Siempre hemos conocido platos allí con mi familia. A los niños les gusta y este pueblo griego es bastante cool y fácil de llevar. El entorno de verano es mejor que el entorno de invierno, pero la comida y el servicio son muy consistentes.

The boss himself gave us a table for four on Boxing Day. The waitress with dark hair and big eyes is always particularly friendly. (We've been there a few times now) The food is very good and there is definitely something for vegetarians to eat😊 By the way, dogs are also welcome there 🥰

The staff was extremely friendly and the food was simply outstanding. I will definitely come back! Although the restaurant was very busy and we had originally made reservations for 10 people but ended up with 13 people, the team was extremely open and helpful. Despite the full house, a solution was quickly found. Thank you for the wonderful evening!

Food not really warm, dry, partly slightly over-roasted meat (gyros), to put it discreetly, and fart-dry. The portion of rice was a joke. Mass production. Quality and price performance are in dire straits. You don't have to have it twice.

We have been visiting the restaurant for 15 years!! The service is very warm and familiar. The food is very tasty and very well seasoned and meets our taste exactly!! Price-performance ratio TOP!! We just drive about 60km to Ingelheim to the Athens tavern 😀🥹

This restaurant is a real godsend. Great food, great ambience, friendly staff. What else can you say? Guys, if you're in Ingelheim, definitely go there. But reserve in time. In any case, we won't go past there without eating there.

We have been visiting the restaurant for years. The food is delicious, well seasoned and the portion is completely sufficient for me. In terms of price, I see the restaurant as being on the lower side. We visit various Greek restaurants and have already had a few seen higher priced cards. The service is attentive, there's nothing to complain about. Ashtrays on the table outside don't bother me. Everyone can (fortunately) decide for themselves whether to use it or not. Everyone is also free to choose the restaurant.

Just like you imagine a Greek restaurant to be. Fast service and great ambience. It's a shame that there are no more potato slices!

The food in the restaurant is really delicious. There were two of us there and we had a grill plate and calamari. I was thrilled with the calamari, it was freshly prepared (as fresh as fish can be in this place). The restaurant is large and very full in the summer months, making it loud and confusing. The service did its best and was friendly, but the number of people remained a noticeable challenge.

This was an absolutely great first time experience at Taverne Athena in Ingelheim am Rhein. We received a positive recommendation and took some friends to dine with us. I would recommend a reservation, but it is not necessary. The staff was very accommodating, polite, and professional to all that asked for service. We were seated very fast and offered a complimentary, ice cold, Ouzo. The food was delicious with a sizeable portion and the menu had good variety. It fulfilled my expectations for having a great night, in an oustanding atmosphere, and with a delicious meal. I highly recommend Taverne Athen and will absolutely make reservations again.

It tastes okay, but every dish can be found elsewhere for 3-5 euros cheaper and a little tastier; other Greek restaurants in the area also have larger portions. Nice outdoor area, but you're guaranteed to meet smokers there - you don't have to ask for an ashtray, it's right on the table and won't be put away without asking.

Wir waren wiedermal begeistert. Vorspeise hervorragend. Hauptspeise bestens und wir waren Pappe satt. Ich habe es mir trotzdem nicht nehmen lassen noch ein Eis als Nachspeise zu bestellen. Friendly service, delicious food at a fair price

I have been a guest here for over 30 years. For us there is no better Greek food in the entire area. The ambience is great - the terrace is a dream in summer and the service is excellent.

Went there spontaneously yesterday. The food was carelessly prepared, but the taste was good and the portions were very manageable. Price-performance is therefore not right. Too bad.

Parking spaces are a bit rare on weekends, but it doesn't hurt to walk 😃. Food and service are wonderful. The restaurant is also invitingly designed.

Our favorite restaurant for years! This family-run Greek restaurant offers a wonderful mix of authentic cuisine, warm hospitality and fair prices. The portions are generous and the quality of the food leaves nothing to be desired. The traditional dishes such as gyros and bifteki are always a delight. You can feel that the cooking here is done with love and dedication - the atmosphere is cozy and familiar, you immediately feel welcome. A small wish: It would be nice if the vegetarian selection was expanded a bit. Otherwise there is absolutely nothing to complain about. We always enjoy coming here and look forward to our next visit!

As soon as you walk in you are hit with the smell of mildew from the fountain. We ordered mussels in tomato sauce and they were microwaved, soggy, and extremely fishy. We ordered lamb and it tasted like gasoline so we sent it back. The second lamb dish tasted the same. We ordered beef next and it was mostly fat. We were brought the wrong wine twice and sent it back. We were charged for all of the items we sent back (mussels, 2x lamb, wine). Horrendous service and not sure who is giving the good ratings for this place. It was not worth €140 as we didn’t eat anything and were served old food. Very very bad experience and unfriendly staff.

