The restaurant is in the upper town. Cozy, rustic atmosphere. Menu with sufficient selection. Salad buffet available. The dishes are tasty and have a good portion. Nice and friendly staff. Price/management of food and drinks is reasonable. There is an outdoor seating area in front of the restaurant, unfortunately located directly on the side street. A table reservation is definitely recommended as the restaurant is always busy. A few parking spaces nearby. Access is not barrier-free.

Top tent? I really don't understand it. Service very nice... but the food... makes you feel like you're going back 20 years in time. Salad bar? Iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, raw vegetables and corn? Eww. As a starter, a shrimp cocktail with "crispy" bread... the bread was so tough that I think it had been there for a day... not to mention the cocktail. If this is the best tent in Siegen then I think it is very disappointing for the people there 😅. Phew, what a disappointment.

Was there this evening with my colleagues for the Christmas party. The food was great! But what is really outstanding is the service! So friendly and professional! We felt very comfortable. Also through the ambience! The only thing I still complain about is the salad bar. Unfortunately I don't think they're that great for over 6 euros.

It should actually be a 3 star rating. Since I don't want to harm the restaurant, I would still like to express my criticism in the hope that it will be noticed internally. My steak with beans and bacon was not what I expected. The degree of cooking was right, but the meat was quite tough and tasted mediocre. The beans were completely overcooked and absolutely salty. There was a thick flap of fat on top of the beans that was inedible. This is not how you prepare bacon beans. The waiter shrugged my shoulders and said that it was because of the bacon that it was salty. Then here's a tip: if I add salty components to a dish, I reduce the salt in the other components. The salad bar consists of green lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots and coleslaw with 2 dressings. Basically what you throw on a kebab. If I pay around 40 euros for a steak, 7 euros for a salad and almost 7 euros for beans, then I expect significantly more than what we were offered. Because I cook it much better at home and with more sophistication.

The onion was still raw on the fried potatoes and the steak was not seasoned. Unfortunately not so nice.

I can only warmly recommend the steakhouse El Rancho in Siegen! The quality of the cuisine is exceptional - the steaks are perfectly cooked, tender and full of flavor. You can tell that attention is paid to the highest quality and fresh ingredients here. The side dishes and sauces also go perfectly with the steaks. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very pleasant and calm, making it an ideal place for a relaxing evening. The service is always friendly, attentive and professional, so you feel completely comfortable. Although the prices are a little higher, the quality and the overall package make every cent absolutely justified. For a great steak experience in Siegen, El Rancho is definitely my first choice! I always enjoy coming back. Highly recommended!

I've been a regular at El Rancho for 25 years. After the new owners took over everything was fine and as before. In August I noticed that things were changing. On Monday I was there again with customers and unfortunately it wasn't good. The service was very bad, I didn't even know what was on the menu. The fillet steak was a huge disappointment. At first it didn't taste good. The great El Rancho steak taste is no longer there. The meat never had the stated weight and tasted of nothing. I also noticed that the restaurant was only half full. I don't know anything else. There was also fat on the edge of the fillet steak, which I've never had before. That was probably it for the El Rancho with my customer visits. It's really a shame.

Food was always perfect under the direction of the Yugoslavs. Now others have taken over. Which I know but don't appreciate. I think I'll find another steakhouse. I lack trust in the new tenants. Maybe I'll give you a chance, but I'm not sure because I worked with them and didn't feel like I could rely on them. We'll see, one day I'll dine there, it will be the first or the last time. We live over 300km away and were in Siegen at the weekend and had dinner at "El Rancho" again after 16 years. Luckily nothing has changed and even the chef is still the same. We were again very enthusiastic about our food (rump steak, fillet steak and schnitzel). The meat was excellent and grilled to perfection. The good selection of salads in the salad bar is still very fresh and good and is always refilled immediately. The side dishes (chanterelles, fries, croquettes, sauces) are still just as good as they used to be. The ambience hasn't changed either, it's still just as beautiful and well-kept. Great praise definitely goes not only to the kitchen, but also to the very friendly, attentive and international staff. The prices are certainly higher than usual, but this is justified due to the very good cuisine, the ambience and the friendly staff. We would love to come back.

I went in because it was in front of a church and seemed to have a nice atmosphere. It was a Friday night, but I got in without a reservation. I ordered the sirloin with mushroom sauce. Not only the meat but also the mushrooms were fresh and delicious. It also came with a salad bar, so I had plenty of vegetables, and the price was reasonable, so I was satisfied. I ate it inside the store, and the one negative point was that there were a lot of flies swarming around the bread, but other than that I was satisfied.

Wir waren wieder einmal mit unseren erwachsenen Kindern und 2 Enkeln im El Rancho, wie seit vielen Jahren. Jetzt zum zweiten Mal beim neuen Inhaber mit neuen Mitarbeitern. Die Qualität der Speisen ist nach wie vor auf sehr hohem Niveau. Die Mitarbeiter sind nicht unfreundlich aber bei weitem nicht so ( kinder-) freundlich wie die früheren Mitarbeiter. Das Zahlen mit AMEX ist erstmals seit 30 Jahren nicht mehr möglich.

In itself a very nice restaurant/inn with a nice ambience. I was there with my husband last summer, but we expected more given the prices. Considering that you have to pay for the steak, salad, side dishes, and even the sauces etc. individually, it just doesn't taste good. I had a (actually) tender steak and neither I nor my husband liked it. The meat tasted old and was really tough. My husband couldn't eat a quarter of his steak because there was a thick tendon that couldn't be cut, which ran through the entire piece. As mentioned, simply far too expensive for such “quality”. Value for money is absolutely not right.

STEAK great as always! Salad bar very boring, little choice and always the same thing. So I used vegetables as a side dish, unfortunately without dressing, but nice and crunchy.

