Taste of India in Detmold

Food and service were excellent. Absolutely recommended if you like the flavors of India. I'll definitely come back.

The food was super tasty and very authentic! It's also nice that there are lots of vegetarian options and you don't really know what to try next on the menu because a lot of it sounds very good. The atmosphere and restaurant furnishings were also extremely nice. Added to this is the beautifully central location in downtown Detmold. Unfortunately, a small drawback on my last visit was that I found that there wasn't enough rice served with the meal. The two of us shared a small bowl, which in my case was a bit small because I only had 3 small vegetable balls with an extremely tasty sauce. I would wish that you were served more rice with it, especially because it wouldn't cost much more and you could be sure that you would definitely be full. Apart from that, an all-round successful visit!

I had lamb, that was okay too, nothing more, but it was rich and you'll definitely be full. And I think the prices are pretty cheap. But the service was tried hard, but a bit indisposed and confused. Drink collection and delivery took what felt like hours. I would have liked to have consumed more than one drink. So I'm not sure, maybe I'll have to go again another day.

My first visit there will definitely not be the last. Everything is great.

Discovered Taste of India by the Singh Family while on holiday from the Netherlands last September. We were very impressed with the atmosphere and the delicious smells of the food. We have eaten a lot of Indian food before, but this really took the cake for me 👑 We enjoyed it so much that we went to Taste of India again especially yesterday. Just as we remembered, DELICIOUS! When we are back in Germany, we will happily eat with the Singh family again! Then yavad! Phir milege!

The food was okay, I've eaten Indian food many times. Unfortunately our place was very close to the toilets in a corner, but the worst thing was the service. After we had just finished eating and received our second drink, we were told that we could soon clear the table. We were all shocked to hear something like that. We didn't expect a time limit, we were there for just 1 1/2 hours. We won't come back.

It was my first time eating Indian food and I absolutely loved it. Luckily the two of us got a place on weekday evenings, otherwise it was fully booked. The menu is extensive and I didn't know a lot of it, which is why I asked my companion to recommend something. The chicken in sauce was terrific and so was the bread with it. The service staff were incredibly friendly and quick. I'd love to come back!

This is the most authentic food and place I have been to in three different countries and nothing compares to Taste Of India. The family that owns and runs the business are extremely hard workers, professional, and a pleasure to know. The food is consistently good, fresh, and they have of huge variety of entrées on the menu. The atmosphere is culturally authentic and very comfortable.

I used Taste of India Detmold's delivery service for the first time several weeks ago. The food was okay, but needed more seasoning and couldn't quite reach the level of taste that I usually get from Indian restaurants. Unfortunately, the delivery date could not be fully met because the driver could not find the delivery location. Otherwise the food is ok. It's also good that there is a large vegan selection

Went for dinner for the first time on a Friday, unexpectedly full, but booked a table via WhatsApp. Nice welcome, extensive menu, delicious food at fair prices. Not the last time there

Very tastefull. Everything is available, from normally seasoned to really very spicy. The portion size could be a little larger, because just eating rice doesn't make sense. The cocktails are very good and reasonably priced.

We had reserved an isch and were received very friendly. The menu labels the dishes according to their spiciness. The food was very good, sufficient in quantity and the price-performance ratio was reasonable. Definitely a good recommendation

Fantastic food and a lovely restaurant. You have to be patient as the food is freshly prepared - but the wait was definitely worth it! I'm currently sitting at Taste of India and we really enjoyed the food, the ambience and the very, very friendly, courteous and attentive service. The food is fully tailored to the European palate. All reviewers who complain about a lack of sharpness are recommended to read the card. Anyone who can read has a clear advantage. In the welcome, different levels of spiciness are expressly pointed out and at the same time you are invited to individually discuss special requests for Indian dishes with the appropriate level of spiciness. We will definitely come back.

I was here for the first time today with my dear friends and ate Indian food for the first time. Everything was super tasty and freshly prepared, and the service was super friendly and always there quickly when you pressed the order cube. The Taste of India is always worth visiting. Four of us ate in the restaurant on a Friday evening and it was full. The atmosphere was really very nice and absolutely appealing. The food was very tasty for everyone and the portion sizes were right. However, the service that day was very disorganized. The naan with extra garlic was billed additionally, even though the naan itself was already included in the menu.

We sat comfortably in the courtyard in the sunshine and treated ourselves to some food. The starters and main courses were very tasty. Just remember that two chili peppers means really hot, which led me to make a mango coconut lassi for dessert. I would highly recommend it.😉🤤👍

We always enjoy coming✨ The only drawback is the parking situation, but that is generally a bit difficult in Detmold. But so far a place has always been found 😁

Food tastes great, greetings to the chef :D I've been there several times and I can report that before, when the shop was new, the service was much more attentive. It comes across as if the employees are reserved, something like that doesn't belong in service for me personally! Very nice service but when there is a lot to do in the restaurant you can tell from the employees straight away. Of course it is normal to have stress in a busy restaurant but you can feel the stress and that should definitely not be the case. Otherwise always delicious, especially slightly spicy dishes :):

Incredibly great food, the quality is simply TOP, I haven't experienced such great quality when eating out for a long time. Perfectly seasoned dishes, meat dishes prepared to perfection! The service is very friendly and the atmosphere is really nice! You feel comfortable there. The selection of dishes is very extensive. After the first visit, I was there again one evening later and will definitely go there again!

Very good restaurant in Detmold with friendly staff and delicious food. The concept with the service cubes is very pleasant. Unfortunately a star deduction for "food" and overall, as drinks sometimes consist mainly of ice. Savings are being made at the wrong point here, especially with cocktail prices of €8.
