Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with Tante Giulia's last time. After I had my leftover pizza packed up last time, and out of the six olives on the slice, not a single one was left (there was a hole in the cheese where an olive had been; there was also suddenly significantly less arugula), the experience this weekend was even worse. Despite having a reservation and free tables, we were left standing on the side of the road for 20 minutes, with no apology for the wait or anything like that – it felt like, well, if we didn't take the table, someone else would. Unfortunately, we then waited over an hour for our pizza, as did the table next to us. We suspected we'd been forgotten. That can all happen, we're only human, and it was very busy – but a small apology would have been nice. When paying, I pointed out that it was delicious, but it took a very long time this time, to which the response was, "That's just the norm here," as if we should have known that already. In my opinion, that's not the kind of customer service I expect for a rather expensive pizza (€14-19). Unfortunately, I won't be coming to you anymore and can't recommend you in terms of customer service.

A wonderfully sweet restaurant that offers not only traditional Italian cuisine but also deliciously unusual creations. I highly recommend the various pizzas and always enjoy visiting Aunt Giulia. The house lemonades are also highly recommended.

The restaurant was moderately busy on a Monday evening and well staffed. However, we waited 50 minutes for two drinks, which finally arrived along with the pizza. Overall, the service was a disaster. The pizza looked good, but tasted rather bland. We won't be back.

I was extremely disappointed. I reserved an outside table for 13 today. I arrived on time with my parents and my boyfriend, and the table was reserved with the sign. I sat down, and a waitress came immediately. She said that all the outside seats were reserved and that she had said on the phone that outside seats would be available. Lying now won't help, because I can only sit outside with my dad; he has a brain tumor. So if she'd told me it was possible outside, maybe I would have explained it to her.

The food and drinks are actually delicious, if not burnt ;) They didn't even offer a discount or anything to compensate for the €15 price tag. The seating is uncomfortable, and you sit really close together. Getting a table spontaneously is difficult, but if you make a reservation, your seating requests are ignored, and you still have to wait. The staff is generally friendly, but I felt very uncomfortable when all the leftovers from the plates in front of me were shoved onto one plate. They do that on the kitchen counter, right?! It's also significantly louder here than in other restaurants. People are shouting loudly behind the counter, and utensils are clinking happily around the table.

If you like Neapolitan pizza, I definitely recommend it. The pizzas are truly delicious. I recommend making a reservation before going. It usually gets very crowded in the evenings, and unfortunately, it's hard to find a seat.

Really good food. And it's a bit more exotic for Italian cuisine. However, the restaurant is often very busy and the shop is relatively small. However, you can also order takeaway.

We were extremely disappointed! After being seated, we didn't even get a menu, and then, after repeatedly asking the staff, we waited over an hour for our drinks. Everyone who arrived after us was served before us. Despite repeated requests, we didn't get our food either. We were forced to watch the later arrivals eat. We ended up paying for the two most expensive drinks on the menu, of which we only had two sips. We've rarely experienced such unprofessional and unfriendly staff! Never again! Not recommended!

I love the pizza at Tante Giulia; we don't really have any other Neapolitan pizza in Göttingen. The staff is always really friendly, and later on, you can enjoy some great cocktails at the bar. It's always very busy, so it's best to make a reservation. :)

Tante Giulia is a real hit if you're craving really good pizza. The dough? Perfect. The toppings? Fresh, flavorful, not overdone – just as it should be. 🍕 Particularly positive: The food arrives super quickly after ordering, yet nothing seems "hurriedly thrown together" – quality is clearly the focus. The price-performance ratio is slightly above average, but honestly: every euro is worth it. You can taste the love that goes into the cooking here – and I'm happy to pay a little more for that. In conclusion: If you're looking for Italian cuisine in Göttingen, you can't go past Tante Giulia. Delicious pizza, fast service, and an all-around pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Friendly staff The pizza I chose was a good size, very tasty, a bit spicy, and well-topped. The price/performance ratio was completely satisfactory.

The pizza was of good quality and tasted excellent. However, the customer service was some of the worst I've ever received. The wait staff took their casual approach too seriously. Older customers were immediately addressed informally, and many tables were kept waiting, even for minor issues. The wait for a simple espresso was 15 minutes, plus an additional five minutes for the missing sugar, which was still not provided upon request. The lack of cutlery, which had to be provided by other customers, was also a cause for concern. The espresso order was canceled only reluctantly, despite our support. When paying, because no tip was given, the coffee machine was rudely taken from the table, and the waitress left without saying goodbye.

Super delicious food. Unfortunately, the gluten-free items are only available on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

And yes, the food, we had pizza, was absolutely delicious. I haven't had such a good pizza in a long time. Thank you so much for that. And yes, we'll see you again when we're back in Göttingen. This time we'll also make a reservation, which is obviously an advantage.

