The food was great, but the air was very stuffy and we had to wait 1:15 (!) hours for the food.

Best Indian food in Merseburg. We have been regular customers for years. Of course, mistakes sometimes happen, but that is normal and can be communicated.

Nice restaurant with good food, quick service and acceptable prices. A bit noisy because it was very busy.

There are lunch dishes that are reasonable in terms of price-performance ratio. The dish was okay. The second person had a starter plate which was unfortunately a huge disappointment. The diverse selection of dishes included fried and rather old-tasting mixes, some of which were indefinable. There were two shrimps. Everything tasted the same, dry and quite old. Unfortunately, the dips that were served with it couldn't pull it off either. They were the run-of-the-mill dips that always come to the table in silver bowls and not really tasty. The service was very nice.

The best restaurant in Merseburg... according to self-promotion. I can't rate that, at least highly recommended if you want good Indian food. Food from different areas of India, spicy to extra hot, deliciously prepared and attractively served. Comfortable to sit on, even on the outside terrace.

We were there again at short notice on Friday, we were warmly welcomed and quickly provided with drinks. The starters were delicious and the main course didn't take long to arrive. Ordering more rice after our pot was empty was no problem at all. As always, the food was flawless and the spiciness was also pleasant. We always enjoy coming back and our next time won't be long in coming.

After the unsuccessful search for a St. Martin's goose meal in Merseburg's old town, I strolled through the streets and was captured by the Taj Mahal. Indian spices are known to increase the appetite, which unfortunately I've lost more of these at the moment. I was warmly welcomed and given a table straight away. The restaurant was busy, even though it was a weekday. That speaks for itself. I could read on the map that the Taj Mahal has existed at this location for 20 years. From the outside there is definitely a palace-like impression. You can tell that the restaurant is well organized and professional. The menu included dishes typical of Indian cuisine, which were available in European mild and spicy versions. I also found the explanation of how the typical Indian spices work very nice. When it comes to drinks, you could always find an Indian version in addition to the local ones. I tried the Indian white wine, which of course also had a hint of spice. For the main course there was Papadam, a thin crispbread-like bread made from legume flour, pepper and cumin. Plus three spicy sauces. My favorite is the yogurt sauce with mint. The main course was well prepared and tasty and in a portion that was manageable even for women. The tables were set with new tablecloths after each guest. The price-performance ratio was absolutely balanced. I ate with appetite and spent a lovely evening here. All in all: recommended

It was my first time eating Indian food and I was skeptical but the food was really delicious. It convinced me. I've never eaten such juicy chicken before. Plus the ambience and friendly service. I'd love to come back.

Unfortunately we had to wait a long time for the food, there were other (larger) tables that came after us and ate before us. Unfortunately it was a shame. I wasn't entirely sure whether I had gotten "my" dish because I couldn't see or taste some of the very distinctive ingredients. Even though I felt like I was allowed to look for some of the ingredients, it was tasty. Due to the small dining room, the distribution of the tables seemed a little chaotic over the course of the evening, it became increasingly difficult to find your place and you were almost stuck in people's food while you maneuvered past each other - but I also think that the cut Building makes it difficult to distribute tables quickly and sensibly (due to the high number of guests).

Beautiful Indian restaurant in a very good location with a great view of the city of Merseburg. Very courteous and nice staff. Eating is quick and tastes very tasty.

Today it was really catastrophic, the restaurant was way too warm, you constantly had to get some fresh air. The lamb was dry and we had a stomach ache after eating it, the complete opposite of the last visit.

We have eaten at the Taj Mahal many times and it is always a pleasure. Even the vegan dishes are now specially labeled, which was the finishing touch for us. Sometimes it takes longer when it's busy, but it's definitely worth the wait! I could bathe in Allu Gobi Vegan and I can't get enough of it! Best where there is!!

Very nice restaurant, centrally located in Merseburg. Indian ambience (as far as I can tell), attentive, quick service. I like coming here. It is also inexpensive.

On our way to the Czech Republic, we spent the night in Merseburg and ate at Taj Mahal. Very tasty food and for a good price!

Everyone will find something on the extensive menu, and vegetarians are not forgotten either. I was quite happy with my lamb curry and so was my partner with her cauliflower curry. We liked the place on the outside terrace and together with the non-alcoholic cocktail it was a successful evening.

I can recommend it for fans of Indian cuisine, you just need to have a little patience when waiting for the food.

Food is perfectly okay and the prices are reasonable. We had very good pakora, a bathura that was unfortunately a bit too limp and two good main courses. Everything came quickly and the service was very friendly. The seats outside were shaded and quiet enough, only smokers at the neighboring tables and the cars on the street, which was only moderately nice, spoiled the quality of the stay.

Everything was great, some restaurants could learn a lesson from it and would be happy to come back.

Today we spontaneously ended our beautiful day in the Taj Mahal. The service was super friendly and quick. The food was delicious as always. Everything perfect. Many greetings to the nice waitress, who always briefly informed us about the European Football Championship status ;)

Wir haben hier angenehm auf der Terrasse gesessen, die Bedienung war sehr nett und aufmerksam. Vorab gab es sehr leckeres Papadam, der Lassi war richtig gut. Das Essen (Mutton Karahi und Murg Channa) bestand aus reichlich frischen Zutaten und zartem Fleisch. Weniger gut fanden wir, dass alles nur schwach gewürzt war - die von uns so geliebte Geschmacksexplosion exotischer Gewürze beim Inder blieb hier fast völlig aus. Dennoch ein sehr empfehlenswertes Restaurant mit fairen Preisen.

Heaven on earth, coupled with very attentive service and more than acceptable prices. Authentically seasoned and, especially for me, the vegetarian and vegan dish is simply delicious. Medium spicy is also exactly what we Europeans expect. Mango Lassie with Channa Massala and then a mango cream. Perfect!

The chai has no spices, is watered down and was served without sugar.

Pretty much the best Indian food in a large area. However, the "very spicy" dishes are only spicy according to German standards, so not really traditionally Indian spicy.

It was my first time eating Indian food and I had my reservations because I don't like curry. There is a large selection of dishes and I tried the number 40 and was thrilled. Price-performance ratio is okay.

The food was ok, but the supposedly homemade lemonade that cost over €7 wasn't at all. (I can imagine it was from a can) It's a shame.....it's not that difficult to squeeze juice, even if it is from a can, you can't take 7 euros for it. Pretty small portions

The dal was fantastic, the nans are really generous and tasty compared to the competition. There is also something to nibble on to shorten the waiting time. We have been your guests several times and it has always been delicious and we have been very satisfied. Ordered a table today for Valentine's Day and we discovered that it was a complete disaster. It was like a waiting room where all the tables were occupied and the next people who made reservations had to wait between the people who had eaten until they were finished eating so they could sit down. The food is great for anyone who can handle extra-cultural things, but I would die for the mint yogurt dip. It's really good and the staff is very attentive and accommodating. Even when it's busy, they manage to serve you your food quickly and to a high quality. The atmosphere is also very pleasant. I can simply recommend it.

Ein wunderschönes Restaurant mitten im Zentrum der Stadt und auch absolut zentral im Geschmack. Die Speisen sind authentisch gut ins immer wieder lecker. Das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend.

Essen war echt lecker, wir hatten für 18 Uhr bestellt, waren aber bereits 17 Uhr vor Ort, trotzdem konnten wir bereits unsere Plätze einnehmen.

Essen ist lecker, keine lange Wartezeit. Bedienung sehr freundlich. Nur bei der weiteren Getränkebestellung braucht man etwas Geduld.
