Steakhouse & Restaurant Büttgen in Kaarst

We had a Sunday reservation for 6 people online with confirmation. When we arrived, it was packed, and a table for 10 had been prepared. The staff kept us standing for five minutes until, after some inconvenience, two guests were moved, we were seated. The menus were carelessly slammed onto the table. I felt the staff were hopelessly overwhelmed. Before we got our drinks, the soup was already served, and the main course followed immediately. In 2024, the restaurant had great and friendly service, which isn't something you can say now. Quite unfriendly. The food was, as always, very good.

We had reserved a table for three people for 7 p.m. The food was very good yesterday. Before we could order dessert at around 8 p.m., the bill was presented to us without comment. True to the motto: Please pay and leave! The time window for a meal of just under 60 minutes is a bit tight; it should have been 90 minutes. Kicking a guest out like that only leads to annoyance and ultimately my decision: That's it. I won't be back. Good luck with the concept!

We were invited to lunch. Six people, one of whom was in a wheelchair. It was no problem; the table was quickly arranged so that everyone could sit comfortably. The service was very friendly and helpful, and the food and drinks were served promptly. The food arrived very quickly and was plentiful and delicious. We were very surprised by the quantity, the presentation, and the price. Perfect for a lunch menu. I'm sure we'll meet there often and enjoy good, delicious food. Thanks to the steakhouse team.

We've chosen Lu.st as our favorite highlight restaurant for the whole family.😁😍 Everything is authentic and the food is first-class. 🥳 Whenever there's something to celebrate or we need a break, we head to Lu.st and usually order rump steaks because they taste simply unbelievable. 😋 I enjoy watching the grill master and chef because you can feel so much joy and expertise in the preparation. We always enjoy coming back to Steakhouse Büttgen. The food is fantastic and the value for money is good. The service is also excellent, and the waiters are very friendly and attentive.

Yesterday, we (10 people) were here for lunch. The restaurant was very busy. The food met expectations, but the service was overwhelmed. Everything took a little longer, but that wouldn't have led to my poor rating. Here are the shortcomings: One person in our group didn't receive their food until after everyone else had finished eating. There was no apology. During the clearing, we were asked if we were satisfied. My brother replied that we weren't. The server wasn't interested and left without further ado. When we asked for the bill shortly afterward and said we wanted to pay separately, we were told that this wasn't possible because the restaurant was too full.

Very, very tasty, great service, and child-friendly. If you're staying in Büttgen, you should definitely try it. The central location and plenty of parking are another plus. Lots of guests, so it's best to make a reservation, and it's very popular in the village. We'd love to come back!

Food cold, beer warm, service lousy!

Very good steaks, burgers look fantastic (I haven't tried one yet, but they look promising!), and I thought the grilled veal liver was super delicious! The service is very friendly; the atmosphere is pleasant. Parking is easy in front of the restaurant. Unfortunately, there is no outdoor terrace, and only a few spaces in front of and to the side of the restaurant.

First time here and not disappointed. Friendly service, excellent food. We had the Argentinian steak platter, dinner for two. The meat was cooked to perfection and really tasty. A good portion, we were stuffed. Parking right in front of the door. We'd love to come back.

We ate here with our family (10 people in total). Parking is available right in front of the door. We received a friendly welcome at the door and were shown to our table. The steakhouse itself has a welcoming atmosphere. The interior is bright and modern. The kitchen is open, so you can practically look over the chef's shoulder. This gives the impression that only the highest quality is being offered to customers. The tables are also attractively set. For starters, there is crusty bread with aioli (it's something special! 🫠) and olives. For the main course, you can choose from a variety of dishes, such as fish, burgers, steaks, and meat platters. A salad bar invites self-service. Everything is fresh and crispy🥬. I chose the Luxury Burger here. The Angus beef was free of gristle, perfectly grilled, and juicy. A real treat! A delicacy combined with the Serrano ham.🍔 My partner's pork medallions in champignon sauce were very tender, and the sauce was well-seasoned. They were served with crispy fries. For dessert, we had a strawberry ice cream sundae (see photo). It's impressive! My stepmother was thrilled 😀 The price-performance ratio is absolutely perfect. We are all very grateful for this wonderful evening. Everyone enjoyed it. A special thank you goes to the slim waiter in black (sorry, we didn't know his name) who guided us through the evening with his wit and friendliness. We'll be back!🙏

Great quality, friendly staff, large portions

Highly recommended. We got a seat without a reservation, and everyone found something on the menu. The restaurant is more for meat eaters. Those who like steak or burgers will love it. Burgers were also available vegetarian. Fresh, warm bread with olives and dip was served as a starter. Salad was available, but we didn't get around to it. We were very happy with the bread 😀 We had steak, burgers, and schnitzel. And everyone enjoyed it. The service was first-class, leaving nothing to be desired. All in all, it's a very nice restaurant with a modern ambiance and a small outdoor terrace. We'll be back.

