TAJ Indisches Restaurant - Erding in Erding

I visited this restaurant back in 2015 when I was last in Erding… My husband has been here since and it was the place I wanted to eat when I came back here! Such a lovely little restaurant and great service! I had the lamb biryani and my husband had a Thali. We were both very happy with the food!

Best Indian restaurant we've ever been to! We've been to a few in Berlin and at home. This one was so authentic, with all the spices you could taste. The food came quickly, but not too fast. We'd love to come back. The servers were funny! 😊

The food was delicious. However, ordering was only possible in German-English, which was awkward. Even though there were hardly any tables occupied, we waited 15 minutes for the bill. This is simply unacceptable.

The food was truly delicious – nothing to complain about. Unfortunately, the positive impression was severely dampened by the service. Even when we sat down, we barely had a chance to look at the menu, as we were immediately asked for our order. Later, we were simply forgotten about during the meal. Even when we tried to ask, we were ignored, leaving us no chance to make ourselves known. When our food finally arrived, we were very satisfied with the taste. But when it came to paying, the same thing happened again: We tried several times to speak to the staff – without a response. Only after repeatedly shouting did we receive an unfriendly demand, "How much do you pay?". After that, we had to wait another 15 minutes until someone finally came to us. The service when packing our food was also disappointing: Instead of packing the food for us, they simply handed us aluminum containers – we were left to do the rest ourselves. Conclusion: Great food, terrible service. We can definitely recommend the restaurant for pick-up – but unfortunately not for a visit in person.

We had a very good and hearty meal at Taj in Erding this evening. We sat in the lovely beer garden and received extremely friendly service. We started with papadums with delicious sauces, and finished with mango liqueur and a sample of mango cream. Our two main courses were well-seasoned and very plentiful. We'd love to come back next time we're in Erding.

The ambiance was nice, the food was delicious, but it took a while. The waiters were aloof, taciturn, and rather emotionless. I wouldn't normally criticize something like this if it weren't stated on the front page of the menu that every guest is treated like royalty. Anyone who imposes standards on themselves should stick to them.

Outstanding! Despite the outdoor area being full, they found a table for us. The service was very friendly and attentive, and the food is simply excellent! It was our first time here and we'll definitely be back! Update April 2023: Absolutely delicious as always! Tried the Gajar Halwa this time. Soooo good! 😋 Update July 2025: Try the rice, which is labeled "Chef's Specialty." It's amazing! (See photo)

We had a lovely girls' night at the Taj. The mixed starter platter (vegetarian) was plentiful and very good. The butter chicken and mango chicken are highly recommended and beautifully presented. The service was extremely friendly.

A beautifully landscaped beer garden. Without exception, all the staff are super friendly and accommodating. A very pleasant atmosphere. You're greeted with a pappad and, by far, the best sauces I've had in a long time. For main courses, we had chicken coconut once and chicken palak once, both of which were the best I've ever had. Whenever I eat somewhere for the first time, I always try the same dish to really appreciate the difference in taste. But I haven't had such a good meal in a long time.

We visited the Erding Thermal Spa at the weekend and decided to go here for dinner. We love Indian food and have tried many restaurants. But what we were served here was definitely the best Indian food we have ever eaten. Everything was just right. We received a very friendly welcome and showed to our seats (in the beautifully landscaped beer garden). We were first brought delicious lentil waffles with three dips (free of charge). We chose our dishes (Tandoori Chicken Masala; Mushroom Mutton; Garlic Nan), which were brought to our table shortly afterwards. The rice (a particularly large portion) was portioned onto our plates by the waiter, something we had never experienced before. But now for the most important point: the taste. We have truly NEVER eaten such delicious Indian food. After we had eaten everything except some rice, the waiter brought us two mango liqueurs (also free of charge). We asked for the bill and had to pay €47.60 for two main courses, a loaf of bread, and three drinks. Verdict: 10/10. Excellent value for money across the board. The service was extremely friendly (we were served by four different people). We'll definitely be back (unfortunately, we live in Ludwigsburg). But next time we visit the thermal baths, we'll go back to the TAJ.

I have to honestly say, it's truly one of the best Indian restaurants we've ever eaten. We've ordered several times, and everything tastes simply amazing. They put a lot of effort into the presentation of the dishes, including the takeaway menu. Everything looks truly appetizing. The ambiance is large and spacious.
