Taj Tandoori in Saarbrücken

Writing after his ordering 5 times from this place. Very bad quality, they send undercooked rotis that made my stomach hurt, if you order any stuffed kulcha there will be only maida in it , you will have to search for the stuffing. The quality of rice is questionable for the price, I found restaurants Punjab’s rice 2x better. Only first time when I had ordered food it was good but after that the experience only got worse each time. I feel totally scammed ! Won’t recommend!

I recently dined at this Indian restaurant and was very disappointed. The food lacked flavor and did not live up to my expectations. Additionally, the service was rude. The boss was unwelcoming and it really ruined our experience. I don't think I'll come back.

This is one of the worst Indian food I’ve had. The food is really bland, not worthy at all & on top of all that the owner is very rude & unfriendly.

I am very disappointed with my experience ! I tried their cheese naan and I really don’t advice their Naan, I didn’t even finish my Chicken Korma because it was really not tasty.

Classic Indian where you can't go wrong. Patient, friendly staff. Food solid and tasteful. I'd love to come back.

Good Indian cuisine... even with parathas and kulfi

Actually the ambience was okay but it was just standard 'India' decoration. At first we were alone in the restaurant. Hair in food. But the food was still delicious.

The chef must have changed. For us, this was the best restaurant with Indian cuisine for a long time. Everything was consistently good. Our favorites that were also ordered this time: 1. Paneer Tikka and 2. Tandoori Chicken. The cheese was definitely not seasoned, marinated or pickled properly. The sauce was watery and very mildly seasoned. The vegetables included frozen carrots and broccoli, which doesn't fit at all. The portions weren't as generous as usual either. That's such a shame, it was always so delicious, but that seems to be over now.

i ordered lamb vindaloo which costs around 17 euro, instead I got a cheap chicken item. when I called for a compensation for their mistakes, their customer service implied I am liar. i asked her i can send video proof. she said she has no time for this. I have ordered from them so many times using liferndo, and till now it was fine because I never had to experience their horrible and unmannerly customer service. Learnt my lesson tho. Never again

Worst Indian I've ever eaten!! 4 people... 3 soups.. Butter Chicken.. Mango Chicken... Price is absolute disgrace. Butter chicken simply with very cheap tomato paste... zero Indian spices... soups three times the same only chicken, vegetables, lentils... added to the same soup. Butter chicken 16 euros plus made... Disgusting. P.S Chicken absolutely inedible. Naan bread very bad... so everyone who pushes this shop is clearly paid cheaply.

Unfortunately, the food was a waste. Ordered via delivery service and were quite disappointed. Sauce tasted very diluted and covered with tons of pepper. Looked 0 appetizing too. After 2-3 forks I lost my hunger and threw it away. My partner's food wasn't any better. Was absolutely not worth the money. At least the delivery person was nice and the order arrived very quickly. Unfortunately I can't recommend ordering there.

Quality has deteriorated drastically. Where a few years ago you could still enjoy great food, today you can get Indian “standard porridge” with watered down sauces. Too bad. Service also mediocre, wrong dish was delivered.

Amazing food--the Naan was fresh and delicious--and our server was helpful and friendly. The table service is wonderful for sharing dishes and letting everyone try samples of the various options. Will definitely be coming back again on our next trip here.

I ordered online here with my girlfriend. First of all, the delivery person was very unfriendly. The food we got was still warm but the taste was questionable. The only edible thing was the naan. It wasn't long before we both had extreme stomach problems and nausea. Better stay away from the store. That was the first and last time we ordered here.

Had the opportunity to visit this restaurant and had a sumptuous meal, beginning with starters and finishing off with gulab jamuns...friendly staff and good ambience. If in Saarbrucken should visit 👍👍

Uodate: This has very significantly deteriorated in quality and is no longer an authentic Indian restaurant but some extremely whitewashed version of it. Pretty much the only and the best authentic Indian restaurant in Saarbrücken. Food is good in quality and adequate in quantity. Very friendly and prompt service.

I had a Bhuna lamb and the sauce and rice were very tasty. The naan was also great. A little more expensive, but still 5 stars from me. Vegetable Biryani: Yogurt as a sauce, basically like no sauce. Too hot. We didn't like it.

Food ordered from Lieferando never arrived: I spent one hour and a half standing in front of the building, yet they state they couldn't find me to make the delivery. Lieferando says they are not responsible, the restaurant says they are neither, so I got no refund.

I can only speak to the delivery. It is amazingly on time every time I order. Food is very good, especially the butter chicken. Delivery staff is very friendly.

Amazing restaurant. Excellent Indian food. We were here with two colleagues and we all liked it. The portions are so rich that the boys took the rest home with them. I recommend to visit. It was definitely not the last time I was here either. 👍

It's gotten really bad now. I've known the store for about 8 years and was a loyal customer for a long time, but since C.rona every order has just been a constant surprise. The quality and taste were always up and down. From gigantic great to terrible and terrible, there was definitely everything. Unfortunately, over the years, the portions have shrunk dramatically, or you don't receive any chutney at all, or it's already spoiled, and that's where it stopped for me recently. I've been eating the same thing at regular intervals for years, but recently I got food poisoning from this food (the soup had a strange taste even when I ate it) and that's actually the end of it for me. You can be glad I didn't press charges. Only the delivery time was always quite quick. Well, I'll definitely never be a customer again. It's a shame how you can do more and more damage to your shop yourself.

