Steaktrain in Leipzig

So I don't even know what to say. I'm extremely excited. The steak was insanely good. By far the best thing I've ever eaten. Even the side dishes where I thought: “What else could I do differently?” were super good. Actually, I would have wanted another portion of the taste if I wasn't already full xD The staff are of course very elegantly dressed and appear very distinguished, which was overwhelming for me because I'm not used to that sort of thing. But I guess that's just normal for the price range. In any case, they were very careful and very professional. The ambience is unique and stands out. And in a positive sense. The train design is very nicely designed and you can even see videos of old trains. My only small negative comment: It was a bit fresh in the long run. It could be a little bit warmer, but you can ignore that given all the strengths. Conclusion: If you want to treat yourself to something and have a penny or two left, this is highly recommended and a unique experience! World class!

Despite the fact that we didn't have a reservation and everything was fully booked, we received a table that was only reserved later. All in all a great stay and highly recommended.

Delicious steak with tasty side dishes. Really worth it.

Food was quite good. Service was also good, there was a lot of attendance, so people sometimes forget... The ambience was also nice, but there was a real problem with space. Not recommended for tall people. Even the tables were so narrow and small that all the plates (4 people) could hardly fit on them. Music was also a bit loud.

The steaks were really excellent as a starter. However, the tartare was rather average. Nevertheless, a great location and nice service.

Everything just fell into place. Restaurant with a great ambience. The service was quick and very friendly. The steaks were excellent and the side dishes were very good. We were completely satisfied. A first-class restaurant in a special ambience. The Wagyu steak was brought to us in a cart and we chose our steak size. The Wagyu steak was cooked to perfection and the fillet steak was no different. The food was simply outstanding and the service was just great. I can give this restaurant a 10 out of 10 stars

Es handelt sich um ein Hotel-Restaurant, das man über die Lobby eine Wendeltreppe runter in den Keller erreicht. Dort wird auch vom Hotel morgens das Frühstück serviert. Das Zug-Ambiente, mit dem das Restaurant wirbt, sieht auf den Fotos anders aus, als die Wirkung „in echt“ ist - und das „echte“ Restaurant sieht aus meiner Sicht jedenfalls besser aus als diese „Zug-Atmosphäre“ der Fotos. Und nicht zu vergessen der Service ist hervorragend, die sehr aufmerksame, aber nicht zu aufdringliche, Bedienung war toll. Soviel zum Guten. Das Restaurant war nicht sehr gut gefüllt, vielleicht auch deshalb kommt die „Keller-Atmosphäre“ dann doch sehr zum Tragen. Ein junges Pärchen gegenüber tat mir leid, sie saßen irgendwie verloren da in der Mitte des großen Raums. Die Tische sind schön gedeckt, die Bedienung machte die Kerzen am Tisch an. Eigentlich alles schön, aber das Restaurant wirkt doch irgendwie kalt und abweisend. Nicht gemütlich. Nicht zum Essen und Trinken und Wohlfühlen einladend. Eher für einen schnellen Business-Launch zu Mittag. Zum Essen: Den Beilagensalat muss man sich an einem kleinen Salatbuffet selbst zusammenstellen, das Buffet war allerdings schon ziemlich „geplündert“, außerdem schmeckte der Gurkensalat nach Kühlschrank. Die anderen Salate waren aber gut und auch frisch. Das Rumpsteak selbst war auf den Punkt gebraten, die zwei Beilagen-Soßen schmeckten mir sehr gut, vielleicht in der Tat selbstgemacht. Alles in allem befriedigend, weil für mich die Atmosphäre beim Essen sehr viel ausmacht.

Every time we come to Leipzig, it is a must for us to eat at Steaktrain. The service is very courteous and attentive and the food is delicious. We had various starters, all of which were attractively presented and tasted even better. For the main course we had different steaks and side dishes. The meat was of great quality and the desired degree of doneness was spot on. The sauces complemented the main courses perfectly. The nougat mousse for dessert is also recommended. It's nice and airy and creamy. We were four adults and two children (2 & 4 years) - and the children were also very welcome. The waiter also tried very hard to understand the children's orders. All in all, another successful visit!

For a steakhouse I expect a steak that sizzles while being served at the table and is served on a hot plate. Again, the steak was cooked exactly medium 👍. The service was very good!!!!

