Taverna "Der Grieche" in Veitshöchheim

We only found the restaurant in an educational center after asking around, as it was remote and unlit. The ambiance was a bit chilly, with a salad with a sweet and sour marinade, pepperoni, and olives. The food was okay, as were the prices.

The food is amazing, most of it is homemade by the chef. Service is a bit rough when the chef is there, but always friendly (family business). The ambiance is still being worked on, as the shop just moved to Helen-Keller-Straße 5. The dining room is incredibly beautiful. The signage is a bit lacking, as the new restaurant is located in the Berufsförderungswerk Würzburg (BFW), and the signage belongs to the BFW. Prices are also completely reasonable, for example: a Greek plate for €16.90, and the portions are generous.

We (4 adults + 2 children) went there for dinner for the first time. The chef is very friendly and serves directly, which we loved. The ambiance was truly wonderful, and the view of the soccer field is also very relaxing. The chairs inside are also comfortable. We all ordered different dishes to share so we could try each other's dishes. Unfortunately, we weren't very satisfied; the Metaxa sauce had a tomatoey flavor, the meat (souvlaki and lamb chop) was very dry, and the tzatziki was very flavorless. The salad and the gyro were good. However, that wasn't enough to win us over. What a shame.

There is still room for improvement in terms of taste and portions. I had the gyros, which was hardly seasoned and the portions could have been larger. Other things, however, looked better.

One star is still too many. We wanted to eat there and were greeted with a grumpy look and no greeting. At no point did we feel welcome as guests. Other guests who arrived after us were served first and already had their drinks and food, while we couldn't even order a drink. The ambiance was also rather nonexistent, underscoring the unwelcoming atmosphere. We left without ordering because we felt very uncomfortable and ignored. Nothing can be said about the food, as we didn't eat anything.

The food was okay... I didn't really like the pies. I had hoped for a lot more flavor-wise. The service and atmosphere weren't great. No card payments!

I can only recommend it; the food is excellent and the prices are reasonable. The friendly lady and gentleman are great and always have time for a pleasant chat. It's a picture-perfect Greek restaurant; as soon as you walk in you're given a warm welcome. The place looks just like you'd imagine a Greek restaurant to be. The cleanliness is top-notch, whether in the dining room, outside, or in the restrooms. We enjoy coming here.

It is the restaurant of a sports club 6m away. The innkeeper is taciturn but friendly. The extremely tasty food always came quickly, hot and of very good quality. The rooms are clean but minimalistically sparse. There is still a beer garden, but I can't say anything about it. I go there regularly and can highly recommend it as a place to eat. But a location for a first date in a great atmosphere wouldn't be my first choice.

09/12/2024 The restaurant is also a clubhouse for a sports club. I got food there for the evening. Gyros, tzatziki, salad, garlic potatoes. Gyros was a small portion, and mediocre. Not crispy, not particularly juicy, not great. Tzatziki was really skinny. And call the baby's hand full of lettuce a salad? well... and the garlic potatoes were ready-made potato slices, a little garlic on top and into the oven... no, unfortunately it doesn't call for repetition. The waiter was an older gentleman who wasn't particularly motivated. His face showed that he viewed guests as troublemakers. It could also be misleading, but I had that impression.

Ordered takeaway food from a grumpy looking man. Unfortunately we couldn't pay with a card and had to go to the nearby savings bank... At home we discovered that the order was prepared incorrectly. When I called, there was no suggestion of how to fix the problem... Unfortunately it was far too expensive and it didn't taste good either, at least the price doesn't reflect the quality. Meat was tough and dry, potatoes were cooked for far too long and portions were very small for a 17 euro plate...Never again

The food is really very good quality. Usual selection, but a whole shade better than usual. Locally tidy, clean, seems a bit sterile, but that's due to the size of the room. Any time.

I ordered a grill plate where the lamb was more than tough and well-done and the calamari wasn't really much better. The service was quiet, the restaurant is located right next to a sports field and is more reminiscent of a clubhouse, although it is bright and friendly. The prices are ok so far.

Getränkekarte nicht aktuell. Wollte zusätzlich zum gemischten Teller Gyros haben. Geht nicht sagte der Chef. Platten werden draußen auch nicht serviert weil die Teelichter dort angeblich immer ausgehen. Sowas hab ich auch noch nicht gehört! Naja und wir wurden auch nicht gefragt ob wir noch was trinken möchten. Das Essen war soweit ok.

Ist eines unserer stammlokale. Imm gerne, zwar teurer geworden aber reichlich.

Kleine Gaststätte, Service war etwas träge. Wir mussten ca 30 min warten bis unser Essen kam. Speisekarte nicht ganz schlüssig.

Leider wurde kein Uzo von der etwas unmotivierten Bedienung angeboten. Essen ansonsten PLV ganz ok.

Leckeres griechisches Essen. Außen- und Innenbereich

Sehr sehr leckere Platten. Ich könnte mich jedes Mal aufs neue in diese mega leckeren Cremes reinlegen. Vor allem die Auberginen und Kartoffelcreme sind richtig richtig gut. Wir hatten eine Grillplatte für 2 Personen, die wirklich sehr sehr reichhaltig und abwechslungsreich war. Das Essen ist wirklich nur zu empfehlen!

Eine süßes kleines Restaurant angeliedert an einen Fußballverein. Das Interieur ist rustikal und gepflegt. Die Auswahl begrenzt aus rein übliche griechische Spezialitäten , diese sind aber in der anrichtung und geschmacklich absolut empfehlenswert! Preislich absolut in der Norm.

Das erste mal da gewesen. Einrichtung für eine Sportgaststätte hübsch gemacht, so griechisch wie es geht. Der Wirt ist ein ruhiger aber netter, das Essen ist wirklich spitze! Stifado sehr lecker und nicht überall zu bekommen. Das Souvlaki gut gebraten und nicht zu trocken, die Knoblauchkartoffeln und der Salat ebenfalls sehr lecker. Einzig die Auswahl an den versch. Platten ist etwas dürftig, vor allem weil überall Kalamaris und Tarama-Salat dabei ist. Wenn man keinen Fisch mag wird es dünn ;) Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder, weiter so :)

Für mich einer der besten Griechen :) es wird alles frisch zubereitet, ich finde Salat und Gemüse richtig gut, auch die Calamaris sind super

War in Ordnung, aber ich werde nicht bewusst noch mal hingehen. Einrichtung kahl, Speisen ok. Nicht einmal die Leuchtreklame war an, wir mussten den Eingang erst suchen. Parkplatz schlecht beleuchtet

Nach mehreren Besuchen muss man die sehr gute Küche loben! Der Souvlaki - Spiess hat es uns dabei besonders angetan, innen rosa zart und außen knusprig, so wie man es sich wünscht, perfekt. Zudem ein griechisches Restaurant, daß sehr gut ohne Gipstorsi, Plastikamphoren und das übliche Getue auskommt. Hier erinnert alles an Griechenland, wie es wirklich ist, nüchtern, freundlich und angenehm. Unbedingt empfehlenswert!

Super Bin öfter da und vollkommen Zufrieden. Maria mach weiter so.

Wir saßen draußen, da ist das Ambiente nicht wirklich einladend. Auch hätten wir uns etwas mehr Freundlichkeit gewünscht. Es hat uns im Endeffekt nicht zum Verweilen eingeladen. Das Essen war gut, keine Beanstandung.