A friend and I came here for the first time today after hearing nothing but good things. Unfortunately, we were convinced otherwise. We reserved a table for two and were seated at the counter. The table was right next to the sink, and within the five minutes we were there, we were sprayed with dirty dishwater several times because the server apparently didn't feel like doing his job or was simply incompetent. An absolute disgrace.

There can be no talk of so-called Italian pizza! A simple Magarita pizza (tomato/cheese) costs €12. What is called cheese is a rubbery mass that hardly tastes like cheese! The same goes for the pizza dough, although it has a fluffy consistency but is also rubbery/soft, not on the edges! This reminds me of McDonald's, only as a pizza, which overall is of mediocre quality! The dinner fork is so unstable that the neck bends under relatively low pressure (1€Shop?). All in all, I agree with the 1-2 star reviews and will avoid this place! My money is too good for that!

The ambience is quite nice, there were two of us sitting there, the music was just a bit too loud. In my opinion, the food wasn't enough for the price, the staff was polite but seemed overwhelmed and we had to wait quite a long time.

The service was virtually non-existent: as soon as we arrived we were sat at a table, annoyed, and then only the bare essentials were taken - our order was taken, and that was it. No questions asked for more drinks or whether everything was OK. If you're looking for good food, friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere, you're unfortunately in the wrong place here.

Went to Aunt Giulia's for lunch after a family celebration. Despite prior reservations, no table was available. When we arrived it was said that "basically no reservations will be made". Incomprehensible... After some asking, tables were put together. The food is delicious, but despite the early hour, many dishes were no longer available due to missing ingredients. Very unfortunate.

Absolutely bad and rude service!! We had reserved a table for 11 people by phone two weeks in advance. Since we didn't know the inside space and it was a special occasion, we went back a few days before to look at the seating options. A waitress told us that the tables at the window were reserved for us and also showed us this in her reservation book. But when we got there on the day itself, the tables were already taken and they just said they wouldn't make such reservations. When we then tried to put together tables outside, it was only done reluctantly and in a bad mood. Tables that were far too small were chosen, even though there were large ones available, and we had to wait several times until we were finally seated. There was no apology, no accommodation, nothing, just a bad mood. That's what you call "service"... I'm absolutely speechless! In addition, even though we were there at 12, there was a lot of food out, which shouldn't be the case, and the toilet is an absolute disaster. The toilet seat almost falls off and you have to reach into an open cistern to flush. It doesn't work at all! But hey... the pizza tastes good.

We were there at the beginning of April for dinner after the civil wedding. The bride and groom had called in advance and were there to discuss the reservation. They were promised a table by the window. On the corresponding day the table was not reserved and it was generally said that no tables would be reserved. It was therefore difficult to find a place for a wedding party of 11 people. It was only possible outside in the shade and there were additional unnecessary conversations over two sensible tables. There were a few things wrong with the order and the women's toilet was broken. We had imagined it to be different on this special day.

Unfortunately, the pizza was cold and the crust was really oversized. Too expensive for that.

After the drink we ordered didn't come and we spoke to the waitress, the only answer was "your time is up anyway, you've had the table for 2 hours. Drink up, the next guests are already waiting on the side of the road"! We reserved the table by email; neither there nor on the homepage said anything about 2 hours! Guests who were obviously friends with the owners and sat there before us stayed there longer. After we paid, our table was cleaned and the 2 chairs were moved somewhere else. The table is not new!

The salad is a ready-made mix, as the employee told us, since we wanted to have it without rocket, this was not possible, the dressing is a matter of taste, but not our case. Pizza is made in the oven, good craftsmanship but tasteless without any kick (I had the Fabrizio with homemade salsiccia for €16).

Great cozy Italian restaurant with a somewhat special menu in Göttingen. Always preferred in pairs or small groups, less suitable for larger groups. In summer there are also nice outdoor spaces in the pedestrian zone.

The pizza was really tasty with fresh ingredients, the dough was amazing. We liked the interior, however it might be a bit uncomfortable if you have to sit at the bar. The service was good, but not excellent, as the waiters might ask you to leave because they need your seats (that were not reserved beforehand). All in all, definitely worth visiting for the great pizza.

