TAO Bar & Restaurant in Bonn

Not a client friendly place. Apparently when you're just one person you have to sit at the smallest table even when the entire (!) place is empty

I find it overpriced and not justified by the price/performance ratio. Service was rather poor and there was only one place to pay in the restaurant. This all takes a very long time

A pretty decent bar/restaurant. Unfortunately, there is no children's corner, which makes staying with children difficult. The food is rather average, but the portions are very small, while the prices are well above average. There is no printed menu – you need a cell phone to scan the QR code, which is inconvenient for children. I ordered fried chicken strips with ginger & spring onion. Unfortunately, there was very little chicken in the portion - mostly regular onions. There was some leek, but very little compared to the amount of onions. Overall the place seems a bit cold and soulless.

Excellent food and nice ambience

Delicious Asian and Central European dishes of high quality at reasonable prices. I enjoy coming to the restaurant regularly. Seasonally there are also changing dishes - such as asparagus in different variations.

A very luxurious and upscale restaurant that is worth a visit

The restaurant is very nicely decorated. The atmosphere is very nice and you feel comfortable. Everything is very clean, tidy and tidy. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Regardless of whether you are at the bar for something to eat or just for a drink, you will be served in a friendly and polite manner. The food is very tasty, the portions are sufficient and the price is absolutely reasonable. Even when the restaurant is full, the food is served very quickly. The toilets are also very clean and tidy. The TAO is always worth a visit. But you should make a reservation as it is usually very busy, especially on weekends.

We were there with a group of 7 people (reserved). The food is fantastic, from Asian to schnitzel, steak and sepia pasta - everything is perfect. Starters very tasty, desserts great, cocktails great, service very attentive. Thank you very much. Everyone was very satisfied

How were they a birthday dinner on site. A candle on the table greeted us. The restaurant was full. Nevertheless, the employees had a smile on their faces. The food took a while. Which wasn't bad. You just have to plan for it. . Our dishes were very good across the board. Portions were also sufficient. For dessert there was the foam biscuit and Kaiserschmarrn. Wonderfully delicious. We would love to come back.

It was really nice. The ambience, food and overall service was top, thank you very much. One star deducted because there was way too much oil in my main dish (pulpo & prawns). But it's not that bad, we will always be happy to come back and definitely recommend it.

Personally, I can't recommend the store. The food is run of the mill, looks good but tastes like in a snack bar. In addition, it is little and, in my opinion, overpriced.

The large selection of starters alone usually leaves us almost full! But even for those who don't like Asian food, there is schnitzel, for example! Super good! We were there with almost 55 people and had perfect service, very good drinks, selected dishes from starters to dessert that made our Christmas dinner perfect! 💪🏼🫶🏼 Thank you for a great evening! Surprisingly good cuisine in the remote location in the ministry area. I don't like digital menus. Food was very tasty.

Very good menu, modern atmosphere and attentive service

We have been coming back for years to this somewhat “different” restaurant with pan-Asian cuisine and an extraordinary ambience. The service is very professional and attentive, we had nice service. Unfortunately, my Tom Kha Gai soup was quite "thin" (watery) and apart from the small chicken skewer there were only three pieces of celery or something similar in it. Therefore one point deducted. But the Ha Kau starter was - as always - very tasty. I also really enjoyed the homemade iced tea with mint and the non-alcoholic cocktail Ipanema.

I was here for a company party and was blown away. The service was great at the beginning and unfortunately no longer friendly later on. The food that was available was delicious and exceptional.

After a very long wait for the food, it wasn't particularly good either. Unfortunately it lacks authenticity and does not do justice to Asian cuisine. The service was very friendly and attentive and apologized for the very long wait!

The service was great. Unfortunately it is always a bit noisy, but the food is also very good. It was my father's birthday and I asked for a little surprise. 5 minutes later we got a blueberry muffin with chocolate chips and a very nice decoration with a sparkler. It was wonderful and tasted very good too. Highly recommended!

Good Asian food interestingly combined, but tastes really good. The price is okay for the quality. You should book a table in advance because the restaurant is always very busy. The service is good and friendly. The restaurant is worth a visit.

It's nice to sit outside, but it's a bit noisy because of the street. Otherwise a bit strange menu... Wiener Schnitzel and pasta with pesto is not that suitable in my opinion. I ate ramen, which was okay, but €17 is pretty steep. Service was good and quick.

Unfortunately, no impression possible ... dog-unfriendly or dogs are not allowed in the restaurant, only on the terrace! 😤🐶 You should at least mention it on the homepage!