Originelles Lokal mit Zugatmosphöre. Ansprechend eingedeckt. Zum Apéro einen Äpérol, der war ordentlich. Irgendwas zu knabbern gab es aber nicht. Brot auf dem Tisch? Auch nicht. Amuse geule mit kleinem Rindfleischsalat und zwei Baguettescheiben, lecker. Hauptgang Surf&Turf für 85 € mit Rinderfiket 180 gr. Medium rare bestellt Mit Salat vom Buffet sowie Champignons. Saucen Aioli und Kröuterbutter. Beilagen und Saucen kann man jeweils zwei Sorten auswählen. Gute Idee! Das Filet war o k. Aber nicht Medium rare. Sondern in Teilen fast durch. Einem Tischnachbar erging es ähnlich. Also offenbar ein Grundproblem. Der Hummerschwsnz mini aber ordentlich. Die Salatbar war o.k., ich liebe Gurken- und Möhrensalat in dieser typischen Gasthausqualitöt, keine Finesse, aber ich mag's. Meine Champignons waren komplett versalzen. Hab mich erst durchgebissen, aber es wurde einfach nicht besser. Das war leider nicht gut.. Beschwerde wurde wie bei meinem Tischnachbarn freundlich angenommen. Ich hätte einen Kaffee haben können. Ich hoffe, daß die Gäste am anderen Tisch, die sich dicke Scheiben vom Wagyu abschneiden ließen, bei ihrer Bestellung Medium rare mehr Glück haben bei 89 Cent pro Gramm. Als Weißwein hatte ich Bacchus aus der Gegend mit 7.50 € für 0 25 ltr sehr fair bepreist. Würde ich wieder kommen. Gerne. Vielleicht war der Grillmeister heute indisponiert oder es war ein Azubi? Also da ist noch Luft nach oben.

Was für ein kulinarisches Erlebnis , Preise etwas hochwertig aber absolut gerecht. Wir hatten das Rib-eye , das Filetsteak und das Porterhousesteak …. War alles auf den Punkt gebraten und sehr köstlich!!! Der Service durch Herrn Heinritz hat alles noch komplett gemacht. Danke für den tollen Abend wir kommen wieder!!!

We went to Steaktrain for the first time today for 1 1/2 hours after discovering the restaurant by chance online and making a reservation in advance. From the first minute the service was very friendly and accommodating. You immerse yourself in another world for a certain time. We were lucky and the restaurant was not very busy on this Saturday evening, so it was pleasantly quiet. The food came very quickly and was super tasty. Everything seems very well thought out and is of high quality. You have to experience it yourself. We recommend it to everyone and would love to come back ourselves. Thanks!

First of all, there is a wonderful atmosphere when you enter. The mood is very calm and classic, and the background music also fits in very well. I was treated very attentively by the staff and was more than satisfied with the service. A spontaneous request for an appetizer was immediately passed on to the kitchen and the preparation of the steak was postponed. The appetizer was absolutely perfect. The beef steak we ordered was cooked to perfection. I've had many steaks before, but this was absolute perfection. The side dishes were also very tasty. The dessert was also excellent. Water is always discreetly refilled during the meal. All in all, it was a perfect dinner and I will definitely come back to the restaurant on my next visit to Leipzig.

There were four of us at Steaktrain and it was a great experience from start to finish. A big compliment to Mr. Heinritz. I have rarely seen someone work in this profession with such conviction and so much sympathy.

We had a fillet steak, fried potatoes, beans, mushrooms. Tomato salsa, avocado cream, herb butter and plum chutney. The food was so fantastic that we would have had another one. Also a big compliment to the staff, who were extremely courteous and friendly. Unfortunately, it's a bit difficult to have a conversation as the facility somehow absorbs sound. The people who work at this restaurant are *********. They let people into the restaurant based on their looks. We wanted to eat at this restaurant, we have money, that's no problem, but they kicked us out because we didn't look good enough for them! Just because I don't wear Gucci or Louis Vuitton doesn't mean I can't pay for a piece of meat. If you don't wear Gucci, I don't advise you to go to this restaurant. P.S.: We are not homeless, we wear normal clothes, it's just that ********* work here!

What sick price increases these days. For example, look at the tomahawk steak: 79€ -> 105€, a whopping price increase of 26€!!! Plus surf & turf: Previously €51, now €85… simply €34 more You are crazy and want to rip us customers off. The number of portions remains the same, how are you going to justify these price increases?!?!?!? With this price increase I can order 2 main courses. To all consumers out there: Please pay closer attention to the before and after prices, it's no fun anymore This is a rip off!

