Very tasty food, good service. We sat in the back, but unfortunately it smelled a bit like a toilet (restrooms were right around the corner).

Very traditional German restaurant, but amazing food. Not many vegetarian options, but still has some. Service was great, people generally spoke English and prices are decent. Can highly recomend!

I didn't like the food at all. The "grilled vegetables" were pre-made vegetables from the freezer, and the tomato sauce had far too much sugar.

The kitchen has prepared every dish perfectly so far. It's no coincidence that the brewery is so popular. If you're looking for hearty, traditional food, this is the place to be. Also great: Hövels is on offer!

It's been a few months, but the Sudhaus serves excellent Rhenish cuisine, very tasty, and more than justified by the price. The owner is a first-rate, cheerful Rhinelander. I recommend the Sudhaus to everyone.

FIRST AND LAST TIME !!!!! I was there today and got 10 fries and a schnitzel (hamburger style) that was as dry as a shoe sole for €20!!!! A salad that wasn't tasty at all!!! Everything came with ready-made dressings and was all FROZEN!!! I really don't know how anyone could pass up a schnitzel so badly, and especially how they wouldn't even think of cooking it fresh at that price! JUICE shop!!!! Never again!

Great place!!! We went to Sudhaus for lunch. I highly recommend the Bonner Fleischbraten (Bonner meatloaf) if you're really hungry. Everything was perfect. I never give 5 stars because there's bound to be something negative somewhere. This place, with its great staff, is worth more than 5 stars.

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed and will not visit the restaurant again. We were greeted warmly and shown to our table, and promptly asked for our food and drink preferences. Both arrived promptly. The food was very poorly presented and certainly not eye-catching, but the taste is much more important. It was okay, but nothing special, and you can get far tastier food in Bonn and the surrounding area for the same, if not less, price. The dessert was also "okay," so nothing special. So, in itself, a mediocre restaurant with a great ambiance, BUT were it not for the service...apart from the friendly greeting, the service was lacking. In particular, the tone and general friendliness of the waiters left a lot to be desired. As a customer, you're only there to bring money, and that's how you're treated. Here, the customer is by no means king, merely a source of money. No smiles, no friendly small talk, no eye contact, and just long, listless faces. When paying, you're treated rudely, without any thanks for the tip, and without any wishing you a pleasant evening. Overall, it's a shame and disappointing. We won't be visiting the restaurant again; there are much better alternatives. You'll be treated more kindly in any kebab shop than here.

The quality of the food used to be much better. The schnitzel meat was tough, the breading wasn't crispy, the mushrooms were in a "grey, lukewarm, indefinable" sauce, and the fries and salad were good. Really too expensive for this quality. Service was friendly.

In the heart of Bonn's hustle and bustle, this quaint, rustic restaurant serves food throughout the day. They offer a variety of regional dishes. We had Sauerbraten and Rhenish meatloaf, both very tasty. The service was very friendly, and they maintained a calm atmosphere even in the hustle and bustle.

When something's good, it's definitely worth praising. I had a very good experience with the food at Sudhaus Bonn. Absolutely unbeatable value for money for the location and the quality. But the real surprise was the staff; they were absolutely courteous and friendly, and even accommodated special requests without hesitation. Thank you very much, I definitely recommend it!

Qualified recommendation. My vegetable stir-fry was merely warmed up. It's no longer tasty for vegetables. My money wasn't "warmed up" either.

Really good for traditional German food and beer

Went on my own, the waiter was kind and talked to me a little after my meal. The hamchen was very big and I especially like the mashed potatoes.

I don't want to criticize the brewery in general; the atmosphere is typical of a Rhenish brewery and is good, and the service, as long as they speak German, is also decent. The food, however, is... a tour of Maggi-Fix, Knorrr, and the like, and substandard for cafeteria quality. So stop by and have a drink, but don't eat!

The service was pleasant, friendly, and quick. So much for the positives. I ordered a cordon bleu with fries and salad. The price was OK, but I would have happily paid 15% more for good quality. Overall, the food just wasn't good. The Kölsch beer could have been a bit cooler. I wouldn't recommend it.

Schweinshaxe is too much to eat alone. I should try Schweinshaxe at least once in Germany. But these days, Market Kurly's Schweinshaxe is also much tastier.

Why this excellent restaurant has "only" 4.1 stars remains a mystery to me. Coming all the way from Bad Honnef, this restaurant impresses with exquisite Rhenish delicacies! Apart from the extremely nice blonde lady, who had a wonderful time with my elderly father and wasn't above any joke, the atmosphere is simply pleasant and relaxed. A full 5 stars! After my visit today (May 29, 2025), I can't agree with some of the negative reviews from other users. The service was fast, friendly, and attentive. The knuckle of pork was cooked to perfection (the chef knows his craft!), and the sauerkraut tasted like home-made, and the portions were generous. All in all, a very worthwhile visit.

