Hello everyone, today I was eating with my wife in the restaurant, we were super happy until I got the bill. I ordered 4 beers and the bill said 5 beers, I asked the waiter straight away why it says 5 on the note, he was so cheeky and said just like that, he marked it on the cheese in the system and I told him clearly once said that we only ordered 4. He asked me to provide proof, which I find ridiculous. I went to a Drau at the bar and said the same thing again, I was told it all depends on the waiter because he makes the marking or beer order. I said clearly and clearly that it wasn't about the €3.50 for the drink but about principle and honesty towards customers. In summary, I have been eating in various restaurants in Bonn, Beuel and Godesberg once a week for more than 30 years and still do None of them hit me over the head. I noticed how the waiter asked the nice group of men at the neighboring table to stop playing cards in such an unfriendly manner that I was downright shocked. I have rarely experienced something so unfriendly. And they just played cards and also ordered and consumed food and drinks. The service to the customer can be described as poor at best.

The worst experience in terms of service I ever had. The staff was not friendly, we ate there with 11 people and because 2 people did not order food we received very disappointing service and angry attitudes. The waiter gave annoyed responses to questions about the menue items, literally banged the food on the table and complained loudly about it when we asked to pay separate even though we said that in the beginning when he asked. We will never step foot in this restaurant ever again, there are plenty of better, cheaper and friendlier places around!

The brewhouse was a Bonn institution that I was taken to as a child. We were there today and all in all the food is unfortunately below average. - everything was a bit too salty - the meat was tough and sometimes had a slightly sour aftertaste. - The fries came from an oil that should probably be replaced slowly The positive aspects are the atmosphere in the restaurant, the friendliness of the wait staff and the fact that the food is actually very nicely prepared. But as I said, the taste left a lot to be desired.

Despite arriving rather late, we were particularly well received! The dishes, which we had taken care to choose typical of local gastronomy, turned out to be very good. The bill was the last good surprise, turning out to be very reasonable. Another good memory from Bonn.

I don't mean to disparage all the staff, but an older gentleman who tended the outside tables was one of the rudest people I've ever met. No "Hello" (not even in response to my happy hello), not even a smile.

Just wanted to eat something sensible! But the plate wasn't clean, the lumberjack steak was tough and puny, the onions were just muddy mush, and instead of putting the fried potatoes on the plate, they came separately! You could have swapped them with the coleslaw, which was on the plate and warm! In terms of taste, everything was very simple and bland! The cook could easily reach for the spice rack. Ketchup, mayo and mustard were on the table in mini packs, and pepper and salt were the same, from the store directly in the packaging on the table! The beer had a sticky aftertaste! And to the great surprise, there was also a dog in the restaurant! Our service was nice and friendly!

It was definitely better in the past, but now - AND especially for the price - absolutely inedible. The lumpy “hunter’s sauce” with the schnitzel (see photo) was an absolute disgrace and had the consistency of failed pudding. Despite complaints or dissatisfaction, there was no response. The schnitzel can hardly be described as such either. It was more like a pork steak with roasted aromas. Super light and unbreaded. We were more concerned about whether everything was through. The fried potatoes were more like boiled potatoes and the bacon-wrapped beans were not fried. The salad with the schnitzel was partly dark and shrunken. After all, it took a maximum of 10 minutes to eat, what more could you expect? I'd rather wait longer for my food and then have something edible. And at the end we received a sentence “and I will now be punished for it” because we only gave a small tip for it. As Bonn residents, we used to love it - but never ever again.

The location is called “Im Sudhaus”. You would think that everything is ok when it comes to beer. But when I notice that JEVER is served in wheat beer glasses, I find that extremely worrying. Unfortunately, a type of beer that was on the menu wasn't available. However, the food was good and tasted great! The Kölsch was also served in the right glasses. Service was attentive and nice.

Unbelievable racist waiter! Me and my two other colleagues went there for lunch. One of our colleague was German and two of you other nationalities with basic German. First incident he was correcting my pronunciation, I said him as I am not German I can’t have proper pronunciation. Second incident immediately later my colleague asked for tea and he showed name of the restaurant saying that its bier house. My colleague asked very politely we are in work break is it possible to have and he laughed loudly in very funny way. 3rd incident my colleague had hair on her meal, no apoplectic behavior. Then new waiter came my colleague asked for separate bill but he reacted very very badly and said coming later. I can see in other reviews it’s happening from years. We go to restaurants to have good time not to ruin our day and mood. In case you have problem with non German then please put an sign board that no one else face this 🫶🏼 We regret that we were on break and was in hurry, we should have take legal action immediately. First of all, perhaps you should think about serving the knuckle with a dark sauce. But in the end, nothing helps when a knuckle like that ends up on your plate. Eine Empfehlung meines Hotels. Als erstes habe ich mir eine Spargelcremesuppe gegönnt. Dann gab es den Bonner Hackbraten. Da lagen drei dicke Scheiben und reichlich Kartoffeln auf dem Teller. Dazu gab es Erbsen und Möhren Gemüse. Zum Schluss noch eine Schokoladenmouse. Ich hatte den Rheinsteig beendet, und brauchte etwas handfestes. Da war das Sudhaus genau richtig. Das Personal war freundlich. Die Preise sind fair. Ich war glücklich und zufrieden.

Despite having purchased meals from a neighboring restaurant for our kids, the waiter rudely shouted at us upon seating, insisting we leave the tables. This lack of understanding and unprofessional behavior marred our dining experience from the start. Throughout the meal, the waiter continued to exhibit a complete disregard for customer service. He was dismissive, impatient, and even raised his voice unnecessarily. It felt as though our presence inconvenienced him, rather than being valued guests. Despite attempting to address our concerns with the restaurant management, we received no apology or acknowledgment of the poor service we endured. It's truly disappointing to see such a lack of professionalism in what could have been a pleasant dining experience. In conclusion, I cannot recommend SudHaus to anyone seeking a welcoming atmosphere and attentive service. Until there are significant improvements in the staff's behavior and customer service, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I was here with my husband, two children, and my father for a nice meal at the end of my father's visit from the USA. Because my husband and I speak fluent German but my father doesn't, my husband asked for an English-speaking menu. Our waiter asked why and said we were speaking German and my husband told him that my father does not. The waiter grew aggravated and said that we are in Germany where German is spoken, and that everyone comes to Germany expecting to speak English and when we go to other countries we also have to speak English. This was an extremely uncomfortable atmosphere. We were expecting a nice meal at a traditional restaurant and instead we received what seemed like a right-wing political agenda. I would definitely not go here again to be honest and will tell this story to visitors asking for a recommendation, as I cannot recommend it. The food was very good (we probably should have just left but my husband is very unconfrontational) but we won't be back. I dined here with my German-speaking family and my English-speaking father. When my husband asked for an English menu, the waiter asked why, since we could speak German. My husband said we did, but my father didn't. Things then got pretty awkward because the waiter said foreigners always come here and expect to speak English but when Germans go somewhere everyone expects them to speak English. We just wanted to have a nice meal to treat my dad a bit at the end of his visit. We should have just left, but my husband doesn't like confrontation. The food was delicious but we won't be returning. I will not recommend this restaurant based on this story.
