Usually packed...not really a place to linger; you get the impression it's all about eating and leaving...the next person is waiting. The atmosphere is quite nice...prices are rather upper-middle range. The staff is friendly and quick; as soon as you sit down, you're served...until you're stuffed...first in a glass, then in a pot...German language skills are rather poor...the food is plentiful...extensive menu...the atmosphere isn't really Greek...the food tastes okay.

Greek food, just as we know it, nothing more and nothing less, but a bit overpriced. The ambiance was okay. No inquiries about our satisfaction or whether we wanted more drinks, and they forgot to order our drinks. The service could be improved. It felt like we were being processed. Even the copious amounts of ouzo didn't help. I primarily go to a restaurant to eat, not to drink. We were just there once.

The food is OK, standard dishes, nothing special. The atmosphere could be more comfortable; a large room with a winter garden, the acoustics are already bordering on comfortable dining. The server was attentive.

Very friendly staff and the food is excellent. I always get the fillet platter. It tastes excellent. It always comes with a small salad and a glass of ouzo to start. Enjoy.

This is by far the best Greek restaurant in the Helmstedt district. We've been regulars since it reopened and eat here at least six times a month. No matter what others say: The service and food are always excellent. We've never had a bad meal here and will continue to be regulars. An absolute asset to Helmstedt's gastronomy scene.

Food is good but credit cards are not accepted

You sit here for two hours and aren't even asked for another drink. I ordered the fish platter. Unfortunately, everything was breaded. It wasn't listed that way on the menu. Everything was completely flavorless. Squid rings were like rubber. Shrimp were hard as rocks. Salad was unseasoned with a cheap mayo sauce. The broccoli was way too cooked and oversalted.

The food was fine, it's just a shame they had some silly story about me only being able to pay in cash. I even managed to use my debit card at a monastery on a mountain in Mallorca, but these guys wouldn't let me? So strange. Apparently, they're making some dirty money. They're crooks here.

We spontaneously decided to have dinner at Syrtaki Helmstedt. The service was pleasant and friendly from start to finish. We started with a glass of ouzo, and with the meal, two carafes were brought to the table (ouzo and non-alcoholic drinks for the kids). As for the food itself, all I can say is that it's plentiful and of very good quality. The meat is tender and juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked to perfection. Reservations are recommended, as it's particularly busy on weekends.

The food was delicious. The staff was friendly, and at 5 p.m. it was still quiet and there weren't many customers. It was cozy and peaceful.

The four of us waited 1.5 hours for our food. It was cold and really not good, tough, full of greasy pieces, and not worth the price. The taste was bad, the fries were cold, and the salad looked like it was from the 70s. Service was mediocre, as even ordering took forever. It was our first and last visit, never again. There are better options for €12, and they're delicious.

excellent food, watch out as the portions are quite generous. very reasonable pricing (starter, 2 mains, drinks left 2 of us at under 60€), and as said, with very good quality food indeed. just in case, be prepared to have cash (somehow german EC terminals not always accept other bank cards). staff is absolutely great and helpful. top marks, will visit again!

The food is very good. The service is friendly, attentive, and fast. The newly designed outdoor area has created additional space, yet the kitchen is still able to serve the increased number of customers quickly. Before the meal, the obligatory ouzo is served, which is then complemented by a small carafe as a complimentary gift. Therefore, it's best to either walk here or take a driver who doesn't like ouzo. 😉

Will not come again They will not take VISA cards even though they say they take credit cards. We were kicked out of our table. When a large group came. Look at it positively, it can only get better on vacation. This is where we hit rock bottom.

This was our first time there. The food was very good and far too plentiful. We couldn't finish it all, so we took the rest with us. The staff is very friendly and attentive. They serve plenty of ouzo on the house. It was very busy when we were there, and accordingly, it was also very loud. We're looking forward to warmer temperatures, when it's nice to sit outside. We highly recommend the restaurant and would be happy to return.

Stopped here by chance on the way home and was pleasantly surprised. Ambiance is just a tennis club. But you can accept that. The food came quickly, good portions and tasty. A little too much garlic in the tzatziki, but that was just our taste. Many people also came to pick up food. This was also handled quickly. The service is very friendly and we have never had ouzo delivered to us to fill up ourselves. Even our son got a jug of children's soda for free. Even though it was Easter and lunchtime, we got a table. The only small drawback is that it is not barrier-free, as the path to the restaurant has steps and the toilet in the basement also has to be climbed with stairs. We had a great restaurant experience here.

