We were there for the first time on Sunday and we really enjoyed it. The food was excellent, the service very friendly and, above all, quick. We've rarely seen such good staff. The atmosphere was lovely, with a walk around the pond afterward. We'd be happy to come back.

We were there today at lunchtime. The location by the lake was super nice. Potato salad and sausage salad were sold in plastic containers, which is a shame. The pretzels are fresh and delicious. At least the Obazda (traditional German sausage) was served on a plate with some salad and bread. It wasn't homemade, though, as it was taken from a large plastic container.

The claim to be the most beautiful beer garden in Germany couldn't be further from the truth. Yes, it is beautiful, especially for Krefeld. But every Bavarian chuckles, because even the village beer garden here is nicer. Prices are okay, but the concept of self-service food is an absolute disaster, with far too long waiting times.

A great concept for every budget, depending on your thirst and appetite. In my opinion, one of the most beautiful beer gardens in North Rhine-Westphalia, if not Germany. I thought it was fantastic. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately, despite having agreed on a date for the wedding venue, we were left standing. They could have at least given notice and canceled, as some people don't live right around the corner. In our opinion, that's very unprofessional.

I've been there several times; the service is fantastic, competent, and very friendly! The variety of food and drinks is very good, and the coffee and cake are also delicious! I'll be back!

Very cool location in the forest, right on the lake, with boat rentals. There's a serviced area, which is a bit more expensive, and a separate area where you have to get your own drinks and food. Very cozy 😊 Unfortunately, it's still under construction at the moment, but it doesn't really bother you.

Unfortunately, the raw food menu consisted only of pickled vegetables. The service was rustic. Suitable as a beer garden, but not for business meetings.

We were at a restaurant today. The young waitress served us with a grumpy expression. The children were eating dessert, but we wanted to order the main course, but she didn't come to our table. We ordered water, but in the summer, there was no cold water. We wanted to pay and leave, but the waitress just walked past me, grumbling without even looking at me. The way she talked to me and making a hang gesture was disrespectful. The manager came, and I explained the situation. Regarding the water, he said, "In Germany, restaurants only keep sparkling water cold and table water is never fridged and cold anywhere." I said I didn't know that and left. I found it a bad experience. Her behavior was absolutely unpleasant. I could tell the waitress was especially stressed because the dessert selection took a little longer because of the children. Also, since we were speaking in foreign language with the kids made her unpleasent in my opinion, I don't recommend that place. Environment and food are good on the other hand.

I've been to two proms, and each time the bouncers thought they were going to beat up students for no reason. Where do you find these people? Just go to the nearest gym and pick out the people with the biggest anger management issues and inferiority complexes. Not recommended.

The perfect venue for Hohzeit, nestled in the forest, the lounge offers decor, comfort, tranquility, and peace. Even when it's hot outside, its proximity to the forest leaves it cool and amidst the sounds of birds.

Simply put, the city forest, the beer garden and the city forest house are always beautiful and worth seeing for young and old......

It wasn't voted Germany's most beautiful beer garden for nothing. Fresh drinks and delicious food at fair prices. It's a great place to hang out.

It could have been very nice, but unfortunately, there's a middle-aged employee at the drinks counter who is extremely rude. Not just to us, but also to the next customers! This is certainly not an isolated incident! He needs to be educated on what service means and who brings in the money. What a shame ☹️

We attended the Sunday party; good music, good entertainment in a natural setting. The music could have been a little louder.

There's always room to complain. Okay, the chairs are a bit uncomfortable, at least for me (I have a walking disability). But otherwise, the complaining stops now. Since we only had a few drinks, I can't say anything about the food. The service, even the chef himself, was excellent, the drinks, and above all, the nature with the lake were simply fantastic. All in a city! We'll be back!

We celebrated our wedding at the Stadtwaldhaus Krefeld last weekend – and it was simply fantastic! Thanks to the amazing team, this was the best day of our lives. From the manager to the service staff – everyone was incredibly dedicated, friendly, and professional. You could really feel how much passion goes into their work. The venue is beautiful and provided exactly the atmosphere we wanted for our big day. The food was an absolute delight – our guests are still raving about it! We would especially like to highlight the personalized consultation beforehand: All our wishes were taken into account, and everything was implemented exactly as we had imagined. Simply perfect! Many, many thanks to the entire team – if we could, we would give it 10 stars!

Plenty of simple seating. Bratwurst and fries were all they offered, but that's perfectly fine. A trip to this wonderful park is always worthwhile.

Beautiful May 1st with live music.

We always enjoy being in the city forest. Today we used the service area for the first time. The food is indescribably good. We had a table for four and were then asked if it was okay while we were eating and if someone could be seated with us. We said yes out of friendliness, but we found it very rude that they then sat four people with us at the small table while we were still eating steak, and then the very people who were seated with us were annoyed by the smoking! A little tip: maybe offer more tables! In other restaurants you don't just sit people at your own table.

Beautiful beer garden right in the even more beautiful city forest. You can sit in the service area or get drinks yourself. On nice, sunny days it gets pretty full, but we still found a spot straight away. There are enough parking spaces, but you may have to walk 5 minutes. In addition to drinks, we also got fries and a currywurst. The fries were very salty and the ratio of currywurst to sauce wasn't quite right, but it was still tasty.

We went for a walk and had a snack here. The schnitzel was good, but not extraordinary, as was the (reasonable) price! The waiter was a student and brought the food quickly, but I took no cutlery from the neighboring table. He apologized and was courteous and friendly! We sat on the terrace, it's very nice there in the sun or in the shade - there is a small playground nearby, within sight/call distance, so that you can see the children and you can eat your drink/food in peace.

