Highly recommend Chicken Korma!

Had dinner in an atmospheric ambience with pleasant, relaxing music. Price of the food was a bit high, but we were very surprised at what was on the house. A dip, tangerines for dessert plus espresso. We've never experienced anything like this before! We were treated so nicely, it was a very successful evening! The food was very good!!! A treat for the palate! As already said, we will come back and recommend you to others!

We went to the Star of India for the first time today And I'm really sorry to say this but this was by far the worst food I've ever had in an Indian restaurant It has nothing to do with Indian. No spices, no taste, not even salt in the food, let alone Indian spices, simply tasteless, you just feel like you're being taken for a ride in plain German. I would have preferred to just present the food to the chef and say hey, try it, I don't understand the positive reviews here either. They claim the food tastes good. I'm really sorry, but it was just abysmal. The young man from the service was definitely very nice and competent. And again, really as a tip. Kick this chef out because this has nothing to do with Indian cuisine.

The food was anything but Indian! Too expensive for the food. I love Indian food, I cook a lot myself and have tried many restaurants but what is served here has nothing to do with Indian food! We ordered tandoori mix and murgh makhani. Tandoori chicken was a complete disaster, had no taste and was burnt. Both Indian spices and salt were missing. Lamb was okay. For me, Murgh Makhani was nothing but 5 pieces of chicken in normal tomato sauce without salt. Has nothing to do with Butter Chicken/ Murg Makhani. Service was okay despite a very long wait. The guy was very nice. Sorry but I'm very disappointed. If you were to charge that much money, starter dips would have to come first like in the other restaurants.

Unfortunately completely overpriced for what you get. The quantity is a bad joke, especially at the price. The fact that there is no naan bread in the main courses is also something we know from the competition. In our case, the stacked dishes were squished together so that the sauces were distributed throughout the bag. Not very appetizing, as you can see from the photo. In addition to the fact that the food was (because of that?) cold, the service here also leaves a lot to be desired. After calling and complaining, they only referred to the delivery service (Uber Eats). The question of where we would get our food on Sunday evening remained unanswered. No concession, nothing. Sorry, but that was the last time for us too. I would rather recommend Taj Tandoori, you get something for your money.

Apparently everything is being done here against Google reviews that are not wanted. Interesting. So again in short form (maybe it will stay that way this time): The food and experience in the restaurant was anything but good. Our food all tasted the same. No sophistication, the same mix of spices for every dish. Simply cheeky for the price. We also had a very unpleasant situation with a male service worker and the boss. I find it horrible that stores like this have so many good reviews.

Despite being completely booked out, the boss personally welcomed me and served us very high quality food. I was relatively skeptical beforehand because I was served good Indian food. The Murgh tikka makkni was butter tender and the rice was exceptional! Good wine list with very good price-performance ratio! Always worth a visit

Really not recommended. Apart from a tiny blob of tasteless yoghurt, there is no sauce at all, there is no hot sauce even if you ask, you can't taste anything about the flavor "marinated for 24 hours in yoghurt, saffron and Indian spices", instead it tastes like an ordinary fried chicken , which is also just served on a few leaves of tasteless cabbage. Plus way too much dry rice and no kind of side dish. Tofu variants for vegetarians are not offered at all, and the prices are rather high. I had recently visited some Indians in England and was looking forward to further experiences with Indian cuisine. There can be no question of that here, but rather a frightening experience. It's a shame, I was happy, but it really wasn't supposed to be like that.

My first dinner in Germany. The mutton is very good. The atmosphere is astounding. Very well located. Very good overall.

Very friendly service, we took the recommendations and were very satisfied. The spiciness and spices are very well balanced. Quantity was more than enough.

Ordered today for the first (and last) time. The food itself really doesn't taste bad. But the prices are completely exorbitant, especially for the quantity. We paid €55 for 2 dishes + naan bread and weren't even 100% full. The icing on the cake is that I got 3 pieces of lamb and 3 chicken wings for €22, which weren't even finished. Inside the meat was still wonderfully pink. You can't sell that to a customer... I would have probably complained in a restaurant, but it's not available at home. It's better to order from Taj Tandoori or Punjab, you'll get something for your money.

We ordered there. Unfortunately, the dishes were neither filling nor intense in taste. There are definitely better alternatives in Saarbrücken, where the price-performance ratio is also better.

We went to this restaurant more or less by chance. The atmosphere could be a little more comfortable. But it's completely OK. The two waitresses were very friendly, but they would be happy to put their cell phones away from time to time, otherwise a few more drinks would definitely have been missed. The food was great! And if our place of residence wasn't over 2 hours away, I would definitely be there to eat more often.

We went on weekday, the restaurant was completely empty. Ordered Tandoori Chicken and Naan. With Tandoori Chicken they gave Rice which is heated in Microwave Chicken also reheated and burnt.

Not only do they have delicious food, they also have the nicest and most personable owner ever. I would recommend this restaurant with passion.

When I first walked in a I was greeted by the host. Then I was given my place to sit. The atmosphere was beautiful and serene. They immediately took my order, and the food was delivered to me shortly. I will definitely be coming back to this place to eat again in the near future.

Went there spontaneously on a Sunday around 8:30 p.m. and ate extremely well! The portions are decent, the food tastes great and the service is quick and super nice! We were even allowed to stay seated a little longer (as stated in the official opening times), even though we were the last guests. So we felt very welcome. Additional information: The dishes are all rather expensive.

I recently shared a vegetarian meal with a friend and the food was fantastic. From the dip to the main course, the taste was on point. The waiter was also extremely friendly and very mindful of the customers orders. I'd highly recommend it if you're looking for great Indian food in Saarbrücken.