I am at a loss for words after my recent experience at this restaurant. The staff was unfriendly, providing a welcome that made us feel like unwanted guests. While other tables were well-equipped, our table was only half set. When I requested a napkin, fork, and knife, the waiter responded with a curt "obviously we will give you one," bringing a paper napkin instead of the cloth napkins seen at other tables. This lack of attention to detail made us feel unwelcome. I urge our server to reconsider their job if they do not enjoy it. As for the food, I will let you decide for yourself, but it did not meet my expectations.

Food was very tasty. The restaurant was also reasonably well attended. Service quick and very friendly. Unfortunately, the ambience seems a bit shabby, hence the deduction of one star. But we'd love to come back.

The taste of the food was okay. The quantity overall is more than sufficient. Unfortunately, for €17.90 you only get rice and bread with sauce. There were a pitifully few pieces of meat floating in our pots, but the whole thing was absolutely overpriced. The service was terribly bad.

The food is good but it takes a lot of time to bring each item, 20 minutes to 25 minutes and the tea is very bad, there is no taste as if tea has been put in water.

I ordered through Lieferando and had high expectations due to the high reviews and the high price... I ordered the curry mango with rice and a side salad. I couldn't eat the salad at all, the dressing was really inedible and the salad didn't seem particularly fresh either. The curry mango was very bland but at least edible.

Had a meal there with a friend, soup was really very good, but with the lamb only 4 small pieces and basically rice with sauce for 18 €? 😬 Very disappointing from the main course...

Pros: 1) Vibrant ambiance with soothing Bollywood music. 2) Dal Makhani and Naan were delicious. Cons: 1) Unfortunately the day we visited the restaurant had a weird smell and due to the same reason the WC was inaccessible. The restaurant should have been temporarily closed until the issue was resolved. Although the stewardess apologized for the inconvenience, they should have proactively offered us a table a bit away from the smell. 2) Service was not welcoming. No smile, made us feel that the person who served us was either disinterested or forced to do the job. 3) The chicken dish was not that flavourful. 💡 Tip for the restaurant: any restaurant can face an unpleasant situation to deal with, proactively make the customer comfortable and or offer a small item from the menu as salad or dessert complimentary to lessen the discomfort.

Tandoori items are decent, so are some starters. Main courses are often disappointing. A lot of the dishes use the same stock sauce, and it is often bland. The vegetables are not cooked through, the chicken chunks are also undercooked sometimes.

It's not indian , but a version of European food and preparation

I must say, this restaurant deserves a lot of credit. I have tried a lot of things here and have never been disappointed. Of course one cannot get the same taste as you would in India, but certainly the best Indian food in Saarbrucken area.

I think I've found the world's blandest chicken cooks. Only thing left was for the chicken to come alive and say don't eat me

Ich habe erst um 22 Uhr bestellt und mein Essen wurde trotzdem im vorgegebenen Zeitrahmen (von Lieferando) ins Hotel geliefert. Ich wurde bei Ankunft des Fahrers extra angerufen. Die Portion des Tandoori Chicken Biryani hatte eine sehr gute Größe, es war frisch und lecker. Leider wusste ich nicht, dass es dazu noch ein Naan-Brot und Gurkendip gibt, welche ich aufgrund von Allergien leider nicht essen konnte. Der Lieferant war sehr freundlich. Ich empfehle das Restaurant gerne weiter.

Bester Inder in Saarbrücken! Alle Gerichte sind wirklich mega lecker. Wir bestellen hier regelmäßig Essen und es kommt immer super schnell (maximal 30min) und glühend heiß bei uns an. Einfach perfekt! Im Restaurant selbst waren wir auch schon öfter. Das Ambiente könnte zwar ein kleines Upgrade vertragen aber das Essen ist wirklich einfach nur lecker! Klare Empfehlung!

Lekker gegeten, waarbij ook opviel dat de rijst echt lekker was. Wel jammer dat het eten niet op een rechaud werd geserveerd, zoals wij eigenlijk altijd gewend zijn van een Indiaas restaurant.

Super leckeres Essen. Die Verpackungen wurden verschweißt so dass das Essen immer noch schön warm ist wenn es ankommt.

Ordered food from them. Samosa is good. All other gravy dishes are not authentic indian recipes. They really need to improve their food taste. Most of there orange gravy dishes taste exactly the same.

Palak Paneer bestellt mit Reis und Naan. Der Reis war trockener als die Große Indische Wüste. Das Naan war wie ein Gummi, das hätte man eher für andere, nicht jugendfreie Dinge benutzen können. Leider keine Empfehlung. Schade.

Un restaurant à l'écart du centre ville proposant une véritable cuisine indienne. Nous étions seuls dans ce restaurant avec une décoration typique, les plats étaient très bons (attention tout est généralement un peu piquant) malgré l'absence de clients l'accueil était sympathique et souriant. Le service était rapide. Le restaurant est situé juste en face d'un grand parking en face de plusieurs arrêts de bus. Les prix sont dans la norme. Nous reviendrons !