Very well run restaurant with friendly staff, good selection of wines and fantastic dishes. We really enjoyed the starter and main course.

My wife and I visited Tao again. We had a very nice evening, had an excellent meal, received friendly and courteous service and will definitely be back. I can highly recommend TAO!

I would have liked to reserve a table for 8 people for a meal. After the second phone call I was told I had to confirm the whole thing via Quandoo. Unfortunately, this didn't work for Quandoo for technical reasons! After I responded again by phone, I was told I had to fill out a form and return it via email...I still haven't received the email. Conclusion: after a friendly 30 second phone call, my assistant made a reservation in Bärengasse. P.s As Philippe Haussener once said in an NZZ interview: Restaurant goers are less forgiving of mistakes these days.

Interessantes Panasia-Restaurant mit gehobenem Preisniveau. Sehr viele grosse Gästegruppen strapazieren den Service. Essen gut, kreative Gerichte, Geräuschpegel hoch, Stimmung gut. Nachteil: Die Speise- und Getränkekarte ist digital. Ansonsten ein Lichtblick im Ministeriumsviertel am Abend.

Meine Ente war leider geschmacklich wie die typische Thai-Imbissente. Der unmittelbar nach Verzehr folgende Durchfall hat mein Restauranterlebnis leider nicht besser werden lassen. Dafür 25 Euro auszurufen ist schon sportlich. Das Ambiente und der Service waren jedoch gut, ein sehr modernes, schickes Restaurant.

Gemischt-Asiatisches Buffet von sehr hoher Qualität. Nicht so stark gesalzen oder in Sojasoße ertränkt, wie man es in manchen anderen Restaurants gelegentlich erlebt. Auch unsere Erfahrungen beim Essen im Tao a la Carte waren immer positiv.

Nice variety of cocktails. The noodles with shrimp were okay, I wish they had a more "shrimpy" flavor to them (more blended flavors). The cheesecake is one of the best I've ever had (and I've had quite a few). Some feedback to the restaurant - it felt rather odd eating with single-use chopsticks while being in a relatively fancy restaurant.

Essen und Service sind immer topp.

Essen mittelmäßig. Lauwarm, kleine Portionen, spärlich gewürzt. Eher teurer. Kühle Atmosphäre, wenig gemütlich. Hat mich nicht überzeugt. Gut ist, dass zu vielen Gerichten Fleisch als extra Zugabe bestellbar ist, so dass Vegetarier und z.T. auch Veganer eine große Auswahl haben.

Absolutes Erlebnis und empfehlenswert! Wir waren mit Freunden zum Abendessen. Die Onlinekarte ist hervorragend gelöst, so dass durch gezielte Filtersetzung die vegetarischen Gerichte angezeigt werden. Bedienung war sehr freundlich und professionell! Das Essen hat uns allen bis zum letzten Bissen geschmeckt! Das Schokotörtchen mit dem Vanilleis war himmlisch, hat mich irgendwie an meine Kindheit erinnert. Den Stern Abzug gibt es, da die sanitären Anlagen nicht zum Restaurant passen. Leider war die Klohalterung kaputt und es war eiskalt. Trotzdem kommen wir aufjedenfall wieder, da das Ambiente gemütlich ist und die Speisen köstlich. Die Party am ersten Freitag im Monat reizt uns auch, werden wir ausprobieren. Vielen Dank für den tollen Abend!

Lecker! Die Portionen so groß, dass wir kaum Vorspeise und Hauptgericht schaffen konnten. Sehr gute Tom Ka Gai- Suppe! Es war am Donnerstag Abend voll und daher auch etwas zu laut für unseren Geschmack

Tolles Restaurant- die Ente war genial - knusprig mit wenig Fettanteilen - geschmacklich toll. Auch vegane Gerichte im Angebot.

Zur Party hin und recht schnell wieder weg.... nicht mehr so wie es mal war....

Wow! Was für eine mega coole Lokation! Vom Chef persönlich begrüßt worden. Essen ist einfach der Hammer! Wahnsinns Stimmung und Party!!! Absolut 5/5!!!

