SU-CHIN, Sushi- und Asiatisches Restaurant in Darmstadt

Unfortunately just a below-average Asian restaurant. I had ordered a Thai curry that had little to do with a Thai curry. Although it was described as "spicy" on the menu, it wasn't spicy at all and was a bland mix of coconut milk. When I ordered, my request to cook it accordingly was passed on, but completely ignored in the kitchen. My request to season it was also not fulfilled: there was neither fish sauce nor fresh chilli. Instead I was given sambal oelek, which made it even worse. The quality of the food was "just about edible"... But you don't have to go to a restaurant for that. The waitress was nice, but had no idea about the food and you had the feeling that she only had this job because she spoke German. Conclusion: It's enough to fill you up. You have to look for something else to eat deliciously. If you want some fried noodles or rice from the wok, you can definitely eat there. I can't say anything about the sushi. Su-Chin therefore seems to be more of a wok snack bar that disguises itself as a restaurant and also offers sushi. Perhaps it is better to avoid dishes on the menu and only offer those that you can prepare with know-how.

Very nice location on the outskirts of Darmstadt. Quite well attended. The service seemed a bit bored. As a starter we chose sushi, which was very good and freshly prepared. Unfortunately the duck was very dry during the main course. The vegetables are crunchy and the sauce is good. Dessert, banana with honey and sesame balls with chocolate syrup wasn't really our thing.

Overall ok for a quick lunch, but I have the feeling that the quality decreased a lot over the last year. Also the staff seems to change frequently, have been there multiple times and waiters are almost every time different with little serving knowlege

Unfortunately it was very disappointing. Unfortunately, with the crunchy salmon rolls you are looking for the salmon and there was very little of the small dollop of wasabi.

The food was okay, but the juice was inedible. The menu has not been updated in terms of price, but instead refers to a surcharge of 10% due to an increase in VAT. You should make the effort to simply recalculate and display the prices instead of this note, which can be misleading

Nice Asian restaurant where you can combine different Asian cuisines such as sushi, pho and Chinese dishes. Even non-fish eaters will get their money's worth with sushi.

Always tasty and friendly. You can also order and come pick it up. The food is usually ready for pickup in 15-20 minutes. Portion sizes and prices are fair.

The price-performance ratio is great! The ambience itself is nothing special and is relatively loud due to the open space. The cleanliness is impeccable. The staff are polite and helpful even when there is a lot to do. The sushi is very tasty and absolutely fine for the medium price range, there is something for every taste. The peanut sauce in the main courses in particular tastes very good. We've eaten there a few times and also ordered take-away a few times. It's always been very good so far.

I recently had the opportunity to visit this Japanese restaurant and would like to share my impressions here. The toilets were spotlessly clean and decorated with beautiful pictures of a flower display. This gives the visit a pleasant atmosphere. The sushi was very tasty and the fish was extremely fresh. The presentation of the food was attractive and appetizing. One point of criticism was the beer, which was always poured below the calibration mark. In addition, drinks were cleared away without asking, even though there was still something left. One negative aspect was the vegetarian sushi, which unexpectedly contained fish eggs, which is unacceptable for vegetarians. Overall the service wasn't very attentive. For the second round of sushi, there weren't enough chopsticks left and only one bowl was given for the soy sauce, which detracted from the dining experience. The restaurant impresses with excellent sushi and a well-kept ambience, but there is a clear need for improvement in the service and in taking dietary requirements into account.

This restaurant fails to impress, offering mediocre fare at a premium price. While portion sizes may be generous, the flavors lack depth and finesse, leaving much to be desired. Whether it's sushi or other dishes, the taste and attention to detail simply don't justify the cost. If you're simply looking to curb your hunger without expecting a culinary delight, this might suffice, but don't expect to be wowed. Overall, it's a disappointing experience considering the investment.

I ordered number 35, as always, and was disappointed again. This time the noodles were so salty that it was really too much and the vegetables change every time. Otherwise there are always carrots, eggs and bean sprouts in there. This time there were carrots, eggs and cabbage but no bean sprouts. The meat was in a pastry shell that was not completely cooked through and therefore not edible. I've often overlooked the poor quality but now I've had enough. The food isn't worth €11.

So I've been ordering here regularly for about 10 years but unfortunately today was the last time for me. Price/performance is simply no longer right. The sushi is simply overpriced and was completely tasteless, as if the fish supplier had been changed. The salmon was very fatty and didn't taste like much. The sushi with mayonnaise...as if you had forgotten the mayonnaise - almost non-existent. Unfortunately very disappointing and simply far too expensive.

