I was there with two friends and had a great time...great music, and the drinks were delicious, too. We were really happy to meet Joe from Capitol there. It's really nice that he's still working as a bouncer. So please keep it up! We're already looking forward to spending the summer with you...

The location with a view of the lake is very nice. Somewhat nicer furniture and cleanliness of the tables would improve the ambience and feel-good character on the terrace. The food was very filling and very tasty. Unfortunately, the starter was only served together with the main course, which was a bit inconvenient.

The staff is very nice and helpful. What I missed was that there was no fresh fruit such as berries and melon. Otherwise there is plenty of choice for everyone on the buffet.

We had a confirmed reservation and when we arrived we had to make do with a seat in the next room because the guests had fled the rain from the outside terrace and taken the nice seats in the main restaurant. So when it comes to the staff it's a complete disaster. The first time we were served by the unfriendly lady with short hair. No “hello/goodbye” just nothing. In addition, inappropriate demeanor and annoyed facial expressions. The second time we were served by an older gentleman who deliberately “overlooked” us. When we asked him that we would like to order, we had to listen to inappropriate comments such as that he was very excited about our wishes, etc. All in all, very incompetent staff when it came to service. The food, well... the noodles weren't cooked properly and were also very cold, which is actually outrageous considering the prices. I would have preferred to give no star at all.

We had a very good dinner - everything was very tasty and rich - special requests were fulfilled without any problems. The atmosphere is very cozy and the great service from Matthias rounded off the evening! We will definitely come back...!

Our experience report with the Strandhaus Hagen will hopefully give future brides and grooms the chance to choose another location early on. Seven months ago we chose the beach house for our wedding reception. Four weeks before the date, the managing director informed us that a newly launched raver festival with loud house music would take place on the same day, which would accompany our wedding. Formally he is in the right, since Beach and Strandhaus operate separately. Thanks to the network of many restaurateurs, we found a replacement location within four weeks. We recommend that every bride and groom look for a more authentic location, as the beach house seems to give priority to large events. The rooms inside are nice, the outside is great. The service was also perfectly fine. Unfortunately, the schnitzel buffet really left a lot to be desired. Yes - All you can eat BUT - only one sauce, after request a second one was added. Unfortunately, the selection overall didn't justify the price. Otherwise recommended.

I spent one night in the beach house. Clean rooms and nicely located. Great view! Absolutely recommended! The restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Booking takes place exclusively online. Access is via key card. Fees apply for parking. The bus stops right in front of the door.

Great service, delicious food, nice ambience, very dog ​​friendly. We had called beforehand to see if we could come in with our dogs. We were already verbally welcomed with open arms. When we arrived at the restaurant there was already another dog there. Including our two, there were 4 at the end. Every table with a dog was given a bowl of water without asking and the employees were all very happy about the dogs. Some of them just came over to cuddle, but with exactly the right timing so that it didn't bother us while we were eating. I only vaguely remember the food, it was tasty but nothing particularly remarkable. There is a good selection for vegetarians. Overall, this restaurant scores highly with its excellent service, beautiful location and pleasant furnishings. Customers also have to pay for the on-site parking lot, otherwise there is little space on the street.

We stopped there for coffee and cake after a walk. The view couldn't be better, and the service is excellent. The waitresses always have a quick joke on their lips and at least seem to enjoy their work. The cake is homemade and worth a sin. On our next visit (which is definitely already planned!), we'll also try the appetizing-looking and delicious-smelling dishes.

We had breakfast in the beach house and have never had such a bad breakfast....the cutlery was always dirty, i.e. there were still bits of food stuck to it, the sausage was neatly arranged on the plate, but tasted as if it had been there for a long time, so it wasn't fresh, yes and the scrambled eggs.....there were enough in the bowl but they were very dry and crumbly.....the fried eggs were slapped on the tray, dry, the egg yolk hard....the vegetables were really the last, watery and mushy.....the "buffet" wasn't even prepared again....i.e. cleaned again, apart from "normal" rolls, nothing was refilled.....and every little thing costs extra....so we were so disappointed.....would have gladly paid more for a nice breakfast, as the atmosphere there is very nice...we definitely won't have breakfast here again....

Location, food and drinks are great and the price is right. Unfortunately, the staff is not always too friendly and very slow. I would also think it would be better if there were service staff in the lower area to serve the tables, as it would be less annoying if you had to wait because you wouldn't have to wait in line forever. The location takes it out of it.

A very good restaurant/bar located directly on the shores of Lake Hengstey. It has a spacious outdoor terrace and direct access to the Ruhr cycle network. It feels like you're on the North Sea beach. There's an outdoor dining area and plenty of places to relax. The food is very good, and the cake counter is also impressive. The staff was extremely friendly and competent! We felt very comfortable there and will definitely be back!