It tasted like cheese donkatsu and was just the right amount of salt for a Korean person.

Absolutely bad. Never ever. I had a salad with chicken breast drenched in a ready-made herb yogurt dressing. The carrot slices were so dried out they could easily pass for chips again. The absolute highlight: the piece of plastic wine banderol in the corn. The bread that came with it was an old, sliced ​​poppy seed roll. I haven't eaten this badly in a long time.

We ordered two wines and a snack plate and were very satisfied.

Wifi and German cuisine in a typical setting, right in the city center. Recommended

I ate at the brewhouse for the first time today and I was thrilled. I don't know why there was a second (fried) sauce there.

Stopped for my first ever beer ... in Bonn. Paulicarus and Boothroyd chose Sion Kölsch to start the afternoon off. Lots of outdoor tables on the cobbled square. A very sunny and warm day at the end of April. Inside very traditional and has a proper bar area for drinkers.

Overall, the visit was unfortunately disappointing. The service left a lot to be desired - the waiter was slow, overlooked us at the beginning and seemed a bit unfriendly. The food wasn't convincing either: it was hardly seasoned and seemed carelessly prepared.

The waitresses were friendly and accommodating. We had the burgers from the daily menu, which we had to make ourselves. They were served with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles. The roll was dry and the meat was unfortunately not of particularly good quality. The potato wedges that came with it were also dry and unseasoned. For €18 I expect more from a burger.

We were there at the weekend and ordered sauerbraten and schnitzel. The sauerbraten was very disappointing, the meat was tough and stringy. My son had a Jägerschnitzel, and here too the meat wasn't of good quality. The meat was also tough and had no flavor. The sauce from the schnitzel was probably quite good. I won't go here anymore. Good location, but that's where the fun ends. We ordered a Kranz Kölsch, the waiter told us there was nothing like that here. So we had to order 11 Kölsch... Unfortunately, the food was very unsatisfactory, this restaurant is a classic “tourist trap”, we ordered the 4 potato pancakes from the weekly menu and were unfortunately more than disappointed. The potato pancakes were mini and, judging by their taste and appearance, came more from the Aldi refrigerated counter than from a good kitchen. Wouldn't go here to eat!

We tested the lunch menu. Schnitzel with mushroom sauce. Well, there was schnitzel from the deep fryer, with roast and mushroom sauce on top for a price of around 20 euros. When asked, they said “it’s always been like this here”.

Actually a restaurant with a nice atmosphere....ordered the classic: Jägerschnitzel....with fried potatoes. You can't really go wrong there. Unfortunately there was nothing... schnitzel small and not crispy... two different sauces on the plate, for whatever reason... maybe the hunter's sauce was running low... salad in my opinion with ready-made dressing... fried potatoes subterranean... without onions or bacon... bad. Ultimately fast food character...for 19.90 euros. But the service was nice and attentive. Won't come back, sorry, that was nothing...

4 x Jägerschnitzel 1 x Wiener Schnitzel. Unfortunately there are only 2 shoe soles on each plate. I thought for a long time how they could get it so bad. When I warm up my schnitzel in the microwave after 2 days, it looks pretty close to the hard sole of a shoe. 2 different ready-made sauces combined on one plate. Salad is also just so-so. Prices were quite cheap, waiters were friendly and helpful. Atmosphere like in a good classic brewery. Unfortunately, eating was a no go and therefore not a repeat despite cheap prices and nice waiters. Too bad.

I was recently at the “Sudhaus” in Bonn and was looking forward to a Viennese veal schnitzel for 24.90 euros. I wanted to do something good for myself and ordered the original veal instead of pork schnitzel. I expected a delicious schnitzel - fried in clarified butter in the pan, with wavy, crispy breading and tender meat. A taciturn waiter (more polite than friendly) served me a lukewarm piece of meat with soggy breading that was already coming off the meat, a few frozen peas that were carelessly prepared and lukewarm fries. I was most disappointed with the schnitzel. I know what a Wiener Schnitzel should look and taste like. This was far from it. It looked like it had been fried and then kept warm under a hood, with the steam then softening it! And that for 24.90 euros! Once and never again - I'm disappointed!

I had beef liver with fried onions, apple rings and mashed potatoes, super tasty and a fair price! I'll definitely come back on my next visit to Bonn!

The staff is very friendly, if you sit for too long without ordering anything (you want to have a nice chat after your meal) you get the impression you are no longer welcome. The staff keeps coming and clearing things up far too quickly. You have to like the atmosphere, everything is very rustic. It's very reminiscent of a pub, a machine at the counter and therefore a total pub feeling... Not so nice if you only order beer... Price-performance is ok, drinks could be bigger. Unfortunately no cola, just Pepsi which tastes like a lite. Otherwise everything was very clean.

