Tanara in Hannover

I went to Tanara with my colleague today. Delicious food, very friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere. I highly recommend it!

We were already impressed on our first visit: great food, excellent value for money, friendly staff, and a truly lovely atmosphere. Absolutely recommendable. Very tasty food and very friendly service. They use great spices, very flavorful. I had vegetarian food, but except for the tzatziki, it was actually vegan. In that respect, the selection could easily expand beyond three dishes. ;-)

Ich habe „Arnavut Ciğeri” (auf eine besondere Art zubereitete Kalbsleber mit Beilagen) gegessen. Es war mit Abstand leckerste Arnavut Ciğeri, das ich je gegessen habe. Anscheinend aus sehr frischen Zutaten, weil die besondere Aroma des gesamten Essens war einzigartig. Darüber hinaus ist die Räumlichkeit sehr geschmackvoll und schön gerichtet, so dass es eine entspannte Atmosphäre verleiht . Service und Personal sehr net und angenehm. Sehr gerne wieder, sobald ich wieder in Hannover bin.

The wine recommendation is a delight and definitely worth recommending. Sitting outside in nice weather is the perfect finishing touch to the meal. The staff is very accommodating and extremely friendly.

Today I tried the delivery service and ordered the chicken skewer with oven-baked vegetables and bulgur. The food tasted good and was still sufficiently hot. Bread and a small salad were included. Really recommended for delivery.

Dinner for six with friends. Service was exceptional good, menu has a really good selection. Quality is excellent and flavours are authentic. Don't be surprised if the dishes take some time, good reason for this and certainly you won't be disappointed. You can share amongs friends and colleagues or order your own.

It's a nice place, it's not very cheap, but I would go again if I come across it.

Super good food, Mediterranean cuisine, but something for everyone.

We enjoyed the “New Year’s Eve menu” at Tanara exceptionally well. The choices included lamb dishes, poultry dishes, vegetarian and fish dishes. There were 4 variations on offer per category. The starter was a classic meze, the dessert consisted of a variation of different treats. We chose the lamb skewer, poultry variations, fried pike-perch and a mixed meat platter. An average of €35 was raised per person. The food was of very good quality and tasted excellent. The pike perch came out crispy without being fried to death. My lamb skewer was cooked to perfection and the meat was pink and tender inside. The service was friendly and attentive. And you have to see the great atmosphere, great! An artist has proven himself here.

There were 5 of us here for dinner and we all really enjoyed it. The waiter was always there quickly and made sure the glasses were full. But the best thing was the food. Unfortunately I can't remember what I had, but I can recommend everyone to explore the menu. If I ever find myself in Hanover again, I would love to come back.

The best lamb ever. If I lived in Hanover, I would be a regular guest.

Unfortunately, this traditional restaurant is no longer what it once was before the new owners took over. The old menu was significantly better, less 'chic and fancy' but much more authentic and super tasty. The atmosphere is much more modern now, the food was also okay, but we really miss the old menu. No more tomato bulgur, no more yogurt and bread, fewer vegetarian dishes. Very unfortunate.

Food mediocre, starters do not meet expectations, clay oven is not used, "Cypriot" is not recognizable, bottle of water for €8.90 is unreasonable

Nun ja, geht so. Freundliches Personal, schicke Einrichtung, der Lehmofen spielte allerdings überhaupt keine Rolle und war auch am Samstagabend nicht in Betrieb. "Zypriotisch" konnten wir ebenfalls nicht feststellen. Meze-Tanara-Vorspeisenplatte: 4 vermutlich nicht selbstgemachte Pasten inklusive Mayo (?) plus Metall-Pfännchen auf der Platte (???) mit käseüberbackenem Gemüse - sehr merkwürdig! Spieß okay, Griechischer Salat auch. In Summe haben wir mit 1/2 L Hauswein 70.-€ bezahlt. Dreist fanden wir der Presie für eine Flasche Wasser 8.90 € !

Nice ambience. Prices ok. Portions were rather small and the food was served lukewarm. There is still a lot of room for improvement in the service - friendly but overwhelmed.

Had dinner here with my wife on Friday, June 14th, 2024. Unfortunately, I can't repeat the very good recession five years ago. The price-performance ratio is not right. The bread was not fresh and the salad was served on a mini plate (my wife still had a small piece of salad on her plate). The tarragon chicken fought a hopeless battle with the knife, which was much too small. I remain hopeful that improvements will be made in the right direction in the future.

Four of us were at Tanara last night. A plate of starters was really tasty. We really liked the main course (minced lamb skewer, vegetarian vegetable stir-fry). The taste was completely different, but we were already aware of that. The service was very nice and we really liked the ambience. We'd love to come back.

A visit to 'Tanara' in Kleefeld always awakens nostalgic feelings in me, because I associate this Cypriot restaurant with many fond memories of spending Wednesdays with my dear colleagues. Over the years, 'Tanara' has undergone several changes, both in ownership and in ambience and offerings. The rustic dishes from the early years, when there were still vouchers and stews in clay pots, have given way to more modern and more delicately flavored cuisine. The menu has become smaller and some of the traditional dishes are missing or have been changed. Today's atmosphere at 'Tanara' is much more modern and inviting than before, although the menu leaves a certain longing for the familiar. In particular, I miss the traditional yogurt that used to be an integral part of the dining experience. However, the baked feta starter and the tender veal liver continue to demonstrate the quality and skill in the kitchen, even if the nostalgic charm of the past has been somewhat lost. Although the restaurant was quite empty when we visited, which may be partly due to the current economic situation, the service remained friendly and courteous. However, I was a little disappointed by the dessert that was declared as homemade, which was clearly a Coppenrath and Wiese cake. This marred the experience slightly, although overall it can be considered forgivable. Overall, 'Tanara' offers a fine, if modernized, dining experience that is far from bad, but still leaves me with a certain longing for the rustic authenticity and, above all, the delicious yogurt. For anyone looking for a more modern take on Cypriot cuisine, ‘Tanara’ is certainly worth a visit. Despite the changes and the slightly higher price level, it remains a place with potential for wonderful moments - even if I personally wish my beloved yogurt would find its way back onto the menu."

The food was super tasty. Not overly seasoned and the taste is absolutely amazing. Staff super friendly and accommodating. Prices are also great. The store is decorated really cool! Top!!!

Wir haben uns spontan für einen Besuch entschieden und auch einen Tisch bekommen. Alle Personen dort waren sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Die Speisekarte ist umfangreich, Fragen wurden sofort kompetent beantwortet. Das Essen war sehr lecker und auch ordentlich von der Menge her. Das gesamte Ambiente und und der Service haben unseren Aufenthalt perfekt gemacht. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

We were there in a larger group, the cellar was new, which wasn't a bad thing, he was nice and polite, unfortunately still too inattentive, drinks were empty, there was no food. It's a shame, the kitchen didn't blow us away either, chicken dry, salad as a starter to the main course salad, why? Think of something else for that... Great atmosphere, chic restaurant. Next time it will be better 😉

Very tasty food, modern decor and very friendly service.

We had Rimbach vouchers and tried a few things with them. The food was really very good. Everything we ordered was of great quality. My personal favorite is the very, very tender chicken meat. I had a vegetarian vegetable stir-fry and that was also more than delicious. There were also two pitas that we shared and both were extremely good. The tiramisu for dessert was also very well made.
