There were five of us there yesterday. Pleasant atmosphere. Appetizers 10/10, main courses also good. Service was very attentive, but above all, incredibly fast and genuinely friendly. That's rare to experience. We were satisfied and thank you!

High quality produce. Taramas and grilled seabream both very well executed, which is rare.

If you're looking for typical Berlin bluntness, this isn't the place for you. Greek hospitality will envelop you from the moment you arrive. The ambiance is wonderful. The friendliness is amazing. The food is delicious. It's an oasis of calm in Berlin. 👍🏻

Very authentic and delicious! We stumbled upon Taverna Olive quite by chance. We'd been searching for a good Greek restaurant in Friedrichshain for ages – and now we've finally found it! A great selection of appetizers, all of which were delicious! The main courses are a good size – especially if you also order an appetizer. The meat was juicy and tasty, and the small salad served beforehand was fresh. The freshly tapped beer was also excellent. The food arrived quickly, so we didn't have to wait long while feeling hungry. I especially appreciated the friendly service. Thank you for your smiles and your cheerful manner! We'll definitely be back!

A very nice Greek restaurant. The food was very good, and the portions were generous. The service was very friendly and attentive. The food arrived quickly, but not too quickly. The value for money was excellent! Only one person at the next table had very unhealthy flatulence. Clouds of gas regularly and violently drifted over to our table and then hovered over it. This gentleman should urgently see a doctor or change his diet. But that's not the restaurant's fault.

There were four of us eating here on Sunday evening, November 30th. The staff was very friendly! However, the next morning I felt very unwell and vomited. I felt very sick for three to four days. My girlfriend also vomited; we had both eaten chicken. I had chicken schnitzel, and my girlfriend also had chicken. Our husbands were fine, having eaten fish and gyros.

Great place in Friedrichshain. Rustic building with a great atmosphere. I love coming here with my sister. The food is always delicious. We especially love the vegan gyros. It's my absolute favorite on the menu.

We stumbled upon this restaurant quite by chance during our Berlin city trip, and they were actually still serving food even at that late hour. To our delight, the first page of the menu featured vegan dishes in typical Greek style. We ordered the vegan bifteki and gyros, each with sides, along with vegan tzatziki. It was incredibly delicious, and the portions were more than generous—they even packed up the leftovers for us. The service was very friendly, and of course, we were offered the traditional welcome ouzo. All in all, we were completely satisfied and would like to say thank you.

Super romantic! We sat at a table for two by candlelight – the ambiance couldn't have been better. The waiters were incredibly attentive and the service was quick. The food was fantastic; the meat was cooked to perfection, juicy and delicious. The hot and cold appetizer platter we ordered for one was more than enough for two. We felt like we were on our favorite island, Crete. There was plenty of ouzo. It's truly authentic Greek; you'd expect the same kind of service even in a small taverna in the hinterland. Many thanks to the restaurant owners! If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely be back – amazing! We paid €81 for two people, which is fantastic for the quality you'd get in Germany. We had made a reservation beforehand.

We were there for Halloween, the food arrived quickly and was very tasty. The service was also very good. Even children who came in in costume received food. We'd gladly come again.

Taverna Olive pleasantly surprised us. The food here is really good, and the tzatziki is world-class. The service staff is super friendly, and the place is clean and well-maintained. There are really only a few improvements to the excellence: The fries need to stay in the fryer longer; sometimes they're not cooked all the way through. The ouzo should be served colder; sometimes it's too warm, and please put a little more tzatziki on the grill plates. Otherwise, this place is simply perfect. Thank you very much, we'll be happy to come back.

This is my second time here with friends. The food was delicious, the service was friendly and the prices were reasonable.

There were four of us (very hungry) who hadn't made a reservation and were on our way to a concert. We received a very warm welcome, and even though all the tables were reserved, we were seated without having to wait a single minute and were treated very hospitably. The food was simply excellent, and the drinks were just what you'd expect. A clean, highly recommended restaurant with excellent staff. We'll definitely be back, even if the journey is a bit farther.

Everything is just right here. I went to this restaurant with my daughter today. We received a very warm welcome. The setting is fantastic, cozy, and very clean. Beautiful wooden floors, everything is attractively and tastefully decorated. The service was very helpful: welcoming us, answering the phone, preparing drinks. Like a day in Greece That's how it felt during our visit. The restaurant is family-owned and we immediately felt welcome. The food was authentic and delicious. We finished with an original frappe and loukomades. It's a shame we're from Hamburg. Otherwise, the Olive would have immediately become our regular Greek restaurant. Ordered food for delivery, got both stomach problems from it, food was not very well seasoned and the portions very small for the price. Worst thing was the hair I found in the tsaziki. Not many options for veggie people.

A great new discovery. We ate here for the first time today in the relaxed part of Grünberger. We are so excited! Good and friendly service. However, the food was disappointing in my opinion. The garlic bread was a baguette with too much oil. The gyro was good, but the portion was a bit small for the price. The entire dish was sprinkled with a dry spice (I think oregano). Unfortunately, that didn't suit my taste.

