The ambiance is beautifully authentic and has a distinctly Indian flair. The service is attentive. However, the food is a bit overpriced for rice and a little chicken with sauce. €2 less would be more appropriate.

You pay a €2 delivery fee for the delivery person to wait stubbornly at your front door until you come down.

I ordered shahi paneer today, but unfortunately it tasted really bad. It was bright red instead of the usual brown color and tasted very sweet. See photo (unedited!). Also, it had zero spiciness.

We ordered lunch from the menu. First, a cup of delicious soup is served before the main course arrives. The food was very tasty and plentiful, so you definitely leave satisfied. The lunch specials are also reasonably priced. This Indian restaurant in Hersbruck is highly recommended.

I was there for the first time today and will definitely be back. The food is absolutely delicious. The price is perfectly reasonable. I was expecting it to be more expensive. The service is very friendly. Everyone smiles, which really lifts the mood in the restaurant. It was a wonderful evening all around. Many thanks to the team at Restaurant Taj.

Simply fantastic! I was absolutely thrilled with this Indian restaurant! The food was incredibly delicious, authentic, and freshly prepared – you can really taste the love that goes into the cooking. The spices and variety of dishes were particularly impressive. The staff were also exceptionally friendly and attentive – you were immediately warmly welcomed and felt completely at home. The service was fast, courteous, and always with a smile. I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant – if you love Indian food (or want to get to know it), this is the place for you! I will definitely be back.

I ordered food through Lieferando, and there was hair in every dish.

I often order from Lieferando and have always been happy. Unfortunately, the food has been a bit lacking recently. Often, at least the vegetarian dishes (e.g., Mango Paneer or Paneer Tikka Butter Masala) are extremely sweet, which, for me, doesn't suit Indian cuisine. I hope that changes soon. Otherwise, I can highly recommend the restaurant.

Really delicious Indian food! I highly recommend it. Lots of vegan options, and I also love that they have a changing table :-)

Unfortunately, the restaurant seemed quite empty on both of my visits. Drinks and food are reasonably priced. I had a duck dish both times and was satisfied with the taste and size. There are certainly better Indian restaurants in Nuremberg, but you definitely can't go wrong here.

Ordered food. After half an hour, I called. After another half hour, I complained. Then the driver came, claiming he had the wrong address. The food was cold, I was charged full price, and it wasn't even good. Garlic naan was like leather and tasteless. Not recommended!

I was thrilled, the food was fantastic. Very friendly service. Absolutely top-notch. I can say that with confidence, as I own a restaurant myself.

Picked up something for the first time. I've been to Indian restaurants many times, and unfortunately, the food here wasn't good at all. It was just cheap convenience food in terms of taste. Hardly any spices, but it tasted like powder. As you can see in the picture, the "butter" chicken is neither buttery nor appealing in any way. Unfortunately, I'll only order it once.

Small Indian restaurant with very tasty typical Indian dishes. Lots of choice for vegetarians and vegans.

Used to be my favorite place for Indian food. Unfortunately, the quality has been fluctuating for some time. It happened that the Onion Bahji were simple onion rings. It can also happen that you end up with two completely different looking dishes if you choose the same thing on the menu some time apart. If you ask for slight changes, e.g. twice green sauce instead of once green and once sweet and sour, this will not be taken into account. And above all, this time the delivery was delayed by almost an hour compared to the estimated delivery time stated. The food is therefore lukewarm and especially Chicken Pakorah becomes very tough and is no longer really tasty.

Indian restaurant with a very extensive and well-structured menu that leaves nothing to be desired. Fast and friendly service. We were still able to eat at 9 p.m., which in itself deserves praise.

Super delicious food, always fresh and very tasty and served warm. Also good experiences with delivery. Meat is nice and tender. Portion is adequate. Price performance is good.

Ordered 15€ of food, portions are getting smaller and smaller. Example of butter chicken, 2 mini pieces of chicken, nothing else, a bit of sauce that isn't even enough for half a kilo of rice. For almost €13 it's outrageous. Ordered several times and always received less meat and sauce. Don't order here anymore.

We have never been as disappointed with our order as we were today. Shrimp dish came in a thin milk sauce, we didn't find any without curry or nuts. My partner then lent me some sauce from her dish. For dessert we had the rice pudding, which had no fruit or nuts, but everything was spilled and in plastic containers that melted from the heat. There was almost no rice in it either, just thin brows of noodles. All I received on the phone was a sorry, and that was it. Will not be ordering here again in the future.

Great food, lots of it and even cheaper at lunchtime

Very good food, price/performance is very good. Food was really flavorful. If you don't like it spicy, you should say so beforehand. We'd love to come back.