Update 7/21/24: After a long time we finally went here to eat again; Unfortunately we were disappointed with the main course. The warm starter platter was extremely tasty and has now become richer again. Given how full the restaurant was, our food came quite quickly. The service is still super friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the main course was both tzatziki; as well as our food (marathon plates and village plates) were completely over-seasoned and sometimes significantly oversalted. It's a shame - we know it differently and better. My wife's food was complained about and brought back immediately. Unfortunately also over-seasoned as described above. End of update. Always my pleasure. Nice service, good prices and really tasty food; I also like to be outside in the summer

Very nice atmosphere with lots of nice corners to sit. Small playground, fountain, bird aviary, etc. Everyone really liked the food, spicy and fresh. The portions are really good, but if you want an XXL (with half being thrown away) it might not be enough. I thought it was great for the prices. The baklava for dessert tasted much better than I've ever had from a Turk. The service did everything right, something you rarely find in German restaurants these days. Friendly, understanding and you weren't forgotten. Despite my satisfaction, there is room for improvement: no plastic tablecloths, and special Greek wines, please not only in the bottle.

The six of us were there two weeks ago and when I paid I was told that the only way to pay was with a credit card. Puzzled, I said that this had never happened to me thousands of times in this country and that I couldn't pay. Who walks around with their credit card, except abroad. Then there was some talk on the phone and the waiter came back straight away and things went as usual. Should cash be sought and why? So we won't be going back any time soon.

Like Berliners, are here for the first time and are totally thrilled. A very cozy atmosphere, great service and very tasty food. Complaints are recognized very quickly and addressed with attention. Very loving and attentive staff. I want and will come again. Thank you for everything.

I was there recently with several people during the week; Everyone had gyros on their plate. Unfortunately the taste was not tasty and it was very, very dark (on all plates). We've never experienced anything like this from a Greek. A complaint to the waiter only elicited a shrug from him. The starter was brought with the main course and followed the poor quality level of the main course. We skipped dessert. Hence 2 stars. The service wasn't really attentive; Reordering drinks seemed to be designed as an Olympic task. Conclusion, we won't be coming back.

The food is very good, the service is very inflexible and gives the impression of being annoyed. With the grill plates it would be nice if there was a dollop of tzatziki with it and you didn't have to order a large one.

The location is great. Unfortunately the food is like 1980. There are Greek restaurants that offer better, more modern cuisine.

Das war wohl nichts. Gyros bei allen vier Essen verbrannt und ungenießbar. Obwohl wir das alle reklamiert haben, kein Wort der Entschuldigung. Auch bei der Bezahlung wurde nicht auf unsere erneute Reklamation eingegangen.

It's very comfortable and nice to sit there and the food tastes very good. I had a salad plate with turkey strips. But there were only 2 types of lettuce and 3 tomato wedges on the plate (leaf lettuce and coleslaw) and there was only a tablespoon full of the coleslaw. I think that if it is offered as a main course there should be 3 to 4 types of salad. And it wasn't very appetizing when presented. The eye is there!!!!

The beautifully designed beer garden creates a Greek holiday feeling. We liked the food very much and was well seasoned. It's a shame that there aren't the usual potato slices.

Friendly staff, we were greeted with an ouzo on the house. The food came very quickly and was delicious. The atmosphere inside is historically Greek and very cozy. There was no allergen menu, but upon request we knew which foods had gluten.

Yes, we were there with a group and had reserved, but the table for 8 people was far too small, at most 6 people. As always, the service was okay, fast, and the prices of the food were okay too. Although the side salad was rather small, only greens, 4 leaves and a forkful of coleslaw with a slice of tomatoes. It was better, well, you have to save money somewhere, in my opinion you don't need it anymore. But we will go back because the dishes taste good.

Warm appetizers: Mussels in tomato sauce Wine is great - Naoussa, red wine. Feta with garlic gratin. Fish platter. Great service

Die Karte bietet soweit alles, was man sich wünschen kann. Der Service war höflich und flott und auch mal für ein kleines Schwätzchen zu haben, die Speisen waren schnell am Tisch und wirklich sehr köstlich. Wer auf ein kurzes oder auch langes Aufhalten im Restaurant aus ist, kann sich darauf verlassen, dass rund herum versorgt wird. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und werden bestimmt nochmal dort hin gehen, vor allem sobald es warm genug für den tollen Biergarten ist.

Leider waren die verschiedenen Fleischstücke sehr stark gesalzen. Die Bedienung nahm das zu Kenntnis, mehr auch nicht. Das Brot zum Zaziki war mindestens 3 Tage alt und Gummig. Die Pommes hatten auch nach altem Frittieröl geschmeckt. Wenn das Essen so gut wie die Gastfreundschaft wäre, wäre das Essen sicher auch super!