What a great restaurant! Great service and the vegan menu is great. There were three of us and we all ordered a vegan dish and loved it! I haven't eaten Greek for so long because I always found it very unsatisfying if you don't like a lot of meat. Now there is finally a great alternative 🙌 Card payment no problem. Nice restaurant

The quality of the food was okay, but the portions were relatively small. Other Greek restaurants usually serve larger portions. In the case of the Bifteki, the feta filling was also very small, meaning that less than half of the minced meat steak was filled. The “garlic bread” resembled a frozen garlic baguette from the supermarket. A little onion or small pieces of tomatoes would have spiced up the bread. The starter salad was also a bit small. The dressing tasted good. The service was consistently courteous and left a nice impression. The ambience and mood in the location was also pleasant. All in all, we didn't regret eating there and the prices weren't too high either, but I wouldn't necessarily come here a second time and wouldn't recommend it. Maybe the restaurant will improve.

Unfortunately, the garlic bread potatoes didn't taste like garlic. I have never had Metaxa sauce served so badly seasoned. The gyro itself was also not very satisfactory. The filling of the bifteki was very poor. Garlic bread was okay, but could have been more. The side salad was delicious. All in all, we've had much better Greek food. Bonus star for service and ambience.

The Tavern Olive in Friedrichshain is simply an insider tip! Super cozy atmosphere, beautifully furnished and perfect for spending a relaxing evening. As soon as you walk in you feel at home - the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The food? Absolutely fantastic! The meze platters are a must - everything fresh, super flavorful and perfect for sharing. The main dishes are also prepared to perfection, whether meat, fish or vegetarian. I was particularly impressed by the quality of the ingredients - you can simply taste that they cook with love here. There is also a really good selection of wines that rounds the whole thing off. The prices are absolutely fair for the quality you get. If you love Mediterranean cuisine and want to spend a relaxed evening in a great atmosphere, you should definitely stop by here. I'll definitely be back!

I ordered here via Uber-eats and unfortunately our food was a bit mixed. With the Gyros Metaxa, the cheese sauce and seasoning of the food were really good. However, the moussaka consisted of 50% bechamel sauce, which initially tasted just sweet and lemony, so we wondered if mascarpone had gotten into it. Unfortunately, the mince in the moussaka was also very bland except for a few spots that had been hit by a little salt. Unfortunately a disappointing experience.

Such a disappointing evening with service, food, and value for money. Small appetizer portions( we ordered 3) and 5 main entrees. No one enjoyed their food. Greasy, tasteless, just plain sad looking and tasting food. We had 4 small pieces of bread to share among 5 people- for all the dips and gyros we had all ordered!! We looked on how others had what looked like complimentary Ouzo and we were expecting that as well. We had my daughter’s boyfriend, who is Greek, proudly order everything in Greek, but still service and food subpar, to say the least. What a let down. Will never return or recommend. Daughter and Greek boyfriend will not return and they live around the corner. Too bad. Ambiance looks cute and cozy, but cold service and bad food. Too be fair- after we paid and started to put on coats they offered us ouzo but the mood was already bad. Such a let down!! It’s Berlin- finding a better restaurant should be easy.

La Taverna Oliva: When Greek cuisine is betrayed In a city as teeming as Berlin, where the dining options seem endless, it's astonishing how some establishments fail to offer decent cuisine. Taverna Oliva, with its incomprehensible 4.8 star rating, is the perfect example: a supposedly Greek address that betrays, on an almost spectacular level, the culinary heritage it purports to represent. Greek cuisine, celebrated throughout the world for its perfect balance between generosity and subtlety, has even been crowned the best cuisine in the world. But here, everything that makes it great is destroyed. The disaster reaches its climax with moussaka, this emblematic dish which embodies the Greek soul. What should have been a harmonious sequence of tender eggplant, expertly seasoned meat and a light béchamel turned into a culinary trainwreck. A thick, lumpy and omnipresent béchamel crushes everything in its path, reducing the other ingredients to pale extras. Not a trace of the expected finesse, not an ounce of that warmth which makes a successful moussaka a moment of absolute comfort. Here, we don't eat: we endure. And yet, it’s not for lack of trying to compensate. The homemade bread, relatively decent with its golden crust and soft crumb, briefly raises the level before the accompanying salad, drowned in an industrial sauce, brings us back to the sad reality of soulless and effortless cuisine. But beyond the plates, it’s the context that leaves you speechless. How is it possible, in a capital like Berlin, to give such rave reviews to restaurants that make so many mistakes? By praising such services, expectations collapse and the requirement disappears. The question is legitimate: where have the palaces of the people in this city gone? Because it must be said, opening a Greek restaurant and failing at this point is almost disrespectful. This does not pay any homage to a cuisine which nevertheless has everything to seduce and move. La Taverna Oliva, aside from being a disappointment, is a worrying symptom of a general complacency toward mediocrity. Too many Berlin restaurants rely on exaggerated notes which in no way reflect the quality served. Here, not only did the promised culinary journey not take place, but the entire Greek heritage was flouted, dish after dish. Berlin is full of restaurants, but it is time for quality to regain its reputation. As for La Taverna Oliva, it will take much more than a candle on an old-fashioned table to rekindle the flame of a successful meal. It is with anger that I write this review because serving such dishes is a huge lack of respect for the culture and the customer. This is unacceptable
