Taverne Halkis in Herzogenrath

One star is too much. We ordered several takeaway dishes. - Peking soup, or some watery concoction with hardly any ingredients. No seasoning whatsoever. - Menu B2: tough meat with lots of thick carrots, tough zucchini, and a completely tasteless, watery sauce. - Veggie spring rolls, better described as an unidentifiable vegetable mush in a super-thick, rubbery dough coating. - Vegan vegetables in spicy ginger sauce? More like thick carrots and zucchini swimming in brown water; you have to imagine the ginger and the rest of the flavor. Unfortunately, we only noticed this when we got home. Had we eaten in, we would have sent all the dishes back. We simply cannot understand the previous positive reviews.

It was our first time at Ufer21. The glass ball was cool, but unfortunately too cold. They should put something on the floor. The food wasn't hot either. The shrimp were very dry. Others had the steak skillet. "Well, it was okay," were the comments.

A very nice pub for darts, well-run. Friendly service, reasonable prices. Peter's Kölsch is a rare find in the Aachen area.

Excellent value for money, delicious food, I can highly recommend it.