Unfortunately I now have to change my five stars to two. I've been eating here for 13 years (long before the renovation) and have been a regular customer with family and friends for years because of the top value for money. For the most part, the food is/was always very good, even if it wasn't the best, but that was okay for the price. In any case, since things seem to be going very well, people are no longer treated as kindly and the quality has unfortunately decreased somewhat - in terms of quantity. I think it's a shame how inflexible the work is here, especially since there aren't that many vegetarian main courses and no fried vegetarian sushi (salmon coating can be omitted here, but at the same price - is that still possible?). Today I surprisingly received a vegetarian special request for a pasta dish that is actually made with shrimp and chicken. I ordered with tofu instead (I said this twice on the phone) and was assured. Actually, this should be cheaper than the original dish, but given the unusual "flexibility" I didn't want to expect any more and stayed silent. At home I realized that my dish only consisted of glass noodles. Very annoying and the taste was pretty sad. Unfortunately, a friend's dish was also blander than ever before: pale noodles without any seasoning or sauce with fried chicken on top. When I saw that the same price was charged for my pure glass noodles as for shrimp AND chicken, I was simply speechless and disappointed. Unfortunately, the baked banana was quite unripe and barely baked (no time left for that?). Honey and sauce in general have always been skimpy. From now on, don't come here anymore, as you don't seem to need to bother anymore! By the way, I also think it's pretty uncool if even pickup only works with 2G(+).

Restaurant and waiters great. Only the price performance is poor... tastes mediocre. Relatively expensive and very little. Had wonton pockets and chicken with vegetables. Unfortunately I didn't get enough. My wife's sushi was good but unfortunately also very small. Luckily it worked out for them :D

Some of the best sushi and other Asian food in Darmstadt. We always enjoy eating here. In the summer, sitting on the terrace at the front is delightful. Sitting inside is always a little noisy because the place is so popular, but the furnishings are clean and modern and its business and popularity is because of the high quality. The service is very efficient, so even when busy you’re never waiting too long for your order. You definitely need to reserve a table! I highly recommend Su-Chin, especially if you’re looking for sushi.

One of my girlfriend and I's favorite restaurants. The food tastes great, the prices are very good, especially compared to other sushi restaurants, and the staff is always friendly.

Had sushi with shrimp. The quality of the shrimp is very poor. There was also top Asian tea brewed with cheap messmer tea bags and a miso soup that reminded me of tea water with tofu. I don't know...when I read the reviews here...decreased a lot.

During our visit to Darmstadt the evening before last we went to Su-Chin, where we barely managed to get a place for two without a reservation. The restaurant is modernly furnished, but with little space between the tables, so everything is a bit more cozy... and with a high noise level. So not exactly nice for a cozy dinner. The prices for food and drinks are within the local range, although the juice spritzers we received were quite thin, which is why we would have been better off ordering pure juices for a small additional price. :-( In addition, the small drinks are too expensive in our opinion. It should also be noted that there is an additional charge of 10% on top of the prices on the menu, which was not obvious from the outside, but at least on an extra sheet at the front was mentioned on the menu. That doesn't make it any better because the quality can no longer keep up. The main courses were delivered to us in a very, very short time, even quicker than at many other Asian restaurants, which makes us suspicious. Freshly made food can hardly be ready that quickly. The baked chicken was ok, the duck was crispy but too dry. Curry sauce good, peanut sauce very good. The rice was a bit too sticky. Overall good and still OK, but we have eaten better for the price. Nice service, good, attentive and quick.

Gute asiatische Küche. Auf der Karte finden sich die üblichen asiatischen Gerichte. Der Service könnte besser sein. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist okay.

Sehr gemütliches und schön eingerichtetes Restaurant, allerdings etwas laut und voll. Nettes Personal und richtig gutes Sushi. Das Essen und die Suppen sind wirklich sehr zu empfehlen, bis auf das Sushi mit Tofu, das leider etwas wässrig ist. Alles in allem aber ein wirklich hübsches Ambiente mit großartigem Sushi. Definitiv mehr als einen Besuch wert.

Klein aber fein. Es ist kein reines Sushi Restaurant. Die Speisekarte bietet auch viele andere Gerichte. Das Essen ist sehr gut.

Leider wird am Essen gespart. Viel weniger Gemüse, viel Zwiebeln und Karotten, etwas Zucchini, insgesamt deutlich kleiner Portionen trotz gestiegenen Preisen. Kenne Restaurant ganz anders. Wir werden Alternativen suchen müssen. Schade...

Das erste Mal Sushi essen, ....und wer es nicht mag, die Speisekarte bietet reichlich Alternativen und das zu fairen Preisen. Am besten Tisch reservieren und ausprobieren, auch wir kommen wieder...

Habe sushi gegessen und war super lecker. Waren dort vom Betrieb aus essen und kann leider die Preise schlecht einschätzen. Für Biertrinker gibt es dort 2 asiatische Biersorten die sollte man unbedingt probieren!

Die Speisen sind lecker- dennoch viel zu teuer für deren Qualität. Eine Familie mit vier Personen 2 erwachsene 2 Kids, sind je nach Wahl, locker um die 80,00€ / 100,00€ los. Und das für ein Abendessen! Welche Familie kann sich solches des Öfteren leisten können?!

Essen frisch und qualitativ hochwertig. Preise wirklich in Ordnung. Im Innenraum etwas beengt und wenig Privatsphäre. Schade, dass sie nicht liefern.

