Strobel's Wirtshaus in Leonberg

Hello, we are very disappointed that the reservation for 32 people today, April 5, 2025, didn't work out. We traveled from Lake Chiemsee and Munich and found the doors closed. Excellent cuisine with mostly hearty dishes and exceptionally friendly and attentive staff. As this is a clubhouse restaurant, the ambiance naturally reflects this. There is more than enough parking around the building.

Absolutely fantastic food and great service. Since so many people enjoy the culinary delights there, it's highly recommended to make reservations well in advance. But sometimes we get lucky and get a table.

Went for a beer after a bike ride. The service personal practically beg to be served even though the table next to us was served a 2nd time. No one said good evening or offered a greeting. Sorry to say that it happens in too many German restaurants.

A classic sports ground restaurant with a very distinctive menu of Swabian dishes. A true treasure trove for someone who comes from Low German. Connected to Leonberg via the former building society, we once again enjoyed the roast beef with spaetzle. For a Swabian plate, all that was missing were the Maultasche (swabian pasta) and some cheese to go with the spaetzle. But a big thank you to the kitchen.

The food is delicious here, and the value for money is really good. Sometimes the portions are almost too large. Overall, a really nice restaurant that I'd happily return to.

On the evening before Corpus Christi, there were still a few seats available in the beer garden shortly before 9:00 p.m. After we ordered drinks and they were brought to our table, the waitress informed us that the kitchen had already closed. They should have told us that before we ordered the drinks! Closing the kitchen shortly before 9:00 p.m. is absurd, by the way. Apparently, they no longer need the guests. Service and hospitality work differently. After drinking beer on empty stomachs and paying, we left hungry and certainly won't be coming back. Thanks for nothing!

Great atmosphere... The meat tastes great, but the portions are too small... Höfinger Ritter costs just under €28 for three small pieces of meat, more like a child's portion. Cheese spaetzle is more like cream spaetzle, with hardly any cheese. Relatively inflexible when it comes to special requests.

Unfortunately, this time it wasn't a pleasant experience. The cheese spaetzle was more like pasta alla panna, and the meat portions were a bit too small for men. What a shame.

Actually, the service doesn't even deserve a star. The owner (which she's not really) is a disaster. Whenever we're there, many tables aren't even occupied. Yet she still turns away several people because they haven't made reservations. I'm convinced that if another restaurant opened here serving Swabian food, she wouldn't do it anymore. Great food, but the "owner" is a complete flop!

Very unfriendly! Apparently, children aren't welcome! First of all, the cheese spaetzle and the schnitzel were good. The waitress who brought the food was friendly. The manager who took our order and cashed us was very unfriendly! She yelled at us about how it looked under our table and that "everything was wet." It's not uncommon for food to end up on the floor when a 1-year-old child is eating! We had already saved most of it, and there were actually four tiny pieces of spaetzle on the floor. Barely any. What she called "everything wet" was a small damp spot on the floor. We cleaned everything up☝🏼the tone and the almost angry look were unacceptable. I've never experienced anything like this before; hospitality is different. We won't be coming back here and won't recommend it to anyone.

The selection of food options is very extensive. All of our meals were delicious. And the service was very friendly. Gladly again.

Unfortunately disappointing visit - good food but catastrophic service We had to wait over an hour before we were even allowed to place our order. We politely asked the service staff twice, but were turned away with the information that only the boss takes orders. However, this seemed to be otherwise busy. After a total of 1.5 hours we finally received our food - it tasted really good, there's nothing wrong with that. But the extremely long waiting time significantly spoils the overall impression. Other guests at the restaurant also had similar experiences, suggesting that this issue is not an isolated incident. Perhaps there is a special strategy behind this: at least a lot of drinks can be sold during the long waiting times... Conclusion: The food is solid, but the service urgently needs better organization. Unfortunately, going to a restaurant is no fun.

Highly recommended! Went there for the first time because we were in the area and we weren't disappointed! Service really good! 👍 Salads were very tasty - especially the potato salad (which is really rare these days) and we also had a roast, a cordon bleu and a Schwabenpfännle. Everything was delicious, fried to perfection and really fairly priced. There was actually a bit of a deduction for the meat in the Schwabenpfännle - it was a little overcooked - otherwise it was really great! We'd love to come back!

We stood at the door for nothing. According to the answering machine and notice on the door, open on public holidays from 12 p.m. Unfortunately, that was probably not the case. Very annoying!

Great food, all recommended. Strobel's Wirtshaus is located in the sports center in Höfingen and offers plenty of space. The furnishings are nice. The service could be a little more organized and therefore more attentive. But otherwise... gladly again!!

I have rarely seen such a child-friendly restaurant. There are indoor and outdoor play areas and child-friendly toilets with stools for washing hands. We will definitely come back!

