Our favorite sushi place for miles around. Always fresh and tasty, great value, friendly service, and delicious Chinese dishes. At 10 p.m., however, you'll be asked to leave. If you want to spend a longer evening, you should plan something else or simply arrive earlier. Reservations required.

The food was good. Service was okay, but not great. The atmosphere was more like a fast-food restaurant. The price/performance ratio was okay, except for the drinks, which were a bit overpriced.

SU-CHIN is the best Asian restaurant in Darmstadt. The service is fast and friendly, and the kitchen works very quickly. You don't have to wait long for your food, even at peak times. The value for money is also very good. We go there very often and are always satisfied. Be sure to make a reservation; there aren't many seats, and they're very popular.

Very disappointing experience compared to other Asian restaurants. Unfriendly staff, not particularly attentive, small portions at high prices. Bottled water from a plastic bottle for €6.90; Vegetables were practically raw. Not enough sauce, even though I specifically mentioned I would appreciate more. Very loud acoustics, the charm is simply missing here. Paid €80 for three people. Won't go back.

Unfortunately, the advertisement in the Darmstadt Echo for the award promised more than the restaurant delivered. We tried several starters, e.g. Miso soup, wakame salad, edamame through to main courses, including sushi, chicken dishes plus desserts and tried out a wide range. In the end, 2 of the 8 dishes were really tasty and the rest were always missing something to have the right taste experience. I also know that sauces, e.g. Mayo, teriaki or any other sauce can be ordered with the dishes if you want it. When I asked about sauces, I only got a disbelieving shake of the head, which didn't make me feel good. Later they brought me mayo. Service is OK. However, the ordering process itself needs to be optimized and the professionalism of the young, male service staff could also be improved. About the ambience: actually quite nice, unfortunately the restaurant is located directly on a main street, which is not clearly visible on the homepage. So if you choose a window seat, you can't expect a view of the greenery. Our conclusion: all in all, OK, but for just OK, we won't visit this restaurant again.

We have been regularly ordering sushi and duck to pick up here for years. The quality is always on top and the portions are generous. Even at peak times, preparation usually takes no longer than 25 minutes. Definitely the best “Chinese” in Darmstadt, the restaurant has rightly earned its place as the best sushi restaurant in the city in echo-online!

The food was OK but nothing special. However, the water was completely overpriced. What was particularly annoying was that I didn't receive an invoice - even when I asked. The costs could not be explained to me in a comprehensible manner, and even when an error in the calculation was obvious, no refund was made. An overall disappointing experience.

A Great place to get sushi in Darmstadt - the rice is delicious, the sushi look very appealing visually. The crunchy rolls were top notch. My friend took vegetarian sushi options which also looked great. It was very refreshing to see a place with so many veggie sushi options for once. What I did not like at all is the miso soup I took as a starter. Worst miso soup ive ever tried - too little miso paste and too much coriander!? (which shouldn't even be there to begin with). I think next time I will just stick with sushi.

Super nicely decorated restaurant, always great service and great food! Have been here several times a month and have never been disappointed. Also very reasonable prices especially for the quality! Unfortunately just a below-average Asian restaurant. I had ordered a Thai curry that had little to do with a Thai curry. Although it was described as "spicy" on the menu, it wasn't spicy at all and was a bland mix of coconut milk. When I ordered, my request to cook it accordingly was passed on, but completely ignored in the kitchen. My request to season it was also not fulfilled: there was neither fish sauce nor fresh chilli. Instead I was given sambal oelek, which made it even worse. The quality of the food was "just about edible"... But you don't have to go to a restaurant for that. The waitress was nice, but had no idea about the food and you had the feeling that she only had this job because she spoke German. Conclusion: It's enough to fill you up. You have to look for something else to eat deliciously. If you want some fried noodles or rice from the wok, you can definitely eat there. I can't say anything about the sushi. Su-Chin therefore seems to be more of a wok snack bar that disguises itself as a restaurant and also offers sushi. Perhaps it is better to avoid dishes on the menu and only offer those that you can prepare with know-how.