Phew! To say the best, the food was okay. Ideally suited for to go. The atmosphere was creepy! Too bright, sleek. Then there were a lot of people there to pick up. Everyone stood next to our table to wait, it was so uncomfortable. Then it was cold too. Service was slow. I can't understand the positive reviews 🤣

Das Essen schmeckt sehr lecker.

Wir bestellen hier oft (und essen regelmäßig im Restaurant) und sind vom Essen immer begeistert! Natürlich ist es etwas „eingedeutscht“, also nicht so scharf zB. Aber die Portionen sind sehr groß und das Mittagsangebot sehr günstig.

Jedes kleine Detail. Der Lieferservice klappt immer sehr gut. Wir bestellen dort relativ häufig Dieses Restaurant kann ich wirklich jeden empfehlen, der gerne indisches Essen mag!

Das erste Mal bestellt. Die angegebene Lieferzeit wurde praktisch auf die Minute eingehalten. Das Essen war aus unserer Sicht hervorragend. Das Naan ist selbstgemacht, das sieht man. Das Fleisch sehr zart und die Sossen einfach lecker. Wir werden definitiv wieder bestellen.

Das Ambiente ist nicht schön: grelle Beleuchtung, Glasplatten auf den Tischen. Stimmung wie im billigen Imbiss statt wie im Restaurant. Es gibt keinerlei Snacks vorweg. Das Essen schmeckt absolut nicht indisch, sehr deutsch. Wartezeit ewig lang. Die Bedienung ist sehr nett.

Wir haben bei gutem Wetter im Biergarten gegessen, das Essen ist ganz hervorragend. Der Service ist ebenfalls klasse, sehr sehr freundliche Menschen. Wir waren froh, draußen essen zu können, denn die Innenbeleuchtung war uns definitiv zu grell. Im Außenbereich war es sehr schön und wir freuen uns schon auf die nächsten sonnigen Tage, um wieder außen sitzen zu können. Das Taj können wir wärmstens weiterempfehlen

Essen hervorragend. Service und Ambiente ausbaufähig. Alles in allem aber empfehlenswert...

Essen war an sich ganz gut. Leider hatte ich dann die ganze Nacht mit Bauchschmerzen zu kämpfen. Die Bedienung war freundlich, jedoch hat sie etwas länger gebraucht. Was nicht so toll ist: der Tisch war total verklebt, auch die Speisekarten müssten mal abgewischt werden.

Ich war schon öfter im Lokal essen und habe auch schon liefern lassen. War jedes Mal rundum zufrieden. Man wird sehr freundlich bedient. Die Portionen sind groß und sehr lecker. Die Lieferungen kamen bisher immer auf die Minute pünktlich.

Wir hatten ein Vorspeisen Buffet für unsere Hochzeit bestellt und das war wirklich klasse Danke😀

Sieht sehr unscheinbar aus, aber es lohnt sich. Hier sind es die paar Kleinigkeiten welche das Restaurant ausmachen: Es ist alles frisch gemacht, das Lassi (salzig), das Naan (Masala) - kein Hefe Teig... Die Gerichte (Chicken Vindaloo, Chicken Masala) waren sehr gut gewürzt. Wer in der Nähe vorbeikommt es lohnt sich auch der Gang durch die "Stadt" Hersbruck

Nette Mitarbeiter, leckeres Essen und nettes Ambiente. Es gibt Toiletten und Preise sind ok. Man kann auch draußen sitzen oder bestellen. Manchmal gibt es auch ein All you can eat buffet. Haben auch vegane Speisen.

Absolut lecker, der Reis ist echt der Hammer! Sehr zu empfehlen! :)

Bollywood-Ambiente, sehr nettes Personal und köstliche Speisen zu sehr attraktiven Preisen.

Sehr leckeres Essen und äußerst zuvorkommender Service. Wird sicher nicht das letzte Abendessen dort gewesen sein.

Wir wurden sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend bedient. Papadums mit Dip als gratis Appetizer ist eine schöne Geste. Ausgezeichnete Auswahl auch an vegetarischen und veganen Gerichten (gerade Letzteres ist schwer zu finden in Hersbruck). Einfache Einrichtung und leider etwas grell ausgeleuchtet. Sonst sehr zu empfehlen!!

The restaurant serves tasty food at reasonable prices and in sufficient quantities. They have a very good choice of Indian food which they can prepare according to the customer's wish of spiciness. I liked their decoration as well as the good and interesting talk with the owner. I can highly recommend! Great lunch deals as well!

