A bit loud but it's because it's full. It's full because the food is great. I loved it and want to come back here soon.

1. there was my favorite wine 🫶 2. Allergy sufferers' requests are addressed and helped where possible 3. Food selection from the grill could be a little more 🫣, it was difficult for picky allergy sufferers like me to find something right away 😔 but I can complain in a special way 😉 ... 4. If you don't like ouzo, you get... NOTHING... too bad... Amaretto or coffee would have been an alternative... 💡Dear Taverna Olive, please think about it... not everyone likes this aniseed taste 😔 or, um, I like aniseed cookies, so that would be 3 ideas for you 💡 Conclusion: Almost everything was ok with the food, the staff was great, the ambience was also ok

I ordered here via Uber-eats and unfortunately our food was a bit mixed. With the Gyros Metaxa, the cheese sauce and seasoning of the food were really good. However, the moussaka consisted of 50% bechamel sauce, which initially tasted just sweet and lemony, so we wondered if mascarpone had gotten into it. Unfortunately, the mince in the moussaka was also very bland except for a few spots that had been hit by a little salt. Unfortunately a disappointing experience.

Such a disappointing evening with service, food, and value for money. Small appetizer portions( we ordered 3) and 5 main entrees. No one enjoyed their food. Greasy, tasteless, just plain sad looking and tasting food. We had 4 small pieces of bread to share among 5 people- for all the dips and gyros we had all ordered!! We looked on how others had what looked like complimentary Ouzo and we were expecting that as well. We had my daughter’s boyfriend, who is Greek, proudly order everything in Greek, but still service and food subpar, to say the least. What a let down. Will never return or recommend. Daughter and Greek boyfriend will not return and they live around the corner. Too bad. Ambiance looks cute and cozy, but cold service and bad food. Too be fair- after we paid and started to put on coats they offered us ouzo but the mood was already bad. Such a let down!! It’s Berlin- finding a better restaurant should be easy.

We immediately felt comfortable. There is a great atmosphere, very good selection of dishes. Attention is also paid to vegetarians and vegans 🙏

Nice atmosphere, I felt very comfortable as if it was my local from my own neighborhood. Service was nice, not too intrusive. The food was ok. The eye didn't eat here. Meat on a plate and that’s pretty much it. Another recommendation would be a garnish. This is just a small suggestion for improvement! Starter was very tasty (baked feta)! Thank you very much for the Ouzo, gladly again!

La Taverna Oliva: When Greek cuisine is betrayed In a city as teeming as Berlin, where the dining options seem endless, it's astonishing how some establishments fail to offer decent cuisine. Taverna Oliva, with its incomprehensible 4.8 star rating, is the perfect example: a supposedly Greek address that betrays, on an almost spectacular level, the culinary heritage it purports to represent. Greek cuisine, celebrated throughout the world for its perfect balance between generosity and subtlety, has even been crowned the best cuisine in the world. But here, everything that makes it great is destroyed. The disaster reaches its climax with moussaka, this emblematic dish which embodies the Greek soul. What should have been a harmonious sequence of tender eggplant, expertly seasoned meat and a light béchamel turned into a culinary trainwreck. A thick, lumpy and omnipresent béchamel crushes everything in its path, reducing the other ingredients to pale extras. Not a trace of the expected finesse, not an ounce of that warmth which makes a successful moussaka a moment of absolute comfort. Here, we don't eat: we endure. And yet, it’s not for lack of trying to compensate. The homemade bread, relatively decent with its golden crust and soft crumb, briefly raises the level before the accompanying salad, drowned in an industrial sauce, brings us back to the sad reality of soulless and effortless cuisine. But beyond the plates, it’s the context that leaves you speechless. How is it possible, in a capital like Berlin, to give such rave reviews to restaurants that make so many mistakes? By praising such services, expectations collapse and the requirement disappears. The question is legitimate: where have the palaces of the people in this city gone? Because it must be said, opening a Greek restaurant and failing at this point is almost disrespectful. This does not pay any homage to a cuisine which nevertheless has everything to seduce and move. La Taverna Oliva, aside from being a disappointment, is a worrying symptom of a general complacency toward mediocrity. Too many Berlin restaurants rely on exaggerated notes which in no way reflect the quality served. Here, not only did the promised culinary journey not take place, but the entire Greek heritage was flouted, dish after dish. Berlin is full of restaurants, but it is time for quality to regain its reputation. As for La Taverna Oliva, it will take much more than a candle on an old-fashioned table to rekindle the flame of a successful meal. It is with anger that I write this review because serving such dishes is a huge lack of respect for the culture and the customer. This is unacceptable