It was okay so far, but we were there in the early afternoon and there was only pizza left to choose from. There are only three stars for the service because we were specifically seated in a completely empty restaurant so that the two of us didn't occupy a table for four. Impudence! We came in around 6 p.m. today and sat down at the bar and said that we needed some time and wouldn't be ready in an hour. After about 1.5 hours a waiter came up to us and while the shop was suddenly full, there were two of us!!!! Put in front of the door because the place was probably reserved! How can it be that two people who were there before everything else are simply thrown out the door?!?!!?! Absolute impudence, never experienced anything so underground!!! You should be ashamed of yourself!!! Absolutely NOT recommended unless you like being thrown out for no reason even though you were there first!!!!!!😠

After the 4th attempt we finally got a table and were able to eat here. Otherwise always fully booked, even with reservation requests. Food was delicious, crispy and hot. I don't really understand why a pizza has to cost €16, but at least it tasted good. At first glance, the interior design looks very hip, but if you take a closer look, you can see chipped corners, broken wallpaper and dirty seat cushions on the window front. It wasn't busy during the week or at lunchtime, so we were happy with the service. Food was quick, service was attentive. all in all 4/5 stars

My partner and I came here for a spot to eat one evening in the summer. We were not disappointed. The waitress quickly helped us find a table on what was a very busy evening (I would recommend booking in advance) and we enjoyed a cocktail and pizza each in the evening sunshine. Personally I would visit in the summer as they have plenty of outdoor seating.

Sorry, I was eating in this restaurant with four people at lunchtime on December 22nd, 2024. Unfortunately, the issue of hygiene is not taken very seriously by the employees. On the one hand, the toilet was not particularly clean, and after being told that there was no toilet paper, a roll of toilet paper was provided after ten minutes (?). There were two long hairs in a pizza. How they get there is a mystery to me. I know that hoods MUST be worn when making food. Since the hair was in the covering, it probably didn't slip in during service. The last point is that the restaurant is not really clean inside. This is also the disadvantage when there is a lot of decoration hanging on the walls. Wandering spider included. The pizzas are really good, with great toppings - but that doesn't help at the end of the day. You can't do without hygiene...

Drinks too expensive and not good (Aperol watery, espresso not good and cappuccino not just hot milk, taste so-so), spritzer and soda were good. Pizza was ok, but also really expensive and one unfortunately burned

We reserved a table for 9 people more than 2 months in advance, which was then given to a group that spontaneously dropped by. A muscular cellar was quite unfriendly to us and initially questioned our reservation. After about 20 minutes of waiting, we were directed to the felleni restaurant. Mistakes happen, but this kind of behavior is really not appropriate.

The food here is actually always very tasty. The ambience is mostly nice, just a bit cramped and loud. Unfortunately, today was the second time that we were turned away despite having a reservation. We had reserved a table for 9 people for this evening 2.5 months ago because we were planning a celebration. When we arrived at the restaurant on time, we were first asked to wait. After waiting for 20 minutes, we were informed that our table had unfortunately been given away to spontaneously arriving guests about 15 minutes before our arrival and that there was now no space left. We were referred to the partner restaurant Fellini. We had a wonderful evening there with delicious food, friendly staff and a great atmosphere. I would recommend skipping the reservation at Tante Giulia and just going straight to Fellini.

Where can you hang out comfortably on a Sunday afternoon in Göttingen? A quite interesting option is the pizzeria bar “Aunt Giulia”. The place is suitable for hanging out, having a bite to eat or just having a drink because it's open late on Sundays and isn't overly expensive. On the other hand, it is attended by many students, which ensures a certain standard. The interior is based on an Italian contemporary pizzeria for students, so it's pimped up in a vintage and not too stylish way with little money. I believe this target will be met. The restaurant consists of two long rooms, one housing the pizza oven and the other a long bar counter. Clean toilets are also still there. The staff could be mistaken for the audience: young and relaxed, unobtrusive... quite friendly but moderately attentive. And where is Aunt Giulia? No idea! Not seen. Among the drinks, a selection of cocktails and dinners is particularly worth mentioning. A few types of wine are also available in addition to Krombacher draft beer, non-alcoholic bottles and original Italian Birra. Italian coffee specialties are available here, but do not deserve special mention, nor does the entire menu. The pre-made pizzas here are only lightly baked and are edible, but their taste is moderately intense and not spicy. Given the inexpensive ingredients, they aren't exactly cheap either, nor are the drinks. But that's probably how you keep the rush of customers at bay. I found many of the older reviews here too euphoric.

