriendly, we left straight away The restaurant is not recommended 😡NO STAR OF COURSE

Very nice location and even nicer food.

We were in the restaurant with 7 people on Saturday evening. I had a 🐟 fish soup, very tasty, and the fish platter, all 🎏 types of fish were on point, juicy and tasty. I'm still excited now. The others were also very enthusiastic about their food. The price-performance ratio is still okay here. If I'm near Bad Homburg again, I'd love to come by again.

We have now been guests at the Kavala tavern twice. The waitresses are very friendly. Unfortunately, the kitchen was already closed on our second visit, but they prepared a warm starter for us. The food is super tasty and the portions are huge. We will definitely eat there again.

Traditional Greek restaurant, family business, which has been very successful in Bad Homburg for many years Pure Greek hospitality. The food? Like the hospitality, always very good. Expectations are fully met at a reasonable price. Cozy outdoor area in the warm season. Finding a parking space is not easy.

This is without a doubt my favorite Greek dish. And I'm willing to drive 40 km one way to Bad Homburg without complaint. Because everything is just right here. Except for the fact that nothing works without a reservation. It's always crowded here. No wonder. On the one hand, there is the wonderfully attentive staff, led by the 'boss', who warmly welcomes and serves the guests as if they were family. Speaking of family: the two sons are now also part of the service staff. And there is the outstanding Greek cuisine. With the huge charcoal grill and the show kitchen. Everything that is produced there is fanatically seasoned, always the best products. And the really cozy atmosphere does the rest. Do you now begin to understand why I always enjoy making the long journey to Bad Homburg?

We have been in Greece for 8 days. We eat in the most enchanted and beautiful taverns every day, but never once has it been as incredibly tasty as in the Kavala tavern. So we thought we would write a review from afar. Yamas!

We came here without a reservation and luckily got a table. The side salad was a bit sparse but the food was tasty. The gyros were not too dry and, above all, not overly seasoned. The staff very nice and attentive. We also liked the atmosphere. It was very crowded that evening and therefore very loud. You can really believe that the gyros do not come from the wholesale market as frozen goods, but are prepared and seasoned in-house. The side dishes were also appropriate and tasty. We were a group that wouldn't have found a place in the pub. So we were in the tent, which was kept at a comfortable temperature with heaters. The service was attentive and friendly, and the food was good and tasty. Can be recommended.

We came by here by chance and didn't look after it at all. Great service - especially very accommodating and familiar. Great food!!! Had the warm feta, beans and grilled pepperoni as a starter and the gyros as a main course. Everything is sensationally delicious!!! We'd love to come back!!!

Great location and super friendly service! Sitting outside in the sun immediately gives you a Mediterranean attitude to life😎 People often come here with children. Everyone here is very fond of children! There is a sandpit in the yard with opportunities to play. The food is great :) everything is great!

We had dinner at Kavala with 4 people on Sunday evening. We were warmly welcomed. The food was very good. The meat was consistently juicy. We had fun with the waiter and laughed a lot. At the end there was an ouzo on the house in addition to the reasonable bill. The atmosphere in Kavala is very nice. We will be back. Bright, cheap parking garage nearby.

Very nice, Greek restaurant in Bad Homburg. Large and varied selection of dishes, all of which are very tasty and freshly prepared. The staff is very attentive and special requests when ordering are no problem. To park, there is the festival area within walking distance, about 500 meters away. There are usually enough free parking spaces available here.

A nice restaurant with fascinating Greek interiors. They have a lovely aquarium also with beautiful colorful fishes and miniature Greek walls. They had only few vegetarian options so I had the broccoli pasta it was tasty and quantity was good.

Food and service very tasty. Unfortunately I can't really rate the ambience. Came without a reservation and barely managed to get a seat outside. This one wasn't so comfortable. However, a pillow and blankets were offered which made sitting more comfortable.

Wir haben während des Weihnachtsmarktes in Bad Homburg dort gegessen. Hatten angerufen und konnten 15 Minuten später im beheizten Außenzelt essen. Der Service war eher wenig, aber das Restaurant war auch sehr voll.

Wir waren gestern zum ersten Mal dort. Das Essen hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt, das Ambiente ist sehr schön und gemütlich. Preis-Leistung ist auch in Ordnung. Personal war wirklich sehr freundlich- bis auf eine Kellnerin die auch der Grund für die 3 Sterne Bewertung ist. Gerne hätte nur einen Stern gegeben - dies wäre jedoch dem anderen Personal nicht gerecht geworden. Wir hatten einen Tisch bis 19.30 Uhr reserviert. 15 min vor Ende wurden wir zunächst von einem anderen Kellner gefragt ob es in Ordnung wäre, wenn er die Rechnung bringt da die nächsten Gästen wohl schon da wären. Wir bejahten, da wir ohnehin eben fertig geworden sind. Es wurde bezahlt und innerhalb weniger Sekunden kam die anderen Kellnerin und machte einen riesen Stress "alles würde sich stauen" "die Gäste warten auf ihren Tisch" sie räumte unsere Sachen vom Tisch und fing an diesen zu decken. War ok. ABER die Krönung kam dann als sie uns dann wirklich vom Tisch verwies mit den Worten dass wir jetzt da weg müssten weil die anderen Gäste ja schon so lange warten, es nicht vorangeht etc. Wir hatten uns nach der Rechnung direkt angefangen anzuziehen, hatten jedoch auch 3 Kinder inkl Baby dabei. Es wurde uns nicht mal 5 min gegeben um zu gehen. Ich war froh dass ich unserem Baby wenigstens die Jacke schon geschafft hatte anzuziehen. Es war wirklich ein Unding! Sowas geht in unseren Augen absolut nicht und hat leider die positiven Sachen überschattet. Wenn die nachfolgenden Gäste zu früh kommen, können wir dafür nichts! Hätte man uns 5 min gegeben, wären die wartenenden Gäste trotzdem 10 min eher an den Tisch gekommen. Im Übrigen sahen diese sehr freundlich aus und hätten mit Sicherheit kein Problem damit gehabt, hätte man sie darauf hingewiesen. Es wäre schön wenn die Kellnerin ihr Verhalten mal überdenkt! Wir werden durch diesen Vorfall das Restaurant wahrscheinlich nicht mehr aufsuchen.

Das Essen war sehr lecker. Großer Auswahl, Preis-Leistung sehr gut. Wir haben spontan zum Glück den letzten freien Tisch bekommen. Sehr empfehlenswert.
