A small but excellent Indian restaurant. The food is incredibly delicious; I had Chicken Madras, which was just a bit spicy for my sensitive palate, but highly recommended for anyone who loves that kind of heat or doesn't mind it. Unfortunately, the restaurant is not wheelchair accessible. The staff is very friendly and efficient. If I ever come back to Kissingen, I will definitely eat there again.

We had naan bread, tikka masala, and chicken vindaloo. Absolutely fantastic, tasted really delicious. If you like it a bit spicier, the chicken vindaloo is a great choice.

I enjoyed a Tandoori Mix with garlic naan, a chai, and, as a must-try, the Old Monk, which was the perfect ending. The price was absolutely reasonable, and the food was incredibly fresh. We hesitated for a long time at first, since we love our favorite Indian restaurant in Freising. We go up there twice a year for vacation, and we finally let ourselves be persuaded and tried this restaurant. It was a great choice! I've never eaten such well-seasoned Palak Paneer anywhere else! Better than at home?! 😱 Absolutely delicious! The Chicken Korma was also very good! The Mango Lassi was, of course, also very tasty! What struck me was the lovely, understated ambiance. The restaurant is located in a historic, old building, yet inside it's bright and pleasantly decorated. Nothing cluttered like you usually find. We were there for lunch, but I can easily imagine going there for a nice dinner in the evening. The waiter was very attentive and friendly. We're already looking forward to our next visit! ♥️

Authentic Indian cuisine. The food was perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. Service was attentive and quick. The beautiful half-timbered house (1680) is also a real eye-catcher.

This also suggests that the overall rating is likely heavily inflated, as other negative reviews have probably already been deleted or are currently in the process of being deleted. It's a shame that the restaurant owners treat constructive criticism this way and try to label negative points as "defamation." This has nothing to do with defamation; it's constructive criticism that simply describes one's own experience. ========================== We ate there a week ago because we were meeting friends and wanted to have a nice evening. First, the positives: The restaurant is centrally located right on the market square. There is outdoor seating for the summer. Inside, it's rather "rustic," meaning that the furnishings from the previous restaurant were largely retained. There's no real Indian atmosphere, but that's not a big deal. All in all, it's cozy. Negatives: The absolute deal-breaker was that they ran out of naan bread early in the evening. I've been to at least 30 different Indian restaurants, and the vast majority were always packed, but I've never experienced a place suddenly running out of naan bread. It's one of the essential side dishes of Indian cuisine. We were really disappointed. (Note: I've been there before, and I don't think the naan is made in a tandoor, as it looks quite round, and the browning suggests it's pan-fried.) Furthermore, the service that evening was really poor. This wasn't due to the restaurant being extremely crowded and understaffed. The people walking around simply weren't service-oriented and were very relaxed and slow. Somehow, no one ever noticed that our glasses had been empty for 30 minutes, even though the waiters walked right past us several times. Furthermore, the entire meal took a very long time (one hour between the appetizer and the main course). No one offered us dessert. Additionally, the meat in the appetizer was cold, even though it was supposed to be cooked in the tandoor. Sorry, but this is simply not how Indian cuisine should be. We will not be coming back.

I went there for dinner on Monday with two friends. Our reservation worked out perfectly; without it, we wouldn't have been able to get a table that day. The atmosphere was very pleasant, and I immediately asked the waiter who showed us to our table if he could bring me something sugary to drink, as I'm diabetic. I was served in less than a minute! Thank you again for that! 1+ star. When it came time to order, I was a bit overwhelmed and ordered two appetizers. The waiter pointed this out to me, and I ordered the correct ones – very thoughtful. We ordered various breads, two different starter soups, and two main courses, which we shared, and that wasn't a problem at all since there were three of us! The food was consistently excellent, everything very flavorful and not too bland. But the homemade mint sauce was the absolute highlight! Ladies and gentlemen, that alone is worth the trip!

The food is absolutely sensational! I've been going there for several years now because it's by far the best Indian restaurant. I travel all the way from Hesse for it, at least once a month, more often twice. 😀 The owners and staff are very welcoming and incredibly kind. You always feel warmly welcomed.

Very good! It's not particularly spicy, but I'm sure it can be made spicier upon request.

We eat here regularly; it's always a delight, a true explosion of flavor. It's definitely the best Indian restaurant for miles around. We even come all the way from the Sinntal valley to eat there. If you like delicious sauces with, for example, chicken, I recommend the Butter Chicken, Chicken Madras, and Tikka Masala, and definitely order the Garlic Naan Bread with it.

