Steakhaus El Tori in Dorsten

It was the worst meal I have ever eaten in a restaurant, there were five of us there and everyone was dissatisfied with their food. The beef steak itself was actually good, but unfortunately the side dishes were not, with a few exceptions. The onion soup was just bread and cheese. The pork tenderloin was fried to death and dry. The menu reads better as is the food.

On weekends in the summer we like to go to the beer garden for a little rest on our walks. Lunch is also highly recommended during the week.

The stars say it all, we'll be happy to come back!!!!

We had dinner with my wife and four friends. Most of us wanted to eat steak. That was a poem. I haven't eaten something so delicious in a long time. The recommended red wine rounded off the taste. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was perfect. Added to this is the location next to the lake. I can recommend the restaurant with a clear conscience. 5 stars for that 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

We were there on Wednesday, December 25th, 2024, with 15 people, our mother was 85 years old! It was a surprise for you🎉 When we arrived we were told straight away that the table would be reserved again at 6 p.m.! At 4:00 p.m. we had a drink.... At 4:30 p.m. the drinks were finally taken... at 4:40 p.m., food...! Food came quickly! The plates didn't exactly look inviting! Probably just put everything on it! Almost all of us had pork fillet, with croquettes or fries! Lukewarm, the meat, the broklo...,, firm to the bite,, without a little sauce berna...,! That was really a joke! And always on the back of the boss!🙁 with the information that the next reser would be at 6 p.m..,,.so!! Hurry up! We won't go there again!! The entire bill was placed on the table so we could work out what everyone had to pay! Thanks! For this,,great service,,!!!! Thank God the service was friendly!

Unfortunately our visit was disappointing. We felt pressed for time as we were told that new guests would arrive after two hours, which made the evening less relaxing. The bill was simply placed on the table without support from the staff - we were supposed to calculate the positions ourselves for three families. When we asked, we were told that we were the only ones complaining about this. Interestingly, there are other reviews that were also dissatisfied with it. The owner's comments under these “Please don't honor us again” reflect the service atmosphere quite well. Overall, the staff was rather rushed and sometimes rude. The food wasn't bad, but just mediocre. Unfortunately we cannot recommend the restaurant.

Unfortunately I have to agree with the last comments. We had an appointment at Christmas time and were under enormous time pressure. Here we were processed in a similar way to McDonald's and we were told to please hurry up. Only two hours would be reserved. Food was actually okay and came quickly Furthermore, we had to split the bill between 5 parties. The staff wasn't able to do that, otherwise the queue at the checkout would be too long. So we should calculate it ourselves and have it ready. Of course, card payment was NOT possible either. I can only speculate why. We definitely won't be coming back here. Pure greed for profit. The nice thing is that word like this gets around and the receipt will come. You can also save yourself a sharp comment, like with the other reviews. Don't bother, that's what we're used to here.

It is not recommended to eat there at Christmas. You are constantly told how long you can sit at the table, and the schedule between reservations can be improved. Service not very friendly. Food was delicious.

We imagined our Christmas dinner to be a little different. We were informed a total of 3-4 times that the table could only be occupied for two hours, which was a bit annoying. There were lettuce leaves in the starter salad that could no longer be defined, so even the service staff turned up their noses when clearing away. Drinks were only served sparingly and you had the feeling that you were constantly under time pressure. The service seemed annoyed. Christmas dinner is different... so definitely not recommended at Christmas time.

We were there for Christmas dinner with the family, there was time pressure right from the start, it was emphasized again and again that they had only reserved the table until 4 p.m., then at 3:30 p.m. the boss came over and said we could order another drink but until 4 p.m The table must be free at noon. There was tremendous time pressure for everyone. And in the end, the service staff couldn't even split the bill between several parties; we had to do this. Overall it was unworthy of a Christmas dinner!!! Oh, I almost forgot about the food, but it wasn't worth mentioning. Our conclusion: It's good that there are other places for a nice Christmas dinner.

I ate there to visit relatives and I will come again. See you next time. There was nothing to complain about.

Nice, bright restaurant, friendly reception, we were allowed to choose a table. I thought that was very good. Everything was clean and tidy. The service was quick and friendly. The food was plentiful and tasty, although my meat was still bloody and not as I would have liked. I wanted it cooked, but it was really bloody. Therefore only 4 points.

I've been there again after a long time and I'm even more excited than the last time!!! As always, I ate my crust and was not only thrilled with the schnitzel but also with the fries, which were really crispy and perfectly seasoned! My two colleagues each had a steak plate and a 300g steak, which they were more than happy with!!! The waiters were always on the lookout to fulfill our every wish, something I have rarely experienced!!! If you don't believe me, see for yourself!!! Thanks to the entire El Tori team and respect for how much love and professionalism you work with.

