Taumi Aachen - Asia Fusion in Aachen

My family visited Taumi on the recommendation of a friend, and it was exactly as he said. The food was delicious, and the drinks, in particular, were exceptional and beautifully decorated. My family tried all the Vietnamese drinks. Not only did my two children love them, but my parents were also very pleased. Although the restaurant was quite busy, the drinks were still beautiful and carefully decorated. I will definitely come back for my daughter's birthday 🍣🍹🍹🍹🍹

The food was very good, but the service afterwards was unacceptable. We tried to pay with a Taumi voucher. This was declined because the Aachen location is supposedly not part of the Taumi chain. With the same name and logo, this is unfortunately not recognizable to the customer. The waiter told us that we should have noticed the difference based on the different VAT identification numbers on the website... Of course, they check. This is all the more incomprehensible given that the Aachen location is even marked on the voucher. It's a shame about the really excellent food, but for us, it was our last visit.

We arrived shortly before the restaurant's kitchen closed and were able to get something to eat. The staff was very friendly and, right before closing time, went out of their way to accommodate our guests! The food arrived very quickly and was delicious. The restaurant is in a quiet location, and the ambiance is also pleasant. Highly recommended!

The service was good at first. We got a table quickly. There's a wide selection of food. We ordered two steaks: one rare, one well done. When they arrived, neither was well done, and the difference was minimal. The person who ordered the rare steak also got the one that was more well done. The food was not cleared quickly afterward. The ambiance is nice, but the music bothered me. It could have been a bit more upbeat. My sushi was very good.

If I could, I'd give it more stars. A fantastic restaurant for Asian, including Japanese, cuisine, which I recommend to anyone. I can't speak for the other locations, but this one is amazing. I've been a regular at this restaurant for a long time and have always happily recommended it because of the good food. Unfortunately, my impression changed completely during my visit today. The pho I ordered was a huge disappointment: The rice noodles were completely overcooked – far too soft, brittle, and so short that they were barely recognizable as noodles. They disintegrated in the soup and were very difficult to pick up. When I mentioned this to the waiter, I was simply told, without any apology, that it was "the supplier's fault" and "not their fault." At first, I accepted the explanation, but as I ate, it became increasingly unpleasant – and the longer I thought about it, the less I could accept this quality. When I was paying, I brought up the problem again. Again, they denied any responsibility. There was neither an apology nor any concession – instead, they even accused me of "just asking for a new bowl." When I paid, he took the card directly from my hand – a move I consider to be overstepping the mark. I believe a responsible chef shouldn't have served such a dish in the first place – especially not at a price of €16.50. The quality and service were completely out of proportion to the price. I found the staff's behavior cold, rude, and arrogant. That's not how you treat long-standing customers. I will avoid this restaurant in the future.

The restrooms were good, but the food was expensive. Better to get some J. There were no trash cans in the women's restrooms either, which is ridiculous considering the prices. What am I supposed to do if my uterus explodes?

About an hour after eating, I felt severely dizzy. Shortly afterward, I felt quite nauseous and vomited several times. I clearly believe these symptoms are due to the food I ate in the restaurant, which unfortunately makes me doubt the hygiene situation.

A little insider tip in Aachen: Taumi. Really good fusion cuisine, not overly fancy, but simply delicious and relaxed. I've been there a few times with friends. Perfect for a little escape from everyday life.

Drinks are better than the food.

We made a reservation for a Sunday evening, but it wasn't necessary. The service, food, and price were all very good. The atmosphere was cozy. It was very clean, and the staff were friendly. Since it was very quiet, we didn't have to wait long for our sushi.

Four of us went there for sushi today. Very nice service, friendly, attentive, and helpful. Very tasty sushi, exceptionally well-presented. The two of us each chose a combination (Robu Invasion) and were quite full. It's nice to sit outside, a bit off the beaten track, and watch the action. We all enjoyed it and would gladly come back.

On a sunny day, I decided to try out a few restaurants that had received high reviews, and TauMi was my third stop. The restaurant is stylishly decorated, with a classic, elegant ambiance and Asian cuisine. The food was good, but I was absolutely thrilled with the drinks: incredibly aromatic, perfectly balanced, and prepared with love. You can truly taste the quality and creativity in every sip. A big compliment also to the waiter with glasses: he was very friendly, gave attentive advice, and made the visit even more pleasant. I really enjoyed my visit and will definitely come back. Highly recommended, especially if you value good drinks and friendly service!