The Steaktrain restaurant is an absolute must for steak lovers! As soon as we entered the restaurant we felt welcome and in good hands. The ambience is rustic yet elegant, perfect for a cozy dinner. The service was first class - the staff was friendly, attentive and very knowledgeable. Our order was taken promptly and our server's recommendations were excellent. The highlight was of course the food. The steaks were perfectly prepared, cooked to perfection and of the highest quality. The side dishes and sauces complemented the meat wonderfully and rounded off the taste experience. The drinks menu was equally impressive. The wine selection was excellent and our chosen wine went well with the steaks. Our visit was a completely successful experience. We can't wait to come back soon. Absolute recommendation for anyone who wants to enjoy an excellent steak!

There were three of us in the Steaktrain and it was great. The ambience, the food is simply great. Unfortunately, I didn't receive the entertainment receipt I requested because I thought it was among the pieces of paper that were given. Unfortunately there was no way to do it afterwards. A little different than expected. For example, I would have expected someone in a steakhouse to ask me if the steak was as I imagined it to be. I would certainly have said "yes", but unfortunately nobody asked. I would also have expected the wine to come with the steak, not just with the last bite. I poured my own water at some point after the glass had been empty for far too long, but the bottle was parked far behind me by the waiter. The quality of the food was ok, but all in all it left a somewhat strange impression. The prices would have suggested otherwise.

Didn't really feel like I was sitting on a train, but the decor is very nice and classy. The choice of food is very limited if you don't want to eat steak. The steaks were good, the ingredients were delicious. However, the burger for €25 was disappointing, ready-made paddies that were very firm...not really enjoyable. The fries were good. The staff was extremely nice and courteous. However, due to the really high prices and the limited selection, we won't be coming back.

If you like good steaks, this is the place for you. A super friendly team, you feel really comfortable here.

It was a fantastic evening at Steaktrain. Great ambience, great service and really tasty dishes. Yes, it is expensive, but you know that beforehand. And the overall package justifies these prices. The stylish surroundings and calm swing music created a pleasant atmosphere. In addition, really good advice and very good service (thanks again to Mr. G., who didn't tell us any fairy tales ;) ). The starters as well as the main courses were terrific, tasty and left nothing to be desired for us. I can recommend everyone a visit to the Steaktrain, a real “culinary train journey”.

Last night we had a wonderful evening with friends, the atmosphere was great, the music was great, the food from the starter to the dessert was amazing and what made the evening special was the outstanding service from Mr. Grimm and that's not a fairy tale 😉

Schaut man sich die Preise an, dann liegen zwischen Anspruch und Wirklichkeit ganze Welten. Die Fleischqualität ist in Ordnung, aber das wars dann auch…Die Vorspeisen mittelmäßig ohne Geschmack, die Beilagen sind Convenience-Produkte, die sich zu einem traurigen Salatbuffet mit Fertigsaucen gesellen. Der Service war freundlich und bemüht, aber leider hatte er wenig Ahnung von seinem Beruf. Bei einem Steak von 89 Euro ist auch das zu wenig.

Long planned, now finally carried out, our visit to the Leipzig "Steaktrain". First small disappointment, the most beautiful tables in the really nice train carriages are currently reserved for breakfast for hotel guests and not for guests on the steak train. A pity! So we got a seat in the large main section of the restaurant. Here too, the tables are arranged with a slight train character. A monitor hangs on the wall side of the table and is supposed to show a passing landscape. Second disappointment - the monitors are black. No landscape, no ice rink feeling. Too bad too. According to the waiter, these have been defective for about a year!? But now to the culinary side. We choose the tomahawk steak with a weight of 1000g. Which in my opinion is definitely a dish for two or more people. When ordering the side dishes, we find out that we can only order side dishes for one person; we would then have to order additional side dishes at an additional charge? At a price of €105 for the steak, a bit petty for my taste. We ordered the steak "rare" and that's exactly how it was delivered - compliments to the kitchen. The quality and taste of the meat was very good and free from criticism. The side dishes were also good, except for the sweet potato fries. Unfortunately they weren't crispy at all and had a somewhat strange aftertaste. The waiter was very friendly and helpful. Conclusion: A steak train without a train. The main reason for the visit was the steak. And that was 100% great. Otherwise there is room for improvement in one place or another.