Too bad! It could have been so good! The ambience is okay. A bit rustic for us, but perfectly acceptable. In summer the view of the lake is certainly wonderful. The staff was friendly. However, we were wondering why we were asked when ordering whether we would pay in cash or by card. Very strange. We weren't given the cards in our hands, they were instead placed at the head of the table. Service is somehow different. The waiting time for drinks and food was very short. The food looked very good at first. Unfortunately, after cutting the meat in half, we both discovered that it wasn't medium, as ordered, but completely rare. Not just the core, as can certainly happen depending on the piece of meat, but the entire piece. No, we didn't want to eat raw meat. So we both returned the dishes. After cooking, the pieces were medium well, which was fine. Both dishes were really good in terms of taste and quantity. When the latte macchiato came, I shook. A short, frizzy hair hung at the edge. The spoons were also covered in stains, even if they were just water stains, that's unsightly. There were also indefinable dark particles on the saucer. We removed the hair ourselves, but we should have complained about it straight away. The dessert was very tasty, although quite expensive. It could have been a lot more points, but raw meat and a hair on the glass just don't work...

Highly recommended, I and my husband have been regular customers for years. The food tastes very good. The ambience is very cozy and beautifully furnished, the staff is nice and friendly, always 5 stars are not enough to give, I give 10,000 stars ⭐️

We came here for the first time on a recommendation and we were not disappointed! The location is super nice, you feel really comfortable. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food, more specifically the steaks, are simply breathtaking! We've traveled a lot but these are definitely the best steaks! We would love to come back and would heartily recommend it to anyone else.

Very friendly service. Fast service. Despite the steakhouse, I decided on schnitzel (crustlets). The food was fresh and delicious. I really liked the mushroom sauce and pepper sauce. The Rösti thalers were perfectly prepared. I don't really like the pink mayo dressing on the side salad. I think it's a shame that some of the dishes are chipped. Great location with great lake views from the winter garden and terrace.

We were out with the cycling group and took a lunch break at El Tori. We had four different dishes and everyone enjoyed the food excellently. There were also various vegetarian dishes and the vegetable stir-fry was also very tasty. The service staff was very friendly and attentive. An absolute recommendation from all of us.

We ate a zander fillet and turkey liver here yesterday. The pike perch fillet was the best thing I've eaten so far. And the liver was also super tasty. Also a really great location. Right on the lake and a large terrace. All I can say is that I was thrilled. Grade 1++++++

Nice restaurant and very nice ambience. My liver wasn't quite as good, rather a bit dry, and onions were fried. The other dishes were much better for my “blackheads”.

We ate here for grandma's birthday. The location by the lake is great, but the disappointment came when ordering... NO wine list in the steakhouse and only 1 red wine?!?! Then came the steak...port wine steak medium with plum crust...the steak was subpar, bland, watery and tasteless...the plum crust was a tasteless piece of something and the port wine sauce was something tasteless red...worst steak ever and that in a supposed “steakhouse” Plus a scratchy Rioja, hardly drinkable and the other 3 meals were bland, too dry and not edible. NEVER again and I can only advise against it

Carpaccio war eine Frechheit 3 kleine Scheiben Fleisch ein paar Krümel Käse der Parmezaan sein sollte aber es nicht war und jede menge Ruccula. Das Filetsteak war voller Sehnen konnte man nicht essen. Das Gehaktessteak gefüllt mit Mozarella war ohne Geschmack, roh van innen und der Mozarella war nog hart und nicht geschmolzen. Es ging natürlich zurück in die Küche und kam dann als Schuhsohle zurück, so trocken. Keine Weinkarte anwesend, hallo in einem Steakhaus??? Und das alles für 105 Euro.

Wir waren zu Omas Geburtstag hier essen. Sie Lage ist super, aber die Enttäuschung kam schon beim bestellen… KEINE Weinkarte im Steakhaus und nur 1 Rotwein?!?! Dann kam das Steak… Portweinsteak Medium mit Pflaumenkruste… das Steak war unterirdisch, fade, wässrig und geschmacklos… die Pflaumenkruste ein geschmackloses aufgelegtes Stück von irgendwas und die Portweinsosse irgendwas geschmackloses rotes… schlechtestes Steak ever und das in einem angeblichen „Steakhouse“ Dazu ein kratziger Rioja, kaum trinkbar und auch die anderen 3 essen waren fade, zu trocken und nicht genießbar. NIE wieder und ich kann jedem nur abraten

We once had dinner at El Tori with a large group. First of all, the positive points. The view is great, with a direct view of the blue lake. The winter garden is very beautiful and bright. The El Tori team gave us a friendly welcome and excellent service. The food came to the table quickly, completely, at the same time (despite 15 people) and hot in sufficient quantities. Unfortunately, when it comes to eating we also come to the negative points. I ordered a “fish bag (3 types of fish)” with vegetables and potatoes. For both me and the person sitting next to me, the fish bag was more of a vegetable bag with fish instead of a fish bag with vegetables. The ratio was estimated at 30-35% fish and 65-70% vegetables. Due to the high vegetable content, the bag was also very watery and had little taste, despite seasoning with salt and pepper. The potatoes came as a side dish on a separate plate and weren't particularly noteworthy, just potatoes with herbs and rosemary. For me, more than half has gone back. I ate the manageable portion of fish + a small portion of the vegetables and potatoes. The second dish I can judge is my son's. He had a children's plate with fries and schnitzel. The fries were good and nice and crunchy, unfortunately the schnitzel was “fried to death” My personal conclusion: For a short walk around the lake, followed by a wheat beer, just the right thing to quench your thirst. In order to have a delicious meal, I'll drive 3 km further to the nearest steakhouse in the future... Post from 2023 since this was deleted. I can't judge the current status.