The three of us had dinner at the Star of India and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. As we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by the wonderful aroma of spices. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The portions were extremely generous and wonderfully flavorful. We would be happy to come back on our next visit to Saarbrücken.

Wir waren heute am 03.02.2024 dort essen. Ambiente war echt schön. Man wird super nett begrüßt und von der Bedienung her echt top. Das Essen war super lecker und gut und schnell angerichtet.

Formerly the best shop in Saarbrücken, since new management, half portions, double the price.

We had called shortly before closing time and pre-ordered a curry, but when we arrived we unfortunately had to cancel the whole thing because we hadn't expected a price of €29 for the one curry and it was beyond our expectations and our financial possibilities for a quick dish unfortunately has exceeded the takeaway price. The employees reacted friendly and with a lot of understanding, thank you very much for that 🙏

Was at the Star of India in Saarbrücken last night. The restaurant was fully booked, but I still managed to get a seat. The service was very nice and rearranged tables especially for us. The meal took a while, which is understandable and it was full house. But the dishes were very fresh. I'm very satisfied, we'll be back.

More expensive than ever before. If you want to deduct your taxes, you are welcome to go there and even the tax office will probably ask you where you got so much money from. Very disappointed. 🥲

I/we love Indian cuisine!! Today was, firstly, not good and secondly, way too expensive! We were here twice, the first and last time. The shop was buzzing, we couldn't understand it.

From the food to the service to the ambience - we were more than satisfied and impressed. You especially have to try the house wine! Anyone who is going through the trials and tribulations of Saarbrücken and is looking for an excellent all-round package should definitely consider this location. A clear recommendation from us!

An und für sich ein sehr schnuckeliges Restaurant. Die Bedienung war super freundlich und das Essen war lecker. Die 2 Sterne Abzug gibt es, weil: - die Stühle super unbequem sind. Mein Partner und ich waren gute 2 Stunden dort und uns hat der Hintern weh getan, obwohl er gut gepolstert ist. - Was uns auch stutzig gemacht hat war der Preis für ein Naan. Wir haben es eigentlich frei Haus erwartet, aber leider Fehlanzeige. - weil es keine Auswahl an Beilagen gibt. Zur trockenen Grillplatte gab es trockenen Reis.

Very small portions served for the price. About half bowl of rice for 2 person, wasn't quite enough really. This is a trick used for the customers to order extras to earn more. Possibly the most expensive Naan in Germany. The test and service was good.

Sehr vegan - freundlich. Man muss nachfragen, weil es auf der Karte nicht klar erkennbar ist aber die Mitarbeiter kennen sich aus und beraten einen gerne. Die Tische sind etwas eng aneinander gestellt und die Musik leider etwas unpassend zur urigen Einrichtung aber geschmeckt hat es prima! Gerne wieder! Auch praktisch: man kann mit Karte zahlen.

Etwas hochpreisiger aber super leckeres Essen und sehr freundlicher Service. Wir waren schon öfter hier und wurden noch nie enttäuscht.

Das Star of India hat sich erneuert und verschönert. Unsere Gerichte waren sehr gut zubereitet und auf den Punkt exotisch gewürzt. Personal gesamt freundlich und zuvorkommend. Bravo!

Nach Schließung nochmal geöffnet, hat Star of India auf jeden Fall eine Modernisierung bekommen. Wir fanden den neuen Look gut, wirkt alles ein wenig moderner ohne den alten Charme zu verlieren. Die indische Musik hat gemischte Reaktionen ausgelöst. Aber am wichtigsten: Das Essen immernoch genauso lecker, auch die Portionsgrößen reichen noch locker um satt zu werden. Und: endlich auch mit Karte zahlbar. Immernoch mein favorisiertes indisches Restaurant in Saarbrücken.

Sympathique petit restaurant à quelques pas du centre, la salle n'est pas grande et la déco très simple mais cela fait le charme de l'endroit ! J'ai bien aimé le changement de saveurs avec des plats riche en épice, cela change de notre cuisine habituelle ! Le serveur est très sympathique et les prix correct. Beaucoup de gens y prennent des plats à emporter. Pas de CB. Nous y retournerons !

Von außen klein und unscheinbar machte uns das Restaurant wegen der Möglichkeit zur Onlinebestellung und der zentralen Lage im Nauwieser Viertel doch neugierig. Wir lieben indische Küche und waren sehr positiv überrascht . Wir haben das Tandori Chicken bestellt. Das Hähnchen war sehr lecker und sicher in Anlehnung an die deutschen Geschmäcker mild gewürzt. Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist sehr gut und der freundliche Service hat uns sehr gefallen. Gerne wieder .

Nicht nur, dass das gesamte Team einfach unglaublich herzlich ist (da kommt auch mal der Chef auf einen Plausch vorbei, es gibt gratis Kuchen von Mama u.v.m.), sondern das Essen ist einfach große klasse. Für jemanden, der schon in Indien gelebt hat, kommen hier Erinnerungen hoch - ganz besonders beim Thali (veg. und non-veg.)! Dieses Gericht mit vielen kleinen Schälchen mit unterschiedlichen Currys, Gemüse und Daal ist bei den meisten indischen Restaurants schwer zu finden, weil dazu viele kleine Gerichte gekocht werden müssen. Star of India bleibt unser Lieblingsinder in Saarbrücken und wir hoffen sehr, dass er sich noch lange hält! P.S. Sowohl Abholen als auch Lieferung ist während Corona gar kein Problem!

Dieses Restaurant kann ich nur empfehlen. Nicht nur in der Lockdown Phase wo man sich das Essen bestellen und abholen kann, sondern auch so. Wir haben schon unsere Lieblingsgerichte. Wenn das Restaurant offen ist, ist das Personal sehr zuvorkommend, das Essen mega und das Ambiente der Hammer.