The Steaktrain offers very tasty and perfectly prepared steaks and other delicious dishes. The dessert was a dream and the service was also great. Reservations were definitely required and should be made a few days in advance to be on the safe side.

Seaside Park Hotel Leipzig. Steaktrain is the restaurant in this hotel. It is housed in the basement. Brilliantly done. The seating options are modeled on train carriages. I fell in love. Wir haben uns an Heiligabend mit 6 Personen für das Menü im Steaktrain entschieden. Zu Beginn unseres Besuches herrschte pure Hektik. Dies war gegen 18:30 Uhr obwohl der erste Gang für 19 Uhr angekündigt war. Wir warteten auf zwei Personen unserer Gruppe. Amuse-Gueule für vier Personen stand bereits auf dem Tisch, sodass dem Kellner keine bessere Frage einfiel, ob es nicht schmecken würde, obwohl allen bewusst war, dass wir warten und nebenbei alle vier Teller unberührt waren. Des Weiteren wurden beim Servieren der Getränke, die Gläser immer am Gefäßrand gehalten. Ein No Go aus meiner Sicht. Benutztes Besteck, welches zurückgehen sollte, wurde vom Servicepersonal in das saubere, unbenutzte Besteck geschmissen. Das Essen war qualitativ gut, auch das Ambiente ist sehr schön. Sofern der Service passen würde, würde auch das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmen. Im vorigen Jahr war es definitiv besser.

Mein Persönliches lieblingssteakhouse....

Wir waren gerade eben zu Gast im Steaktrain. Es war durch und durch ein tolles erlebnis. Das Ambiente ist mal was ganz anderes und hat uns sehr gut gefallen, der Service war extrem zuvorkommend und quasi durchgehend präsent. Das essen war hervorragend ! Die Preise sind im oberen bereich angesetzt aber meiner meinung nach absolut gerechtfertigt. Das einzige "manko" , das Filetsteak meiner Freundin war nochmal ne ganze ecke besser / zarter als meins. Das wäre aber meckern auf sehr hohem Niveau ;) Danke für den schönen Abend und das tolle Essen.

Ein phantastischer Ort für ein stilvolles , geschmackvolles Abendessen in gemütlichem Ambiente. Die Servicekräfte sehr freundlich und aufmerksam, die Gerichte geschmackvoll und sehr lecker und auch die Poetionsgrößen sind groß genug. Einziger Kritikpunkt, es gab nur trockene Weine. Wir kommen auf alle Fälle wieder.

Ein 180g Steak lt. Karte , sollte auch ein 180g Steak auf auf dem Teller sein. Preis-Leistung sollte passen. Am Emfang wurde ich sehr scharf zurecht gewiesen zu warten bis Zeit wäre. Eigentlich wollte ich nur freundlich mitteilen, daß ich reserviert habe 🤨

Einfach Super... Man muss zwar ein bisschen mehr in den Geldbeutel greifen aber es lohnt sich auf jeden Fall... Das Fleisch auf den Punkt genau lecker... Und das Ambiente top man fühlt sich wirklich wie im Zug...

Titel: Ein kulinarisches Erlebnis der Extraklasse im Steaktrain! Rezension: Das Steaktrain hat mich mit einem unvergesslichen kulinarischen Erlebnis beeindruckt. Als Vorspeise wählte ich das köstliche Lachs Tartar in mediterraner Zubereitung, das meine Geschmacksknospen auf eine delikate Reise schickte. Der Hauptgang, Surf and Turf mit Gnocchi in Pesto-Sauce und Zwiebelringen, beglückte meinen Gaumen mit einer perfekten Kombination von Aromen. Die Kräuter- und Trüffelbutter rundeten das Gericht perfekt ab. Obwohl mein ursprünglicher Plan, den Cheesecake zu kosten, aufgrund seiner Beliebtheit vereitelt wurde, entpuppte sich die Nougat Mousse als süße Überraschung und ein würdiger Abschluss für mein Dinner. Das Ambiente im Steaktrain war erstklassig, und die Bedienung sorgte für einen zuvorkommenden Service. Das Steaktrain ist die perfekte Wahl für Feinschmecker, die auf der Suche nach einem gastronomischen Höhepunkt sind.