Wir hatten goldene Hochzeit und uns entschlossen im Strobel's Wirtshaus mit der Familie zu feiern. Wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Alles war einfach perfekt. Das Essen war sehr gut zubereitet, besser kann man es nicht machen. Der Service war herzlich , immer sehr zuvorkommend und schnell. Auch hat es uns allen gefallen, dass unsere Gruppe Ihr Essen gleichzeitig bekamen und so auch miteinander essen konnten. Das Gasthaus ist sehr gemütlich und nett dekoriert . Alles in allem ein sehr schöner Abend, der uns auf jeden Fall in Erinnerung bleibt und wir bestimmt nicht zum letzten Mal dort waren.

Short and sweet - the best thing I've eaten recently! A great, very friendly team, a great meal (which you probably wouldn't expect because of the sports restaurant) - top shelf (asparagus with schnitzel, triplets and hollandaise - or a large salad plate with chicken, asparagus, strawberries, blackberries, melon to the usual! ) - really extraordinary. We are happy to have found you after 31 years in Leonberg. We're looking forward to next time!!! 😋

We went there with the family for our birthday. The food is tasty, but the portions are sometimes not enough to fill you up. On the day we were there there was hardly any room to walk or enough room to sit. Many of the family didn't like that at all. The dog basket being messed with at the table next door wasn't very tasty either. We had to wait quite a long time for the food due to overcrowding.

We went there for dinner for the first time. And it was great. The taste is a dream. Price wise it was ok too. The ambience is also good. It has large tables where you can sit up to six or more. Definitely a recommendation from us.

Einfach super waren die saure Nieren

Ich habe Kutteln bestellt. Haben gut geschmeckt aber sehr wenig Kutteln. Und was uns sehr gestört hat war,dass wenn man z B statt Spätzle pommes 🍟 wollte muss man dort 2,50Euro extra bezahlen. Das finden wir nicht in Ordnung. Ich bin noch nicht mal gesessen wurde schon nach den Getränken gefragt und das hat mir nicht gefallen

Extrem leckere, schwäbische Küche. Die Maultaschen und der Kartoffelsalat sind der Hammer. Wir kommen wieder.

Essen absolut lecker. Am Wochenende empfiehlt es sich auf alle Fälle zu reservieren. Mit einem kleinen Team ist der Service super organisiert und hat die Übersicht. Für die kleinen gibt es auch eine kleine Spielecke. Kommen gerne wieder.

Vereinsgaststätte dafür aber sehr schön eingerichtet. Große Räume kann etwas laut werden wenn voll. Umfangreiche Speisekarte mit schwäbischen Spezialitäten. Ein sehr gut eingespieltes Team, wir wurden sehr nett und schnell bedient. Und natürlich wichtig für ein schwäbisches Lokal, der Kartoffelsalat 👍

The serving of the food was more enough for me. I have noticed they dont have any Chicken dish in th Menü mostly Pork.

Für mehr als 3 Sterne reicht es leider nicht. Es war nicht mal voll und wir mussten 50 Minuten aus das Essen warten. Der Zwiebelrostbraten hat es bei mir persönlich nicht mal in die Top 50 geschafft. Keine gute Qualität beim Fleisch.

Wir waren um ca. 17 Uhr da. Wir wollten zunächst draußen sitzen, es hieß dann dass wahrscheinlich nichts frei wäre. Wir sollten draußen nachfragen. Leider war niemand da, bis dann doch ein Kellner an uns vorbei gerannt ist, der jedoch keine Zeit für uns hatte. Zwei Drittel der Tische waren noch frei, ein paar wenige reserviert. Da es etwas kühler geworden ist, entschieden wir uns im Lokal zu essen. Auch hier wurden wir zunächst nicht beachtet. Anschließend hieß es erstmal "Wir sind heute voll, alles reserviert". Dann wurde uns ein Mini-Tisch direkt an der Küche bzw. direkt an der Türe zugewiesen vor der offenen Terrassentüre. Dieser Platz war einfach zu kühl und aus unserer Sicht absolut ungemütlich gewesen. Ein anderer Tisch wurde uns nicht angeboten, obwohl das Lokal fast leer gewesen ist (ich glaube es waren 3 Tische belegt). Wir haben uns absolut nicht willkommen gefühlt. Im Gegenteil, sehr merkwürdiges geschäftsgebahren...

Echt super!! essen ist super, Umgebung ist Top. Und nette Bedienung 👍 Kinder können super spielen.

Super Service und leckeres Essen

Essen: Hatte Cordon Bleu. Das Fleisch war leider trocken. Der Käse schmeckte nach nix. Pommes waren gut. Schön angerichtet war es auch. Frisch zubereitet, aber insgesamt nichts Besonderes. Service: Bedienung schnell, aufmerksam und freundlich. Ambiente: Lage im schönen Glemstal. Leider hat der Biergarten den Charme einer Vereinsklause mit Außenbereich. Das hätte man mit etwas Deko und Pflanzen (z.B. Palmen) viel grüner und gemütlicher gestalten können. Fazit: Ordentliches Restaurant. Für das Geld kann man in der näheren Umgebung aber auch besser essen.

Toller Biergarten, super auch mit dem Fahrrad erreichbar, spitzen Service und sehr leckeres Essen.

Kann man gut Essen. Ist ein gemütlicher Biergarten.
