Steakhaus El Tori in Dorsten

It's a great restaurant. We had a delicious meal, especially the rump steak with onion. Service was very quick at first, but once we finished, we weren't asked for drinks or payment. You have to create the atmosphere yourself. I found it very cozy.

We were invited there for a small family celebration. The service was all very friendly, and the food was truly delicious. The prices, like many others, have risen a bit and are on the slightly higher end. However, since the quality is good and we were otherwise satisfied, we give it full marks.

I've been there several times. I only had diarrhea once. It's a good meal. I would recommend it. The food tastes good.

It was an invitation to a friend's missed birthday. For a steakhouse, I have to say, the level of doneness was completely off. But it's not about always complaining. We sat outside in beautiful weather, received excellent service, and enjoyed a good lunch.

We were here for a late Sunday lunch. The restaurant was quite busy, but we managed to get a table for four. The food was okay. The restrooms were clean and surprisingly spacious.

Here you can eat delicious food, there is a lovely large terrace on a fantastically beautiful lake.

Very nice location on the Blue Lake in Dorsten. Dine in the restaurant or on the terrace. In nice weather, it's also a nice place for a stroll. Menu: Good selection of dishes. Cold and warm appetizers, fish and steak dishes, and various schnitzel dishes. Of course, there's also a delicious dessert 😋

Update from July 20, 2025: We were at El Tori again today with several people. We had a table on the outdoor terrace, right next to the winter garden. The view of the lake and the direct access are a dream in themselves. The platters for two people were absolutely fantastic. Incredibly delicious, and the portions were generous. The staff were, as always, very polite and friendly! I wish I could give this restaurant twice the stars. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ Wonderfully delicious food, very friendly staff, top service. A sophisticated ambiance. There's an outdoor terrace with a fantastic view of the lake. We'd go back anytime. Highly recommended!

I was there recently with my girlfriend, and it was a fantastic experience! We got a table straight away and were greeted and served promptly and in a very friendly manner! The outdoor area with a view of the nearby lake was very inviting and offered the perfect opportunity to sit outside when the weather was nice. We didn't have to wait long for our food and everything was absolutely delicious! The steaks were really, really good and we were impressed by the quality, especially considering the price! It was really fair! The staff were really friendly and we felt very comfortable. At the end of a really lovely evening, we even got ice cream sundaes on the house because the really great waiter was happy to welcome young guests! All in all, we had a really lovely evening and will definitely be back!

The food was fresh and flavorful. We were charged €4 for mayo and ketchup, which I found outrageous. Great ambiance with a view of the lake.

Yes, very nicely situated on a small lake

I won't be eating there again. My steak was cold. All eight of us got our food at the same time after a five-minute wait after ordering. My steak was medium and cold. My sister's grilled meat was partly raw or undercooked. If you ordered Coke Zero, you got Coke Diet 😂. The schnitzels looked good and, according to my uncle and brother, they were great, even in terms of taste. But no thanks again. We were very disappointed. The conservatory is nice, but they could definitely remove the cobwebs and wash the curtains. The chairs (upholstery) should also be cleaned. They didn't look very appealing. I'd rather go to Grütering or Beisenbusch.

We gave the restaurant a second chance, but were disappointed, with only a few exceptions. There are many little things that just don't fit. The service is good, but the food is of subpar quality.

Everything is simply great, I can really recommend it!!!

A culinary highlight in Dorsten – El Toro is a must! I absolutely loved my visit to El Toro! As soon as you enter, you are greeted by a warm, inviting atmosphere - stylish, cozy and furnished with great attention to detail. The service was excellent: attentive, friendly and yet pleasantly unobtrusive. You can immediately tell that the work here is done with heart. The food? Simply fantastic! The steaks are grilled to perfection, tender and full of flavor. The side dishes, especially the homemade sauces and the fresh vegetables, were also perfectly balanced. I can particularly recommend the fillet steak – a real culinary delight! The wine selection is exquisite and rounds off the culinary experience wonderfully. Price-performance ratio is right across the board. Conclusion: El Toro is much more than just a restaurant - it is a place to enjoy and feel good. I'll definitely be back and highly recommend it to everyone!

Went there for dinner recently and the food wasn't actually bad. I still only give it 3 stars because: There was PLASTIC FOIL in my wife's side salad, which was only seen at the last moment through the salad dressing. I then spoke to the service in the restaurant. My wife was then offered a cappuccino to make up for it. A) Something like that shouldn't happen. Well, it's all just people B) In such a situation, as a “host”, I would have reacted more confidently. In my opinion, a cappuccino is not an adequate substitute for a course whose experience is appropriate due to almost eating cling film. Here you could have responded with a dessert on the house or if necessary. even with a discount on the food. In my opinion, a drink was not appropriate here. Detached from this, this review should and must NOT be considered a knockout. criterion for a visit. It is only intended to be a constructive criticism of how to deal with complaints. Otherwise everything was good so far!

