I was recently at the “Sudhaus” in Bonn and was looking forward to a Viennese veal schnitzel for 24.90 euros. I wanted to do something good for myself and ordered the original veal instead of pork schnitzel. I expected a delicious schnitzel - fried in clarified butter in the pan, with wavy, crispy breading and tender meat. A taciturn waiter (more polite than friendly) served me a lukewarm piece of meat with soggy breading that was already coming off the meat, a few frozen peas that were carelessly prepared and lukewarm fries. I was most disappointed with the schnitzel. I know what a Wiener Schnitzel should look and taste like. This was far from it. It looked like it had been fried and then kept warm under a hood, with the steam then softening it! And that for 24.90 euros! Once and never again - I'm disappointed!

I had beef liver with fried onions, apple rings and mashed potatoes, super tasty and a fair price! I'll definitely come back on my next visit to Bonn!

The staff is very friendly, if you sit for too long without ordering anything (you want to have a nice chat after your meal) you get the impression you are no longer welcome. It's very reminiscent of a pub, a machine at the counter and therefore a total pub feeling... Not so nice if you only order beer... Price-performance is ok, drinks could be bigger. Unfortunately no cola, just Pepsi which tastes like a lite. Otherwise everything was very clean.

Rude staff and very average food. The Wiener schnitzel was not authentic at all and had a really thick slice of meat with no crumble or adequate coating. Please visit Elefant for an incredible German authentic food experience.

Disaster. The schnitzel was 100 per bought and not freshly breaded. The hunter's sauce wasn't even stirred, the cream was simply squirted into the sauceboat and the mushrooms weren't fresh either. Wir essen sehr gerne Muscheln und haben schon mehrere Restaurants diesbezüglich besucht. Die Muscheln teuflischer Art sind sehr zu empfehlen. Bessere Muscheln haben wir in diesem Jahr noch nicht gegessen. Die Brotbeilage mit frischer Butter (2 Scheiben pro Portion) war ebenfalls ausreichend! Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Yesterday (November 28th, 2024) after visiting the Christmas market, we stopped by the brewhouse. We were greeted warmly and since we just wanted something to drink, we were seated at the counter. There's even Jever on tap. But the tapper has a lot to do, the empty glasses had to be put in the dishwasher, new taps were drawn, the dishwasher was emptied, and various drinks were mixed. This was done without even washing your hands, and it was topped when the ice cubes were put into the Aperol glasses with your hands. A little hygiene would be nice.

It was a Christmas market, everything was full, but the owner said he still had room for an hour, everything went well and was delicious

We were happy to find a place on a busy friday evening that could seat us and served Ganskeule. We ate late (around 8 pm) but apparently the dish had been waiting for us from 5 pm or so. A shame. Against our better judgement we ordered Kaiserschmarren. Again disappointing so after one bite we sent it back to the kitchen. They were decent enough to keep it off the bill. Very noisy.

Anyone who would like to be treated more like an opponent than a guest by the waitress is welcome here. Everyone else would be better off looking for one of the many better alternatives nearby.

We were amazed when we returned to the brewhouse yesterday after a long time. We felt like we used to be in a real pub, the bar was full, the food was good, kale was very tasty, the beer was well chilled, the service was a bit inattentive, but friendly. Recommended for everyone who still likes things really traditional.

My family and I were in Germany last summer and had a trip to Bonn. We had lunch at a restaurant in the city center. We ordered four dishes but two of us didn't really enjoy the food. My niece didn't like the raw fish even though the waiter pointed out that the fish would be served cold. Anyway, I think that cold dishes in Asia and Europe are not really comparable.

Authentic brewery on Friedensplatz in Bonn. I recommend making a reservation during peak times. I waited about 20 minutes for a table on Friday evening. The menu is clear. The focus is on meat. But there are also some vegetarian alternatives. My veggie burger tasted good and was served very quickly. The prices were within reason. The team was friendly. I was able to pay conveniently by credit card.

We were there with further training for trainers. The food was okay, the waitress was very patient with us and she did a great job. And that’s still in training. Keep it up, stay true to yourself! I ordered 4 beers and the bill said 5 beers, I asked the waiter straight away why it says 5 on the note, he was so cheeky and said just like that, he marked it on the cheese in the system and I told him clearly once said that we only ordered 4. He asked me to provide proof, which I find ridiculous. I went to a Drau at the bar and said the same thing again, I was told it all depends on the waiter because he makes the marking or beer order. In summary, I have been eating in various restaurants in Bonn, Beuel and Godesberg once a week for more than 30 years and still do None of them hit me over the head. I noticed how the waiter asked the nice group of men at the neighboring table to stop playing cards in such an unfriendly manner that I was downright shocked. I have rarely experienced something so unfriendly. And they just played cards and also ordered and consumed food and drinks. The service to the customer can be described as poor at best.

The worst experience in terms of service I ever had. The staff was not friendly, we ate there with 11 people and because 2 people did not order food we received very disappointing service and angry attitudes. Traditional regional cuisine is served, but also burgers and other dishes. There is a changing daily or weekly menu. The price/performance ratio is right.

I don't mean to disparage all the staff, but an older gentleman who tended the outside tables was one of the rudest people I've ever met. No "Hello" (not even in response to my happy hello), not even a smile.

Just wanted to eat something sensible! But the plate wasn't clean, the lumberjack steak was tough and puny, the onions were just muddy mush, and instead of putting the fried potatoes on the plate, they came separately! You could have swapped them with the coleslaw, which was on the plate and warm! In terms of taste, everything was very simple and bland! The cook could easily reach for the spice rack. Ketchup, mayo and mustard were on the table in mini packs, and pepper and salt were the same, from the store directly in the packaging on the table! The beer had a sticky aftertaste! And to the great surprise, there was also a dog in the restaurant! Our service was nice and friendly!

The lumpy “hunter’s sauce” with the schnitzel (see photo) was an absolute disgrace and had the consistency of failed pudding. Despite complaints or dissatisfaction, there was no response. The schnitzel can hardly be described as such either. It was more like a pork steak with roasted aromas. Super light and unbreaded. We were more concerned about whether everything was through. The fried potatoes were more like boiled potatoes and the bacon-wrapped beans were not fried. The salad with the schnitzel was partly dark and shrunken. After all, it took a maximum of 10 minutes to eat, what more could you expect? I'd rather wait longer for my food and then have something edible. And at the end we received a sentence “and I will now be punished for it” because we only gave a small tip for it. As Bonn residents, we used to love it - but never ever again.
