Sternstüb´l in Potsdam

Simply amazing. We came here on September 5, 2025, on a whim based on the great reviews. And what can I say? 6 stars for the food: Jerry recommended a few unusual dishes to us, which we both thoroughly enjoyed. 6 stars for the service: You can tell when someone enjoys their job. Jerry was at every table and took a moment for each guest. He knows how to entertain. 6 stars for the ambiance: Unobtrusive, yet grandly decorated. Be it the pavilion with its fairy lights and chic beer benches, the leather chairs and stools, the personal regulars' table, the pictures, the swinging doors, or the 102-inch TV. The seating is truly comfortable both inside and out. Our personal highlight: Emma - dogs are welcome. As visitors from out of town (Cologne), we truly had a wonderful and extremely fun evening. We look forward to seeing you again.

I stumbled upon this little restaurant by pure chance, but it was 100% worth it! Very friendly service, no long waits, very fair prices, and very good food. If you like German cuisine, you should definitely stop by here; it's definitely worth it! We had schnitzel on our visit, and it was perfect. ^^ High praise, and keep up the good work!

The five of us went to the "Stern-Stüb'l" for dinner today. It was simply fantastic; the food was truly delicious, and the portions were very generous. We're on vacation in Potsdam and were looking for a place to have dinner. We found it on Google – the Stern-Stüb'l. Delicious home-cooked food, a very friendly host, and the sweet "host dog," Emma. The portions are truly enormous – and the prices are more than fair. We had a delicious meal here, felt comfortable, and loved playing with the dog. We'll definitely be back. We were invited to an 85th birthday party today. And I have to say, it was a thoroughly successful afternoon and evening. The chef was very approachable and always on the ball. No wish went unfulfilled. The food was plentiful and of exceptionally good quality. Our daughter even really enjoyed the nuggets. The chef, Emma, also offered fantastic childcare all around. Our little girl was thrilled with her. So we have found another restaurant where hospitality is still a top priority. And where you can tell that the staff are fully committed to what they live for. We hope you continue to maintain this level of excellence and remain so for a long time.

The schnitzel was OK, but the side dish (fried potatoes in this case) was unfortunately too small for the price. The sauce was tasty, but quite thin; it could have benefited from a bit more cream. The side salad was okay. Compared to my last visit before the coronavirus pandemic, it was unfortunately a downgrade.

We visited this restaurant and we are delighted! Delicious, homemade German food - everything was fresh, aromatic and perfectly seasoned. The owner Jerry deserves special mention - very nice, smiling, with incredible energy, which creates a warm, hospitable atmosphere. Due to a small misunderstanding, we got an additional dish, completely unexpected - a huge plus for such an approach to the guest! I definitely recommend it and we will definitely come back if we only have the opportunity 😊

I came here spontaneously with my sister. A restaurant found by chance on the internet. Looking for typical German cuisine because we were in the mood for asparagus 😅 Searched and found. The food was super tasty and at absolutely fair prices. The schnitzel was too small even for the boss, so he ordered some more for us, great.👏 We thought it was great. The boss, the dog, watched next to us the whole time to make sure we ate everything 🤭 At the end there was a recommendation from the boss, the Kaiserschmarrn. That was also very successful, but we couldn't even do it with the two of us because we were really full. In short, everything was right here. From the food to the ambience to the service. The perfect stop for a warm day. Walked over from Stern Center area mostly to see if the reviews are true. 10/10 will definitely be back. The bar tender was friendly and helpful, the beer cold, the food fantastic, and the prices fair. Ordered a currywurst with fries, honestly the best one I‘ve had since landing in Germany. They take card and have the added bonus of the sweetest dog you‘ll ever meet.

Fantastic, very friendly host, great food, large portions, varied selection, prices absolutely ok, rarely eaten so well and in a nice atmosphere, again at any time. The visit to the Stern-Stüb'l started well and then slowed down considerably. We were quickly greeted and provided with drinks. The food order was also taken quickly and the “special request” that the Schitzel Viennese style should really be “fried to death” was also expressly confirmed. Unfortunately, it ended up on the plate not fully cooked. So we went back to the kitchen again. The second attempt wasn't good either, as a cut through the schnitzel showed. On the third attempt, the half of the schnitzel that I had previously cut off was missing and the taste was not good. The waitress noticed that we weren't happy and asked if everything was OK. We explained why we were dissatisfied. The landlady then walked out without a word of regret or apology. The entire schnitzel was then calculated. I'm sorry, but we will avoid this restaurant in the future.

I once had a review with 3 stars, but I deleted it because this shop no longer exists. Last week I was there and the chef wasn't there, so I drank a beer and left again. This week I tried again and this time I was standing in front of a locked door. Can't you note that on the website? There was no notice anywhere that said it was open today or not at all. An hour of my life wasted. Then I had to go to the Full House, where I could go again was greeted by the grumpy waitress. I was there again this week on June 6th, 24th, and this time there was a notice with the text "Closed due to illness" What should you think of that? No wonder so many German restaurants close when no one wants to work anymore.