Below average food! I've eaten better in canteens. The meat was well fried but not seasoned. The side dishes were poorly seasoned or not seasoned at all and some of the vegetables were completely overcooked. It's better to focus on quality instead of quantity. Too much of everything that wasn't done well. The critical waiter saved the matter. Not necessarily a recommendation.

Wir haben hier am 14.02.25 mit unseren Trauzeugen nach unserer Standesamtlichen Trauung zu Mittag gegessen. Es war unser 1. Besuch und garantiert nicht der letzte. Wir waren zu fünft und alle begeistert. Hatten einen Tisch im Wintergarten bestellt, aber micht im gesagt das es sich um ein Hochzeitsessen handelt. Der Service und das Personal sehr gut und sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir freuen uns schon aufs nächste Mal.

The steakhouse offers a really great atmosphere, especially the winter garden with its wonderful view of the lake makes your stay something special. The combination of the cozy ambience and the quiet location creates a relaxed, inviting atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious! The steaks were perfectly prepared, tender and tasteful. The side dishes and selection of sauces were also excellent - you can tell that a lot of emphasis is placed on quality and fresh ingredients. The service is particularly noteworthy: the staff was very friendly, attentive and professional without seeming intrusive. You felt well looked after and welcome all around. All in all, a wonderful place that I can definitely recommend. I will definitely come back to try more of the delicious menu and enjoy the beautiful lake view!

It was the worst meal I have ever eaten in a restaurant, there were five of us there and everyone was dissatisfied with their food. The beef steak itself was actually good, but unfortunately the side dishes were not, with a few exceptions. The onion soup was just bread and cheese. The pork tenderloin was fried to death and dry. The menu reads better as is the food.

On weekends in the summer we like to go to the beer garden for a little rest on our walks. Lunch is also highly recommended during the week.

The stars say it all, we'll be happy to come back!!!!

Unfortunately our visit was disappointing. We felt pressed for time as we were told that new guests would arrive after two hours, which made the evening less relaxing. The bill was simply placed on the table without support from the staff - we were supposed to calculate the positions ourselves for three families. When we asked, we were told that we were the only ones complaining about this. Interestingly, there are other reviews that were also dissatisfied with it. The owner's comments under these “Please don't honor us again” reflect the service atmosphere quite well. Overall, the staff was rather rushed and sometimes rude. The food wasn't bad, but just mediocre. Unfortunately we cannot recommend the restaurant.

We had dinner with my wife and four friends. Most of us wanted to eat steak. That was a poem. I haven't eaten something so delicious in a long time. The recommended red wine rounded off the taste. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was perfect. Added to this is the location next to the lake. I can recommend the restaurant with a clear conscience. 5 stars for that 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

We were there on Wednesday, December 25th, 2024, with 15 people, our mother was 85 years old! It was a surprise for you🎉 When we arrived we were told straight away that the table would be reserved again at 6 p.m.! At 4:00 p.m. we had a drink.... At 4:30 p.m. the drinks were finally taken... at 4:40 p.m., food...! Food came quickly! The plates didn't exactly look inviting! Probably just put everything on it! Almost all of us had pork fillet, with croquettes or fries! Lukewarm, the meat, the broklo...,, firm to the bite,, without a little sauce berna...,! That was really a joke! And always on the back of the boss!🙁 with the information that the next reser would be at 6 p.m..,,.so!! Hurry up! We won't go there again!! The entire bill was placed on the table so we could work out what everyone had to pay! Thanks! For this,,great service,,!!!! Thank God the service was friendly!

Unfortunately I have to agree with the last comments. We had an appointment at Christmas time and were under enormous time pressure. Here we were processed in a similar way to McDonald's and we were told to please hurry up. Only two hours would be reserved. Food was actually okay and came quickly Furthermore, we had to split the bill between 5 parties. The staff wasn't able to do that, otherwise the queue at the checkout would be too long. So we should calculate it ourselves and have it ready. Of course, card payment was NOT possible either. I can only speculate why. We definitely won't be coming back here. Pure greed for profit. The nice thing is that word like this gets around and the receipt will come. You can also save yourself a sharp comment, like with the other reviews. Don't bother, that's what we're used to here.

It is not recommended to eat there at Christmas. You are constantly told how long you can sit at the table, and the schedule between reservations can be improved. Service not very friendly. Food was delicious.

We imagined our Christmas dinner to be a little different. We were informed a total of 3-4 times that the table could only be occupied for two hours, which was a bit annoying. There were lettuce leaves in the starter salad that could no longer be defined, so even the service staff turned up their noses when clearing away. Drinks were only served sparingly and you had the feeling that you were constantly under time pressure. The service seemed annoyed. Christmas dinner is different... so definitely not recommended at Christmas time.

