TAJ Indisches Restaurant - Erding in Erding

I visited this restaurant for the first time a few weeks ago. I really love Indian food, but unfortunately, I didn't enjoy it as much as I'd hoped. I didn't like the butter chicken, neither the meat (the pieces were a bit large and somewhat stringy) nor the sauce (it lacked flavor). I've also had better desserts (mango cream) at other Indian restaurants, with vanilla ice cream and pistachios, and a much richer flavor. The naan bread, however, was delicious. Perhaps I just caught them on an off day, but it didn't quite live up to my expectations. I'll still give it another try, though, so I can make a proper comparison.

Amazing and truly authentic Indian cuisine. The staff are wonderful and welcoming, and the atmosphere is fantastic. A great place for any occasion!

A truly ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ experience. The food at the Taj Indian Restaurant is simply unbelievably delicious and fresh. The service is super attentive, and the team is very friendly. You can tell they really care about what you want and how spicy you want it. We ordered butter chicken, kadhai paneer, dal makhani, and veggie pakora—everything was perfect. The garlic naan was also fantastic: soft, cooked well, and just as naan should be. I've celebrated my birthday there before, and it was another wonderful experience. I highly recommend going there to everyone.

Disappointing on April 20th. We arrived shortly after 9 pm. From 9:30 pm onwards, it was incredibly unpleasant because apparently a dish drawer in the kitchen had fallen to the floor. That was noisy, of course, but then at least five of the servers went outside and talked at a very inappropriate volume. At 10:15 pm, we received the bill without a word, and without anyone even asking if we wanted anything else, even though they're open until 11 pm. There was also no mango schnapps or liqueur like usual. The food tasted different than usual. For example, the 88-spice sauce was too hot. My companion doesn't tolerate spicy food well. When we mentioned this, the waiter just joked that it had been too sweet for him and that's why he'd made it hot. Haha, funny – not. We've never felt so unwelcome as we did today. We've been there often, but we'll be looking for alternatives now. Despite everything, I left a 10 percent tip. Apparently, one shouldn't expect a "thank you".

I visited this restaurant back in 2015 when I was last in Erding… My husband has been here since and it was the place I wanted to eat when I came back here! Such a lovely little restaurant and great service! I had the lamb biryani and my husband had a Thali. We were both very happy with the food!

Best Indian restaurant we've ever been to! We've been to a few in Berlin and at home. This one was so authentic, with all the spices you could taste. The food came quickly, but not too fast. We'd love to come back. The servers were funny! 😊

The food was delicious. However, ordering was only possible in German-English, which was awkward. Even though there were hardly any tables occupied, we waited 15 minutes for the bill. This is simply unacceptable.

Very tasty, the k13 (Vegetable Mango) is recommended. We managed to get a seat around 6:30.

The food was truly delicious – nothing to complain about. Unfortunately, the positive impression was severely dampened by the service. Even when we sat down, we barely had a chance to look at the menu, as we were immediately asked for our order. Later, we were simply forgotten about during the meal. Even when we tried to ask, we were ignored, leaving us no chance to make ourselves known. When our food finally arrived, we were very satisfied with the taste. But when it came to paying, the same thing happened again: We tried several times to speak to the staff – without a response. Only after repeatedly shouting did we receive an unfriendly demand, "How much do you pay?". After that, we had to wait another 15 minutes until someone finally came to us. The service when packing our food was also disappointing: Instead of packing the food for us, they simply handed us aluminum containers – we were left to do the rest ourselves. Conclusion: Great food, terrible service. We can definitely recommend the restaurant for pick-up – but unfortunately not for a visit in person.

We had a very good and hearty meal at Taj in Erding this evening. We sat in the lovely beer garden and received extremely friendly service. We started with papadums with delicious sauces, and finished with mango liqueur and a sample of mango cream. Our two main courses were well-seasoned and very plentiful. We'd love to come back next time we're in Erding.

The ambiance was nice, the food was delicious, but it took a while. The waiters were aloof, taciturn, and rather emotionless. I wouldn't normally criticize something like this if it weren't stated on the front page of the menu that every guest is treated like royalty. Anyone who imposes standards on themselves should stick to them.

Outstanding! Despite the outdoor area being full, they found a table for us. The service was very friendly and attentive, and the food is simply excellent! It was our first time here and we'll definitely be back! Update April 2023: Absolutely delicious as always! Tried the Gajar Halwa this time.