Wir waren Freitags abends dort. Nachdem wir an der Security (wofür?) vorbei waren und nach einigen verwirrenden Minuten unsere Reservierung gefunden war, wurden wir an unseren Tisch geführt. Wir würden dann auch gleich von der Lautstärke erschlagen. Das war schlimmer als in einer Bundeswehr Kantine. An einer Unterhaltung war nicht zu denken. Wir haben es dann wie einige andere gemacht und sind dann mit dem Rauchern nach draußen gegangen. Dort konnte man sich bis das Essen kam ein wenig unterhalten. Und wer kam auf die dumme Idee, die Tische an der Seite der Bank alle zusammen zu schieben. Ca. 6 m lang und durchgehend? Jedesmal wenn jemand von der Bank wohin müsste, wurden die Tische in unsere Richtung gezogen und hatte deswegen dreimal das Gesäß des Nachbarn im Gesicht. Schon bei der Bestellung war für zweien von uns der Spass vorbei, weil man dort gezwungen wird, seine Speisen mittels seinem Smartphone auszuwählen. Nach einer Bemerkung unserer Seite, wurde uns ein sehr schwer lesbarer DIN A4 Ausdruck gegeben . Hier waren lediglich die Speisen schriftlich zusammengefasst. Also müssten wir das Smartphone hin und her reichen. Ich war im März diesen Jahres noch dort. Allerdings Mittags. Da gab es noch Karten mit entsprechenden Fotos. Warum hat man davon keine aufgehoben? Bei der Vorspeise zu dem drei Brötchen gereicht wurden, waren diese hart und trocken. Die Hauptspeisen waren in Ordnung, rechtfertigen aber u.E. nicht den Preis. Nicht lustig und unterhaltsam war auch einer der Servicekräfte, der mit einem Kölsch in der Hand auf und ab ging und dabei ständig " Kölsch" brüllte. Dabei versuchte er noch lauter zu sein als die Gäste. Ich kann mich an kein Restaurant erinnern, aus dem wir so schnell verschwunden sind wie aus diesem. Der letzte Bissen war noch im Mund da haben wir nach der Rechnung gerufen. Unser Eindruck war es, das hier versucht wird einen gewissen Mainstream nachzueifern. Uns gefällt so etwas hat nicht. Sorry Leute, aber wir werden nicht mehr wieder kommen.

Wunderschön beeindruckend und super lecker. Wo soll ich anfangen, was soll ich kaufen? Das Restaurant an sich ist schon wunderschön. Ordentlich sauber der Service schnell, freundlich, und geht auf jeden Extra Wunsch ein. Die Küche zaubert ein Menü, welches in Bonn nicht vergleichbar ist. Wer gut essen gehen möchte, und dazu den besten Riesling der Stadt trinken möchte, ist in diesem Restaurant genau richtig. Nein, diese Rezession ist nicht gekauft. Wer macht sowas? Dieses Restaurant auf jeden Fall nicht. 4-Sterne-Bewertungen kann ich nicht nachvollziehen, es ist wirklich lecker, und man kann hier einen schönen Abend verbringen. Gerne wieder, es wird jetzt mein Stammrestaurant. Danke an Ka-Chu, der die Gäste persönlich begrüßt und das tolle Team, welches jeden Wunsch von den Lippen abließt :)

The space is nice but the food was so nasty I couldn't eat it. Even their so called "A Tao Classic" was the most terrible dish I've everrrr had in a asian restaurant. They claimed it is supposed to have some mango in the Curry but I didn't taste any. I will never go back, the portions are small for the high prices. I DO NOT RECOMMEND

Schönes Restaurant mit einer spannenden und innovativen Küche. Gut organisierter Service und schöne Einrichtung.

Haben auf der Terrasse einen Platz ergattern können, da wir nur auf einen Cocktail vorbei gekommen sind. Tisch reservieren wird empfohlen. Die Atmosphäre ist super, sehr einladend, modern und freundlich. Die Cocktails waren super und für die Größe recht preiswert. Die Nachtische Lasagne war lecker, jedoch fand ich die Präsentation nicht sonderlich ansprechend. Das Sesam Eis war großartig. Preislich insgesamt etwas gehobener aber dennoch empfehlenswert.

Die Atmosphäre in der Bar ist angenehm und die Cocktails sind gut gemixt. Was mir jedoch fehlt, ist die Auswahl an alkoholfreien Getränken und Snacks, um den Nicht-Trinkern gerecht zu werden.

Nettes Lokal mit gutem Essen und sehr guten Service. Leider ist das preisnivoe im gehobenen Bereich. Qualität stimmt aber das war schon nicht ohne. Trotzdem zum empfehlen reservieren ist zu empfehlen,obwohl wir auch zu dritt noch einen Tisch ohne reservieren bekommen haben. Gerne wieder.
