They really do a good job of calamari and gyros here, and it's especially cool that they offer warm food all day long! The staff is friendly, prices are right too! The tomato salad was a flop, but that wasn't why I was here.

Are otherwise in the Syrtaki Restaurant and came here on a recommendation. After waiting 10 minutes and letting us know that we would like to order, we were able to place our order. The food came in a reasonable time, but I was shocked at the small portions we were served for this price. The liver was completely burnt and looked like a knocked shoe sole, the rice was watery, bland and mushy. The side salad was just topped so that the plate was lightly covered. 1 slice of cucumber, 1 small Piece of tomato. Also quite unloving. The souvlaki pies were completely fine. It was all very disappointing and so the plate was returned at least half full. In my opinion, this is not a restaurant, but rather a pub where warm food is offered and when you pay, the landlord sleeps in the shop and throws a Duplo on the counter after the bill 😂 So once and never again... Stay at our very great and mega delicious Syrtaki Restaurant.

Super delicious food, the world's best tzatziki. Costa and his family have been running the restaurant for several decades. You are always greeted warmly and served very, very nicely. Unfortunately you can only pay in cash here, but if you know that it's not a problem. We really enjoy coming here. In summer you can also sit outside

After all the restaurants in our city closed on Monday lunchtime, we went to Helmstedt. Our 29 is also available there in the usual size and afterwards you would be treated to ouzo, something that has apparently been abolished in the local Greeks.

Good experience! My partner & I took the mixed grill for 2 persons which was €40,00. The amount of meat was perfect for the 2 of us! The Tzatziki was definitely home-made and full of taste! A lot of garlic, standard in Germany 😂 they don't use it that often in the Netherlands. The temperature in the restaurant was the only thing bothering us, it was high. The staff doesn't speak English so we had to translate to Germany. No problem for us, just a little side note. The taste of the food was perfect, only we didn't like the liver. They don't serve the in the Netherlands at Greek restaurants, happy they don't haha! That's just a matter of taste tho. 🤪 Also they serve 0,5L soda's! That's amazing. Long story short: Good food, good prices, hot restaurant when temp outside is a little bit high, and a lot of choice!

Waitress was quite unfriendly, food was good. Waiting times for the bill/drinks were relatively long... even though it was quite empty.

It's simply become too expensive, you have to pay extra for almost everything that was normally included with a gyro plate. We used to go there several times, but we've been avoiding going there for about two years.

This was a rather simple meal with very little sophistication. A simple salad as a starter and souvlaki with French fries were a bit modest and would have belonged in a snack bar.

So far the food has always been great. Costa and his family are typically Grischich. Unfortunately, with the last two orders, the rice was no longer what we were used to. Otherwise everything is great.

Eat good, Service OK, Ambience good

This is simply nothing more than a pub with hot food. If you have three per mille in your head, you won't complain about the food. I had a grill plate on which the liver was freshly grilled. The meat was kept warm and therefore wobbly and soft and seasoned without salt so that it doesn't dry out so quickly. The rice was more of a watery risotto. The gyro meat was probably cut down so that it was already brown and crispy and then kept warm. The starter salad was so warm, it must have been prepared in the warm kitchen for a long time. Well, I still wanted to stay a while and drink a good beer, but without being asked I was presented with the bill with an ouzo and old Duplo. Before I could say that I wanted to stay, the landlord or cook already wished me a happy Pentecost.

Athens is a great restaurant, you are always greeted in a friendly manner, the food is incredibly delicious, the tzatziki is a dream. The decor gives you the feeling of being in Greece. The price is really really cheap. I can only recommend it.

The food is freshly prepared and lovingly prepared. Friendly service and very attentive, instead of an ouzo I was given chocolate as a pregnant woman (very attentive and warm). We would like to thank you for the delicious food and the warmth and can only recommend it to everyone. The toilets are super clean and you can even use a wide range of hygiene products from deodorant to hygiene products for women :)

Small authentic Greek restaurant in Helmstedt. The owners come from Greece and are therefore warm to all guests. As you know it from Greece. The menu is large and the tzatziki is legendary (garlic bomb 🤤). The ambience in the restaurant is pleasant, but can also be a little louder. There is a bar in the front area and the tables in the back area. In summer there are tables outside where you can eat. The restaurant is open 364 days a year. So daily from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (kitchen until 9:00 p.m.); only on December 24th. treat yourself to a day of rest.