We were there for Christmas dinner with the family, there was time pressure right from the start, it was emphasized again and again that they had only reserved the table until 4 p.m., then at 3:30 p.m. the boss came over and said we could order another drink but until 4 p.m The table must be free at noon. There was tremendous time pressure for everyone. And in the end, the service staff couldn't even split the bill between several parties; we had to do this. Overall it was unworthy of a Christmas dinner!!! Oh, I almost forgot about the food, but it wasn't worth mentioning. Our conclusion: It's good that there are other places for a nice Christmas dinner.

Nice, bright restaurant, friendly reception, we were allowed to choose a table. I thought that was very good. Everything was clean and tidy. The service was quick and friendly. The food was plentiful and tasty, although my meat was still bloody and not as I would have liked. I wanted it cooked, but it was really bloody. Therefore only 4 points.

I've been there again after a long time and I'm even more excited than the last time!!! As always, I ate my crust and was not only thrilled with the schnitzel but also with the fries, which were really crispy and perfectly seasoned! My two colleagues each had a steak plate and a 300g steak, which they were more than happy with!!! The waiters were always on the lookout to fulfill our every wish, something I have rarely experienced!!! If you don't believe me, see for yourself!!! Thanks to the entire El Tori team and respect for how much love and professionalism you work with.

Too bad! It could have been so good! The ambience is okay. A bit rustic for us, but perfectly acceptable. In summer the view of the lake is certainly wonderful. The staff was friendly. However, we were wondering why we were asked when ordering whether we would pay in cash or by card. Very strange. We weren't given the cards in our hands, they were instead placed at the head of the table. Service is somehow different. The waiting time for drinks and food was very short. The food looked very good at first. Unfortunately, after cutting the meat in half, we both discovered that it wasn't medium, as ordered, but completely rare. Not just the core, as can certainly happen depending on the piece of meat, but the entire piece. No, we didn't want to eat raw meat. So we both returned the dishes. After cooking, the pieces were medium well, which was fine. Both dishes were really good in terms of taste and quantity. When the latte macchiato came, I shook. A short, frizzy hair hung at the edge. The spoons were also covered in stains, even if they were just water stains, that's unsightly. There were also indefinable dark particles on the saucer. We removed the hair ourselves, but we should have complained about it straight away. The dessert was very tasty, although quite expensive. It could have been a lot more points, but raw meat and a hair on the glass just don't work...

We came here for the first time on a recommendation and we were not disappointed! The location is super nice, you feel really comfortable. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food, more specifically the steaks, are simply breathtaking! We've traveled a lot but these are definitely the best steaks! Very friendly service. Fast service. Despite the steakhouse, I decided on schnitzel (crustlets). The food was fresh and delicious. I really liked the mushroom sauce and pepper sauce. The Rösti thalers were perfectly prepared. I don't really like the pink mayo dressing on the side salad. I think it's a shame that some of the dishes are chipped. Great location with great lake views from the winter garden and terrace.

We were out with the cycling group and took a lunch break at El Tori. We had four different dishes and everyone enjoyed the food excellently. There were also various vegetarian dishes and the vegetable stir-fry was also very tasty. The service staff was very friendly and attentive. An absolute recommendation from all of us.

We ate a zander fillet and turkey liver here yesterday. The pike perch fillet was the best thing I've eaten so far. And the liver was also super tasty. Also a really great location. Right on the lake and a large terrace. All I can say is that I was thrilled. Grade 1++++++

Nice restaurant and very nice ambience. My liver wasn't quite as good, rather a bit dry, and onions were fried. The other dishes were much better for my “blackheads”.

We ate here for grandma's birthday. The location by the lake is great, but the disappointment came when ordering... NO wine list in the steakhouse and only 1 red wine?!?! Then came the steak...port wine steak medium with plum crust...the steak was subpar, bland, watery and tasteless...the plum crust was a tasteless piece of something and the port wine sauce was something tasteless red...worst steak ever and that in a supposed “steakhouse” Plus a scratchy Rioja, hardly drinkable and the other 3 meals were bland, too dry and not edible. NEVER again and I can only advise against it

Carpaccio war eine Frechheit 3 kleine Scheiben Fleisch ein paar Krümel Käse der Parmezaan sein sollte aber es nicht war und jede menge Ruccula. Das Filetsteak war voller Sehnen konnte man nicht essen. Das Gehaktessteak gefüllt mit Mozarella war ohne Geschmack, roh van innen und der Mozarella war nog hart und nicht geschmolzen. Es ging natürlich zurück in die Küche und kam dann als Schuhsohle zurück, so trocken. Keine Weinkarte anwesend, hallo in einem Steakhaus??? Und das alles für 105 Euro.