Very good. The staff were very friendly and gave us helpful advice, and they recommended a suitable portion size and drinks. These drinks are a little special for us, but they truly live up to everyone's praise – I really like them. Our relaxing weekend was perfect.

The mango duck and mochi were very good. Compared to the first visit, this time there were more fresh fruits and the decoration was more attractive. It's definitely worth the price.

I used to come for the sushi, now mostly for the drinks! Yesterday I tried the coffee with coconut milk and the peach tea, super tasty and beautifully presented. I've been to this restaurant several times and I've always enjoyed the sushi. However, on my last visit I ordered the T-Bone Steak. Unfortunately it was very well done and when I asked I was not provided with a steak knife. The steak was therefore difficult to cut and some had to be eaten by hand. It's a shame because the restaurant has potential otherwise, but the quality of service spoils the overall impression. Every time the plate was cleared, the cutlery was also removed and I only got new cutlery when I asked. Unfortunately, the soft drinks were significantly diluted on every visit and I only received an undiluted Fanta when I asked. As a result, colleagues obviously started talking about us. Since a normal Fanta costs €4.90, I don't see the point of settling for a diluted one. The beer also seemed diluted and possibly stale as it was shared among several guests and was probably left open for a long time. The ambience of the restaurant itself is very nice, but the service leaves something to be desired and spoils the overall experience. However, I still like to get the sushi there.

Today was my second time eating at Taumi, as I really enjoyed it the first time. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case today. I ordered the same dish as six months ago: curry with chicken. The meat was inedible. My companion felt the same. We informed the waiter when he was clearing the table; he hadn't been seen before then. The restaurant offered no apology, no discount, or compensation for the drink. That was my last visit there.

Really nicely decorated, cozy restaurant. Super nice and friendly service! The menu is quite interesting, a colorful mix of Asian fusion cuisine - although the focus is probably on Vietnamese cuisine - at least there are a lot of Vietnamese elements. I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical about the sushi at first. But was pleasantly surprised. Both the classics and the more unusual Tempura Sushi variants. For my taste there might be a little more tuna and less salmon - but that's more of a personal preference. I can definitely recommend the large sushi platter (Kamasutra)! Even though it is actually intended for two people, if you have the right appetite you can treat yourself to it alone - but then there was no room for dessert - haha. But the Vietnamese bun was also really delicious! We'll definitely come back again!

We were here for the first time today and we really enjoyed the food. Unfortunately it was very cold in the restaurant, we and other guests sat there with their winter jackets. An employee tried to explain to us that the heating came from the Kaufhof, but unfortunately it seemed to us as if it had completely failed. That was a shame and we left straight after eating because we were cold.

The food and service was great as always, but it was freezing cold in the restaurant. It can't be that I have to put on ski underwear before I go out to eat at Taumi.

Reserved for three people on a Wednesday evening. What struck us when we walked in was that it was freezing cold in the restaurant. We can't tell whether the heating was broken or not on at all, only that the jackets at the next table remained on. But now to the actual point: It was not possible to change the dish when the order was placed. I didn't think it was particularly businesslike, but it was ok. The food was then freshly prepared and overall was beautifully presented and mostly tasty. However, I had a dish that could have been a little spicier for me and here it comes: the owner seriously wanted €1.50 for some chili paste or other spiciness. So there is no need to add seasoning. Soy sauce was available in abundance and free of charge, probably because salty things make you thirsty. I've never experienced anything like this before and have avoided it. For me the last visit to Taumi...if you like boring Asian...have fun and dress warmly...

Trotz frühzeitiger Reservierung und noch freier Tische konnten wir nur den Tisch an der Eingangstür bekommen. Wir haben daraufhin im Restaurant storniert und sind enttäuscht gegangen, dem Krllner war das völlig egal. Gottseidank gibt es genügend Restaurants in unmittelbarer Nähe. Das ging auch ohne Reservierung problemlos.

Food was okay, not special. Visually very nicely presented, but the taste was rather a flop. Extra requests were taken into account and confirmed, but unfortunately were not implemented during the meal. The service was also just mediocre. And it was very cold where we sat by the window. The cold air from the entrance passed there. We hurried to eat so we could leave as quickly as possible.

Very tasty and high quality food in a pleasant atmosphere. I think it's absolutely justified and fair to spend a few euros more sometimes. In the evenings it would be advisable to reserve in advance, but at lunchtime it shouldn't be a problem to show up spontaneously and treat yourself to the inexpensive lunch menu.