Price-performance is right. Unfortunately only cash payment.

I've been in HE often for work for years and almost always go to Kostas and his family for lunch. I usually look forward to it days in advance. Good portions, everything hot and filling. The Tzaziki 1a, meat always well done, the liver very soft. Reasonably priced for these days. Only recommended.

I've been eating there every now and then for 27 years and I still really enjoy it. Food is just really delicious.

Super nice atmosphere, even the dog was allowed into the restaurant...The tzatziki makes the "garlic heart" beat faster...super tasty.. Preparation and portion is just right. And the son of the house, full of heart. LG. :)) P.S. The 6 star is from my husband.

Super lecker! Wir waren zu einem Geburtstag hier. Essen wurde, trotz vieler Personen, sehr schnell nach der Bestellung gebracht. Es hat allen sehr gut geschmeckt. Sogar den Kindern. :)

Das Essen ist einfach Klasse! Seid langem Mal wieder dort gegessen. Alles wie früher das ist auch gut so. Das Restaurant ist schon Kult.

Habe den Lieferservice genutzt. Das Essen war sehr gut! Ob Fleisch, Reis, Pommes, Salat oder das super leckere Tzatziki - alles sehr köstlich und es kam lecker angerichtet und perfekt warm an. Kann ich unbedingt weiterempfehlen

Tolles preiswertes griechisches Restaurant. Grosse Portionen. Hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Sehr nette Bedienung. Volle Punktzahl. Ich war am Tag vorher in einem Restaurant ,griechisch, in Amsterdam: 200 euro für 3 Personen und nicht authentisch...da war das Athen ein richtiges Highlite!

Essen super, moderate Preise, Restaurant allerdings in die Jahre gekommen, somit wirkt es etwas schmuddelig und könnte eine Renovierung gebrauchen

Sehr Lecker Essen Nettes Personal Alles Super Gerne Wieder

Waren spontan da und haben einen Tisch bekommen. Kellnerin war nett, wirkte aber teilweise ein wenig gestresst. Kartenzahlung nicht möglich, hat uns ein wenig überrascht. Ansonsten lecker

Nach dem wir einen Tisch bekommen hatten, wurde uns gleich ein Zettel hingelegt. "Reserviert 18:00uhr" . Gut das wir gegen 16:30 Uhr fertig mit Essen waren, doch da kam schon der nächte Zettel " Reserviert 17:15 Uhr 3 Personen". Sowas habe ich dort noch nie erlebt.

Frisch zubereitet und lecker. Eigentlich wollten wir nur eine Kleinigkeit zu uns nehmen, haben also "nur" ein Fladenbrot mit Gyros bzw. Feta und einmal einen kleinen Bauernsalat bzw. eine Portion Pommes Fries bestellt. Beides war nicht zu schaffen. Lecker aber viel zu viel. Einziger Schwachpunkt ist die Lage, direkt an einer vielbefahrenen Straße halt. Gerne noch einmal, aber dann nur das eine oder andere.

Das Essen kommt nach kurzer Zeit und schmeckt.

Das erste Mal bei Costa in Helmstedt gewesen. Gyros frisch vom Spieß und lecker...kross und saftig. Souvlaki zart und gut gegrillt, angenehm würzig. Jaaa....und das Zaziki (mit heißem Fladenbrot) eine Klasse für sich, bombastisch. Die Preise zu den Portionen sind bei der Qualität voll akzeptabel. Und der Service war sehr nett mit griechischer Herzlichkeit. 🇬🇷 Wir werden wiederkommen.

Nicht so berauschend ist mehr Kneipen Ambiente mit etwas einfachem Essen hauptsächlich alles mit Gyros und pommes der Reis sehr fade und Fleisch Qualität sehr billig das Fladenbrot Brot war heiß und sehr hart preis Leistung nicht gerechtfertigt mit billiger Cola fast Kohlensäure raus hat uns nicht geschmeckt dort als Restaurant nicht sehr zu empfehlen nur als Kneipe zum verweilen und trinken ist es ok

Sind zufällig auf der Durchreise hier gelandet. Bester Grieche ever!! Sehr sehr lecker und super nette Leute.