Ich bin ein Stammgast und mit meiner Familie hier gewesen. Leider hat die Qualität der Speisen nachgelassen. Ich wünsche mir das das Niveau wieder den Rang von vor einem Jahr erreicht. Es wäre sehr schade wenn dieses Lokal schließen müsste.

Mittlerweile seit Jahren eine Institution an der Heinrichstraße. Super Sushi und andere asiatische Spezialitäten, und das zu moderaten Preisen. Das Su-Chin-Team hat aus der etwas undankbaren Location ein schönes helles Restaurant gemacht, und auch auf der Außenterrasse sitzt man angenehm, seit die Heinrichstr. auf Tempo 30 beschränkt ist. Das Team ist super freundlich und humorvoll. Immer wieder gerne!

Sind schon ein paar Mal hier gewesen, das Essen schmeckt sehr gut , schön zubereitet und ein gutes Preis-Leistungs Verhältnis. Allerdings der große Kritikpunkt: die Toiletten!!! Nicht sauber und es riecht sehr unangenehm, auch kein Mülleimer am Waschbecken!!! Geht gar nicht, bitte kümmert euch darum! Danke

Wir hatten spontan Lust auf Asiatisch und haben unseren Besuch auf keinen Fall bereut. Service, Ambiente und unser Essen war richtig gut gewesen.

Leckeres Sushi zu einem angemessenem Preis. Geschmack und Qualität der einzelnen Zutaten hat meine Erwartungen leicht übertroffen. Die Auswahl hat mich ebenfalls überzeugt.

Das von mir bestellte Essen (eigene Zusammenstellung) hat mir gut gefallen. 👍 Ein bisschen Pfiff hat leider gefehlt. Service ist sehr freundlich sowie schnell und bei guter Laune 👍 Das Ambiente im Restaurant ist durchdacht und gut. 👍 🙂Reservierung über die Homepage sehr gut und durchdacht 🙂

Also wer nur für eine ansatzweise schöne Location kommt, der wird hier vielleicht glücklich, wenn er an einer Geschmacksverirrung leidet. Aber wer nach gutem Essen sucht ist hier absolut fehl am Platz. Das Essen ist convenient. Das heißt das Essen ist nicht frisch, nur frisch aufgewärmt oder frisch frittiert. Und schmecken tut es vielleicht wenn man nichts besseres kennt. Einfach nur enttäuschend was in Darmstadt für essen angeboten wird und eine Frechheit für so etwas dann auch noch Geld zu verlangen. Werde nicht mehr wieder kommen.

Das einzige Sushi Restaurant in Darmstadt mit Außenbereich das ich kenne. Preise sind absolut OK, nicht überteuert, Sushi schmeckt sehr gut und frisch. Es gibt auch andere Speisen außer Sushi, da ist für jeden etwas dabei.

Wir haben Essen wie üblich über Mail bestellt. Mail wäre nicht angekommen. Mussten vor Ort mit kleinem Kind warten. Selbst das Getränk wurde nicht mal aus Kulanz übernommen

Sehr schöner Laden. Waren jetzt das erste mal dort. Leider zu spät und es gab nur noch zum Mitnehmen. Auch hatten wir nicht die Möglichkeit das Sushi 🍣 zu probieren. Hatten aber Suppen, Reis und Nudelgerichte. War alles gut 👍🏻 und Preis -Leistung war super. Freuen uns auf den nächsten Besuch, natürlich früher damit wir in den Genuss der ganzen Speisekarte kommen können.

Wir bestellen hier regelmäßig Sushi und weitere Gerichte per Email zum Mitnehmen und sind auch hin und wieder Gast im Restaurant. Die Speisen sind immer pünktlich fertig und alle vollständig und richtig dabei (das ist in anderen Restaurants oft ein Problem). Man bekommt die Abholzeit per Rück-Email bestätigt und kann sich darauf verlassen, dass die angegebene Zeit eingehalten wird. Die warmen Gerichte und das Sushi sind sehr lecker und von guter Qualität und Quantität. Sogar unsere von Zöliakie betroffene Tochter findet hier leckeres glutenfreies Sushi (natürlich dann ohne Sojasauce) und es gab noch nie Probleme. Das Personal spricht sehr gut deutsch und ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Der Gastraum ist sehr modern und hübsch gestaltet. Es ist immer gut besucht, man sollte also auch unter der Woche besser reservieren. Wir sind sehr zufrieden und können das SU-CHIN nur empfehlen.

Super Portionen und sehr lecker. Sushi ist wirklich sehr gut, die Algenblätter wirken frischer und nicht so zäh. Der Mittagstisch ist ebenfalls sehr gut und günstig. Zudem ist das Personal sehr freundlich und es ist kinderfreundlich!

Reservierung von Vorteil (vor allem zu Stoßzeiten ist es schwierig) Sushi war sehr lecker und preislich im Rahmen! Die anderen Gerichte waren nicht so gut wie Sushi. Sushi empfehlen wir :-)

Gutes asiatisches Restaurant in der Heinrichstraße mit verschiedenen klassischen Gerichten und breiter Auswahl an Sushi. Gutes Mittagsmenü mit Rabatt, Reservierung abends auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert. Netter Service.