Very tasty Lammkronnen (rack of lamb) no.64 and greek sausages. It comes with bread that is incredibly soft and yummy 🤤 Relaxing ambiance and service, which makes you feel comfortable. Price not very cheap but quite good nowadays especially for the quality you get. I will go back. :)

I rate this great Greek restaurant with full ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! The host qualities are excellent. Starting with the appetizers to the dessert, everything tastes delicious. The best Greek in Berlin, 100 percent! We look forward to further visits.

We were there spontaneously around 6 p.m. and the waiter told us that he only had a place available for us until 7 p.m. We thought that was ok and initially the service was very quick and we got our food quickly. The food was delicious, although the portion was a bit small for a Greek restaurant. What I didn't find so successful was that, despite empty glasses and just under 30 minutes left, we weren't asked if we would like something more to drink or dessert. Not only sales but also a star rating were given away.

In addition to well-known Greek classics with meat and fish, there is a vegan daily menu with vegan gyros, bifteki and souflaki, as well as vegetarian moussaka. We decided on the vegan Bifteki and were very enthusiastic. The restaurant also looks inviting and the service is super warm. Absolute recommendation for a lovely evening.

The restaurant is a very good choice if you want good food, a relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. In addition, we had requested some changes to the food and these were also implemented very well. Even if the journey from Reinickendorf to Friedrichshain is modest, we will definitely come back!

We have been here several times in larger groups. Big advantage: It is one of the few Greek restaurants that also offers great dishes for the vegetarians among us. So there is definitely something for everyone and no one has to “just” resort to appetizers. There are even vegan gyros and souflaki. Great!

A Greek that not only satisfies carnal cravings, but also offers vegan gyros and bifteki? Yes, that exists too - and it works. Both the meat dishes and the vegan gyros are tasty, although the latter is a bit dry if you don't have any tzatziki left (but that's more due to the vegan composition, not the restaurant itself). Service is also very friendly. Recommended. Edit: After the last visit, a star deducted because the tzatziki hardly tasted like garlic and the portion of tzatziki as a side dish was also quite small.

Having vegan options is really great. But in vegan tzatziki they use sweetened soy yogurt, and the taste is quite strange. It would be better if they used unsweetened soy yogurt or made it with vegan cream. However, the ambience and staff are fantastic.

A great restaurant with great service. The food was delicious across the board and if I lived in Berlin, it would be my regular Greek restaurant from now on. The only negative thing is that you can only give it 5 stars.

What a delightful meal we had here .. unplanned as well! My mrs. and I were roaming around the neighbourhood wanting a hearty meal and thats exactly what we got here. Despite the english-german translation difficulty we felt very welcome and would definitely visit again when we come to berlin next time.

We received 2 ouzos per each person as welcome and goodbye treat. Very friendly and fast waiters, quality (gyros and pork medallions) quite good.

We were there with friends last Saturday evening. Very good food and friendly service. The mistake of adding too much ouzo to the bill was kindly resolved. However, the location could be a bit nicer inside. All in all we were satisfied.