Wir wurden von dem super netten Chef KOSTAS lustig empfangen und bedient. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet. Das warme Fladenbrot und der Zaziki sensationell. Wir werden auf alle Fälle wiederkommen. Dieses Restaurant ist absolut empfehlenswert.

Costa gehört zu Helmstedt wie der Hausmannsturm. Ein Helmstedter Original. Für uns das beste Gyros, der beste Zaziki weit und breit. Daher kommen wir gerne immer wieder.

Also es ist mega schön dort, alle sind so freundlich und gehen freundlich mit Kindern um. Es schmeckt sehr gut! Die Preise sind auch in Ordnung. Top Service. Also ich kann es sehr Empfehlen. Und wenn mal was falsch ist, dann machen sie es richtig.

Wir sind zum ersten Mal hier gewesen, weil unser Lieblingsgrieche in Königslutter zur Zeit Urlaub hat. Der Zaziki hat uns voll überzeugt, bisher der Beste, den ich je gegessen habe. Das Souvlaki war ausgezeichnet, sehr saftig, und auch das überbackene Schweinefilet war sehr lecker. Der Service ist sehr gut, sehr freundliche Bedienung, das Essen kam sehr schnell. Im Restaurant selbst ist es sehr gemütlich. Wir kommen bestimmt bald wieder.

Super nette Bedienung, die Bestellung prompt. Gyros-teller und griechischer fleischspieß. Das Essen kommt in kurzer Zeit. Das Essen es ist gut gewürzt und schmeckt. Zum Schluss ein Ouzo.

Was fuer eine Ueberraschung! Sehr leckeres und qualitativ sehr gutes Essen. Vorher ein Tatjiki-Salat und danach Gyros. Besonders war der 0,5 Liter Rotwein trocken. Mit Sorgfalt ausgewählt. Toiletten sehr gut ausgestattet, schön und sauber. Wir sind sehr zufrieden mit dieser Umleitung von der Autobahn auf der Durchreise.

Niedliches, gemütliches Restaurant mit sehr netter Bedienung

Sehr sehr leckeres Essen mit allem, was das Herz begehrt. Der Zaziki, Grillteller Kavala und Salat sind wirklich ausgesprochen gut und toll gewürzt! Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder 🤩 Den Rauchgeruch, der unten beschrieben wird, haben wir überhaupt gar nicht mitkommen, obwohl wir darauf sonst auch reagiert hätten. Ja, es ist kein Schickimicki, aber wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Die Mitarbeiter sind super freundlich und aufmerksam.

Essen kam kalt nach. 1,5 std an nicht mal eine kleine nette Entschuldigung. Musste 3 mal hinterher telefonieren der Tzatziki war sämig ölig essen kalt. Naja vor 1 jahr war es besser Qualität hat extrem nachgelasen leider. Waren mal sehr begeistert...schade drum

Zaziki mit warmen Brot vorweg hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Das Essen war mir zu sehr in Öl schwimmend. Der Beilagen Salat langweilig. Metaxasosse habe ich nicht erkannt! Obwohl alle sehr nett waren, störte mich die Fehlende Aufmerksamkeit um bestellen zu können. Preise sind günstig.

Wir waren seit langem mal wieder essen, und ich hab schon lange nicht mehr sowas gehabt. Der Salat war für mich alles andere wie ansprechend , die Pommes waren fade und das Essen hat geschwommen vor Öl . Ich muss sagen das ich lange bei einem Griechen gearbeitet habe , und überbacken heißt nicht das es im Öl versinkt. Hier gehen wir definitiv nicht wieder essen .

Stopped by on our way to the Uk. The Owner is this friendly , funny welcoming guy, who didn't speak English, but somehow we managed to understand eachother. He reccomended this dish to share for my partner and I, and it was really delicious, and rhe Tzatziki is hands down the best I ever tried. Customer level 100%, we were really pleased with oir visit. If you are ever in the area this restaurant is a must try. We were left impressed with everything , and I believe if you want to try proper Greek cuisine this is the place to stop by ! Such a kind person, we were offered Ouzo (not sure if that' s the correct spelling) but we had to refuse as we were driving, so he then gave us a bottle of wine to take home.