It was our first time at this restaurant and we were not disappointed. The food was TOP, the service was friendly and quick. Individual changes to selected grill plates were also implemented without any problems. We'd love to come back...

We regularly come to Syrtaki to eat on an irregular basis. The restaurant is part of the tennis facility with a partial view of the tennis hall or the tennis courts. The toilets, like the restaurant, are very well maintained and make a very clean impression. The employees are attentive, courteous and not overly friendly. The food was always very good and beautifully prepared. The menu includes the classics of Greek cuisine as well as something unusual. The tzatziki and the green ouzo mix deserve special mention. As already mentioned, I definitely need the manufacturer of the tzatziki if it were out of the bucket 🤣

We usually eat here once a month because it is simply the best Greek in the area. The portions are large, the food tastes great and the service is great too. At the beginning you get an Ouzo shot and with your meal you get a carafe of Ouzo. The drinks also come in a decent size. I encourage everyone who lives in the Helmstedt area to eat here once.

Tasty food could be a less spicy one. Food came very quickly. Unfortunately, I got fries with it even though I specifically canceled them. But they immediately added rice and apologized. It's also nice that you get a pot of ouzu or raki with it. The prices are really more than okay for the portions. Very nice atmosphere thanks to the tennis hall next door

Super tasty We regularly come to HE with several people from BS to play disc golf, including in the small Piepenbrink Park... a visit to the Syrtaki is always planned. If the tzatziki comes out of the bucket, I definitely have to know the manufacturer🤤 Any time again🤩

Were there on Wednesday and had a table until 8 p.m. We were asked to leave at 29:00. We had already finished eating, but would have liked to drink something more. The food was partly frozen goods, such as the potato wedges and beef ki. For this price, it shouldn't be available. For me it was a takeaway and not a restaurant. Never again

Food was mostly good, restaurant in Hötensleben was better in my opinion. Staff a bit overwhelmed, six dishes ordered, two with wrong side dishes or completely different dish. Some of the fries weren't crispy. Ambience tried hard, but it is still a tennis hall.

I can only recommend it if you are in Helmstedt.

Went there yesterday with friends, the order went quickly, but when I order a starter I want to enjoy it in peace and not have the main course come together with the starter and the salad, especially since the table was far too small for that. The service had to point out that the empty dishes had been taken away. Drinks were not requested. A friend took his time eating and enjoyed the meal, trying three times to clear the plate. That doesn't work at all. We won't come again.

Three of us were there for lunch today. The best meal we've been served in a long time! Mega tasty and large portions. We all had the same opinion.

Picked up and ate there a few times. The quality and quantity are consistently very good. Dining on the terrace in the fresh air in summer is fantastic. 1/2 of my favorite Greeks in Helmstedt. The second one is near the town hall. 😉 I'm not a vegetarian, but I think there's something for everyone. Parking can sometimes be difficult, especially when there is a tennis tournament taking place. Last but not least... not only is it child-friendly, you can also bring your furry friend(s). 5☆

However, the tzatziki is refined with such a high dose of garlic that communication with other people is not possible for a period of two to three days. The intense smell is intolerable for most people, which is why caution is advised. The service was attentive at first, but then dropped off considerably. Delicious food (gyros with fried calamari - I love this combination ❤️), with a cold beer. The terrace area is quiet and very pleasant, I could spend hours here. The service is friendly, competent, attentive and pleasantly reserved. Gladly again!

We went here because of the good reviews. The service was a bit below average, the incorrectly delivered starter still appeared on the bill. Nevertheless, the staff was friendly. The location is good. Unfortunately, the food was below average for both the starter and the main course.

Yes, disappointed at the beginning because the reservation over the phone didn't work. They still gave us a place according to our expectations. The food was ok for all of us. My meal was great lamb fillet in Metaxa sauce No.77. But the prices are... in my opinion, crazy even though the portions are good.

The food was really fantastic, the service was very good. However, we urgently need to work on the cleanliness of the toilets. Yes, the toilets are shared with the tennis court visitors, but the way the toilets looked when we visited, that should not be the case in any way. Unfortunately, this left a very bad impression, even though the restaurant was really good.

This restaurant is one of the best in Helmstedt. Seniors also get their money's worth. As a senior you don't have that much anymore and we manage well when we're a little hungry. Excellent cuisine.

I already knew the Syrtaki Restaurant in Hötensleben. I therefore had high expectations, as the restaurant in Hötensleben has already impressed me several times. The food was great, the service was great and the prices were okay. There were also the classic Ouzo carafes. All in all highly recommended.