Wo kann man Sonntag Nachmittag in Göttingen gemütlich abhängen? Eine durchaus interessante Option ist die Pizzeria-Bar "Tante Giulia". Das Lokal ist zum Abhängen, ne Kleinigkeit essen oder für einen Drink alleine deshalb geeignet, weil es am Sonntag lange geöffnet und nicht übermäßig teuer ist. Zum anderen wird es von vielen Studentinnen und Studenten besucht, was für beim gewisses Niveau sorgt. Das Interieur ist einer italienischen zeitgenössischen Pizzeria für Studenten nachempfunden, also auf Vintage und nicht allzu stylish mit wenig Geld aufgepimpt. Ich glaube, diese Zielvorgabe wird erfüllt. Das Lokal besteht aus zwei langen Räumen, wobei der eine den Pizzaofen beherbergt und der andere eine lange Bar-Theke. Saubere Toiletten sind auch noch da. Das Personal könnte man mit dem Publikum verwechseln: Jung und locker, unaufdringlich... recht freundlich aber mäßig aufmerksam. Und wo bleibt Tante Giulia? Keine Ahnung! Nicht gesehen. Unter den Getränken ist insbesondere eine Auswahl an Cocktails und Dinks zu erwähnen. Ein paar Sorten Wein sind auch noch verfügbar neben Krombacher Bier vom Fass, und in der Flasche alkoholfrei sowie original italienische Birra. Italienische Kaffeespezialitäten sind hier war vorhanden, verdienen aber keine besondere Erwähnung, genauso wie die gesamte Speisekarte. Die vorgefertigten Pizzen werden hier nur leicht aufgebacken, sind zwar eßbar, aber geschmacklich mäßig intensiv und unwürzig. Angesichts der preiswert gestreckten Zutaten sind sie auch nicht gerade günstig, genauso wenig wie die Getränke. Aber so hält man sich wohl den Kundenansturm vom Hals. Pizza oder Cocktail?

Rarely given 5 stars so clearly. Pizza was perfect, tiramisu was perfect. The service was very nice and the atmosphere was to my liking. I was here today with my eight year old daughter and she is a picky eater. But she enjoyed it so much here that she almost ate an entire pizza and a whole portion of tiramisu. I'm overjoyed.

It is impossible to book from their website. We called them a number of times but no one responded. I am wondering in which century they live in! Use technology please. Once we entered also to book and they were not helpful at all. I complained it is impossible to book online as they don't have such system and when I ranged them a few times no one responded call but the young man did not even apologise. There are better places to go in Göttingen!

Never again! Cleanliness is also an issue for temporary workers and it is one of the basic tasks in gastronomic work! But that's always in the eye of the beholder - I always judge a restaurant by something like that. And then the sentence: we don't have enough staff, unbelievable 🤯 but of course there's enough time to chat at the bar! The ambience would have received 4 stars if it was well maintained! Starting with the seating outside, they also need to be cleaned from time to time! I didn't like the food at all (pizza) apparently the store is just conveniently located for it to be so busy. We have complete incomprehension!!!

I ate there tonight and it was terrible. There was a hair on my pizza!!! It was disgusting but they accepted it and I didn't pay for the pizza but that wasn't enough for such a famous restaurant. It was definitely my last time there.

A nice ambience and the name promises a familiar, friendly atmosphere and actually a bit of handmade food. Some of this may be true, but you also need to know how to prepare food. Unfortunately that wasn't the case here. The ingredients were ok, but it had nothing to do with Italian cuisine. The bruschetta - advertised as containing tomato, garlic and basil - was quite tasteless. There was only a small amount of garlic oil on the bread. You could only add salt and pepper yourself (a bruschetta should be steeped first) and the basil was carelessly placed in the middle of the plate. The squid rings were fried to perfection, which in itself is no art. The accompanying dip was cheap canned sauce. I expected a little more demands on my own kitchen. My companion's pizza was completely burnt from the bottom and the dough was not cooked through. The oven was probably set incorrectly. This was just as carelessly prepared. Food - especially with an Italian restaurant - should have a higher priority. Let's move on to "service". The waiting time to place an order was clearly too long. The food was placed on the table without comment. The pizza, which came as the second course, was clumsily pushed somewhere in between on the table that was still full of the first course. No “Here you go, no bon appetit”. Nothing like that from the service staff. A re-ordered beer was also placed on the table without comment. You could already see that half the pizza had already been sorted out on the plate with the burnt side up. The waitress wasn't interested. When we ordered the bill, we weren't asked whether we were satisfied or whether we would like to order something else. This was one of the worst services I have experienced. When I finally did NOT give a tip, we had to hear people talking about us as we walked out and one of the young women pointing her head in our direction. If at least the food had been good, the poor staff could have been overlooked. Unfortunately, only the shop itself is quite nice. All in all: Very far from gastronomy. You don't feel like a guest here. I generally don't care about prices. But here it wasn't worth the money. The rest of the pizza was just like in the photo.

Best pizza between Rome and Göttingen, better only in Italy.

Unfortunately, Aunt Giulia has lost a lot of weight in the last two years. Two years ago the Espresso Martini was available for €2 less and was twice as big. I think €11.50 for three sips is very cheeky. At least they still tasted delicious.

When I'm in Göttingen, Aunt Giulia is an absolute must. The pizzas can do something!