Beautifully decorated for Christmas. Only a certain waitress was allowed to serve us and she hardly came to see us. Even if we spoke to others. The food was very spicy. Although I didn't order spicy, there were chili peppers in the salad.

Wir sind leider mehr als enttäuscht. Vorab: Noch nie so schlechtes und dazu noch überteuertes Sushi gegessen. Service ignoriert uns zunächst. Vorab reserviert , haben wir einen Tischwechsel vom zugewiesenen Wandminitisch zu einem Fensterplatz gemacht, welcher kurz zuvor frei wurde. Tisch wurde dann nach den erste 5 min. warten endlich freigeräumt und großzügig nass (um die Deko herum) gewischt und sich dem eigenen Trocknen überlassen. Aber noch keine Service in Sicht. Irgendwann nach weiteren 10-15 min wurde dann die karte gereicht. Getränkebestellung wurde nicht abgefragt. Man will hier nichts verdienen. Nach weiteren 15-20 min. konnten wir nun aber dann endlich ordern. Leider sehr unflexibel in Zusammenstellungen (System-Gastro halt). Wohlgemerkt war zu diesem Zeitpunkt noch nicht viel los. Essen (Sushi: Maki, ein Mix Sashimi und Maki , Tempura, Seetangsalat etc. ) . Anrichten bei Weitem nicht wie auf Bildern auf der Webpräsenz suggeriert, eher lieblos angerichtet. Dann die herbe Enttäuschung . Ohne Geschmack , Tempura nur lauwarm (scheint ein zweites Mal aufgewärmt), Maki schmeckt nichtssagend. Das weit überteuerte Maki-Set mit Garnelen und Füllung schmeckte ebenso nicht (trocken und nichts sagend und alles andere als frisch). Zu guter Letzt 3 mal zum Zahlen gefragt, sage und schreibe 45 min warten müssen (mit drei Anläufen) bis dann kund getan wird, dass Kartenzahlung nicht geht, obwohl das Internetproblem seit vor 6 Stunden ( 17:00 am Tag) bekannt war und anscheinet bei FB gepostet wurde , wird man nicht darauf aufmerksam gemacht zu Beginn, sondern aufgefordert, Geld zu holen. Zu schlechter Letzt ist es laut wie in einer Bahnhofsvorhalle, kalt, Stühle ungemütlich und für den zu hohen Tisch nicht passend. Vielen Gästen um uns herum erging es ähnlich, weit über eine halbe Std. warten müssen um erst einmal ein Getränk zu ordern um es evtl. nach einer Std. zu erhalten, geschweige denn vom Essen zu sprechen. Kurzum: Essen miserabel und keineswegs diesem überteuertem Niveau wert. Service unfähig, überfordert und in keiner weise koordiniert. Das hat dann sehr wenig mit Systemgastromomie zu tun. Nie wieder und nach meiner persönlichen Meinung nicht zu empfehlen. PS: Untragbar war, dass eine Sosse geliefert wurde, welche nicht bestellt , war, beim Nachfragen wurde erst verneint, dass eine andere korrekterweise dazugehört. Es wurde in der Küche nachgehört und nach Nachlesen in eigener Karte dann die korrekte Soße nachgeliefert. Aber: die vorab die schon gelieferte Soße wurde zunächst mit Nachfrage, ob man diese "benutzt" hat, zurückgenommen. Wohl dem, der diese danach bekommen hat. Ein absolutes "NoGo".