Very nice location on the outskirts of Darmstadt. Quite well attended. The service seemed a bit bored. As a starter we chose sushi, which was very good and freshly prepared. Unfortunately the duck was very dry during the main course. The vegetables are crunchy and the sauce is good. Dessert, banana with honey and sesame balls with chocolate syrup wasn't really our thing.

Overall ok for a quick lunch, but I have the feeling that the quality decreased a lot over the last year. Also the staff seems to change frequently, have been there multiple times and waiters are almost every time different with little serving knowlege

The food was okay, but the juice was inedible. The menu has not been updated in terms of price, but instead refers to a surcharge of 10% due to an increase in VAT. You should make the effort to simply recalculate and display the prices instead of this note, which can be misleading

Nice Asian restaurant where you can combine different Asian cuisines such as sushi, pho and Chinese dishes. Even non-fish eaters will get their money's worth with sushi.

Always tasty and friendly. You can also order and come pick it up. The food is usually ready for pickup in 15-20 minutes. Portion sizes and prices are fair.

The price-performance ratio is great! The ambience itself is nothing special and is relatively loud due to the open space. The cleanliness is impeccable. I recently had the opportunity to visit this Japanese restaurant and would like to share my impressions here. The toilets were spotlessly clean and decorated with beautiful pictures of a flower display. This gives the visit a pleasant atmosphere. The sushi was very tasty and the fish was extremely fresh. The presentation of the food was attractive and appetizing. One point of criticism was the beer, which was always poured below the calibration mark. In addition, drinks were cleared away without asking, even though there was still something left. One negative aspect was the vegetarian sushi, which unexpectedly contained fish eggs, which is unacceptable for vegetarians. Overall the service wasn't very attentive. For the second round of sushi, there weren't enough chopsticks left and only one bowl was given for the soy sauce, which detracted from the dining experience. The restaurant impresses with excellent sushi and a well-kept ambience, but there is a clear need for improvement in the service and in taking dietary requirements into account.

Whether it's sushi or other dishes, the taste and attention to detail simply don't justify the cost. If you're simply looking to curb your hunger without expecting a culinary delight, this might suffice, but don't expect to be wowed. Overall, it's a disappointing experience considering the investment.

I ordered number 35, as always, and was disappointed again. This time the noodles were so salty that it was really too much and the vegetables change every time. Otherwise there are always carrots, eggs and bean sprouts in there. This time there were carrots, eggs and cabbage but no bean sprouts. The meat was in a pastry shell that was not completely cooked through and therefore not edible. I've often overlooked the poor quality but now I've had enough. The food isn't worth €11.

So I've been ordering here regularly for about 10 years but unfortunately today was the last time for me. Price/performance is simply no longer right. The sushi is simply overpriced and was completely tasteless, as if the fish supplier had been changed. The salmon was very fatty and didn't taste like much. The sushi with mayonnaise...as if you had forgotten the mayonnaise - almost non-existent. Unfortunately very disappointing and simply far too expensive.

Unfortunately I now have to change my five stars to two. I've been eating here for 13 years (long before the renovation) and have been a regular customer with family and friends for years because of the top value for money. For the most part, the food is/was always very good, even if it wasn't the best, but that was okay for the price. In any case, since things seem to be going very well, people are no longer treated as kindly and the quality has unfortunately decreased somewhat - in terms of quantity. I think it's a shame how inflexible the work is here, especially since there aren't that many vegetarian main courses and no fried vegetarian sushi (salmon coating can be omitted here, but at the same price - is that still possible?). Today I surprisingly received a vegetarian special request for a pasta dish that is actually made with shrimp and chicken. I ordered with tofu instead (I said this twice on the phone) and was assured. Actually, this should be cheaper than the original dish, but given the unusual "flexibility" I didn't want to expect any more and stayed silent. At home I realized that my dish only consisted of glass noodles. Very annoying and the taste was pretty sad. Unfortunately, a friend's dish was also blander than ever before: pale noodles without any seasoning or sauce with fried chicken on top. When I saw that the same price was charged for my pure glass noodles as for shrimp AND chicken, I was simply speechless and disappointed. Unfortunately, the baked banana was quite unripe and barely baked (no time left for that?). Honey and sauce in general have always been skimpy. From now on, don't come here anymore, as you don't seem to need to bother anymore! By the way, I also think it's pretty uncool if even pickup only works with 2G(+).