We were here for the first time today with 6 people and 2 small children. We chose dishes from the 4-course lunch menu and were very satisfied. The portions are large, the salad buffet has a great selection and the food tasted delicious. With soup, main course and dessert, we were all completely full!!! The staff is very nice and we were served quickly. Definitely good reasons to come back again!!!

We had a salad from the buffet and 2 main courses as well as a small dessert. Everything excellent, great service. Almost completely happy, there's not much left to achieve the 5th star. We'll come back and have a good time!

Steak, burgers and Wvhnitzel. Everything is delicious, especially in this restaurant. The steak is incredibly juicy and perfectly cooked, the burgers are very tasty and the schnitzel is perfectly breaded and fried. The staff is nice and the side dishes such as fries, croquettes and baked potatoes are extremely tasty! A definite recommendation for a good and fair price!

The salad bar = small but nice. For each There is something about taste. As in every steak house, the usual procedure. First a soup and then finally a dessert. But it doesn't cost anything either. The food was a better grilled dish. The fries were the typical ones from Holland. Also really nice Cross. I had to add some seasoning to suit my taste (pepper & salt) I also received Kreuter butter when I asked. The whole thing was in d. Former. Village pub. The entire space has been redesigned a bit. The whole thing is positive. There is a lot of service on offer. The prices were in the middle. There are also enough parking spaces there. This restaurant is right on Town Hall Square. With d. You can also get to BÜTTGEN by S-Bahn. All in all just great. 👍

We reserved a table for 4 online in advance for 6:30 p.m. When we arrived at the restaurant, we stood at the entrance and were initially ignored by the staff because it was so full. After about 20 minutes of waiting, we got a table at about 6:50 p.m. Then we had to wait again until someone came with the menu. The three waiters present were completely overwhelmed. Only when we asked if we could order did someone come to our table. (At this time, guests arriving later had already been given a table, a greeting from the house, drinks and the order for food.) The drinks we ordered were brought incorrectly (1 bottle of wine was ordered and 1 filled glass was only served). We didn't receive the greeting from the house like other guests and until we got the starter, we were there for a long time. We can't say anything bad about the food. Everything was delicious and fresh. We haven't had something this good in a long time. All of our steaks were as ordered. Not too well done or too raw. The chef knows his craft. Absolute minus point, the waiters. Absolutely overwhelmed. Since we had been without drinks for a while, we went to the bar and wanted to order something. The gentleman behind the bar became very unfriendly. That doesn't work at all. We are guests and all the money is there, even if it is full, you should stay friendly or hire more staff. The atmosphere was still a bit very Christmassy. We'll try again another day to see if this day was an exception or if it's always so chaotic.

It used to be much better. We weren't overly impressed with the food and the service (the older gentleman) was lackluster and didn't seem very excited about having guests there. Too bad.

Amazing restaurant, and the steak is outstanding.

Unfortunately the staff changed three weeks ago, but until then we were always very satisfied. When it comes to service, you're simply at a loss for words, no proper greeting, and three of the four drinks were delivered incorrectly. The waiter could not answer questions about the dishes. Tuesday is schnitzel day and the waitress couldn't even give any information about the different schnitzels. The quality of the food has also declined in the last few weeks; unfortunately the meat tasted very oily. All in all, all points should be improved as quickly as possible.

We were at the restaurant today at 6:30 p.m. at the reserved time. We were dictated to the table without much greeting. From then on it just got less friendly. The waiter put the card in front of us without any big words (4x cards instead of 2x - well that can happen). We immediately ordered something to drink, and the Fanta we ordered tasted like it came from leftovers thrown together. The food was brought to our table relatively quickly without much demand. We were wondering why there was no bread/olive ayoli at our table or served. When asked, the waiter reacted very annoyed. But then it really got to the point, there was no question as to whether everything was OK with the food... in general, the behavior of all the waiters seemed uninviting. After asking that we would like to pay, the bill was handed over very quickly, even since there was no question about how the food was, no thanks... (despite this extremely poor service, I still tipped over €3!). The food itself was ok, typical of current gastronomy very expensive (bill just under €60). The service would have earned minus stars, of course it was quite full, but you can still expect the basic requirements of politeness and hospitality. The first but also the last time for us!

The monthly meeting was held here with 5 pensioners. Except for the unusual sauce on the spareribs, everyone was happy.

A nice restaurant to eat but not for me. I don't speak fluent German, which presented a language barrier. Both waiters couldn't speak English. One of the waiters immediately became rude when he found out we didn't speak German. Finally we ordered what we wanted and I took a schnitzel. After I ate a piece of it, it immediately came back up. By the way, I'm not allergic to it. I then walked out of the restaurant because I felt sick. When I returned I was stared at by both the waiters and the chef. I explained to them why I couldn't continue eating and why I left. I asked to take the schnitzel with me and later threw it away myself so as not to offend the chef. All in all: A little more friendliness would have been nice, and it would have been appropriate to take the schnitzel off the bill or something similar.