Though it's an Indian restaurant it tastes like German . They comprise their taste , no Indian taste is there. The lady who is serving is very rude. She must be polite. If you need good food there then only order Tandoori items and Mango Lassi. Rest are not in good taste.

Sehr lecker. Die Pakora und Samosas als Vorspeise waren super lecker. Als Hauptspeise hatte ich Tandoori Chicken Tikka mega lecker und würzig. Die Portionen sind groß und jeden Euro wert. Freue mich schon auf das nächste Mal.

The food was delicious but they didn't have yoghurt, so no lassi or anything with yoghurt. The service could be a bit more professional, the atmosphere was not impressive either. The price was fair compared good portions we got.

also für Vegetarier nicht gedacht oder bzw für Leute die Gemüsegerichte essen. Es ist alles tiefgefroren kein frisches Gemüse. Deshalb ist der Geschmack gleich 0. Die Vorspeisen waren okay.

Das vegetarische Gericht war zähes tiefgefrorenes Gemüse:( Des Lassi nicht frisch zubereitet und nicht gekühlt. Die Deko des Tisches hatte nichts indisches, ebenso das Geschirr. Überhaupt nicht empfehlenswert, nie wieder.

After one year (COVID-19) we went back to this restaurant. The quality is the same as before, it pleased also our Indian son in law. We ate vegetarian and vegan.

Our first time here after a too long corona pause. We enjoyed mostly the same dishes: Samosas, Channa Masala and eggplant , which tasted heavenly!

Trotz Aufklebers "Keine Werbung" an meinem Briefkasten fand ich dieser Tage einen Flyer (Speisekarte) des Taj Tandoori in meinem Briefkasten. Das ist einfach aufdringliche, unverantwortliche und völlig überflüssige Umweltvermüllung ! Grund genug (neben diversen negativen Kommentaren hier über die Qualität des Essens) von diesem "Restaurant" abzuraten !

EC-Zahlung nur vor Ort möglich, daher mussten wir das Essen abholen. Daheim ausgepackt, wurden wir maßlos enttäuscht (siehe Foto): das Essen bestand aus undefinierbarem, unappetitlichem Brei, ein Teil des bestellten Essens fehlte. Positive Bewertungen versetzen uns in Erstaunen. Das doch höhere Preisniveau erweckt Erwartungen, die nicht ansatzweise erfüllt werden konnten.

Wir sind regelmäßig zum Essen da, allerdings merkt man jetzt im Sommer das viel zu wenig gelüftet wird, es gibt auch keine Klimaanlage. Der Inhaber sollte während Gäste davon regelmäßig lüften sonst ist es im großen Gastraum viel zu stickig. Das Essen ist sehr gut und ich bin fast jede Woche dort

Um 13 h hat das Restaurant 2 Gäste bewirtet. Relativ Großes Restaurant. Das Essen war nichts Besonderes. Die Kartoffeln schmeckten wie mehrmals aufgewärmt. Die Fleischportion war sehr klein und wirkt durch die Kartoffeln gepusht. 3 St. Fleisch. Das Dessert völlig verzuckert. Der Chai wurde mir angeboten mit Kardamon und anderen Indischen Kräuter. Weder Kardamon noch Ingwer waren es. Sondern ein wenig Muskatnuss. Für fast 4 Euro für einen Schwarzen Tee mit viel zu fetter Milch und verzuckert zu teue.Auf meine Beschwerde nur wegen des Tees ist die männliche Bedienung sehr unfreundlich geworden.

Wir waren am Samstag Abend mit einer Gruppe von 8 Personen im Taj Tandoori und waren alle voll und ganz zufrieden. Die Inneneinrichtung des Restaurants ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen und das Licht zu grell, es wirkte ein bisschen wie ein Supermarkt Licht. Der Service war gut, wir wurden schnell bedient und bekamen sehr schnell unser Essen und Getränke. Das Essen war für indisches Essen verhältnismäßig wenig gewürzt, aber sehr lecker. Besonders toll ist, dass zu jedem Hauptgericht automatisch Reis und Naan gereicht werden. Die Preise sind angemessen. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen.

War über das nicht zu 'europäisierte' indische Essen positiv überrascht. Personal sehr freundlich und kompetent.

Un bon restaurant indien proposant une large gamme de spécialités. Première découverte de la cuisine indienne pour ma part et l'essai à été concluant !

Das Interieur ist das Selbe, wie bereits zu Zeiten des Dynastie, das führt aufgrund des tollen Essens diesmal nicht zu einem Punktabzug. Das Essen ist lecker und abwechslungsreich. Super ist, dass alle Speisen in kleinen Warmhaltetöpfchen serviert werden, so hat man die Möglichkeit voneinander zu probieren. Brot und Reis werden nachgebracht, sobald man es verputzt hat, so hat man immer frischen und warmen Reis zur Verfügung. Ich kann das Taj Tandoori nur empfehlen und war bestimmt nicht das letzte Mal dort.