Brunch with the whole family, including small children We were all very pleasantly surprised by the service provided, even to the youngest members of the family. A small play area was set up, complete with a crawling mat, so they didn't have to play on the floor. There's a spacious sandbox with plenty of toys on the terrace. The beach house is also very well-equipped with cutlery and high chairs. The high chairs are CLEAN, and extra children's forks are provided. Even the dog gets fresh water. The buffet is varied and fresh; as soon as something ran low, it was refilled. Coffee could be taken directly to your seat in a pot, saving you the hassle of walking. The service staff are motivated and very positive, spreading a good mood. You can tell they enjoy their work and want to make customers happy. The ambiance is harmonious; it's a common thread throughout the beach house concept and exudes a sense of coziness. It was definitely not our last visit there

We went to the beach house for brunch with the whole family. Yes, it was Sunday and it was well attended and I understand that with almost 200 guests (according to an employee) you sometimes have to queue at the buffet and not everything is always there. But if you even put up a sign that says you should speak to the staff if there is no food, then you simply can't react in annoyance and complain when someone politely asks the said employee about the missing scrambled eggs... That was really embarrassing for my guests. The fact that the same person told the guests when they arrived when they had to clear the table before anyone had even been to the buffet was also not possible. In terms of taste, everything was okay for the price, and the selection was also perfectly fine... even if some of my guests unfortunately didn't get scrambled eggs or dessert. A delay in serving might perhaps make more sense if only certain quantities are calculated.

Delicious, varied menu, but this leads to long waiting times for larger groups. No problem thanks to the comfortable seating. Dogs allowed very well. The individual drink reordering that does not affect the entire group could be improved. Nice view. If the weather is good, a walk across the lake is possible afterwards. We liked the acoustic ceiling better than in some other open locations, which makes a longer stay comfortable even when there's a lot of chatting. Repeat possible😊

I went to the cafe twice with my wife—and at least once too often! The location is top-notch, the food and drinks were fine. The male service is completely awful. The first time, we sat on the terrace, which was obviously very crowded given the nice weather. I got us a drinks menu—without complaining—and the young waiter TOLD me he was responsible for it. Excuse me? Last Sunday, we went to the cafe again because my wife wanted a coffee. It was full again (breakfast parties) and we found a table that wasn't reserved for another 30 minutes. The young waitress agreed to let us have a coffee and was very friendly. Then the aforementioned waiter appeared again, pointedly looked at his watch, and told us in an unfriendly tone that he would make an exception for once. Before I could say anything, he turned around and disappeared. Everything would have been fine, but he probably had to kick the boss out. The waitress was also very uncomfortable. That was the end of the cafe.

The service wasn't very attentive at first; we had to ask several times to order something. But all in all, it was very good; I'll be back. We were at the beach house on Sunday and thought it was great! Great location, great and simple selection of drinks and super lovely staff who put in a lot of effort. However, we were very shocked by the unfriendliness of the people! It's to be expected that such a popular place with a great location will be crowded on a sunny Sunday, but then I wonder why people complain that it's so busy?! It speaks FOR the beach house and shows that the business is running. Big praise to the team and especially the service that had to organize this mass of people. It's clear that you have to wait longer for your order or for the waiter. We were in the back area of ​​the restaurant and despite the stress we were served very nicely and the young man tried to take care of everyone! And when you see people arguing loudly with the service staff, you can't help but feel sorry for the young people who are doing their best. We went to dinner with 11 people on January 24th, 2025 and then made a reservation for curling at the Strandhaus Hagen. The food and service were great! They absolutely deserve 5 stars (thanks to Matthias + crew!!!!) Curling was an absolute disaster!!! 5 blades (three small, 2 large blades) for shooting were a complete disgrace given the price. Unfortunately, this means that no sensible game can take place. The 2nd hole was also occupied - with all the woods!!!!! That can't be right - that's a straight 6! If the service hadn't been so good I would have given the beach house less than one point! The previous message on the AB was about the weather!!! that didn't bother us!!

Simply great!😃 The ambience is truly breathtaking and the food surpassed everything. First we played curling for an hour, the music was turned on outside, the game was explained in detail and drinks were brought out. After playing we ate there. There were 8 of us and all of us were more than satisfied. The waitresses are courteous and quick. We waited about 15 minutes for the food and then all 8 of us got it at the same time. Everyone had something different and every dish was delicious. We will come back in the summer and have a good time on the huge terrace. 10/10 ⭐️ Highly recommended!

Rating refers to breakfast: We were looking for a place to have breakfast while passing through last Friday and found out about the buffet in the beach house via Google. Booked and arrived at short notice, it was extremely busy but the service was still very good, attentive and friendly. We had a great breakfast and also got our parking ticket refunded. Price/performance was really top for this breakfast. 6.90 pp plus 5 EUR for the drinks is really very cheap... If we lived closer, we would come back more often! PS: The view of the lake is also very nice while eating in winter...

The ambience at the Seeleuchte view is lovely! But the food outside was a complete disaster. You sometimes had to wait in line for 45 minutes for drinks because there was only one sale. Warm drinks sometimes took a really long time to warm up. It's a shame for such a lovely event.