When the weather is fantastic, the "old Krefelder Stoffadel" horse racing track is not far away, with tennis courts next door. Lake for paddling and pedal boating with a large lawn for sunbathing. Perfect by bike, but a test of patience by car in this weather. Great friendly service and the food arrived quite quickly. Beautiful beer garden 💪🏻❗

Whether in the self-service area or with service, it's always nice to sit here! The berry cake was absolutely delicious! With nut/chocolate base, delicious cream, lots of raspberries and not too sweet.

On the first day of opening (March 2025), only the beer garden was open. The snack bar offered only a limited selection. Currywurst and fries (just over €9) were probably the classic among the other guests. Drinks were available indoors. The restrooms were also indoors. On weekday lunches in good weather, there was relatively little activity (10-15 guests). The parking lot directly in front of the building was still full.

In the summer I only know the beer garden, which is probably the largest in the area that I know! Beer and pretzels are good and tasty and very well attended when the weather is nice! Big construction site at the moment, hopefully everything will be in place by beer garden time! The music stage has been beautifully restored, new roof and repainted!

Unfortunately very disappointing! We had made a reservation for brunch on Boxing Day. You could see the menu online in advance, which sounded very good. But that was it. When we got there we were assigned a table on the edge outside the large hall, which was a good thing because there was a noise like in the train station. No wonder with around 300 people. The meal was precisely timed, starting at 10 a.m. with breakfast, 12 p.m. lunch, 1 p.m. dessert. Those who were at the buffet at 12 sharp were lucky. There was roast goose and venison ragout, unfortunately only leftovers for those of us later, sparsely distributed by young people, and by 12.45 the meat was completely gone. A number of things that were on the menu were completely missing. Then it was laid out for dessert, everything on the tablecloths that were completely stained from breakfast. I highly doubt that any of the desserts were homemade, they were all ready-made products, not even good ones. All in all, it was more of a mass production with long queues at the buffet, carelessly set up without decorations, the table behind us was able to “look forward” to a dried-up poinsettia as a table decoration. Coffee was at the table when it arrived, lukewarm and quite thin. The price of 43.50 was not justified at all and for the first and last time there.

For Christmas brunch, the breakfast was good, unfortunately again simple baked rolls, the service was friendly, there was again a puppet theater for the little guests and the little guests could paint on the stage. But unfortunately lunch wasn't that special. This year at least the dumplings were good and also the tortellini. The deer ragout was nowhere to be found, perhaps the deer is still running happily through the forest. The goose legs weren't a hit either, nor was the roast. The desserts were better last year and weren't served on the breakfast buffet, which was still partly there, didn't look so good and were pretty rare. The ice cream was good, but unfortunately again without cream. If you print a menu, the food should also be available. Unfortunately disappointed and we were 26 people.

We were there for a crime dinner, the choice of food was very limited for the vegan/vegetarian people in our group, even though we communicated this directly when booking. When they asked to leave out the meat, they just said it wasn't possible - the plates were already ready. Unfortunately it was very inflexible and there was no vegan dessert available. The food that came was delicious but the vegan main course was unfortunately very spicy. It was a mixed evening, the entrance was not signposted, dried flowers on the table, very loud so it was hard to hear the person right next to you, drafts and dirty toilets. Yes, it is currently under renovation but based on this experience I will not visit it again no matter what the occasion.

The food was okay, but the sauces were reminiscent of packet sauces. The whole thing was done very carelessly. The service was variable, a young man and the young women were very nice, but the older waiter was quite unfriendly. We sat at an event in the larger hall, which was rather uncomfortable and had little to no heating and was therefore very cold, which is an imposition if you have to sit there for over three hours. It may not be a beer garden outside in the summer, but I didn't like it inside.

We were at the crime dinner on November 10, 2024. The service was great, the employees were very helpful since we had a person in a wheelchair with us. The food was of poor quality. Unfortunately, the crime dinner didn't get any better from the actors. Far too long-winded, so that some guests were about to fall asleep. Not recommended.

We were able to celebrate our wedding here. Top ambience, top service and the food a 10 out of 10. Mr. Lang gave us very good advice in advance and accompanied us through many processes. On the wedding day itself we were extremely well looked after by the service headed by Ms. Hoffmann. The wedding was much better than we had previously imagined. As a bride and groom, we really felt like kings and queens. I have rarely encountered such excellent service and an almost friendly closeness to those responsible. The kitchen has delivered one masterpiece after another and we are still hearing great things from friends and family more than a week later. Stadtwaldhaus you are unique, stay that way and stay with us, we always enjoy coming to this house knowing that we won't miss anything. I recommend that every wedding couple have a personal conversation here, as we were also very positively surprised in terms of price.

As the stars reveal, White sausages almost cold, grillage cake not good, way too sweet and I doubt whether the cream is actually real cream. Toilets are really an imposition. BUT the young people who clear tables, sell food etc. are very accommodating.

The location is beautiful, the service is great, the menu is boring. In a beer garden I expect a corresponding menu with, for example, snack plates, cheese and other little things. Who wants a mediocre currywurst for around €10.80? The toilets are an imposition.

Beautifully located large beer garden with a self-service area and one with service and menu. In the beer garden you can find beer, soft drinks, small snacks and popsicles. There is a small playground for the little ones, but the newly built playground in the city forest is not far away and has become very nice. You can also go boating in summer. The park is a beautiful English landscape park and is great for a stroll in hot weather. The beer garden with city forest is highly recommended for a short excursion!

Hello everyone 👋. The location of the beer garden is great 👌👍. Very nice service, ok atmosphere 👍. However, when it comes to dessert, I am disappointed 😏.