Stumbled upon a very good Indian restaurant in a quaint town, and it turned out to be a hidden gem that exceeded our expectations. The paneer butter masala was a delightful surprise, with its creamy texture and robust flavors. The mango lassi complemented the meal perfectly, offering a refreshing and rich taste that was simply irresistible. Both dishes were super delicious and made our visit memorable. We ate at Taj Curry House for the first time last weekend after hearing so many good things about their food, and it was fantastic! The taste was simply amazing! Highly recommended! We had the Navratan Korma and Butter Chicken. Both were delicious. We'll definitely be back!

Our absolute favorite Indian restaurant. We've eaten Indian food in various countries and cities, but Taj Curry House remains our top choice. Authentic Indian cuisine, wonderful service, warm and welcoming owners – everything is simply perfect. We're happy to drive an hour for it.

In my opinion, there are better places in the city for the price-performance ratio and especially the ambiance. The ambiance doesn't really remind you of India. Service ranges from average to unfriendly.

We spontaneously got a spot on the balcony here during a trip to Bad Kissingen, and it was simply fantastic. The service was very friendly and the food was simply fantastic.

First-class Indian food. My wife and I were both delighted. Great taste, very good quality vegetables, rice, and meat. The quantity was very generous – even for a larger appetite, yet pleasantly light. The service was very good, attentive, and flexible. There was no extra charge for ordering the curry sauce. We sat on the small balcony in the pedestrian zone and were able to observe the hustle and bustle in peace. A large awning protected us from the sun and light rain showers. The ambiance is very pleasant thanks to the perfect manners, the professionalism in serving and setting, and the beautiful white linen for the napkins and tablecloths. The copper vessels for the main course and rice also match the decor. The prices are completely reasonable for the quality and correspond to the usual standard in Bad Kissingen. We highly recommend this fantastic restaurant and will definitely return on our next vacation.

It was my regular restaurant, and the food was absolutely delicious. Very good and attentive service (as always! The waiter knows his stuff). A prawn cocktail that left nothing to be desired. If you're planning a larger group, it's definitely worth making a reservation, as the restaurant gets quite busy. We didn't have to wait long for our food, and they don't use artificial flavor enhancers in their food. Very good! This is one of the best Indian restaurants I have ever been to! To be honest, I wasn’t expecting it to be this good — but the food was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. The waiters were friendly and kind, and it’s a lovely spot to sit outside when the weather is nice. Especially considering that this restaurant is here in Bad Kissingen, it was a very pleasant surprise! I highly recommend the Naan bread and the Tandoori chicken, which is marinated for 24 hours.

I ordered lamb and rice Unfortunately, the pieces of lamb were only warmed with a microwave because they were hard and dry. The cook probably wanted to go home and didn't feel like it. The money was really too good for me. The lamb must be fried until tender and slightly pink.

The portions are very generous. The restaurant was very busy at lunchtime and without a reservation it is difficult to get a seat. We will be happy to come back. I can only recommend the restaurant!

We were there yesterday in a small group and felt very comfortable, although the waitresses all seemed very serious. The food came quickly and tasted good to very good to all of us. The dessert alone, Ras Malai, was completely different than in the photo (lots of balls, pistachios, lots of sauce and saffron threads). Unfortunately I didn't take a photo of it. Our dessert was completely white, with almost no pistachios and no saffron, basically exactly as shown on the menu...

We went to the Taj Curry House today based on several recommendations. The service is great, but that doesn't compare to the outstanding Indian food. It was super tasty and we can wholeheartedly recommend the restaurant. If you want authentic Indian food, this is the place for you!

It's always worth a visit. Great, delicious food accompanied by great service, attentive staff and a great ambience. The "very spicy" food could be a little spicier, but I think it is still well suited to the German palate. 👍 You simply have the feeling, which has become very rare these days, that you are simply being served by professionals.

I was there for the first time today with a friend. Despite having a reservation, we had to wait about 5 minutes for our table, but in my opinion that was completely acceptable. The food was ready super quickly and tasted very good. My friend found her dish too spicy and had no problem remaking it. It was a bit noisy in the dining room itself, but that was due to the number of people there. All in all, really highly recommended. I had an Ipanema and number 13 as a starter and number 33 as a main course. The prices are more than fair.