So the patoto is boiled not baked, salad came without oil and vinegar, mousakka looks like cake and taste is not good. how they get rated that high

Unfortunately the food was a bit disappointing. The starters were better than the main courses. The gratinated gyros were a bit dry, the bifteki was on the grill for too long and seasoned with far too much thyme. However, the service and ambience were good. Price wise okay.

I waited about an hour for my food and the order finally got canceled and I was hungry. That's not how it's done.

Friedrichshain street restaurant. You can sit on the sidewalk and watch the hustle and bustle. Lots of (traditional) dishes in a vegetarian version. All around okay. The garlic potatoes smell really delicious, I will choose them next time.

The service and the ambience are top. The food was good, nothing more, nothing less, although my children really liked the grilled chicken breast. My gyro was fine. Unfortunately it wasn't the revelation. But it was also the first visit! The cold and warm starters sounded tempting. I am a big fan of these dishes. I'll try these next time I visit! Maybe I'll change my assessment then, because what I saw looked promising. We'll definitely see each other again ;-) Promised

We are guests at Taverna Olive again today and can say that it was great again. From the friendly welcome, to the delicious food (particularly recommended the lamb shank), the delicious ouzo to the Greek mocha, everything gives you that certain holiday feeling. Special dining requests are also happy to be fulfilled. Feel free to come again and again.

Fried potatoes with garlic = felt like opening the frozen bag, putting it in the deep fryer and sprinkling some garlic over it. I didn't like the main course, gyros with Metaxa sauce either. I had the impression of yesterday's meat. Overall I was disappointed.

I cannot recommend this place for vegans. The vegan beeftaki with fries was just storebought frozen burger patties with frozen fries. I had really high expectations for this restaurant reading the reviews here but oh lord. One of the worst vegan restaurant food experiences I ever had.

In Barcelona, ​​where I come from, there has been a clear decline in Greek restaurants, so we were happy to have this one right next to the hotel. We ordered two starter dishes, garlic mashed potatoes and eggplant cream, and two main dishes, pastitsio and gyros. Everything was delicious, the first puree was surprising, it was fresh and tasty like a spring sunset. As a gift they gave us ouzo (!!!), salad and half country bread. Needless to say, we came out strong.

We were there with our friends on Sunday at 7 p.m., we were very excited. The food was great, the waiters were all very nice, we felt very comfortable. When we are back in Berlin, we will come back to you, unfortunately we live in Stade. It's a shame you're not near us, keep it up.

Typical Greek food is served in Taverna Olive. The portions are large and hearty and were actually a bit too much for us. Price performance is great and the service is first class! I found the ambience to be so-so: rather loud and busy, ok for dinner inside or outside.

Cozy small Greek taverna. Good friendly service. Food is fresh and delicious. The only thing we were disappointed about: the mixed meze plate contained only vegetarian options (it was not specified in the menu). The rest was top.

Mega delicious Greek restaurant. The food is really really good. The service is very, very friendly and remembers its guests, thumbs up for that too and sitting outside when the weather is nice exudes an absolute holiday feeling. Maybe it was a bad day for the kitchen, but the food wasn't tasty. The warm antipasti plate with fried vegetables was full of oil. Gyros not soft and juicy, but hard and dry. Moussaka was ok.

The five of us, with a reserved table, had a delicious meal here on a Saturday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and had a great time. Very friendly staff, good recommendations, both for drinks and food. The atmosphere is very pleasant and people know their craft in the kitchen. Special requests were implemented better than expected without much explanation. It is urgent to come back because you can't decide with all the great dishes and the dessert is the crowning glory. My husband would go there again just for that and we have to drive through half of Berlin.

Very good food, but the range of vegan dishes could be expanded - unfortunately we missed a vegan garlic bread. The portions themselves weren't necessarily generous either; given the prices, we expected a little more in terms of quantity. The service is nice, but we had to wait quite a long time, especially to place the order, which could have been quicker. There was a bit of a draft inside, so please make sure the windows in the back area are closed.