I can give 5 stars for everything here with confidence. Very nice atmosphere. The food was very good, as was the service and the staff. There was enough parking space. Very clean toilets. Price/performance ratio is completely fine.

We spontaneously went to this steakhouse for dinner yesterday. The outdoor spaces are really attractive. After we sat down, the cutlery and the card arrived promptly. First we wanted to see what there was to drink. The selection is, to put it bluntly, tiny. It ended up being a bottle of water and a Coke Zero for my husband. The drinks were brought quickly and we were immediately asked if we knew what we wanted to eat. We still needed a moment there too. At that point, two different people were already serving us. Then we waited and waited. A family sat down next to us and was actually able to order food earlier than us. Well, we have placed our order. The starter consisted of a mixed salad and for my husband beef carpaccio, mozzarella and rocket. My husband asked if the tomatoes could be left out and that was no problem. The appetizer came and my salad was solid. My husband's appetizer cost 14.90, there were two mini slices of beef a bunch. Arugula and three thick slices of cheap mozzarella. A disgrace for the price. The main courses arrived. A grill plate without tzatziki and my Bombay turkey. This was supposed to be a curry that wasn't made with coconut milk but with cream. The rice was swimming in butter. The end of the song was we were disappointed, we left very quickly and won't be coming back. In total we had three people serving. Conclusion: the quality wasn't good enough for us for a steakhouse.

Hello, we haven't eaten here for a long time and wanted to visit here again. We used to always be happy. Unfortunately the food this time was not enough. The meat was fried very dry. In addition, the restaurant is in poor condition. The carpet in the winter garden looks very unappetizing, the painted picture on the wall is unsightly due to broken plaster. Unfortunately, after a while they forgot about us and we were only able to order drinks again if we asked ourselves. Therefore, the restaurant is currently not recommended compared to others in Dorsten.

I wanted to go out to eat with my new wife... But when my wife ordered, I saw that she seemed to be letting herself go too... nevertheless, despite the food and the staff, it was very good! Large portions, good value for money! Well attended, therefore a bit noisy. However, it makes it much easier to release body gases. My hairstyle was perfect too, so it was a successful evening! Hello, I've actually always been whole satisfied with you. The view of the lake always made up for it. But you're slowly making yourself unpopular and not just with me! How can it be that you are currently charging 2 euros more for menus on the bill than what is on the menu??!! And it's not uncommon for the service to forget something and then blame it on someone else! You should all know better. Your question about cash or card payment before ordering is borderline. You're already making yourself suspicious. You have very good competitors who are easy to avoid!!! Addendum: There were no special requests, so this is not a reason for the additional costs, and nothing was communicated. Both dishes were 2 euros more expensive than stated. You should probably do the work of comparing your cash register and the menus yourself. I only noticed the difference later. What's interesting, however, is that you don't find criticism of your service as bad as criticism of the quality of your products. By the way, I didn't assume anything and if you think that I don't like "The Dorstener", which for me doesn't exist as a homogeneous mass (which is not true at all), that seems to be an excuse for you, but that doesn't change your mistakes at all nothing. I'm not acting for a competitor here either!

We think that something like that has a strange aftertaste. Of course we told the waiter there. But I don't know if it achieved anything. Without this incident we would have given one more star!

Good day. I agree with the people with the grappa story. Also sat at the same table. For presenting the review as a lie, you only get one star even though the food was good. There was definitely no price mentioned. I don't know if you're the waiter with the beard or someone else. It's a real shame that you damage your reputation with things like this. I paid the bill of almost 300 euros and a 10 euro tip for their people without any problems. But apparently positive criticism at the table is a no-go for them. Wish you a nice day.

Wir haben zum ersten Mal das Restaurant besucht. Essen war gut, sowie der Service. Wir haben schnell die Getränke und unser Essen bekommen. Das was wir nicht in Ordnung fanden, war dass der Kellner nach dem Essen mit einer Flasche Grappa kam und uns fragte ob wir einen möchten. Ehrlich gesagt dachten wir er ginge aufs Haus, als Digestif nach dem Essen. Dass der Grappa 11 EUR pro Glas kostet hat der Herr vergessen es uns zu sagen. Da wir später noch mehr bestellten ohne zu ahnen zu welchem Preis, hatten wir am Ende fast 45 EUR für 4 Grappas bezahlt. Wir finden dass so was einen komischen Nachgeschmack hat. Das haben wir natürlich dem Kellner vor Ort mitgeteilt. Aber ich weiß nicht ob es was gebracht hat. Ohne diesen Zwischenfall hätten wir einen Stern mehr gegeben!