Some of the best sushi and other Asian food in Darmstadt. We always enjoy eating here. In the summer, sitting on the terrace at the front is delightful. Sitting inside is always a little noisy because the place is so popular, but the furnishings are clean and modern and its business and popularity is because of the high quality. The service is very efficient, so even when busy you’re never waiting too long for your order. You definitely need to reserve a table! I highly recommend Su-Chin, especially if you’re looking for sushi.

One of my girlfriend and I's favorite restaurants. The food tastes great, the prices are very good, especially compared to other sushi restaurants, and the staff is always friendly.

Had sushi with shrimp. The quality of the shrimp is very poor. There was also top Asian tea brewed with cheap messmer tea bags and a miso soup that reminded me of tea water with tofu. I don't know...when I read the reviews here...decreased a lot.

During our visit to Darmstadt the evening before last we went to Su-Chin, where we barely managed to get a place for two without a reservation. The restaurant is modernly furnished, but with little space between the tables, so everything is a bit more cozy... and with a high noise level. So not exactly nice for a cozy dinner. The prices for food and drinks are within the local range, although the juice spritzers we received were quite thin, which is why we would have been better off ordering pure juices for a small additional price. :-( In addition, the small drinks are too expensive in our opinion. It should also be noted that there is an additional charge of 10% on top of the prices on the menu, which was not obvious from the outside, but at least on an extra sheet at the front was mentioned on the menu. That doesn't make it any better because the quality can no longer keep up. The main courses were delivered to us in a very, very short time, even quicker than at many other Asian restaurants, which makes us suspicious. Freshly made food can hardly be ready that quickly. The baked chicken was ok, the duck was crispy but too dry. Curry sauce good, peanut sauce very good. The rice was a bit too sticky. Overall good and still OK, but we have eaten better for the price. Nice service, good, attentive and quick.

Sehr gemütliches und schön eingerichtetes Restaurant, allerdings etwas laut und voll. Nettes Personal und richtig gutes Sushi. Das Essen und die Suppen sind wirklich sehr zu empfehlen, bis auf das Sushi mit Tofu, das leider etwas wässrig ist. Alles in allem aber ein wirklich hübsches Ambiente mit großartigem Sushi. Definitiv mehr als einen Besuch wert.

Leider wird am Essen gespart. Viel weniger Gemüse, viel Zwiebeln und Karotten, etwas Zucchini, insgesamt deutlich kleiner Portionen trotz gestiegenen Preisen. Kenne Restaurant ganz anders. Wir werden Alternativen suchen müssen. Schade...

Das erste Mal Sushi essen, ....und wer es nicht mag, die Speisekarte bietet reichlich Alternativen und das zu fairen Preisen. Am besten Tisch reservieren und ausprobieren, auch wir kommen wieder...

Die Speisen sind lecker- dennoch viel zu teuer für deren Qualität. Eine Familie mit vier Personen 2 erwachsene 2 Kids, sind je nach Wahl, locker um die 80,00€ / 100,00€ los. Und das für ein Abendessen! Welche Familie kann sich solches des Öfteren leisten können?!

Habe sushi gegessen und war super lecker. Waren dort vom Betrieb aus essen und kann leider die Preise schlecht einschätzen. Für Biertrinker gibt es dort 2 asiatische Biersorten die sollte man unbedingt probieren!
