The sushi was very tasty and the waiters were friendly.

Located right next to Darmstadt train station. A truly charming atmosphere, beautiful decor, and a relaxed feel despite the slightly upscale cuisine. Plenty of space at the tables and a well-thought-out seating arrangement. The service is friendly. The sencha was delicious, as was my Vietnamese curry. It's a bit pricey, but not beyond my budget. They also have a good selection of Japanese spirits and cocktails. I highly recommend Gorenshi.

Highly recommended! The price-performance ratio is excellent, and both the food preparation and the service are very attentive. We were a group of 11 for a business dinner and were all delighted! We've already planned our next visit – Thank you for a wonderful evening!

We especially want to highlight the ceviche, which was an absolute delight and definitely worth trying. The quality of the food is truly excellent. • Service: The service was adequate and unobtrusive. • Atmosphere: The atmosphere was pleasant and contributed to a relaxing experience. Conclusion: If you're looking for a great meal in Darmstadt, this is the place to go. We'll gladly return, if only for the outstanding ceviche. The value for money is excellent, and we wholeheartedly recommend Gorenshi.

A cozy, tastefully decorated, and well-run Asian restaurant. The staff is very friendly and always attentive. A variety of interesting dishes, beautifully prepared and cooked to perfection. A quantum leap from the previous American fast-food restaurant. We'd gladly go back!

Once again, an intermediate rating would be appropriate here, namely 4.5 stars. Because the food—and this is the most important aspect—is truly fantastic! There's still room for improvement in service and ambience... ;-)

We went there for the first time today, and I found it very pleasant. The staff are super welcoming and really friendly and accommodating. The food was very good and arrived after a short wait. The food was beautifully arranged with flowers. Since I only eat vegetarian sushi, I can't really comment on the quality of the fish, except that it certainly looked good! There are places to sit outside, although there are only benches without backrests. Inside, it's very cozy and modern. The restrooms are also clean, and you generally get the feeling that everything there is very orderly and clean. Overall, a successful evening; we'd be happy to come back.

We wanted to eat there, but the waiter was so rude... he told us to tie our dog outside. So we went somewhere else 🙃

We ate sushi there today, and it was absolutely delicious and fresh. What we particularly liked was how beautifully the food was presented, even the dessert – with lots of love. The service was also very friendly and attentive. I'll be happy to come back!

We ordered sushi and had no regrets. Everything was delicious and fresh. It really felt like the fish was absolutely fresh. The selection is a bit different than in other restaurants, perhaps a bit more "Japanese." There are some dishes with eel and other fish that you don't always find. Prices average around €16 per roll. The ambiance and service were very pleasant.

The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. We ordered sushi and chicken skewers. Overall, it seems very neat and clean. The prices are reasonable, too. We'll be happy to come back!

Went there couple of times. Food is fresh , very nicely served but in a restaurant like this you expect better rolls at least in shape . I also do sushi rolls at home and the cut of the roll is very important. You see that the cut is sometimes not that professional. However I enjoyed the taste always. A bit pricy , the atmosphere inside is nice.

Very good sushi for 3 people 120 euros with drinks is not cheap but absolutely reasonable.

The sushi here is top-notch—fresh and high-quality, though a bit pricey compared to other spots in the area. That said, you’re paying for excellent ingredients. Service, however, was lacking. It took a while for the staff to check in on drinks, and I had to request a new beer three times before it finally arrived. A little more attentiveness would go a long way in improving the experience.

I was at GORENSHI with two colleagues on February 18, 2025. A reservation was not necessary that evening and we got a table without any problems, even though the restaurant was busy. The atmosphere is attractive and cozy, the service is friendly and attentive. I had a Pho Bo and nigiris with salmon and tuna. Both tasted great! The soup was hearty but light – just a few more noodles would have benefited it. The nigiris were very good quality, a little more rice would have been desirable. The price of the soup was absolutely fair, and the nigiris were still within an acceptable range. Despite these small details, it was a successful evening and I can definitely recommend the restaurant!

I was just thrown out of the resto because I sat down at an empty table and was only offered a seat at the windy door as an alternative, despite there being more free tables. I politely refused and was shown the door. That says a lot about this restaurant's understanding of service. Too bad...

Nice, affordable Japanese sushi restaurant. €30 for a Miso soup, about twelve sushi bites and a dessert. Not world top, good enough and good value for money. I'll come back here.

Delicious food, a little slow in the sushi service, which is delicious. I would say that the sushi menu we received did not correspond exactly to what was on the menu, because there were not even written instructions and there were 4 on the tray, but it didn't matter much to us. Reasonable price, except water: as expensive as beer.

This place absolutely deserves 5 stars! Generous portions, fair prices, and incredibly friendly service. I came here once and quickly became a regular, now grabbing sushi weekly. Hands down, the best sushi spot in Darmstadt! 😊

The restaurant atmosphere is very inviting. From the selection of dishes to the lighting ambience to the presentation of the food, everything in one creates a very tasteful atmosphere. The three of us were there on a Wednesday evening and were received very friendly without a reservation. We had sushi and some appetizers, everything looked and tasted amazing. Definitely worth a visit!

Today was my first visit to Gorenshi in Darmstadt and I am thrilled. Friendly and quick service as well as a pleasant atmosphere provided the framework for my meal. I ordered maki with spicy tuna tartar, maki with unagi and a California roll. Everything was excellent - especially the maki with unagi were very tasty and generously filled. Next week we'll try out the lunch menu, that sounds tempting too.

We are regular sushi eaters and it was just really, really good! The rolls didn't skimp on the salmon and the salmon was generally of really high quality. Good contrast, consistency also excellent. The highlight are the really excellent Gunkan with salmon tartare, tuna tartare or shrimp tartare! Chrunchyrolls also great!

No Recommendations! Prices are extremely high ! Food is nothing special - I had a cocktail 🍹 (11 Euros for almost nothing. Definitely better locations available in Darmstadt ! #Sorry

The quality of the salmon is really good here. The service was very attentive and the location was very good. Parking spaces are not very close, but still very easy to reach on foot.

Great restaurant just next to Darmstadt main station, the interior of the place is amazing, the service and foods are 10 on 10. And surprisingly, hungry travellers don't need to find doner shop after getting down from the train 😁🫡🤤