Wir lieben die indische Küche und hier wurden unsere Erwartungen übertroffen! Vorspeise Papadam gibt es umsonst als Vorspeisen mit indischen Soßen zum Dippen. Hauptgänge super lecker. Die Dame, die bedient, ist außerdem sehr kinderlieb! Wir kommen immer wieder gerne!

Ich kann diese ganzen Lobgesänge nicht verstehen. Vielleicht haben die ganzen Leute, die dieses Lokal und das, was hier serviert wird als lecker empfinden, niemals richtig gut indisch gegessen. Ich fand es weit unter Durchschnitt. Am Service und an dessen Freundlichkeit muss sehr gearbeitet werden und die Atmosphäre ist auch kein Hit. Da helfen auch die eigentlich guten Preise nicht. Denn selbst die sind für das, was geboten ist zu hoch. Zum Glück gibt es wesentlich bessere Alternativen in der Gegend. Keine Empfehlung meinerseits.

I was skeptical about an Indian restaurant in a small Bavarian town but oh my what wonderful food! This restaurant is bright and beautifully decorated. The serving dishes and silverware were lovely. Our food and service were exceptional. Our vegan daughter was easily accommodated as well. We plan on being regular customers.

Ich habe selbst 7 Jahre in Indien gelebt, aber das Essen hier ist bestenfalls deutsch-indisch. Keine Aromen, kein Geschmack. Viel Rind/Beef in der Karte. Geht gar nicht.

Apparently a small town in the middle of Franconian hills can also host a real Indian restaurant with good choice of dishes prepared with fresh ingredients. I could only have my doubts whether the chutneys to go with the papadam were made in-house (probably not) but the main dish tasted very good. When eavesdropping on other guests one realises that "Taj" is chosen because of its vegetarian/vegan offer. The okra in tomato-onion sauce was delicious and it went with one of the best rices I've had so far. Everything served almost too fast but definitely freshly done. Mukwahs-digestives came in three different types and multiple colours. The prices are extremely democratic. The only drawback was trying to order by naming the dish and waiter rephrases it with numbers. More fast-food style in this case.

Sehr leckeres Essen mit einem freundlichem Service. Die Zubereitung der Speisen ist sehr authentisch und frisch. Würde man in Hersbruck jetzt nicht unbedingt erwarten. Zu empfehlen mit einem sehr angemessenen Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis.

Die frage ist was will man. Wenn es um die optik geht wirkt das taj eher wie ein imbiss. Wenn man allerdings wegen dem essen in ein restaurant geht ist man hier richtig. Wir hatten 2 empfehlungen des hauses genommen die der original indischen küche am nahesten kommen. Diese wahren echt genial und frisch. Ich würde es jedem empfehlen. Ist natürlich immer eine geschmackssache.

Einfach sehr gutes indisches Restaurant - einziges kleines Manko, die Auswahl vegetarischer Speisen könnte etwas größer sein. Und wer Bollywood Ambiente sucht muss dann doch nach Nürnberg, Taj sieht eher nach normaler Gaststätte aus. Ich mag das. Preis/Leistung ist super.

Ausgezeichnet . Die Küche verdient ein Lob und sucht seines gleichen. Hier kann man gut Essen und genießen.

Fleisch über dem Garpunkt hinaus. Die Nüsse , die Ananas und das Hähnchenfleisch konnte man suchen. Geschmacklich ok, aber auch nicht mehr. Salat indiskutabel. Wenn ich indisch essen gehe dann erwarte auch indisch zu erleben. Preis-Leistung schlecht.

So stelle ich mir ein indisches Restaurant vor! Einrichtung ist modern indisch angehaucht, sehr angenehm und nicht überladen. Als alleinreisende Frau ist es oft schwer einen guten Tisch zu bekommen. Nicht in diesem Lokal. Der Service ist ausgesprochen höflich und angenehm. Das strahlende Gesicht der netten indischen Dame läd zum Bleiben ein. Die Karte ist sehr gut aufgebaut, ich verließ mich auf die Empfehlung vom Service und ich wurde reich belohnt. Ein sehr leckeres Brot mit einem Chicken Tikka Masala, machte mich richtig glücklich. Sehr schön ist die Präsentation der Gerichte die traditionell in indischem Geschirr serviert werden. Mein neidvoller Blick wanderte auf die Nachbartische und sehr gern hätte ich alle gefragt was sie essen und wie es schmeckt ;-). Die Preise sind absolut in Ordnung, sogar für soviel Handarbeit etwas zu niedrig. Leider konnte ich keine Nachspeise genießen, denn die Gerichte sind nicht klein.Doch das Haus hat eine sehr gute Überraschung für Sie zum Abschluß. Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder!