Wir hatten zum Glück nur ein Gericht, das Wiener Schnitzel. Es war eher ein paniertes Stück Fleisch. Die Butter-Erbsen waren ohne Butter. Sie wurden abgekocht serviert mit einem Klacks Hollandaise-Sauce, was nicht geschmeckt hat. Die Pommes waren billige TK-Ware.

One of the last inns in Bonn with a Rhenish atmosphere. Delicious Rhenish menu. Jood zo mufflee. Best to reserve. Delicious Kölsch. Large outdoor terrace. A very attentive receptionist.

Rude staff and very average food. The Wiener schnitzel was not authentic at all and had a really thick slice of meat with no crumble or adequate coating. Please visit Elefant for an incredible German authentic food experience.

Always very satisfied when we visit the brewhouse. Everything is right here, from the hospitality to the food to the prices and this has been the case all these years when we come to Bonn.

Disaster. The schnitzel was 100 per bought and not freshly breaded. The hunter's sauce wasn't even stirred, the cream was simply squirted into the sauceboat and the mushrooms weren't fresh either. The schnitzel was also hard. Some of the Kaiserschmarrn was cold and didn't taste fresh either. Never again. I can't understand why so many people have always told me that it tastes so good. Knorr's fix bags honestly taste better. It's also expensive. But the waiter was very nice!

Nice establishment. Delicious, satisfying. Small selection of soft drinks, drinks seem overpriced. Service is not very fast. But overall, the impression is pleasant.

Drink beer everywhere, just never again in the shop, the waiter is so unfriendly, never visit the juice shop again!!! I can only recommend it to every guest who doesn't want to be insulted by the waitress even though they wanted to drink their beer peacefully!

Wir essen sehr gerne Muscheln und haben schon mehrere Restaurants diesbezüglich besucht. Die Muscheln teuflischer Art sind sehr zu empfehlen. Bessere Muscheln haben wir in diesem Jahr noch nicht gegessen. Die Brotbeilage mit frischer Butter (2 Scheiben pro Portion) war ebenfalls ausreichend! Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

It was a Christmas market, everything was full, but the owner said he still had room for an hour, everything went well and was delicious

Yesterday (November 28th, 2024) after visiting the Christmas market, we stopped by the brewhouse. We were greeted warmly and since we just wanted something to drink, we were seated at the counter. There's even Jever on tap. But the tapper has a lot to do, the empty glasses had to be put in the dishwasher, new taps were drawn, the dishwasher was emptied, and various drinks were mixed. This was done without even washing your hands, and it was topped when the ice cubes were put into the Aperol glasses with your hands. A little hygiene would be nice.

We were happy to find a place on a busy friday evening that could seat us and served Ganskeule. We ate late (around 8 pm) but apparently the dish had been waiting for us from 5 pm or so. A shame. Against our better judgement we ordered Kaiserschmarren. Again disappointing so after one bite we sent it back to the kitchen. They were decent enough to keep it off the bill. Very noisy.

Anyone who would like to be treated more like an opponent than a guest by the waitress is welcome here. Everyone else would be better off looking for one of the many better alternatives nearby.

So far everything is good and tasty

We were amazed when we returned to the brewhouse yesterday after a long time. We felt like we used to be in a real pub, the bar was full, the food was good, kale was very tasty, the beer was well chilled, the service was a bit inattentive, but friendly. Recommended for everyone who still likes things really traditional.

I had guests because it was my birthday. The food was very tasty and plentiful. The waiter was very nice and friendly. It was a very pleasant day all around and we were all very full. I can highly recommend the brewhouse. I would love to come here again. 😉

My family and I were in Germany last summer and had a trip to Bonn. We had lunch at a restaurant in the city center. We ordered four dishes but two of us didn't really enjoy the food. My niece didn't like the raw fish even though the waiter pointed out that the fish would be served cold. Anyway, I think that cold dishes in Asia and Europe are not really comparable.

A rustic inn with a lot of charm. The food was delicious and the waiter always had a funny saying on his lips. We felt completely comfortable.

The three of us ate, a small portion of chicken fricassee, mussels Rhineland style and a Champion Raumschnitzel. The schnitzel was frozen and pretty puny for €19. We also had 6 beers in 0.3 and one in 0.2 along with two water. The whole thing ended up costing around €100. Thank you very much, as a native of Bonn you will never see me again. Thumbs down!

Authentic brewery on Friedensplatz in Bonn. I recommend making a reservation during peak times. I waited about 20 minutes for a table on Friday evening. The menu is clear. The focus is on meat. But there are also some vegetarian alternatives. My veggie burger tasted good and was served very quickly. The prices were within reason. The team was friendly. I was able to pay conveniently by credit card.

We were there with further training for trainers. The food was okay, the waitress was very patient with us and she did a great job. And that’s still in training. Keep it up, stay true to yourself! In general, the team treated us quickly and well. I didn't hear any negative aspects from the group. Thank you. Until next time 👍🏻