Leider hat die Qualität des Essen hier stark nachgelassen. Kenne das Restaurant schon lange, daher kann ich mir ein Urteil darüber erlauben. Jetzt versucht man hier auch nur die Gäste möglichst billig abzuspeisen. - fängt beim Beilagensalat an der nur noch so lieblos, minimalistisch, extrem sparsam angerichtet ist (zu einem griechischen Salatteller gehört auch nen anständiger Krautsalat) - Pommes die dünnsten, billigsten und dann auch noch lauwarm - Baguette im Brotkörbchen hat geschmeckt wie vorm Vortag, total trocken - Preise gestiegen / passt nicht zu nachlassender Qualität - Bedienung (weiblich) leicht überfordert und kann nicht 9+3,50€ im Kopf rechnen 😵‍💫 - Wartezeit zum Essen gut, ging relativ schnell Vllt sollte man sich für manche Dinge etwas mehr Zeit nehmen. - Bedienung freundlich

Ein muß für mich wenn ich in Ingelheim bin.

Das Essen war im Vergleich zu anderen griechischen Restaurants nichts Besonderes und die dicken Bohnen machten den Hauptteil des Vorspeisentellers aus, Taramas war sehr kartoffellastig für 24 Euro und der suflaki Spieß hatte 3 Scheiben ca. 5x5x0,7 dazu völlig matschige uberkochtr und lasche khirtiraki Nudeln. Beim Salat fehlten die Zwiebeln und das Brot ist weich und lapprig. Die Bedienungen sind sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Da geht wirklich noch was, wenn die Küche meine Bewertung als Verbesserung nimmt, da es ein schönes Lokal ist.

Super schönes Ambiente. Man fühlt sich wie in Griechenland im Urlaub. Echte Vögel gibt's dort auch. Das Essen war sehr gut vom Fleisch her, jedoch fehlt bei den Grilltellern das sonst übliche Tzatziki. Dies muss man extra bestellen. Der Service war gut, wenn es jedoch voll ist, wartet man etwas länger.

Service war unterirdisch, Teller wurden abgeräumt obwohl noch nicht alle mit dem Essen fertig waren.

Sehr schöne große Terrasse, leider oft sehr laut. Essen ist reichlich aber leider für unseren Geschmack zu salzig und das Fleisch teilweise etwas zu trocken.

Wie im Urlaub! Waren gestern mal wieder in der Taverne und haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Der Außenbereich ist ist echt gelungen - sicher Geschmackssache, aber uns gefällt‘s. Die Auswahl an Speisen lässt kaum Wünsche offen und die Speisen sind wirklich sehr lecker und frisch. Der Service ist flott und sehr aufmerksam - Blicke genügen und schon ist eine der zahlreichen Servicekräfte zur Stelle. Auch das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist echt fair. Alles in allem - macht Lust auf mehr…

Wir kommen schon seit über 25 Jahren dort zum Essen hin, mindestens alle 4 Wochen und egal wo ich bisher griechisch essen war selbst in Griechenland haben wir keinen besseren gefunden wir lieben es dort

Vor ein paar Tagen waren wir zu Viert dort. Wir (alle Nichtraucher) hatten Plätze im Raucherbereich. Das war uns vorher bekannt. Weil aber dort in der Regel nur wenig geraucht wird war das für uns in Ordnung. Die anderen Gäste haben nur sehr wenig geraucht; unsere nächsten Nachbarn sogar jeweils nur eine Zigarette. Es war auch für uns Nichtraucher kein Problem. Zum Problem wurde aber, dass die Mitarbeiter des Hauses im unmittelbaren Bereich zu unseren Plätzen (2 - 3m Entfernung) geraucht haben. Einzelne Mitarbeiter waren in den zwei Stunden, die wir dort waren, fünfmal -teils auch mit mehreren) dort zum rauchen. Auch während wir oder andere gegessen haben. Das war sehr unangenehm. Nach rund zwei Stunden haben wir deshalb darauf hingewiesen, dass wir dadurch stark belästigt wurden. Die gereizte Antwort war, dass wir ja im Raucherbereich sitzen würden und das deshalb hinnehmen müssten. Wir wären gern noch geblieben, haben dann aber bezahlt und werden sicher nicht mehr dorthin gehen.

mit sehr flottem aufmerksamen Service, entspannt, unkompliziert. 5* Ausgezeichnete Lamm Souflski, zart saftig, gut gewürzt, 5*. Gyros bekommt nur 3*. Wir sind sehr zufrieden nach Hause gegangen und kommen gerne wieder.

Könnte besser sein. Seit 30 Jahren die gleiche Speisekarte, zu sehr gewürzt, meist sogar übersalzen. Wer in Griechenland einmal essen war, geht hier ungern wieder hin. Der Vorteil hier ist der schöne Sommergarten, das war es aber auch schon.

Speisen kann ich nicht beurteilen, da wir nur etwas getrunken haben, aber der Gesamteindruck war sehr gut. Sehr schönes ansprechendes Restaurant.