We were there with 10 people to go bowling. The restaurant has 2 lanes that run well but can also use a vacuum cleaner. When we entered we were very shocked because the place was packed, which seemed to speak for the quality of the food. We were afraid that we would have to wait a long time on the train because of the busy traffic. We were then pleasantly surprised because the service was there quickly, picked up drinks and delivered them promptly, and the food order was also delivered quickly. The service staff were committed and nice, except for one person who served perfectly but somehow had a grumpy face. Maybe that just had to do with the form of the day. The food itself was very well received by almost everyone, the steaks in particular were praised, but of course it's a matter of taste. At the end of the evening at 10 p.m. the staffing level was down to one employee, which led to an unpleasant wait at the checkout because it was not possible to pay at the table or on the train. There was also a misunderstanding when paying, which was only noticed later, but was solved by the restaurant confidently and without fuss, which I would like to particularly highlight, as complaints cannot always be resolved without anger. My conclusion: The quality of the food is positive, especially the steaks are perfectly prepared. In terms of price, you're expecting something, but that's obviously accepted. In short: A good recommendation.

The house itself is beautiful and always up-to-date, for example there were unobtrusive, beautiful Christmas decorations today on November 27th, 24. the food, especially the steak, is fantastic and the hospitable and helpful waiters are always on hand when you need them. I can only recommend that you at least try it

Hello everyone, Whether with the whole family or often with a friend or alone with my husband, we have always been very satisfied so far. The friendly service, atmosphere, the food was beautifully prepared, everything was fresh, everything was clean, just great 👍 My daughter was there last weekend with 20 work colleagues and received great praise from everyone

Staff seemed very overwhelmed. We were there with a larger group and just wanted to drink coffee or something similar. When a friend asked if she could order another latte macchiato, the service person said if we still had glasses. Little tip, you can get them at Ikea for 1 euro. It was nice that we didn't have to pay for the cold latte macchiato.

There are still very good restaurants that offer very fair prices for very good food. That's exactly what you get at this steak house. We ordered the Bütt grill plate for 2 people for 55 euros. 8 different steaks including grilled vegetables and fries + salad were served for everyone. We were so full that we had to have the rest packed up. At the end there was a very tasty (slivovitz?) on the house. As of today I have another favorite on my list. Thank you for this very good experience.

We arrived at 1:55 p.m. and were immediately asked to leave; lunch break was at 2:30 p.m. Then you have to write by when you are wanted. That was a disgrace Answer: The opening time is 2:30 p.m. Even on the sign at the entrance. Then it has to say when entry is no longer allowed. The answer is just as outrageous as your employee's behavior.

I can highly recommend the steak platter for 2 people! 8 steaks + side dish (fried potatoes, vegetables etc.) and side salad from the buffet for 33 euros per person. Top! Service is mostly good.

We were greeted warmly and friendly and then unfortunately forgotten. After what felt like an eternity we were asked if we had found anything yet. Several tables that arrived after us were served well in advance and were already eating when we only got drinks and appetizers. Unfortunately, the main course was grilled to death and therefore not edible. Super nice service, but unfortunately a sad experience.

Two of us went to this restaurant for the first time and had a lovely evening there. The service was always friendly and attentive. The “greetings from the kitchen” - the olives & aioli tasted very good. The main course was absolutely fantastic - steak was cooked to perfection, the food was hot (something I haven't had in other restaurants for a long time) and despite the dining room being full, the food was served quickly. The cappuccino was also very tasty. Conclusion: we are very, very happy to come back - many thanks to the great team.

It was my first time here and I was very impressed. We ate fish and steak and everything was great.

The food is really excellent, especially the aioli and the homemade fries are great. The staff is great, friendly and quick. The lunch menu is also recommended, but you should be hungry enough, otherwise you won't be able to finish the four courses :-) A small drawback is the high volume when the restaurant is full, hence "only" four stars for the ambience.

It was impressive from the first minute to the last. Freshly prepared food was served for two people at the same time, with special requests. Juicy, tender turkey, tender pork, juicy beef with the most delicious roasted aromas, prepared to perfection, with fresh salad from the buffet and sweet potato fries. The prices are cheap, the portions are reasonable (rather too much). Lunch menu highly recommended! The ambience is modern, comfortable and decorated in warm, feel-good colors. Well-designed local lighting promotes the general mood in a positive way. Tasteful seasonal decorations also contribute. Staff trained, attentive, friendly and unobtrusive. Kitchen counter with a clear view of some of the preparation sections of a good and very clean catering kitchen. This is where the enjoyment begins and it remains impressive until the end. We'll be back and are really looking forward to it.

The schnitzel looked big at first glance, but it was more breading than meat. The meat was blotter thick. Drinks took ages as the restaurant was full. The staff was very friendly and did their best. Maybe hire more service staff on weekends. The staff, ambience and service were top. The food, however, was 08/15