On the menu it says lumberjack steak from pork steak... Sorry guys, a lumberjack steak is cut from the shoulder. And I wouldn't know that the pork shoulder is a steak piece... But if you don't know, you'll pay a lot for it a lot of money... 😕 Enjoy your meal anyway...

We ate there based on a recommendation. Great restaurant, really good food and cozy atmosphere. We were served by a pretty, nice young lady with long brown hair who was very attentive and kept an eye on everything. We felt very comfortable with her and we would love to come back!

It's actually considered the worst steak restaurant. After my first visit, however, it was more like “approved”. The first drink order went wrong and the food had the wrong accompaniment. The steak was well done instead of medium and then we waited for 3/4 hours in front of an empty glass. Then we paid and left. At over 90 euros for 2 meals and 2 drinks, I would have expected much more. A pity

We ate there based on a recommendation. It was super friendly service from everyone. The drinks and food came quickly and were incredibly tasty. The atmosphere is very cozy and divided into smaller areas, which makes the whole thing even more relaxed.

The whole place seems very old-fashioned, the communication with the service staff was very bad, the lady in service seemed confused. The meat was stringy, 1/4 of it went back to the kitchen. The dessert was horrible, spray cream from a can, way too sweet, the ice cream was old and from a bulk package and the kitchen doesn't seem to be able to distinguish pistachios from raisins. All in all, an absolute failure. No recommendation.

My culinary journey from Cologne to Siegen to the El Rancho Steakhouse was a revelation for the senses. The cold starters such as the tender carpaccio with parmesan shavings and rocket, the fresh house-pickled salmon on crispy toast and the exquisite shrimp cocktail prepared the palate perfectly for the main course. Of the warm starters, the black tiger prawns in cream herb sauce and the snails in mushroom heads were particularly impressive. The highlight, however, was the steaks. The fillet steak was buttery soft, the rump steak was fried perfectly medium, and the entrecôte was a dream. The homemade herb butter and side dishes such as rosemary potatoes and country fries with sour cream rounded off every dish. The El Rancho house specialties, particularly the Angus fillet with chanterelle mushrooms and béarnaise sauce, were a feast for the palate. The drive here from Cologne was worth every kilometer. I can't wait to come back and discover more delights!

El Rancho Steakhouse is phenomenal! Recently I had the pleasure of dining there with 10 work colleagues and it was an absolutely flawless experience. The boss and his team performed exceptionally well. Despite our large group, we received a warm welcome and the food came to the table on time and without any problems. The steaks were perfectly cooked and of the highest quality, and the sides were delicious. What particularly impressed me was the boss's attention to every detail. He personally made sure our orders were prepared exactly to our liking. The entire team was extremely professional and courteous. This experience gave us all an unforgettable evening and we will definitely be back! A big compliment to the boss and the entire team at the El Rancho steakhouse for their excellent work!

My Italian guest and I had the pleasure of enjoying the Mix Grill Platter at Steakhouse El Rancho and it was a true feast for our taste buds! The quality of the grilled meat was exceptional, I was particularly impressed by how perfectly cooked my steak was - juicy, tender and full of flavour. The selection of different meats was generous and each one exceeded our expectations. Our meal was accompanied by a delicious Aperol Spritz, which was perfectly mixed and made the evening even more enjoyable. The atmosphere at Steakhouse El Rancho was welcoming and the staff was extremely accommodating. This experience was a real highlight and I can't wait to return to try more of this outstanding cuisine

After the owner changed, once and NEVER AGAIN!!!!! I'm super disappointed! My daughter and I have these Ordered Black Tiger Shrimp, according to the menu, with garlic sauce. The service person came back to our table and asked if we would like the shrimp with sauce????? Yes, of course! Just like it says on the map. We were served five naked, WITHOUT sauce, shrimp grilled to death! A shame for such wonderful seafood! When I asked where the sauce was, the answer I got was: We only serve this dish without sauce. What?? Firstly, this dish with garlic sauce is on the menu and secondly, he asked us! Chanterelles were advertised in my shrimp dish, but like the rest of the meal, I was impressed. very happy. They were chanterelles from a jar - watery, mushy, disgusting. The supplement was missing! My daughter got a bowl of fries and I got a large piece of baguette that was completely charred. You could have killed someone with this piece! I was at a loss for words. The El Rancho, which I know from the former owners, no longer exists. So much money for the worst meal ever. NEVER AGAIN!

Went to El Rancho for the first time. We have never eaten such a delicious steak and were completely satisfied. Unfortunately, the salad was too cold and the salad dressings could use more seasoning, but it was also ok. We'll definitely be back

Everything was right here. Friendly welcome, good atmosphere and an extensive menu. We had entrecote medium rare with corn on the cob and rump steak medium with baked potatoes. In our opinion, the two steaks were on the flame just a little too long, but still very good. The corn on the cob is fantastic and the sour cream with the potato is fresh, tasty and fortunately not contaminated with garlic. Sauvignon Blanc is fruity with little acid and the Amarula dessert is a real temptation. Reservations are recommended on Friday evenings.

Ende Dezember 2023 habe ich einen Tisch für Mitte Januar 24 für 15 Personen reserviert. Am besagten Tag habe ich mittags nochmal angerufen, um sicher zu gehen, dass alles passt. Gut das ich angerufen haben, sonst hätten wir da gestanden ohne Tisch … Geht garnicht sowas, vor allem, wenn man noch nach seiner Nummer gefragt wurde, geht man davon aus, dass das auch alles klappt. Zum Glück haben wir in einem anderen schönen Restaurant noch spontan einen Tisch bekommen.

Die Steaks sind echt ein Traum. Service top. Vielen Dank das so ein tolles Restaurant in Siegen existiert.