Unfortunately we are more than disappointed. First of all: I have never eaten such bad and overpriced sushi. Service initially ignores us. Reserved in advance, we changed the table from the assigned wall mini table to a window seat, which had recently become available. After the first 5 minutes of waiting, the table was finally cleared and generously wiped wet (around the decorations) and left to dry itself. But still no service in sight. At some point after another 10-15 minutes the card was handed out. Drink order was not requested. You don't want to earn anything here. After another 15-20 minutes we were finally able to order. Unfortunately very inflexible in combinations (system catering). Mind you, there wasn't much going on at that point. Food (sushi: maki, a mix of sashimi and maki, tempura, seaweed salad etc.). Arrangement is nowhere near as suggested in the pictures on the website, rather carelessly arranged. Then the bitter disappointment. No taste, tempura only lukewarm (seems to have been warmed up a second time), maki tastes nothing. The far overpriced maki set with shrimp and filling also didn't taste good (dry and meaningless and anything but fresh). Last but not least, I was asked to pay 3 times and had to wait a whopping 45 minutes (with three attempts) until it was announced that card payment was not possible, even though the internet problem had been known and appeared to be 6 hours ago (5 p.m. that day). was posted on FB, you are not made aware of it at the beginning, but are asked to get money. Last but not least, it is loud like a train station lobby, cold, chairs uncomfortable and not suitable for the table that is too high. Many guests around us had a similar experience, having to wait well over half an hour to order a drink and possibly receive it after an hour, let alone talk about the food. In short: food is miserable and not at all worth this overpriced level. Service inept, overwhelmed and not coordinated in any way. This has very little to do with systemic gastromomy. Never again and in my personal opinion not recommended. The reality presented to me has nothing to do with the marketing-heavy web presence with great images. PS: What was unacceptable was that a sauce was delivered that was not ordered; when I asked, it was initially denied that another sauce was correctly included. We listened in the kitchen and, after reading our own menu, the correct sauce was delivered. But: the sauce that had already been delivered was initially taken back when we asked whether we had “used” it. Blessed is whoever received it afterwards. An absolute “NoGo”.

Were here on Monday afternoon for lunch. My companion had sushi and wasn't impressed. The sushi rice wouldn't be good at all. I had breaded chicken with peanut sauce, vegetables and rice. The chicken was slightly undercooked and the vegetables were almost overcooked. The sauce barely tasted like anything and the rice was also bland. I have no idea where this high rating comes from. For us it was a failure.

We ate at Taumi Aachen this evening and absolutely loved it! The restaurant is beautiful and cozy with great Christmas decorations that create a wonderful atmosphere. The dishes were not only incredibly tasty, but also visually very appealing. Taumi is our absolute favorite for relaxed weekends. 🥰 A little tip: make a reservation in advance as it can be quite busy at peak times. Very uncomfortable - it was really cold, no heating on. The food didn't look anything like it did on the menu. The starter for 2 is a joke - for €16 a rip off. The mango sauce was sweet, the duck was tough. The udon noodles - just some fried udon with tasteless shrimp, we'll never go there again and it's a mystery to me why this place was full. We've been to Asia many times, yes, but that's worse than an Asian delivery service.

Everything was great with the lunch menu for €20 and 22 pieces of sushi. Mini appetizer included. Everything was very tasty!

We have been customers there since the beginning and come there regularly. We also held my company Christmas party there with 18 people. Unfortunately, the service is now a real disaster. We received a voucher and couldn't redeem it while eating. That was the last time! A good and loyal customer lost with this promotion!

We also went to this beautiful and service-oriented restaurant for our Aachen girls' weekend. Not only was the service very good and quick, we enjoyed delicious and fresh food at a great price/performance ratio. We can only recommend that.

We ate sushi and Japanese udon noodles and both were very tasty. The sauce on the noodles was really extremely tasty, but for the price the sushi wasn't any better than in cheaper restaurants. The service was nice and the food came very quickly.

Great cuisine, fresh food, great service and the ambience is nice too. A good Asian restaurant at the Eilsengalerie. The only drawback is that, in contrast to the buffet restaurants with all-you-eat, you need a starter to be full. I had spring rolls as a starter and duck as a main course for around €28, plus drinks = €50 and I wasn't really full. For €35 I can eat and drink as much as I want somewhere else. But everything is great here every now and then.

If you live in Aachen and love Asian cuisine, then you should definitely visit this restaurant. Very beautiful interior. The menu and service are also excellent. We were pleased. Be sure to order one of their soups as an aperitif. And, sushi, of course.

Taumi is an Asian chain. Here you will find delicious food and friendly service. Unfortunately there were different spring rolls here than we are used to at Taumi, which is why only 4 stars. In Aachen it is best to reserve a table in the evening.

Place seems nice and the food was great. To bad that my plate was damaged. There was no music at all, possible that they had some technical problems. At 21:30 staff began cleaning up tables and at 21:50 everyone had to pay. Place had like full 6 tables where people were still eating. This and lack of background music really ruined the atmosphere. Food was great tho.

We had summer rolls and Pho Bo as starters and then shared a sushi platter between us. The pho and sushi were VERY tasty, the summer rolls were okay. Of course it wasn't super cheap, but the quality was noticeable. And we each had several drinks, an appetizer, a sushi platter and dessert. It was justified for that. The waiters were very attentive and friendly and the food came at exactly the right time so we never had to wait too long. We were very satisfied and would love to come back!
